There's a lot to love about being an introvert. We often have rich inner lives and thrive in solitary pursuits, and we also like people. We're also often creative and introspective. In a world where introversion is often misunderstood, it can be difficult to celebrate our gifts and strengths as introverts. But by embracing who we are, we can find great satisfaction and happiness in our lives. Let's celebrate introversion!  Let's get to know our strengths and needs.  Let's bust myths such as introversion is shyness or that introverts don't like people. You have great gifts!  Do you know what they are?  Are you using them?  Are you known for them? Be proud!  Celebrate who you are!Through this podcast, I've had the opportunity to meet so many amazing introverts. Some are introvert coaches and authors, some are successful professionals that have learned to embrace their introversion. And as an introvert, I have such an amazing time having these deep one-on-one conversations with these incredible individuals and making these connections. We talk about strengths, needs, strategies for success, and even do some myth-busting. I ask every guest to share their own introverted strengths or superpower or what they have also seen in others.  Here are links to the original episodes from today's featured clips: Terrance Lee, Sophie Morris, Steve Friedman, Matt Johnson, Tracy Guillet, Thea Orozco, Kristy Vail, Victoria Lioznyansky, Stacey Roshan, Matthew Pollard, Julia Beauchamp Kraft.Contact the host of the Quiet and Strong Podcast:David HallAuthor, Speaker, Educator, Podcasterquietandstrong.comGobio.link/quietandstrongdavid@quietandstrong.comTake the FREE Personality Assessment:Typefinder Personality AssessmentFollow David on your favorite social platform:Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | LinkedInGet David's book: Minding Your Time: Time Management, Productivity, and Success, Especially for IntrovertsYou may also like:Quiet & Strong Merchandise

Terrance Lee, AKA The Introvert Leader, has taken on many leadership and management roles as an introvert at several Fortune 500 companies in the defense industry, with proven results. He has made it his mission to help empower other introverts to tap into their own inner leadership potential. Introducing Terrance Lee What problem do you solve? He wants to solve the problem of people assuming that introverts are lacking something. What three problems do you solve? Can introverts be effective leaders? He breaks myths about introverts. What are some strengths that introverts have? Show Notes: People think about the loudest voices when they think about leaders, but there are things about leaders that go unnoticed. Leaders need to be good observers. Someone who doesn't talk a lot may be practicing active listening. People confuse what introverted and extroverted really mean. It's about stimulus. Introverts gain energy from being alone. Extroverts gain energy from being around other people. It's a myth that introverts are quiet. Terrance used to be terrified of speaking in public, but he got to where he is by being thrown into the fire. Sometimes a situation that seems like the worst is a great opportunity.  Emotional intelligence is really important in leadership. High empathy helps teams work together. Terrance had trouble feeling comfortable in being his authentic self. He felt like he had to become someone else. Terrance's book came from him thinking for so long that he couldn't be a leader. He thought to himself that there must be other people who have the same struggles. His book is divided into 10 chapters. Each chapter focuses on a different leadership principle that is supported by 3 pillars. Terrance Lee's Recharge Round What habit do you think has led to success in your life? Terrance is consistent and open to learning. If you had one do-over, what would it be? He would change his thinking that he had to change himself and would have discovered the confidence to stand up for himself sooner. Hear what they love it about, what they don't, how they rate it, and how it can advance your work and life. You'll learn why it was selected to be part of the curated list of Book Insights, and what's new with the book or the author currently. This week, Tom and Karin offer you insight on: *Terrance shares about the biases he has seen in his work with Fortune 500 companies and their inability to see introverts as leaders. *The difference between introverts and extroverts, and the environments in which each thrives best. *The ways in which introverts are uniquely equipped for roles as CEOs, managers and other leadership positions. Want quick saveable, shareable bullet points on today's podcast? Check out the Memo: https://memod.com/KarinRichey/quiet-with-terrance-lee-4045 Show Notes: Terrance Lee AKA "the introvert leader" wrote the book "Quiet Voice, Fearless Leader". Book Insights are formal, structured summary, analysis and exploration of a bestselling nonfiction book. Each episode is read by a professional voice actor and will introduce a new title selected specifically for its value to your work and life. Book Lounge episodes are casual discussions about the book, the author, and anything else that comes along through the course of conversation. It's more of a broad chat about how the book relates to current, everyday life. Should I listen to both the Book Insight and the Book Lounge episode on the same book? Sure! Each episode works fine as a standalone piece, so no requirement to listen to both or to listen in any particular order, but we definitely recommend (and think you'll enjoy!) both. Think of it like reading a book and liking it so much you want to chat about it on the porch with a friend. That is the vibe at the Book Lounge. Like what you hear? #045 - Learn how to develop self-confidence and be a leader in your business as an introvert. My guest on this episode, Terrance Lee, AKA The Introvert Leader, had always avoided taking on leadership roles in his life.  At the age of 13, an experience occurred which caused him to doubt his ability to speak in front of people, and caused him to shy away from the spotlight.  This worked for Terrance, until he eventually had to learn leadership skills by necessity at his first engineering job out of college.  When he had been working in his first role for a short time, his mentor put in his two-week notice.  Terrance then found out that he had to take his place presenting to a group of experienced engineers and pilots for a highly technical review.  Despite feeling extremely nervous, the meeting that Terrance led went well; which gave him a giant confidence boost.Since then, Terrance has taken on many leadership and management roles as an introvert at several Fortune 500 companies in the defense industry, with proven results.  He utilizes his platform to empower introverts to tap into their own inner leadership potential, and is never shy about sharing the tips that he has learned throughout his journey.Terrance shares great tips for success as an introvert in business on this episode.Be sure to follow Terrance on Instagram and be on the lookout for his new book.Sign up for the my newsletter, the UnsalesyGram, to get tips on how to sell real estate successfully without being "salesy."  Sign up here.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/unsalesperson)
