Media benoemd in de intocht: Story of Thor (Beyond Oasis), Syberia, Secret Files: Tunguska, Capcom Fighting Collection en de Marvel vs Capcom reeks, The Punisher, Death Stranding, Luigi's Mansion games, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Alan Wake II, Metal Black, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.Media en topics onder andere benoemd in de veldslag: Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Project Zero 2, Dead Space games, Dragon Age: Veilguard (ja ja, dat is een gevoelig onderwerp!), Black Myth: Wukong, Jaleel White (Urkel), Transformers, Chained Echoes en First Press Games, Ninja Warriors (Again) en Astro Bot.Relevante links: Polygon artikel over Panzer Dragoon Saga: https://www.polygon.com/2018/4/30/17286042/panzer-dragoon-saga-sega-saturn-oral-historyVooruitblik op 2024 ter vergelijk: https://www.retrogamepapa.nl/podcast/queeste-54-vooruitblik-2024/

Respectful game criticism can be tough, especially when being critical. Alex Fraioli recently had to walk that line when creating a video criticizing the narratives and dialog of the 16-bit RPG love letters, Sea of Stars and Chained Echoes. I talk to him about his experience creating that video and about his hopes for creating his own RPG in the future. I don't play a lot of newer games but sometimes a game is recommended to me strong enough i have to play it and put it on the show. Nate a friend of mine kept telling me how much I would love this game, and how much of a love letter it was to the 16 Bit RPGs. This game feels like a classic RPG from that era. Something that would of fit perfectly on the SNES back in the day. Come join us as we dig deep into this RPG. Starring Mike Albertin, Nathan McLellan, and Blake Anglin. This week, we're thrilled to welcome Mike to the conversation as we delve into the captivating realm of RPGs. The highly anticipated Baldur's Gate 3 has transcended expectations, passing our mental litmus test and devouring our precious free hours. Additionally, Orrin lauds the virtues of Remnant 2, while Kevin adeptly dissects and compares Night Dive's recent endeavors, encompassing the Rise of the Triad Remaster and the Quake 2 remaster. Aaron shares his immersive experience with the indie JRPG, Chained Echoes, and Orrin engages in contemplation over indie puzzler Viewfinder. Kevin provides a thought-provoking message regarding The Last of Us Part One's debut on PC, adding a serious note to our discussions. Finally, we get real nerdy and talk about what makes for a good modern rpg and list a few of our favorites. Then I tell you why I think I was struggling with Chained Echoes along with some basic tips I've learned after playing for hours. Then, I spend 10 minutes griping about work and being an underpaid musician! How better to finish off an episode, than by complaning for half of it? Thanks as always for listening AFS Squad! Like last episode, we start out with sneakers (Laser Blue 90s)... move onto video games (Chained Echoes) and then digress, going on to talk about.... my spotty job history? Hey there Cubies! It is another update episode. Chris has been on a tear going through games like they are tissue paper this year. Games like Escape Academy and Chained Echoes! We also wanted to take this time to further discuss Final Fantasy 16 since we both have finished this title. During the second half of the episode we dive deep into the themes and our thoughts on this new edition to the franchise. So minor spoiler warning on that part. There is nothing quite as exciting as having a composer as a guest on Rhythm Encounter. After offering much praise for Chained Echoes and its soundtrack, we wanted to get to know up-and-comer Eddie Marianukroh, the composer of said game. In today's episode of Rhythm Encounter, we talk to Eddie regarding his work as a composer, and ask him to share some game music that matters to him. In contrast, co-hosts Patrick Gann and Greg Delmage share two of their favorite Chained Echoes tunes and get some behind-the-scenes factoids from Eddie regarding these tracks and more!Featuring: Patrick Gann, Greg Delmage, with special guest Eddie Marianukroh; Edited by Jono LoganLinks for this episode Eddie Marianukroh's website Our Chained Echoes game review Interview with Matthias Linda on Chained Echoes Tracklist0:10:54 - A World Betwixt (Yasunori Mitsuda, arr. It's a games heavy episode this week as we go through some of the games we've played over the last month including: Chained Echoes, Against the Storm, Steamworld Build, Deliver Us Mars and many more! But first we have a long discussion on AI, the growing list of game delays and GAAS games ending. Also is The Day Before a real game? All that and more! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Peebs makes his return this week to discuss his recent trophy whoring, he joins Webby and Darren in discussing the latest games played and the latest news including the Xbox Dev direct with some exciting games shown. Games discussed this week include: Hi-Fi Rush, Persona 4 Golden, Stranger of Paradise, Goldeneye, Chained Echoes, Monster Hunter Rise, Vampire Survivors, Forspoken demo PC, The Quarry, and much more. https://www.patreon.com/360gamercast https://360gamercast.com/ https://discord.gg/CqDMSg9 https://www.facebook.com/groups/360gamercast/ https://twitter.com/Webby360G https://twitter.com/360GamerCast All Access Patrons - John
While we have plenty of actual video games to discuss this week, the recent premiere of 'The Last of Us' on HBO steals the spotlight this week. The show is off to a strong start so we take a minute (or 30) to talk about that first impression and the potential that it holds in the coming weeks (or even years). In the first segment though, we check in with Krispy as he continues to play Tunic (one of our 2022 game of the year contenders) and Chris Davis explains his split feelings on Generation Zero, an open-world FPS that came out in 2018. Nick discusses The Forest and delivers an important update to his Chained Echoes impressions from last week.
Kat and Nadia are both out this week, so Eric shifts into a different gear to chat about the mech-fantasy RPG Chained Echoes with Friends at the Table's Austin Walker! The pair discuss 2022's late-in-the-year surprise hit and why it's captured their hearts, as well as their Steam Decks. All that, plus: A primer on the ongoing Wizards of the Coast / OGL news Who would you want making a Hunter x Hunter game? A surprise end-of-pod guest appearance All that and more on this week's episode of Axe of the Blood God. Check it out!
Captain BurkeBlack is here to chat about Skull & Bones getting delayed (again) Ubisoft imploding, tabletop gaming and a whole lot of Warhammer 40K lore. Awesome Games Done Quick also concluded this week, bringing a massive $2.5 million to charity. Dungeons & Dragon/Magic the Gathering creator: Wizards of the Coast are in the negative PR hole with some bone headed adjustments to their licensing. ECO roleplaying, Company of Heroes 3, and Chained Echoes are also on the docket!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
With our 'Game of the Year' content behind us, we finally have some time to talk about the games we've been playing in the background for the past few weeks. Nolan introduces Dark and Darker which is currently in development but undergoing Alpha playtests; Despite it's early nature, it seems to have serious potential. Nick finally has a chance to talk about Chained Echoes after weeks of digging into this beautiful throwback to retro JRPGs. On top of that, he finally tore through Chernobylite, a game that has been on his backlog for years. Brad dishes on Citizen Sleeper - a game that could have easily been a GOTY contender had he played it in 2022. In the 2nd segment, we talk shady draft trades and ask the question: When is a game too big to fail critically? Will Starfield fall into the same trap as Cyberpunk 2077?
Go go go Zilla. Kat has returned to the Axe of the Blood God, and all she got was a nasty cough. Well, that and memories that'll last a lifetime, or something like that. She's come back home just in time to enjoy a very chill episode of the show, which delves into reader mail. In other words…it's letter tiiime, it's letter tiiime! Kick back and listen as Kat, Nadia, and Eric answer questions about games they initially loved, then cooled down on (and vice versa), which games they regret not playing in 2022, what they're looking forward to in 2023, and lots more. Also in this episode: The Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters are coming to consoles! There's a deluxe box set! Aaaand it's gone Chained Echoes is pretty baller Dragon Quest Treasures has no idea what it's doing, but that's part of the fun If your Christmas party doesn't involve poisoning yourself with homemade bucket wine, don't call it a Christmas party In the Post Show The gang continues to chill as they discuss the movies Kat watched on the plane on her way home from Amsterdam. The discussion quickly slides into all-out movie discourse, which means a hot takes about Pixar movies and Christopher Nolan. God bless us, everyone.
The universe has survived another bout of Geoff Keighly's Game Awards, where the real awards are the memes mined from cynical adults' Twitter timelines. Does that work grammatically? Eh, whatever. Point is, Geoff Keighly threw a party and now there are new RPGs to talk about. Which Nadia and Eric do with the help of very special guest Lucas White. Another important topic of discussion: The overlooked RPG gems of 2022. A whole heap of games dropped way too late to get that sweet, sweet December recognition, and the Blood God crew does its best to give them a nice boost. Also in this episode: The real treasure in Dragon Quest Treasures are the Slime friends we made along the way. Holy crap! Hades II is coming! Holy crap! Chained Echoes is really good! A riveting tale of Sonic the Hedgehog and election fraud.
