When it was said that this entry would be going back to it's horror roots, I was intrigued... I haven't had that since the original film and Fallen Kingdom, so I'm glad they came back to their senses. But they didn't quite do that, because they're STILL playing around on this island. Enjoy, people.

The dinosaurs are back! The first trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth - the seventh installment of the Jurassic franchise - has finally hit theaters .This movie had a FAST road to production, with Jurassic World Dominion only coming out three years ago and this movie only being announced about 18 months ago. For context, the time gap between Fallen Kingdom and Dominion was FOUR years. The first Jurassic Park is a top 15 movie of all-time for me... but this franchise has basically now disappointed me five straight times. I don't think Lost World is horrible and I have some fun with the first Jurassic World but the pairing of David Koepp and Gareth Edwards has always given me some hope for this entry. I've liked all of Edwards' movies but haven't quite loved ay of them, but he's certainly the kind of director who can inject some worthy visuals back into this franchise and bring the thrills. The question has been: are the characters and story going to live up to the visuals though? Those areas have been my issue with all of his films so far, but with Koepp on board, I've had some hope. Also, because this movie shot large chunks in Thailand, I'm immediately going to be pumped to see it. Does the trailer give the impression that this is going to be the best movie in the franchise since the original? Find out in this initial reaction!

James III (Black Men Can't Jump [In Hollywood] podcast) and William (Bill) DeMeritt (actor and writer) join Flixwatcher to review James' choice Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) is the fifth instalment in the Jurassic Park film series. Directed by J. A. (The Impossible) Bayona, Fallen Kingdom sees Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, BD Wong, and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles from the previous films. Dinosaurs are facing extinction (again) due to volcanic eruption on Isla Nublar. Dr. Ian Malcolm (Goldblum) testifies that the dinosaurs should be left to perish. However, John Hammond's former partner Sir Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell) has other ideas and wants to clone the remaining dinosaurs under the guise of rescuing them. Cue Claire (Dallas Howard) recruiting former Velociraptor trainer Grady (Pratt) to help capture the last surviving Velociraptor. As with all the Jurassic Park films, wherever there are dinosaurs, things never go to plan. Despite there being more dinosaurs and more action Fallen Kingdom fails to match or even come close to being as good as Jurassic Park. Recommendability scores for Fallen Kingdom were not very high. Repeat viewing scores were helped a little by James having seen it five times at the cinema and slightly higher engagement scores give an overall rating of 3.34. SAMMY SHELDON (Costume Designer) was born in Manchester and started her career at the Royal Exchange Theatre as a costume maker, then studied Costume Design at Wimbledon School of Art 1990 to 1993. After graduating with a degree, she moved into designing costumes for pop promos and advertising, before becoming an assistant designer on films including Ridley Scott's & and Jake Scott's. She went on to design costumes for Ridley Scott's Hawk and the mockumentary & starring Orlando Bloom. Sammy has received BAFTA Film nominations for her work on Morten Tyldum's “The Imitation Game”, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. “The Merchant of starring Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons, and a BAFTA TV nomination for the BBC's modern adaptation of The Canterbury Tales: The wife of Bath”. Costume Designers Guild Award nominations for Excellence in Period Film “The Imitation Game”, and Excellence in Fantasy Film “Ex Machina”, “X-Men: First Class” and “V for Vendetta”. Other film credits include “Kick-Ass Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. Differs more recent film credits include “Assassin's Creed” directed by Justin Kurzel, Marvels “ Ant- Man” directed by Peyton Reed, “Annihilation” directed by Alex Garland and “Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom” directed by J A Bayon. Her most recent films are “Eternals“ directed by Chloe Zhao, and "Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania."
