“My job is to make [event planners] look like a rock star when I get off stage…I stand beside them so I can also have them hear the lovely things people are saying in line when people want to hug you and take their photo with you. And so what they need to see is [that I] was a good investment.”In this episode, Grant Baldwin connects with Neen James for an honest, energetic conversation on what it truly means to make an impact as a public speaker. Neen's journey shines a spotlight on the power of intentional focus, where knowing exactly who you serve, and why, can transform not only your business but your ability to connect from the stage. As Neen shares, growing your speaking business is less about flashy tactics and more about consistent, meaningful action. She and Grant unravel the myth that you need a massive following or viral content to succeed. Instead, it's about doubling down on the basics: nurturing authentic relationships within your network, following up with event planners, and always delivering value tailored to your audience's needs. The episode also digs into the art of strategic outreach. It's not ideal to sit back and hope your inbox fills up. Take ownership of your calendar by making outreach a daily habit, revisiting those half-finished conversations, and gently reminding people how you can help. Overall, landing more speaking gigs comes down to intentional action, relationship-building, and refusing to overcomplicate the process. Transforming Ordinary Interactions into Luxury Experiences Shep interviews Neen James, leadership strategist, keynote speaker, and author of Exceptional Experiences. She talks about how any business, regardless of size or price point, can create a luxury-level customer experience by focusing on making customers feel seen, heard, and valued. This episode of Amazing Business Radio with Shep Hyken answers the following questions and more: What are the common misconceptions about delivering a luxury customer experience? How can businesses provide a luxury-level service even if they are not selling expensive products? How does high-quality service contribute to a feeling of luxury for customers? What are the five luxury levers that businesses can use to elevate their customer experience? What are the four experience mindsets that influence how customers perceive and value luxury? Top Takeaways: Luxury is not just about the price tag. It's about the experience you create for people, whether you're selling a high-end product or something affordable. Every brand can deliver a luxury-level experience by paying attention to details and adopting a mindset that every customer deserves to feel valued and appreciated, regardless of what they buy or where they shop. Luxury can sometimes be a divisive term because of the misconception that it is only for the select few. Just as every customer deserves a luxurious experience, every employee is capable of creating it. Whether you're a cashier, a manager, or someone at a front desk, you can deliver luxury through quality service and attention to detail. A luxury experience often involves engaging all five senses: sight, smell, sound, touch, and taste. For example, some stores let you touch the products, smell good food, or hear pleasant music, making the visit more enjoyable and memorable. This creates a lasting emotional connection that makes people want to come back. The heart of a luxury experience is making every customer feel important. Listen carefully, pay attention to their needs, and show appreciation for their choices. When you build an emotional connection, it creates loyalty and sets your business apart from the competition. Not every customer defines luxury the same way. Neen shares the four luxury mindsets; 1. Reluctant and Removed, 2. Pro Prioritizer, 3. Confident and Content, and 4. Luxury Lover. To discover your luxury mindset, take this self-assessment. Plus, Neen talks about the five actionable "luxury levers" that she writes about in her book, Exceptional Experiences. Tune in! If you're an expert in something, chances are, you share content about that something. But so does everyone around you. Merely sharing your expertise makes you a commodity. I can get it anywhere, and I guess you're anywhere. That's why I routinely say, you need to stop creating content and start creating IP. Your IP is built on top of your premise, the core idea informing the rest, but more experts should also develop their signature frameworks, or what our guest today calls "contextual models." Your contextual models help turn complexity into simplicity, so people go, "Wow, I get it, and I see how much more there is to know. Take me through it."Today's wonderful guest (and a master of contextual modeling) is Neen James. She's a leadership strategist who has worked with brands like Viacom, Comcast, and the Four Seasons, a fantastic keynote speaker, and the author of multiple books, including Folding Time, Attention Pays, and her latest: Exceptional Experiences: Five Luxury Levers to Elevate Every Aspect of Your Business. In our episode, Neen shares how she develops her frameworks, then delivers a signature story from her speeches and her new book which we dissect and celebrate piece by piece. This is a rare and generous look at the process of one of my favorite business authors and speakers.***ABOUT ME - IN 3 PHRASESDon't market more.

Send us a textDe voetbaljaargang 2024-2025 zit erop.
Send us a textEen eerste prijs in acht jaar?

Let me put you to the test: do you know how to say no in Lux? This is NEE is very short and negative. However, sometimes when we wish to say no, depending on the situation and the persons you surrounded with then saying NEE can sound a bit harsh.Imagine that you are in a Luxembourgish café or restaurant, the waiter may ask you if you'd like something else. But you're fine. Then saying Nee would sound a bit harsh, doesn't it?So when we wish to say NEE there are more polite ways to do it. I have set out below a number of different ways to say NEE that you can use in different circumstances. Sometimes when we want to say NEE we try not to be rude or to hurt someone's feelings so we prefer to use a variety of words that still mean NEE. I am thrilled to not only share in this episode some useful Luxembourgish words for no but also several very useful expressions. And we're going to practice saying each of these expressions together naturally so that you can make sure you're saying NEE the right way.Prett?Nee – NoThis is the traditional way to say no in Luxembourgish. You might hear some people saying Neen, but it is just to emphasize the negation. Example:Child: Mamma, kréien ech nach eng Cola? – Mom, can I have another coke?Mother: Nee(n)! Du hues haut genuch Cola gedronk. – No! You've had enough coke for today. In some situations, answering Nee can come across as rude though. so you may want to say Nee merci instead.Nee Merci. – No thank you. When you buy something at the bakery or order a meal at a restaurant, the waiter or seller is likely to ask you if you'd like something else. If you don't want anything else you can simply say Nee merci or you can answer:Nee merci, dat ass alles. – No thank you, that's all.Nee merci, ‘t ass alles an der Rei. – No thank you, I'm fine.Or in case someone is offering you some help but you can manage alone you can answer:Nee merci, dat geet schonn. – No thank you, I'm fine.Nee merci, ech ginn eens. – No thank you, I'll manage.Ni – neverIf you want to say you'll never do or never did something, you can use niWaars du schonn a Schottland? – Have you (informal) ever been to Scotland?Nee, nach ni. – No, never (so far).Leider net – Unfortunately notThis is a way often used to politely decline requests while pretending you really wished you could help.Kann ech e Remboursement kréien? – Can I get a refund?Leider net. – Unfortunately not.Nach net! – Not yet!If you're supposed to do something, but didn't do it yet, you can use nach net.Hues dee Film scho gesinn? – Did you see that movie already?Nee, nach net. – No, not yet.Et deet mir leed …. – I'm sorry ….You can decline any offer by starting your answer with Et deet mer leed …Let's talk about how to say this. So when spoken, ‘Et' is not pronounced and instead of mir native speakers say mer and thus it will sound like this: deet mer leed …. (Watch the video above to practice the pronunciation)And then you can add the following phrases after Et deet mer leed …. … mee dat geet (leider) net. – …. but I (afraid) can't.Et deet mer leed, mee dat geet leider net. –I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't. …. dat ass leider net méiglech. – …. I'm afraid that's not possible.…. mee ech hu (leider) keng Zäit. – … but I'm (afraid) I have no time.…. mee ech hu schonn eppes vir. – …. but I've already something planned. Some useful casual ways to say noThese are often used in every day life conversations. Learn them so to recognise these in conversations and to be able to use them as well.Ech mengen net. – I don't believe so.Wahrscheinlech net. – Probably not.Net datt ech wéisst. – Not at my knowledge. To say a STRONG NEE you can use one of the following expressions (with someone you know very well!!):Dat kënnt net a Fro! – That's out of question! / No way!Nimools! – Never ever!Bestëmmt net! – Certainly not.Lets practiceTry to translate the following sentences into Luxembourgish:I'm afraid, that's not possible.I don't have time on Friday.I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't come to your party on Saturday. That's unfortunately not possible. No thank you, I'm fine.Unfortunately not.Website: https://luxembourgishwithanne.luSproochentest Oral Exam Prep Class:https://courses.luxembourgishwithanne.lu/p/oralexamFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/luxembourgishwithanne.lu/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/luxembourgishwithanne/?hl=enLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/80364342/admin/feed/postsYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCh7_kWqrLaZea-IJH46KJEA

This is a classic rerun of our episode with Neen James. Neen is a leadership and attention expert known for delivering high-energy keynote presentations that challenge audiences to leverage their focus and pay attention to what matters most at work and in life – and the value of attention is exactly what we're going to be talking about today.Neen recently wrote a new book, Attention Pays: How to Drive Profitability, Productivity, and Accountability, in which she argues that we live in an attention-deficit society and that by having more intentional attention in our actions and relationships with others, we can improve our profitability, productivity, and accountability. Plus, I know that you all will be delighted by her personality, wisdom, and Australian charm.Neen is also generous enough to offer Law Entrepreneur listeners a FREE gift: you can get a sample chapter for Attention Pays and a copy of her 5-Step Attention Challenge by going to thelawentrepreneur.com/neenjames.Episode Reference: How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale CarnegieGet in touch with Neen James:Website: https://neenjames.com/ Book: Attention Pays: How to Drive Profitability, Productivity, and AccountabilityYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/AussieNeen Twitter: https://twitter.com/neenjames Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NeenJamesCommunications LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/neenjames Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/neenjames/ Thank you to our sponsors!Ruby Receptionist - Virtual receptionist & live call services that will help you grow your office (and save money), one call at a time - to learn more, go to https://get.ruby.com/TLE or call 844.311.7829The Net Profit CFO - Ryan Kimler works with attorneys who want to enjoy higher net profits without working longer or harder. Stress and trauma. We hear that we shouldn't stress during pregnancy. That stress is bad for our health. But how can we take an action-based approach to stress and trauma reduction and nervous system regulation? What are the options provided for someone struggling with Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) apart from medications? How can we, as birth professionals, identify and encourage a client to seek support? Is there a way that we can *actually* address the poor maternal health outcomes that are only getting worse in our society? And, how can we address our own stress and trauma so that we do not take it into our work. In this episode we're joined by Ja'Neen Jenkins Washington to chat about all things stress and trauma during pregnancy. Touching also on how our society is set up in a way that disproportionately impacts black and brown families. How can we help? Racism is deeply rooted and can affect not only the physical outcomes of a birth but also the mental health outcomes of these populations. Ja'Neen brings us some really important and helpful ideas. She's someone we should all get to know. The amazing work she's doing is combining mind and body to help the perinatal population to thrive. She takes an individualized, client-focused approach to stress and trauma. Bringing together mental health, somatic body awareness, and so much more to provide her clients with a holistic experience. Stacks the cards in their favor for a better experience. We also discuss how critical it is that birth pros do more than just ask their clients to meditate or take deep breaths for dealing with stress. It's important for birth workers to have their own inner resources and coping strategies. And, we discuss the importance of the post birth ritual in helping birth workers to find joy in their job and avoid the burnout that is so prevalent in our industry. Let's shift the paradigm, together! Website: https://www.covered318.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/covered318/Show Notes: Covered Services | BRM® Professional Training

Jeanine Lobell is a legend within the beauty industry, and her career has evolved a number of times. She made a name for herself as a makeup artist working on covers of Vogue, W, and Vanity Fair with stars like Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman and Nicole Kidman. She then took a major leap into the world of beauty products, founding Stila Cosmetics and pioneering paper packaging and a playful approach to makeup that resonated with a new generation of consumers. Now, she's one-upped herself once again with the creation of her direct-to-consumer beauty brand Neen, which she launched just last April. With Neen, Jeanine created the first-ever subscription card including five peel-back makeup swatches encouraging the consumer to try out new creative looks, but only invest in the items they truly fall in love with. Hear how she's built, sold, and pioneered brands that have changed the beauty landscape for the better on this week's episode.
