Weitere Themen: · Beim Raumkonzept Toggenburg ist man einen Schritt weiter: Eine neue Umfrage zeigt, wie die Toggenburgerinnen und Toggenburger ihre Region sehen und was sie sich wünschen. An der Umfrage haben fast 700 Personen teilgenommen. · Im St. Galler Naherholungsgebiet Drei Weieren wird ab heute der Wasserpegel im Mannenweiher gesenkt. Grund dafür sind ein kaputter Steg und ein Sprungturm, der fester befestigt werden muss. · In Arbon im Kanton Thurgau müssen wegen des selbstfahrenden Busses zwei Parkplätze zumindest vorübergehend aufgehoben werden. Der Bus habe Mühe, dort durchzufahren, weshalb manuell eingegriffen werden müsse, heisst es von der Stadt Arbon.

Die Forderung nach einer veganen Mensa erhitzt in Basel die Gemüter. Sie kommt von der Gruppe «Plant Based Universities». Die Gruppe argumentiert, dass auch die Uni Klimaziele habe und man mit veganem Essen Geld sparen könne. Die Forderung stösst aber auf Widerstand. Bülach hat die Stimmberechtigten per SMS über Tempo 30 abstimmen lassen. Diese Weltpremiere sorgte auch im Ausland für Schlagzeilen. (00:06:39) LU: Chauffeurin über das Fahren des oft verspäteten Busses in Luzern Bei der Pünktlichkeit von Bussen im Regionalverkehr belegt der Kanton Luzern im schweizweiten Vergleich den zweitletzten Platz – nur Genf ist schlechter. Zu diesem unrühmlichen Resultat kommt das Bundesamt für Verkehr. Besonders unpünktlich sind die Busse in der Stadt Luzern. Damit nehmen wieder mehr Leute das Auto und verstopfen die Strassen zusätzlich. Nun wollen Bus-Unternehmen das Problem mit einer Plattform angehen. Wir hören eine Buschauffeurin, die von ihrem mühsamen Arbeitsalltag im verspäteten Bus erzählt. (00:09:14) AG: Ein traditionelles Bauernhaus wird gezügelt In Hirschthal stehen noch zwei traditionelle Hochstudhäuser. Diese alten Bauernhäuser, die mehrheitlich aus einem Dach bestehen, sind im Dorf als Wahrzeichen geschützt. Eines der beiden Häuser ist in einem schlechten Zustand und soll einem Bahnausbau weichen. Nun wird das Haus auseinandergenommen und auf einem nahegelegenen Bauernhof im Dorf wieder aufgebaut. Früher war es offenbar gang und gäbe, dass man ganze Häuser zügelte. Die Bauernfamilie möchte das Haus umnutzen. (00:12:05) SG: Zahnarztbus für Seniorinnen und Senioren In Wil und Umgebung fährt ein Zahnarzt neu mit einem Bus von Altersheim zu Pflegeheim. Die Arbeitsatmosphäre sei viel besser, wenn die Betreuerinnen des Heims die Kundinnen und Kunden grad bis auf den Zahnarztstuhl begleiten. So werden Zahnreinigung, Lochflicken oder Gebissanpassen zu einer einfachen Sache. Alle sind begeistert.

Seit 100 Jahren sind in Essen Busse im Einsatz. Diese Geschichte lebendig hält die Verkehrshistorische Arbeitsgemeinschaft EVAG. In der neuen Folge "Essen im Ohr" besucht Radio Essen-Stadtreporter Timm Schröder den Verein und seinen Anderthalbdecker. Der historische Bus ist noch heute in Essen unterwegs. Vor fast vier Jahrzehnten gründete sich die Verkehrshistorische Arbeitsgemeinschaft EVAG in Essen. Seit diesem Zeitpunkt kümmern sich die rund 200 Vereinsmitglieder um die Geschichte der Busse und Straßenbahnen in Essen. In der Zwischenebene des U-Bahnhofs Hirschlandplatz gibt es ein kleines Museum und regelmäßig werden Sonderfahrten mit historischen Triebwagen und Bussen angeboten. Auch für private Veranstaltungen können die Fahrzeuge angemietet werden und es gibt einen TramShop mit Modellen, Geschenkartikeln und Infomaterial. Außerdem kümmert sich der Verein um die Pflege und Wartung seiner Fahrzeuge. Christian Boden und sein Team zeigen ihren historischen Anderthalbdecker. Der historische Bus des Essener Vereins wird auch Rucksackbus genannt. Vor über 50 Jahren wurde er zugelassen. Der Aufbau aus Holz, Metall und Glas kam aus Altenessen. Bus gefahren wird in Essen aber schon seit hundert Jahren. Die Busse waren damals noch mit Vollgummireifen. Entsprechend rumpelig waren die Fahrten im Jahr 1925 vom Hautbahnhof nach Heisingen. Dagegen ist der Anderthalbdecker schon sehr luxuriös mit weichgepolsterten Sitzen und sogar guter Aussicht. Dazu durfte im Obergeschoss sogar geraucht werden. Für Essen-im-Ohr-Host Timm Schröder wird auch mal der Motor des Busses gestartet und auch die Hupe gedrückt. Das klingt richtig schön. Viele schöne Geschichten gibt es über diesen Bus aus den vergangenen Jahren zu erzählen. Es ist nicht immer alles glatt gelaufen. Darum geht es in den nächsten 30 Minuten.

After many years working in a financial establishment in Communist China, Lois discovered that her company had been embezzling money from the Chinese government. Tatsächlich sieht die Lage für Menschen, die auf Bus und Bahn angewiesen sind, nach der Streichung von unzähligen unrentablen Zugstrecken und einem rudimentären Busverkehr wohl wirklich schlecht aus, so dass die Ankunft eines Busses auf dem Dorf einem Ereignis gleichkommt - wie es auch vor 100 Jahren der Fall war, als zum ersten Mal Landstriche um die urbanen Zentren herum mit Bussen angebunden wurden. In einer Miniatur schildert der Autor und Übersetzer Siegfried von Vegesack solch eine Ereignis aus der Sicht der in der Dorfschenke versammelten lokalen Bevölkerung für den Hamburgischen Correspondenten vom 14. Mai 1925. Der Autor war mit den ländlichen Regionen Bayerns vertraut, da er in den 20er Jahren in der Burgruine „Burg Weißenfels“ in der Nähe der Kreisstadt Regen lebte. Auf die Ankunft des Busses im Dorf wartet für uns Frank Riede.
