Our trio of Paul Calvisi, Darren Urban and Dani Sureck get a little loose in the turns to open this latest episode, but quickly focus on what's important - like conversations about both Joshua Dobbs and his current arc at quarterback, and when Kyler Murray will return to actually play. There is also talk about Hollywood Brown's near-misses in L.A. and his overall future, the need to get Michael Wilson the ball, how the secondary might filter out when Budda, JT and Garrett Williams return, the release of Myjai Sanders, and the chance, however small, that Paul will wear an umbrella hat.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ep. 678 - Each of the Cardinals' first four opponents are teams the Philadelphia Eagles played last season. What does that matter? Well, head coach Jonathan Gannon and defensive coordinator Nick Rallis were both with the Eagles in 2022. So, too, was linebacker Kyzir White. That's big, especially going into this week's matchup at San Francisco, one of the three remaining undefeated teams. Craig Grialou and Dani Sureck look ahead to what White and the Cardinals defense is up against. Also discussed, the national talk surrounding the Cardinals; cornerback play by both Marco Wilson and Kei'Trel Clark; and when is it realistic to see Kyler Murray, Myjai Sanders and/or Garrett Williams in a game.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Locked On Cardinals - Daily Podcast On The Arizona Cardinals
JJ Watt reported on Twitter that he's going to be retiring at the end of the 2022 season. Since becoming an Arizona Cardinal, he's ingratiated himself to his teammates, the Arizona Cardinals fan base, and the community. He's been a consummate professional ever since his rookie season, being a role model not only on the field but also off of it. His charity raised almost $40 million dollars for Hurricane Harvey victims while playing for the Houston Texans, and that big smile and hard-hitting playing style rounded out a truly great person and professional. When he retires, he'll leave behind a legacy for the future of the Arizona Cardinals. That legacy will hopefully be embodied in Zach Allen, Cameron Thomas, and Myjai Sanders as the future of the pass rush for the Arizona Cardinals. To download the game just visit Ultimate-GM.com or look it up on the app stores. Sure, it was draft weekend, but let's face it – the bigger news for Paul Calvisi, Darren Urban and Dani Sureck to hash out all were in the wide receiver room: the trade for Hollywood Brown and the suspension of DeAndre Hopkins. What do each of these things mean for the Cardinals in 2022? That's something for our trio to chew on, including how this mirrors (or doesn't) the 2019 suspension of Patrick Peterson. They also talk about how Kliff Kingsbury and the offense can work those first six games, why the Cardinals took a tight end over pass rushers in Round 2, the battle in the offensive backfield, whether the draft duo of Cameron Thomas and Myjai Sanders can produce as rookie pass rushers, a look around the NFC West, and Dani's inability to keep her yawns out of this professional broadcast.
Locked On Chargers - Daily Podcast On The Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers will likely look to the 2022 NFL Draft for EDGE Rushers and Interior Defensive lineman even after the additions of Khalil Mack and Sebastian Joseph-Day. Will Jordan Davis or an edge rusher get the call in the first round? Daniel and David get into eight new edge and defensive tackle prospects that could make sense for the Chargers. If the Chargers don't go with and edge rusher like David Ojabo or George Karlaftis in round one, can they still find depth later on? There are some interesting prospects like Josh Paschal and Myjai Sanders who could be worth the pick even with some flaws. The defensive tackle class actually seems pretty deep and your hosts find some later round players that could make an early impact. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
1. As of right now, the #1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft is widely expected to be Michigan's Aidan Hutchinson. And there is A LOT to like about him including his non-stop motor and freakish athleticism, which was illustrated by his 6.73-second three-cone drill at the Combine. However, one knock on him is his less-than-ideal, 32 and 1/8 “ arm length. The amount of pass rushers with arms that short who have found success in the NFL is very small. If you were GM of the Jaguars, assuming your OL needs are taken care of, would Hutchinson's arm-length alone be enough for you to pass on him? 2. The best performer at the Combine, at least in my opinion, was Georgia's Travon Walker. He ran a 4.51 40 and posted a 6.89-second three-cone at 272 pounds, and became a lock top-five pick. While they say you must bet on traits when it comes to EDGE rushers (and Walker has them in spades), there is one stat that has me a bit concerned about him. As Marcus Mosher pointed out, Travon Walker only averaged 0.58 TFL per game at Georgia and the hit rate for EDGE players who average less than 0.80 TFL/game in college is astonishingly low. That said, you countered by saying it was mainly due to how he was utilized in that Georgia defense. Are the stars aligned for Travon Walker to buck this trend? 3. Is there anything on tape that justifies the concerns about Kayvon Thibodeaux's supposed lack of passion and love for the game? 4. An NFC scout told NFL.com's Lance Zierlein that he thinks David Ojabo will have a more productive NFL career than his Michigan teammate Aidan Hutchinson. Would you be shocked or surprised if this eventually becomes the case? 5. Last year, Odafe Oweh was a first-round pick almost solely because of raw athletic traits. We could get an identical situation this year in Minnesota's Boye Mafe, who posted a 41.5” vertical at his Pro Day this week. Just how high is the ceiling for Mafe and is he worth a top-20 pick in your view? 6. Despite his lack of length and athleticism, is George Karlaftis still worth a first-round pick? 7. Buy or Sell: Jermaine Johnson, Logan Hall, Arnold Ebiketie, Nik Bonitto, Sam Williams, Dominique Robinson, Joshua Paschal, Cameron Thomas, Myjai Sanders, Alex Wright 8. Best Landing Spots: -Aidan Hutchinson: Jaguars, Lions -Travon Walker: Seahawks, Giants -Kayvon Thibodeaux: Seahawks -David Ojabo: Chargers, Eagles, Cowboys, Cardinals -Boye Mafe: Chiefs -George Karlaftis: Lions -Jermaine Johnson: Vikings -Logan Hall: Ravens
