As the Ibiza summer season quickly approaches, renovations are happening thick and fast here in San Antonio and across the White Isle as we eagerly await your return to our little island. At Café Mambo, we're no exception with only 2 months left before we open our doors again here on the iconic Sunset Strip. Until then Ryan McDermott is back once again with his handpicked Hottest tracks of the month. This month's music includes new tracks from ANOTR, Cristoph, Nolek, Prunk, Mr. Belt & Wezol, to name a few plus a special Mambo Memory courtesy of DJ Falcon & Thomas Bangalter. Also featured on this month's show are the legendary Deep Dish, serving up 30 minutes of their favourite tracks as they join us for the Café Mambo guest mix. Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer duo "Dubfire" and Sharam, known as Deep Dish, built a celebrated legacy based on innovation. After their breakthrough remix of De'Lacy's "Hideaway" in 1995, Deep Dish became highly sought-after remixers and won a Grammy Award for "Best Remixed Recording" in 2002 for their remix of Dido's "Thank You." With their latest reunion, both "Flashdance" and the sequel single "Say Hello" have been reworked for modern dancefloors. And with plenty of new music on the way in 2025, it seems Deep Dish have no plans of slowing down anytime soon. We are Café Mambo… We are Ibiza! 'Voyage and Discovery' by Conor O'Brien is an account of the sailor and travel-writer's journey by boat to the White Isle where they moored up in Ibiza harbour for almost a year in 1932. His vivid descriptions of town and country life, as well as the landscapes of the island, are quite riveting. Ibiza's Barbary Press has just brought out a new edition of the book and in this episode I'm joined by publisher Martin Davies. You can meet Martin and other distinguished speakers at the official launch: 7.30pm on 20 December at Sa Nostra Sala, Carrer d'Arago 17, Ibiza Town.
Will Clarke is a DJ and producer as famed for his blistering beats as he is for his beautiful beard. Recognised for his distinct sound and energy behind the decks, Will's bass-heavy sound has graced festivals like the Dirtybird Campout in the US and clubs like The Warehouse Project in the UK. Now splitting his time between the UK and Detroit, Will took the time out of his busy schedule to not only tell us how he first got started in the industry, but he also shared stories of how getting to know his local record shop employees led to his first gigs on the White Isle of Ibiza aged 16 and how his own podcast has become such a massive success.FOLLOW US Instagram: @houseculturenetSpotify: HouseCulture - Perfect PlaylistOnline: www.houseculture.net|| Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/houseculture. The Groove's journey started in 2017, when he joined Capadi Rebels, a promotion agency located in Ibiza, Spain. Being a promoter, The Groove quickly familiarized himself with the party scene on the island, working for the biggest clubs such as Amnesia, Pacha, Hi Ibiza, Privilege, Eden. While working for such clubs, he was continuously observing DJs and was highly fascinated and motivated to one day start his own journey. However, it was not until 2022 when the Groove finally bought his mixer to turn his passion into a reality. In those 5 years, the early influences of the party scene in Ibiza were blended with the special underground scene of Berlin Germany, where he frequently partied for 3 years. Nowadays, both influences can be found in his DJ mixes, combining two different worlds in one sound, which can be seen in the highly diversified sets, a mixture of House, Tech-House, Deep-House, Afro-House, Afro-Tech, Indie-Dance, Indie-Disco – in other words everything within House and its subgenres. While inspirations are always present in his sound, The Groove have always preferred to follow his own path rather than to follow the industry trends, staying true to himself and to his selections. At the moment, The Groove resides in Berlin. He is a resident of Ibiza Stardust Radio, a leading radio station in the White Isle, where he came up with his own concept, Funk It Up, spinning funky and groovy beats, between House, Disco, and in-betweens. Besides that, the Groove regularly releases in Soundcloud another concept, In the Moment, bringing in timeless sounds, old and new, and revealing his playful and joyful character that surrounds him. Besides that, he created another concept, The Groove and Friends, which stands for the events that he has played in different venues. Beautiful set. True House Stories Podcast with special guests by Lenny Fontana
TRUE HOUSE STORIES® W/ SAM DIVINE # 104 Sam Divine is a DJ that knows exactly what to play and when to play it. The hours she spent rifling through vinyl in the warehouse of Chemical Records, where Sam once worked as a house buyer, gives her an insurmountable understanding of the genre. Having played nearly every club in Ibiza – including residencies at Ushuaia, Amnesia and Sankeys – and landed at top-end festivals, there are few who can offer a house music education like Sam Divine. Last year, she racked up over a hundred gigs and is well on track to exceed that in 2017, having already hit up the likes of Europe, North America and Asia. And her reputation for energising a dancefloor has been acknowledged by her inclusion in Pete Tong's Selector Series for Radio 1. A late starter, Sam took up DJing at 21 – learning to mix in her mum's garden shed. Her breakthrough came soon after with a DJ competition and landed her first residency at a club in Weston-super-Mare, where she was also the main booker, while also working in record stores. In 2005, after swapping Bristol for Ibiza, Sam became a vital component of San Antonio's west end (where this year she makes a triumphant return as a resident for Defected at Eden) and has spent every season on the White Isle ever since. During this time, Divine also began working with Defected, who in 2009 signed her to their artist roster. A weekly warm-up at Mambo ensued, opening for legendary names like Kenny Dope and Frankie Knuckles, as well as hosting the weekly Defected Radio show that currently holds the #2 spot on iTunes in the UK Music Podcasts chart. The real turning point, however, came when she played We Are FSTVL in 2013. “I dropped a mix the night before and everyone went mad for it; the tent went from nothing to one-in-one-out within half an hour,” she explains. “After that, the bookings just went nuts.” With her tireless work ethic, this summer, Sam will play Tomorrowland, Eastern Electrics, Defected Croatia, SW4, and Creamfields. This year also marks the 10-year anniversary of La Vita, the annual DJ charity night that she helped to launch and has so far raised £35,000 for Breast Cancer Research. Sam also launched her own label D-Vine Sounds back in 2015, which this year she will showcase with a stage at We Are FSTVL, dates in Ibiza and a boat party at Defected Croatia. Recently, Sam has also begun to flirt with production; her first major release, a remix of garage anthem ‘Flowers' with production partner Curtis Gabriel, hit #1 on both Traxsource and Beatport. Last year's ‘Confessions' was her first release on Defected, while her ‘Sam Divine In The House' compilation featured further productions and went #1 on iTunes' Dance chart. This summer she dropped ‘In Da Nation' EP with Cassimm on DFTD. Sam Divine's work ethic has seen her more than earn her stripes on the scene. A dedicated army of fans now spreads across the globe as her uplifting house sets captivate audiences everywhere she takes to the booth. With an unwavering love of music and tireless dedication to her craft, Sam is living proof you can achieve pretty much anything you set your mind to – and no one can hold her back.

A native of Sète in Southern France, Rio's fascination with disco music began at an early age. A renowned producer, DJ and label owner, Rio has taken this passion to become one of the House music industry's major players. Discovering House music in the 90s, pushed Rio behind the decks, crossing paths with DJs Brown Sugar and Niko De Luka, with whom he founded the label Suka Records back in 2008. By 2012, Rio joined the might Stuttgart-based music group, HOUSESSESION; it was here that he created his own label, VAMOS MUSIC. Signing well-renowned artists on the scene including the likes of: Robbie Riviera, Ron Carroll, Cece Peniston, Federico Scavo, Robin S, Peter Gelderblom and Antoine Clamaran to name a few, has seen the label grow and become a force to be reckoned with, its releases regularly feature on Beatport. Alongside the main label, Rio promotes his music with his very own Vamos radio show, broadcast internationally, notably on IBIZA RADIO ONE. More recently Rio has branched out with sublabels, CHECK IN RECORDINGS, catering to the underground market and VAMOS TALENTS, providing a platform for new and emerging artists. As an artist, Rio's productions have received support from the likes of legendary New York DJ Roger Sanchez, Mark Knight and David Guetta. His unique blend of Latin and Disco inflected sounds has seen his flagship track “EN EL MAR” released on BOB SINCLAR's YELLOW PRODUCTIONS / AFRICANISM label, alongside other releases on major industry labels including: David Penn's Urbana Recordings, Stealth, Pacha, Subliminal, and the mighty TOOLROOM. An international DJ, Rio's sets encompass Deep House, House to Tech House and a touch of tribal. A member of the IBIZA WORLD CLUB TOUR, and representing the Spanish Brand BACCANALI IBIZA, has seen him play globally and across Europe. From regular appearances on the line-up of London's La Divina to the blissful sunshine of the White Isle's famous Bora Bora Beach, IBIZA, Rio is a mainstay on the scene. A talented producer, Rio released his own album, LIVE 4 2 DAY, back in 2015 on HOUSESESSIONS. He followed this up with ALL ABOUT US (2016) and WE ARE ALL THE SAME, both released on his VAMOS imprint. These releases cemented him as production tour-de-force, regularly landing him in the Beatport top 100. One notable track was “Yo Me Voy”, a collaboration with DJ Kone & Marc Palacios, which neared the Beatport top 10. Fast forward to today, Rio is exploring South American flavours, fusing tribal and tech house vibes in his latest collaboration with Colombian producer DJ Wady. With his finger firmly on the pulse of current trends, summer 2020 has seen the launch of MARIN MUSIC, a collaboration with French publisher KAA PRODUCTION, which focuses purely on streaming platforms. An accomplished artist, DJ and producer, Rio is constantly evolving and continuing to deliver solid productions and mesmerising DJ sets.
Boris on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 7/11/22 About Boris - It's all about the music. New York stalwart and beloved DJ, Boris, lives by that statement each and every day. He is a man wearing many hats; one as a touring DJ, another as a producer dynamo and lastly as a label boss of Transmit Recordings. A career forged over decades of long nights in the Big Apple's most revered rooms. From the infamous Roxy to Crobar to the once dominating Pacha NY on 46th Street, Boris maintained a following so devout, so loyal they were truly ‘Believers'. Pioneering a music movement in a city filled with those who have so little time to pay attention, Boris has been a production powerhouse when not performing for the masses. He's been tapped by industry leaders such as Carl Cox for his label Intec, Dubfire for his label Sci-Tec, Paco Osuna and his Mindshake records, amongst countless others. His ability behind the decks and in the studio has not only made him a New York favorite, but his music has taken him places all around the world ranging from the shores of Playa Del Carmen to the magical White Isle known as Ibiza. In this first ever Line-Up *live* with an audience at the Glastonbury festival 2022, a can or two of lager may have been supped at the Crow's Nest stage... Still, Bafta winning kids TV presenters Dick and Dom, share their love of Balearic beats and heavy metal, and explain why raving on the White Isle will always be their happy place. This episode also rightly extolls the added joy of a chip naan. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Lars Delfstein - Deep, Club, lounge and beach house beats with love
We had the honour of welcoming in Mr Dan Tait this week. Long term friend of Lars, this 'coach' to the star DJs has a phenomenal track record himself. DJing back in Ibiza in the 1990s, holding a long term residency at Pacha, setting up and playing on multiple radio stations on the White Isle, playing almost every club in London, designing and developing some of the industry standard equipment with PioneerDJ, running the artist side of PioneerDJ Europe, flying around the world to interview stars and DJs whom he's coached and worked with, training new DJs and being an all-round nice fella. Dan played out some funky tracks to fit with the Funky vibes our Lars plays, and absolutely brought the house down. It'll be an honour to have him back but, in the meantime, enjoy this show, enjoy it again and tell all your friends about it so they can enjoy it as well......
Following a heavy weekend on the White Isle, the boys are back with a bang! We have finally heard some huge news regarding the Takeover of the club...rumour has it a certain Laurence Bassini has secured the deal for a reported 35 million pounds! Listen in as we delve into the past of Laurence Bassini and give you our honest opinions on the potential Takeover and what this could mean for the club's future. As always we round up the weekly news from around our beloved club. A rare, revealing interview with the long-time Circoloco resident. For many years, Andrew Grant was one of Circoloco's most ubiquitous DJs. He landed on the White Isle in the summer of 2001, having spent a few months in Sheffield, England, DJing whenever and wherever he could. Yet, in spite of his widespread public appearances, Grant's personal accounts of his past are little known given his reclusive character—until now. For this week's exchange, host Marcus Barnes engaged in a candid conversation with Andrew Grant about his experiences grinding in the clubbing Mecca, teaching lacrosse in the northern UK and even working briefly as DC10's light technician. Raised in Baltimore, Grant's first musical memories involved listening to Baltimore club radio stations late at night. Back then, he wasn't allowed to listen to radio, so he'd have to do so quietly and away from prying ears. He recalls catching the Basement Boys remix of the Crystal Waters club classic, “Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless),” on MTV, feeling inspired by the fact these artists on the TV were from his hometown. When Grant first began DJing in 1988, he was spinning hip-hop records at house parties and in basements across the city. “I had a box of records and a decent pair of headphones,” he tells Barnes. “I felt like I was doing the right thing.” It wasn't until a visit to NYC club Twilo in the mid-'90s that he really began to engage with dance music. A few years down the line, in Ibiza, Grant caught his first big break—he was invited to play a Thursday morning after party at DC10. Not long after, he was playing primetime slots on a Monday at Circoloco, before becoming the first American resident of the iconic Ibiza brand when he was just 24-years-old.
Our talk of Ibiza inevitably led us to this extra special show - extended in length without losing quality - That's what she said! It was an absolute pleasure to be joined again with Mark Richards(Ricoh)and new to the Small Hours crew, Lou (Juan) Gibbs, and it seemed fitting to bring them both on before they depart to the White Isle next month - THE LUCKY BUGGERS. Expect some heartfelt moments, mega mixes and plenty of laughs - all the things you might expect from the next Ibiza trip (IT'S ON THE GREEN LIST).
Luca Averna and Ale Doretto are two Venezians living in Ibiza that aim to capture the true musical spirit of the island under their Residentes Balearicos guise. Often collaborating with Chris Coco, Luca and Ale maintain the breezy and free energy so synonymous with the White Isle through their polished productions, deftly moving between languid beach side chillers to intoxicating house music. With two superb outings on Kenneth Bager’s Music For Dreams label, the pair now make an offering on Shades Of Sound with the Postales EP released this Friday 2nd April https://shadesofsoundmusic.bandcamp.com/album/residentes-balearicos-postales-ep https://soundcloud.com/user-45004009

One of the musical pioneers, bringing house music to Spain, Cesar de Melero has been at the forefront of the international DJ scene since the early 80’s. One of the pillars of forging what was to become known as the Balearic sound, he was one of the first to play acid house on the White Isle, with his 10 year long residency at the world famous KU club in Ibiza. He was also one of the first Djs to play at both Space & Pacha. Not to mention his 6 year residency at Amnesia for, “people From Ibiza”.1987 saw the opening of Ars Estudio in Barcelona. Spain’s first house club, with Cesar as DJ & promoter. The club even attracted Keith Haring, who created one of his paintings live. In 1992, “Night Moves”, a collaboration with brother Chito, entered the British charts, and started Cesar’s successful & long production career. Cesar, along with some Parisian friends started Pro-Zak Trax one of the most recognised labels of the French house scene.

Its guest mix time again, and may I present to you some local legends to me brothers and duo Luke and Joel Heaton. A truly epic trance mix for you this week from these two. Shall be gracing the white isle with both of them for the Hindsight Pres. Island Of Trance week in Ibiza this coming Sept so if you are there between 9th to 16th sept keep your eyes peeled for us. Im taking a break for 2 weeks, so you shall be hearing back from me in mid June! Until then I leave you in the hands of these talented guys! ;) xXx Luke and Joel Heaton bio..... In 2001 at the tender age of 14 these two boys were introduced to the hard dance scene thanks to listening to Mark EG and M Zone tapes passed down from older friends and siblings, this was the start of their musical ambition which has progressed massively over the years. Although both underage Luke and Joel started to attend dance events such as Slinky when they were just 16, this then progressed to bigger nights out and to a wider selection of different dance music genres up and down the country, as their love and passion for the music grew so did their interest in mixing. The main musical focal points in the Luke and Joels sets are Trance and Hardtrance; however their abilitys to be able play almost anything has also seen them rock dance floors with House, Hardstyle and European Hardcore, this is something they feel is necessary these days as it opens more doors and allows them to play more freely. In 2010 dreams became reality when the boys were asked by Nick the Kid to play in Ibiza for Hindsight, this saw them playing in some major clubs, one of them being the mighty Eden, where they played for Judgement Sundays alongside a star studded line up of DJs they could only dream of. As well as playing for other huge nights such as Tidy in Ibiza, they have also rocked pool parties and various other clubs and bars on the White Isle and gained themselves a fan base of people. They have since been back twice to play in Ibiza, this includes Hindsight's massive September 2011 trip – An Island of Trance. Luke and Joel are thrilled to have been asked to return to Ibiza in 2012, In June and September which will see them play at some of the worlds biggest clubs and alongside some of the worlds biggest DJs yet again. The duo's ambitions don't stop at mixing, however, they have also been working extremely hard on the production side of music. In 2011 they visited the Organ Donors studio and produced a track with them which has been released on Implosion Digital, they have also spent time with other local producers, having a more hands on approach and learning different styles which they hope will open up new ideas and visions to the pair until they are satisfied with creating that sound and feel they both love. With Future sounds hosting a range of nights, and them both starting to become regular faces for Hindsight, not forgetting to mention the pairs return to Ibiza in June and September as well as many more other events to be playing for this year, the pair have come a long way from that first set in an empty room. They continue to work hard at what they love and push themselves in their mixing and producing, 2012 is set to be yet another amazing year for the Heatons! The Franetic Podcast - Electronica | Trance | Psy | Hard Dance
Named after a little hobby of mine, this weeks podcast is URBEX!A real mish mash for this episode..... Starting off pretty gently with some proggy/uplifting Trance and winding up to some harder edged Trance.Loads of promo tracks on this podcast including one co-produced by a friend of mine Tek-tonic alongside bit of a local legend Digital Self (LogOne). The track is called Extron and is rammed full of White Isle vibes, with the season beginning in Ibiza its definetly got the makings of an anthem!
