SOMETHING HAS SURVIVED! Back in Spring 2020- the early days of the pandemic- Kieran, Paul and I sat down to record a 'DVD commentary'-style episode on Steven Spielberg's 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park' and- just under two years later- here it is for your ear-holes. You can expect us to dwell on the strengths and weaknesses of both this film and the series as a whole (we are not kind to this film's third act, for example), to think ahead on 'Jurassic World: Dominion', as well as talking about Pete Postlethwaite only taking two bullets to the island, dinosaurs and dog-houses and much, much more.

Jurassic Park was a huge deal. Especially to people like me who were kids when it was released. So the sequel to Jurassic Park was also a huge deal. I remember my excitement level was through the roof. Seeing the trailers and knowing there were two T-Rexes and more dinosaurs was almost too much to handle. Did it meet expectations? This one was a fun episode and we hope you enjoy it. Let us know what you think of The Lost World: Jurassic Park! Unfortunately, our video recording didn't work out this week so while I did upload this episode to YouTube, it's audio only but feel free to check it out here. The year was 1997, and something had survived! For their latest commentary, MovieFilm boys travel to Site B and traverse The Lost World: Jurassic Park! Two decades after its release, the Steven Spielberg dino-sequel remains a polarizing entry in the Jurassic canon, and we've embarked on a paleontological dig to decide if it's worthy of that rep. The hallmark of early science fiction was the pulp magazines, which continued the tradition of larger-than-life adventure stories. Despite the sometimes silly and over-the-top writing style, this was an important step in the development of the genre. Book recommendation: The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Sign up to be a Patron here (LINK) https://www.patreon.com/Timandrews This week we welcome actress, author & comedian, Geri Jewell. She shares fun stories from her early days in stand up comedy, acting, and how she was cast in her roles as “Geri” on “The Facts of Life” and “Jewel” on “Deadwood”. We loved having her as a guest! Jewell shattered the glass ceiling for individuals with disabilities when she was cast by Norman Lear (Who is currently sponsoring her bid for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame) in the hit series "The Facts of Life" and then again in the HBO series "Deadwood," and now the long awaited DEADWOOD film, based on the Golden Globe and Emmy-winning series is set in 1876 brings closure for fans by jumping forward 13 years to 1889. The film is available now on HBO, HBO NOW, HBO GO and HBO On Demand. In addition, Geri is honored to appear in the upcoming feature film CAROL OF THE BELLS, co-starring friends and colleagues, Donna Mills, Lee Purcell and Donna Pescow, for director Joey Travolta and his Inclusion Films. The film is poised to disrupt the movie-making industry by dispelling mistaken myths about adults with unique developmental abilities and characteristics. On screen as well as off, given 70% of the crew was comprised of people with developmental disabilities.
