Over the years, The Mark White Show has walked alongside families facing some of life's toughest battles. Tonight's show is about two of those journeys and a community determined to make a difference. I'll be joined by Katie Humphres-Cagle, Marketing & Business Strategist for Barking Cow Farms (owned by Maegan Adrian), to talk about the upcoming Back-to-School Bash and Benefit in Brilliant, Alabama. What started as a community event has become something much bigger. The benefit will honor the life and legacy of Maddie Bishop, whose courageous battle with Ewing's sarcoma inspired so many, while also supporting Cooper Terry and his family as they continue their own fight against cancer. We'll talk about the heart behind the event, why it was important to honor Maddie's legacy, how the community has rallied around both families, and how you can be part of making a difference. I hope you'll join us tonight as we share another story of compassion, resilience, and a community coming together when it's needed most. Real stories. Real people. Real impact. News That Unites!™

Nancy's ankle has been bothering her for months, so she finally went to the doctor. Apparently, it never healed when she broke it two years ago. Is physical therapy actually going to help her? The show talked about summer break winding down, back-to-school shopping, and helping local kids through the Clothe the Kids Back-to-School Bash in Sevierville. There is a new pregnant baby doll toy that lets kids "deliver" a baby from a removable belly that is full of slime. Joey realized his kids have never experienced classic infomercials after his son got hooked watching a Shark vacuum commercial. The conversation turned into nostalgia about ShamWow, Billy Mays, and other older commercials. Hot Tea: Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO ignored legal advice and did not consult a genetics/reproductive lawyer before their divorce. Megan Moroney talked about turning heartbreak into concert anthems. A Bigfoot hunter claims he has DNA evidence proving that Sasquatch exists. The show discussed jobs typically associated with the opposite gender after hearing about a woman-owned locksmith business. Listeners called in with stories about female truck drivers, welders, firefighters, electricians, painters, and police officers. Lucky 7 for $50 to Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants Nancy told a crazy Key West story involving blindfolded people standing motionless, posing in bushes, humming, and laying on the ground in formation. Joey and Nancy debated a viral video showing an older Cubs fan smacking a younger man for remaining seated during the national anthem. Both agreed people should stand, but disagreed with putting hands on someone. They also pointed out that the younger fan has the protected right to not stand up. Read along with our chosen scripture: Proverbs 11:3; Genesis 25:27–34 Don't trade your integrity for a bowl of stew. Don't be ruled by your appetites. I will not trade what I value most for something I have an appetite for now. Join us for an insightful episode as we dive into the theme of integrity and the powerful influence of our appetites. In this episode, we discuss how our desires can often lead us to make choices that compromise our integrity, using the biblical story of Jacob and Esau as a compelling illustration. Key Highlights: The importance of integrity in our lives and how it impacts our relationships and decisions. Understanding appetites: what they are, how they can dominate our lives, and the consequences of letting them rule us. Practical steps to recognize and resist the temptations that threaten our integrity. A challenge to reflect on your own "bowl of stew"—what are the things you might be trading your future for? As we prepare for the upcoming Back to School Bash, we encourage you to invite friends and family to join us in this journey of self-reflection and growth. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are an alternative to church as usual. Our Sunday worship service is approximately a 75-minute experience designed to introduce people to the message of Jesus and equip believers to live their lives in response to the Gospel while their kids enjoy one of our safe children's environments. Centerpoint is designed to meet you wherever you are on the journey whether you are just checking out the "church thing" or you are a committed Christ follower. Centerpoint is a casual environment that combines today's music with creative media and relevant teaching. We hope you will visit us at Centerpoint Church regardless of what your past church experience has looked like.

Every year the foundation holds a ‘Back to School Bash'. Organizers said they gave away 30-thousand backpacks full of school supplies to families during the event last month at Raymond James Stadium. His philanthropy led to being honored earlier this year with a Kente Community Award from the University of South Florida. But his path to fame and fortune wasn't an easy one. He wrote about his upbringing to a single mother who struggled to put food on the table in his book ‘There's No Such Thing as a Bad Kid.” Hear how he overcame those challenges and went on to play football at the University of Florida before later jumping into pro wrestling.

Welcome to the VOUS Church Podcast.   We are designed for deep connection, but we often settle for communication with our brains instead of our souls. Before we speak with words, we speak in frequencies. How can we learn to connect more deeply with each other and with God?   As we kick off VOUS Summer School, tune in as Pastor Erwin McManus walks through seven frequencies of communication.   Wherever you're listening from, you can partner with us at our next I Love My City outreach. As we gear up for the new school year, we have the opportunity to bless the children in our community with backpacks full of school supplies. Ya'll. This conversation is a special one. My friend Steffany Gretzinger is back on the show to talk about her brand new album The Narrow Way, the loss of her dad, and the project she created as a way to honor him called Faith of My Father. (PUDDLE. That's me.) Her work just feels like music we have needed. This conversation is beautiful and hard and I can't wait for you all to hear it.
