Legendary Ole Miss Rebel, Donte Moncrief joins The Mitch Davis Show to talk about his career and preview the matchup with Penn State for his beloved Ole Miss Rebels.
Donte Moncrief doesn't seem old enough to be the honorary captain for Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl. But Moncrief's final game as a Rebel came a decade ago, and while he's still training, he's out of football after seven years in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers and others. These days, Moncrief is a father of five living in Florida. But he'll forever be remembered as an all-time Ole Miss great and record-setting receiver. Moncrief, a former four-star recruit from Raliegh, starred for Ole Miss from 2011-13. He finished with 156 receptions for 2,371 yards and 20 touchdowns. He still holds the program records for receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. He was an All-SEC and All-American selection as a Rebel. Moncrief, as a senior, had a school-record-tying five 100-yard receiving games, including 113 yards on six receptions in the Music City Bowl victory. He finished the year with 59 receptions for 938 yards and six touchdowns. From #FeedMoncrief to his owning of Mississippi State cornerback Jonathan Banks in the 2012 Egg Bowl (173 receiving yards, three touchdowns), Moncrief covers it all in this all-new edition of The Flagship, powered today by Riverland Roofing.Contact Riverland Roofing today for all your roofing needs: 662.644.4297 OR RiverlandRoofing.com.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Donte joins Zach to talk about Ole Miss' bowl game
Yesterday, a host compared the Allen Robinson acquisition to Donte Moncrief – the worst Steelers free agent move in franchise history. We then got a different tune this morning and were told we misunderstood. Rams insider Jourdan Rodrigue from The Athletic joined the show. Jourdan had the insight on what happened with Allen Robinson with the Rams and she said he wasn't in the right role in the offense. She described the Rams going after Robinson as a panic and impulse move. She said it was difficult to install Robinson into the offense because Matt Stafford was dealing with injuries last off-season and the team turned into a total disaster. Jourdan said he has to mold to whatever offense he is in, but being in LA last year made it hard for anyone to have success. She said it seems like the Steelers are bringing him into a safe situation where he won't be ‘the guy' in an offense like he was a few years ago. Jourdan described Robinson as a total pro with the media and a great guy off the field.
The New England Patriots managed to defeat the Arizona Cardinals thanks to some stellar defense that limited phenom quarterback Kyler Murray and stud receiver DeAndre Hopkins, and thanks to some incredible special teams play from Donte Moncrief, Gunner Olszewski, Jake Bailey, and Nick Folk. No thanks to an offense that was led by Cam Newton in one of his worst performances as a member of the Patriots, and one that relied almost entirely on Damien Harris, Jakobi Meyers, and James White. And yet the Patriots won and their post-season hopes are alive! But for how much longer? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It is my philosophy that family always comes first. That may be hard to believe after i have made public on BTSC of some of my tales of debauchery and shenanigans that have earned me the name Mr. 2 AM. However, as much as I love the Steelers (and I mean LOVE the Steelers), I would drop them quicker then Donte Moncrief would a pass if it came down to them and my family. But I am fortunate to have a family that makes sure that the black-and-gold is on the list of family priorities. There have been some fun stories surrounding it as well. 11/4/19Season 10, Episode 38 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Monday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday home win over the Indianapolis Colts from a quick reaction standpoint. We then quickly go over the Steelers decision to part ways with wide receiver Donte Moncrief on Saturday and also go over the health of the team exiting the Sunday game.As usual, Alex and I then get into our long recap of the Steelers game and that discussion begins with our thoughts on the play of the offense. We talk about several individual players and plays from Sunday and obviously spend a lot of time talking about quarterback Mason Rudolph. We discuss how Sunday’s game was the best that wide receiver James Washington has had to date and also breakdown his long reception. After wrapping up our thoughts on the Steelers offense, Alex and I move over to the defensive side of the football. We go over the big play made by safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, the touchdowns allowed and more. We discuss the Sunday play of several individual defensive players and that includes outside linebacker Bud Dupree. Our talk about Dupree turns into more talk about whether the team can keep him past this season. We talk about the decisions made by head coach Mike Tomlin late in the Sunday game and the job he’s done so far this season. We also talk some about special teams and how that phase contributed on Sunday.Alex and I finally close out this show like we close out most episodes and that’s by answering several email questions we received from listeners. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!
10/1/19Season 10, Episode 24 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Tuesday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to recapping the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday Night Football home game win against the Cincinnati Bengals.Alex and I quickly start with the injuries suffered during the Monday night and who all was inactive before diving deeper into our game analysis. The Steelers out-schemed the Bengals on both sides of the football Monday night so Alex and I start with our thoughts on the play of the offense and specifically how the wildcat was used against the Bengals defense and why it worked. We also talk about how quarterback Mason Rudolph is still not pushing the football down the field regularly. We go over his passing distances from Monday night and talk about a few of the wide receivers.Alex and I discuss the snaps played and not played Monday night by wide receivers Donte Moncrief and Ryan Switzer. Part of that conversation revolves around the Steelers losing some crucial compensatory draft pick value for 2020 this past week and how they can make up fort that by cutting Moncrief before Week 10.After spending a lot of time on the Steelers offense, Alex and I switch over to giving our early thoughts on the play of the Pittsburgh defense Monday night against the Bengals. There were eight sacks and a few turnovers to discuss so Alex and I do just that.Alex and I move forward to take a quick look ahead at the Steelers Week 5 home game against the Baltimore Ravens and the importance of that. We also tell you where our heads are at right now following the Steelers first win of 2019.Alex and I finally close out this long show by answering several email questions we received from listeners. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!

Last night's loss at the hands of the reigning Super Bowl champion Patriots was not what Steeler Nation had hoped for to say the least, even more so, it wasn't what anyone expected! A terrible offensive showing, yet another defensive dismantling from Tom Brady, and only a wimpy field goal to show for it all. Tim Benz and Stan Savran have some thoughts on the Patriots dink and dunk/crossing pattern success and why the Steelers should implement it, and Gerry Dulac has some harsh criticism for receiver Donte Moncrief, who tallied three receptions for seven yards and labeled last night's loss in Week 1 as, "a wake up call."

You've found the Crowley Show and Ben Roethlisberger is giving it up babyyyy. Well not really, he's actually being very professional in a shocking twist. Crowley takes a listen to some things he said in his one on one with the big Pomp, and some of the things Ben said to the orgy of reporters today at OTA's. The biggest takeaway? Donte Moncrief has a new nickname that's troublesome. We also get into the AB two face tweet which was clearly about Big Ben.
