Send us a textWhat iconic things from millennial “yesteryear” do you miss? We kick off this super nostalgic episode with an ode to simpler times. Let's take a moment of collective silence for: the mall (in general), Borders Books (and more!), cheap concert tickets (like $50!??), and makeup when it was creative (what a time to be alive!). Our faves and fails of the week are all about those things that we miss as we amp up to share our favorite reads from the early to mid 2000's.Ashley and Liz present their top five college-age reads that influenced them during this pivotal time, and helped shape them into the readers (and people!) they are today. We bring memoirs, sci-fi reads, some horror and even some feminist theory to the table, put all ten titles in our trusty BATB Beanie and pick one to reread with all of you! Which one will it be?! We can't wait to share it with you! And, don't worry! The host hits 99 episodes and brings back six-time guest Brandon Moore for a raw, chaotic, and petty conversation about authenticity, work husbands, and love languages that lowkey expose your trauma. They talk podcast milestones, content burnout, being too busy to fake personality, and the real cost of trying to be consistent while running a full production company. Also covered: RadioShack hoe chronicles, petty beef with edutainment, using the word “watermelon people,” and why women need to keep the same energy when their boyfriend's around. It's funny, foul, and probably a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Shot Clock: Best pick up line on Los wins.Another relationship perspective.
The original Streams of Consciousness crew is back. Nelson, Eroc, and Jay Carter go full unfiltered—talking cremation schemes, nicknames in the black book, and how they'd like to be honored by old flings and frat boys alike. Then it's into politics: Trump's speedrun to dictatorship, DEI rollback, economic hypocrisy, and whether Candace Owens actually hates Black people or just Black culture. Also on deck: gimbal chickens, basket weaving degrees, redneck energy, Umar Johnson slander, and who's really to blame when democracy starts biting back. Petty, political, and pure chaos.
In this episode, Keyon Starr returns to the show to break down personal growth, spiritual shifts, and why the rollback of DEI is messing with everybody—from Black creatives to the LGBTQ+ community. We get into church hurt, gay pride in a post-DEI world, and when to leave the club (or church) because your ex showed up. From giving up drinking and getting baptized to losing friends along the way, Keyon gets candid about his journey. We also joke about breastfeeding glances, closet homies, gender identity politics, and being confident enough to wear a banana hammock (or not). Real convo, funny moments, and a reminder that you can be both saved and spicy.
Joined by Steven Joyner, the host dives into coded racism, comedy in slurs, and why moon cricket might be the most offensive and creative insult of all time. The two also talk about Black business support vs. Black pricing expectations—who actually pays full rate, and what it really means to be a Black-owned creator in a cheap-ass culture.Later, they get into podcast guest delusion, fantasy lifestyles, breast pump politics, free-the-titty contradictions, and the real reason people live online but fail in real life. It's a conversation on ego, image, and why everybody wants to be heard—but not everyone got something to say.
Joined by Lime Light Vibes performer and artist Bajsh, the two talk fake-deep artistry, easing people into faith, SoundCloud gems, and why open mics shouldn't be karaoke nights. They get into Kendrick vs. Drake, Kanye's genius, and why AI might kill the soul of music. Bajsh opens up about growing through trauma, learning to love himself, and why “Come Get Me” almost didn't drop.In the Patreon, they talk exes, villain arcs, spiritual baggage, and the vision behind Brave Angel. Real convo, real bars, and way too many mac and cheese metaphors.

The Millennial Reset: Your Millennial Mental Health Safe Space
Send us a textThis week's episode of The Millennial Reset is dedicated to all of my millennial besties that are ready to face their fears, and finally do whatever it takes to not only overcome burnout, but to give yourself permission to do things differently! It's for those that are either just getting started with their "reset" moment, or in the trenches of doing the inner work as we speak. I share my 3 big tips for what to anticipate and how to navigate the murky waters of changing your life from the inside OUT:Rest. And then rest more. The complete and utter exhaustion that comes with burnout recovery is actually expected (and not a bad thing). It means that your body is finally entering into parasympathetic healing mode, where your immune system and physiological processes begin to return to homeostatis, which takes time! Rather than getting caught up in your thoughts that tell you that you're lazy or too unproductive, just allow yourself to rest without guilt and shame! Start with Intentions (instead of goals). Goals tend to create more added pressure that can cause us to slip back into fight or flight. When we start with intentions, or how you want to FEEL, we can begin to make decisions based on emotions instead of thoughts. You can always start with the goal, but then ask yourself "why" five times to start getting down to the root emotion. Gift Yourself with Emotional Experiences. Once you identify your desired emotion, it's up to you to start giving your brain the experiences to realize that emotion time and time again. When you create your desired emotion internally, this has a profound impact on the resulting thoughts and actions. Rather than trying to change our THOUGHTS, which requires incredible self-discipline, we can simply give ourselves experiences that make us feel the way we want to feel, so that our brain becomes more and more wired for that feeling and the associated mindset. If you're looking for that added extra level of support, check out my 30-day Millennial Mindset Makeover Challenge! When I realized that I had gone from burnout to complete identity crisis, I had NO clue what was next for me in life. And while I'm still a work in progress myself, the best thing I ever did for myself is to give myself permission to explore the other options that didn't even exist 20 years ago when I decided on my career path in the first place! Send us a Text Message. What do you miss most about the 90's? Is it the Saturday morning cartoons? Is it the throwback songs/movies/TV shows? That's what we're talking about this week on The Millennial Reset...how can we get back some semblance of the normalcy that we all seem to associate to the 90s/2000s. Join me as we take a trip down nostalgia lane, and I share my three mindset-based tips for how we can begin to create more simplicity, calm, and connection in our modern-day crazy lives: Creating opportunities to move out of self-isolation and fostering more authentic connections.Purposefully building in a digital detox to foster good dopamine.Leveraging your positive memories to foster a desired inner state of more peace, calm, and slower living. Wes and Nick tackle a song that everyone remembers and tries to forget. Well surprise here it is again. Background:Friday co-writer Patrice Wilson, a co-founder of ARK Music Factory, explained that he "wrote the lyrics on a Thursday night going into a Friday. I was writing different songs all night and was like, 'Wow, I've been up a long time and it's Friday.' And I was like, wow, it is Friday!"[14][15]An ARK Music Factory client told Black's mother about the company's production services in late 2010; Black was 13 at the time, and living in the Anaheim Hills planned community in Anaheim, California.[16][17] Black's mother, Georgina Kelly, paid ARK Music $4,000 for a song and accompanying video that included a choice of two pre-written songs "Super Woman" and "Friday". According to Kelly, the payment covered one half or less of the production costs of the music video, and Black's family could have paid nothing in exchange for giving up all rights to the song.[16][18] Black chose "Friday", as "Super Woman" "was about adult love–I haven't experienced that yet". "I felt like it was my personality in that song".[19][20] ARK Music extensively used the pitch-correcting software Auto-Tune.[21] Although Kelly had some doubts over the quality of the lyrics, Black assured her that "she sang it as they wrote it."[17]Support the show:
