Host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise to ponder Penn State football's future in the Big Ten landscape amid Indiana's meteoric rise with the two teams facing off this weekend. This show is presented by FanDuel. Are the second-ranked Hoosiers a short-term flash in the pan under coach Curt Cignetti? Or are they here to stay beyond 2025? Do they have the resources to challenge the Nittany Lions on the field in the years to come? Or will they revert into something closer to their historical also-ran status in the Big Ten? And what's the importance of Terry Smith, Ethan Grunkemeyer, Kaytron Allen and Dani Dennis-Sutton managing an upset this weekend at the program level? Our duo tackles those questions; the possibility that Curt Cignetti could still be an option in the Penn State coaching search to replace James Franklin; and the viability of other candidates including Texas A&M's Mike Elko, Vanderbilt's Clark Lea and Georgia Tech's Brent Key. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

What happens when cutting-edge analytics meet old-school competitiveness?Penn State pitching coach Will Jauss has the answer — and it's changing how college baseball develops pitchers. In this exclusive interview, Jauss takes us deep inside the Nittany Lions' pitching laboratory, where numbers meet nuance, and technology fuels transformation. From bullpen sessions wired with TrackMan, Rapsodo, and high-speed video, to in-game decision-making based on release consistency, spin efficiency, and pitch tunneling, Jauss reveals how Penn State blends science, structure, and feel into a unified system for success. But beyond the metrics, he emphasizes what can't be quantified — the mindset, discipline, and daily habits that make great pitchers great.Discover how Penn State's staff teaches its arms to command the moment, not just the strike zone; why command beats velocity every time; and how Jauss is preparing his pitchers to thrive against Big Ten lineups — and beyond. This isn't just a look at baseball's next frontier — it's a masterclass in how data, development, and determination come together to create pitchers built for the modern game.

Ohio State enjoyed its second bye week — or “improvement week,” if you like — over the weekend, while most of the rest of the conference kept playing. We took the opportunity to get a look at some of the remaining competition, but what seemed like a strong slate of games was a bit disappointing in the end. Before we went around the Big Ten to see how other teams made out, we discussed the tragic and untimely passing of former Ohio State center Nick Mangold, who lost his battle with kidney disease at far too young an age. Mangold was a monster in the middle of the OSU offensive line during his time in Columbus and enjoyed a productive NFL career as well. He also seemed to be well liked by just about everyone he interacted with. We pay our respects to the fallen Buckeye legend. After that, we looked around the B1G to see how the other teams made out. Reality set in for UCLA in the Hoosier State, with Indian taking the Bruins to the woodshed. Oregon surprisingly struggled against Wisconsin but did enough to get the win. The Wolverines won the Paul Bunyan Trophy in the battle of the Mitten State, and Rutgers picked up a vital win late after a wild Purdue turnover to stay in the hunt for a bowl berth. We didn't expect Iowa to spank Minnesota, but that's what happened. Nebraska also outlasted Northwestern as both teams tried to throw the game away late, but only one team could pull that off.We also looked ahead to the schedule that lies ahead on Saturday. There are always some intriguing matchups and this week is no exception. Finally, we previewed the big meeting with Penn State. It's fair to say the season hasn't gone according to plan for the Nittany Lions, but there's no animal more dangerous than one that is wounded and cornered. Ohio State cannot take the Nitts for granted. Saturday's visitors are talented, even if they haven't had their way of things this season and their visit to Columbus will be seen as an early bowl game and a potential springboard for a decent finish to the season and an actual bowl game. We selected our picks to click in the game for the Buckeyes and tried our hand at predicting the final score. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or send us an email at SilverBulletsPod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 - We remember the late Nick Mangold and take a tour around the rest of the Big Ten.23:10 - It isn't the Ohio State-Penn State game we envisioned, but it's the one we have. We try to get you ready for one of the biggest games on the remaining OSU schedule.
Seven games and two bye weeks are behind us. Now Ohio State enters the stretch run of its regular season with five games the next five Saturdays. The stretch begins at home against Penn State this week. What can be expected from the Nittany Lions, who showed life in a one-point loss against Iowa on Oct. 18? What do the Buckeyes need to clean up the most if they want to achieve their goals this season? Something Penn State is very aware of is the unprecedented in-season coaching firings we have seen this season in college football. The Nittany Lions have an interim head coach after dismissing James Franklin earlier this month. The latest to bite the dust is Brian Kelly at LSU, who didn't even complete four full seasons in Baton Rouge. Is this a one-year aberration, or might this be how college football looks in most seasons moving forward? Dave Biddle and Dan Rubin also field questions from the live audience and much more.
