With multiple WR trades taking place in the last 24 hours – and a third if you go back 72 hours, should the Steelers be active in the market? A new name has risen up – Alec Pierce from the Colts. Pierce could be on his way out in a pretty crowded room in Indy. If it took a 4th round pick or a 4th round pick and a middling player, would you make the deal for the guy that led the league in yards per reception last season? KDKA TV's Bob Pompeani joined the show. Bob thinks the Steelers could go into the season with the WR room as it is, but isn't ruling out Omar Khan making a move as roster cuts take place. Paul Skenes is an All Star again. He was also pulled after just 78 pitches yesterday in one of the more dominant outings of his season. The sad thing is – did it matter? The guys wondered why Skenes wasn't publicly vocal about it. Skenes could have pitched a complete game and the Pirates still weren't scoring a run. Is there an amount of media pressure that could open Bob Nutting to making a significant change? Is the plan for Paul Skenes to go light leading up to next Tuesday to make sure he is eligible to pitch in the All Star Game? Is it bad on the Pirates to admit to getting Skenes ready for an exhibition game? Did Rob Manfred or someone from the league step in and ask them to do it? Would it be treated differently if the Pirates were in a playoff chase? BREAKING: Penn State hockey has landed Gavin McKenna, the top prospect in the 2026 NHL Draft. Weekend Review.

Is GM Ben Cherington focused on adding hitting at the trade deadline, and what could a star pitcher like Mitch Keller net them in return? Is it safe to assume Cherington will be back next year considering he's manning this trade deadline for owner Bob Nutting? Is it a certainty Andrew Heaney gets traded considering Johan Oviedo is making his way back from injury and Bubba Chandler and Hunter Barco are waiting in Triple-A? Where is Dauri Moreta? And why has the Pirates defense been so much better since Don Kelly took over as manager from Derek Shelton? Noah answers those questions and more.

PG columnist Jason Mackey joined the show. The guys asked Jason about the story brewing about Luis Ortiz and a potential gambling investigation. Investigators are looking 2 individual pitches in this story that apparently altered betting markets. The red-hot Pirates have won 6 straight games, but how long can they keep this going? Jason said this run does not change his mind about the current landscape of their front office. At what point should Ben Cherington be vindicated for his work? Jason does not trust Cherington to make notable trades involving Mitch Keller or David Bednar if those opportunities arise later this month. Jason fully expects Don Kelly to be back next season, but how much credit should Cherington get for that? Going back to the Derek Shelton firing, Jason believes it was a Bob Nutting call to make that change 38 games in. What should the expectation be for Spencer Horwitz?

Jason talked to Jeff Passan of ESPN and there "is no indication" Bob Nutting is going to sell. Passan thinks the 2027 baseball season is 'in peril" because media rights deals haven't been finalized and a cap and floor is more likely to be considered in the CBA after 2026. He doesn't like capping the amount of money players can make.

Why is he still here? The managerial change to Don Kelly gave the team a bit of a spark, but still didn't turn it into a winning ballclub. At the halfway point of the season, the Pirates are 32-50. What has gone so wrong this season? Chris said the real story is about Bob Nutting, but not in the way you may expect. Chris went through a couple of notable owners in sports that showed a true identity. It seems like the GM is safe when he shouldn't be. How many more times can we watch Ben Cherington screw something up? We struggled to think of many major positive moves made by GMBC in his tenure outside of Paul Skenes and Bailey Falter. What will the deadline look like this year? Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray reacted to the words from Aaron Rodgers the other day, stating that it will likely be his final season. Ray does think this all has a chance to work out, which could mean a respectable showing in the playoffs and maybe even a win. Ray doesn't believe the Rodgers legacy hinges on what he does in Pittsburgh. How much pressure would Mike Tomlin be under if the Steelers can't win a playoff game? Ray thinks pressure could be put on Omar Khan and Andy Weidl to circle that next QB. A few quick hitters for Ray before he said goodbye involving Jaylen Warren, Calvin Austin and TJ Watt. Will either Jaylen Warren or Kaleb Johnson threaten the 1,000-yard mark? Can DK Metcalf get over the 1,000-yard threshold that's been a problem for Steelers receivers including George Pickens in recent years? And how many sacks will T.J. Watt record? Our duo tackles those questions, plus some Penguins topics. Can GM Kyle Dubas and new coach Dan Muse return this club to Stanley Cup caliber in short order? Or is there too big a gap with the back-to-back champion Florida Panthers right now? What should we make of conflicting reports about Evgeni Malkin's future? Will this season definitely be his last in the NHL? Or could he come back for another chance to win next to Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang? And how seriously should we take a potential sale of the team back to Mario Lemieux and Ron Burkle?
