What Jesus Did, He Wants to Do Through You By Myrtle House Community Church This past Sunday, we were deeply blessed by Julian Richards, Senior Leader of New Wine Cymru, who brought a transformative message. Julian challenged us to consider this simple yet profound truth: "Everything that Jesus did for people in the pages of Scripture, He wants to do for you—and through you." As followers of Christ, we are called to live out His ministry in our everyday lives. Julian encouraged us to reflect on how we can develop a deeper relationship with the person of the Holy Spirit and allow Him to work in us and through us, just as Jesus did. A Relationship with the Holy Spirit The key to living a Spirit-filled life is building a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. This relationship helps us explore and apply what we see Jesus do in Scripture to our own lives. What's striking is that many of Jesus' miracles didn't happen in a religious setting—they took place in the middle of real life. Julian reminded us that: Jesus' first miracle, turning water into wine, happened at a wedding—a community event. His ministry often unfolded in the marketplace, in homes, or on the streets, not just in the synagogue. This serves as a powerful reminder that God works outside the walls of the church. His Spirit moves in the ordinary, everyday spaces of life. Hearing the Holy Spirit Julian also shared practical insights on recognizing the voice of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit often speaks to us through: A thought or idea that persists and won't go away. A deep desire or passion. A burden on our hearts to act in faith and obedience. When we listen to the Spirit and respond to His leading, incredible things can happen. Kingdom Living in the Real World Julian also emphasized the importance of understanding the Kingdom of God and the culture we carry as believers. There is no poverty in heaven—poverty is an evil that God calls us to stand against. The culture we work in determines how much of the Kingdom we experience. This means that as we cultivate a Kingdom mindset, we can see God's power and provision breaking through in our lives and communities. When we align our lives with the Holy Spirit's guidance, we become vessels through which God's Kingdom can flow. This opens the door for life-changing healings, restoration, and transformation in our midst. A Call to Action Julian encouraged us to look at the pages of Scripture and ask: What did Jesus do for His people? How did He minister to them? How can I let the Holy Spirit do the same through me? This message is a powerful reminder that the Gospel is not just for Sunday mornings—it's for every moment of every day. As we develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit and step out in faith, we will see the Kingdom of God break into our world in miraculous ways. Let's commit to seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance and embracing the opportunities He gives us to bring healing, hope, and transformation to the lives of those around us. Looking Ahead Myrtle House Community Church is excited for what God is doing in this season. Let's carry this message with us as we live out our faith in the real world, trusting that Jesus still works through His people today.

This week, Danny Busch Danny delivered an incredible teaching in our series looking at What Jesus Said and What Jesus Did. The passage we studied was Mark 1:21-34 and the authority of Jesus. Rather than impose His authority over others, Jesus offers something different. Jesus extends an invitation to everyone to accept His authority and live under his rule in the Kingdom of God. The authority Jesus offers gives us hope to believe, hope that in our darkest and most difficult moments, God sees us and is with us. When we accept His authority and when we believe and belong, there is a responsibility given to us to practice the way of Jesus and practice the values of the new kingdom. We are to go and share the good news with others, inviting more people into the kingdom, breaking down the barriers that might be keeping people from belonging in the kingdom. We are to use the authority Jesus gives us the same way we see Him use it, not over creation, but for creation, and for people.

Pastor Steve Ogden asks not "What Would Jesus Do?" ... but tells "What Jesus Did". Jesus as Our Example Philippians 2:5-11 Philippians 2:5-11 English Standard Version (ESV) 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Jesus is the Ultimate Example of Humility - Jesus is both fully God and fully man, yet he set aside his divine power to serve mankind - Jesus recognized that pain and humiliation were a part of his calling - He deserved to be treated like a king but was treated like a criminal instead - This should propel us to lay down our entitlements and serve God regardless of status or cost Jesus is the Ultimate Example of Sacrificial Submission - Although he did not want to (Luke 22:42), Jesus submitted to the most humiliating and painful death imaginable - The people called for the death of Jesus and the leaders of the day mocked him (Matthew 27), yet Jesus chose to die for them - Jesus totally submitted to the will of the Father, regardless of the personal cost - Believers today must recognize that there will be sacrifice in their Christian walk. Life will not always be easy, but perseverance leads to incredible reward. Jesus is the Ultimate Example of Purpose - The first reward of following God's calling regardless of cost is that of purpose - Jesus knew his purpose was to save man from sin. He paid the ultimate price to accomplish this purpose. - All Christians are called to be a light to the world. We are called to make disciples (Matthew 28), and be a witness (Acts 1) - Although the road will be challenging, the purpose one finds in serving God is an incredible gift. Jesus is the Ultimate Reward - After his humiliating death, Jesus rose again and was exalted. - Christ's reward was simply restoration, our reward is the gift of eternity in heaven - If we pursue God, regardless of the cost, we will receive the ultimate reward This Scripture serves as an encouragement to all who believe because it shows us how much we mean to God, and it provides the ultimate example of how we should strive to live our lives today.

As we continue in our series on What Jesus Did on the Cross, Dr. Mitchell will next look at How God sees men. The scriptures we will be looking at are Ps.53 and Romans 3:10-18. These scriptures reveal the heart of man as God sees it. Here we see that God's holy righteous character must be vindicated. But How? God's solution was the cross of Christ. The blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross vindicated the righteousness of God. This freed God to righteously show His mercy, grace and love to sinful man with no accusation His being unrighteous. Dr. Mitchell again takes us to several scriptures to reveal what they say about the heart of man. Let's open our Bible to Psalm 53 with Dr. Mitchell as it reveals how God sees mankind. When I wrote my novel, Deo Volente: God Willing, I did a lot of research on slavery in the Roman Empire. Slaves at that time were mostly people captured from all the lands the Romans conquered. What’s different from first century slavery than slavery in early American history and the human trafficking slave trade that goes on now, is that a slave could be freed if one paid a sum of money for the person. That’s called redemption. They were redeemed for usually 500 denarii. A denarius was a day’s wages. So, someone had to work 500 days to redeem a slave. What Jesus Did for You and Me Paul explains it very nicely in the Book of Romans… Keep reading in my blog where there are links to dig deeper.... Episode 99 In this important show, I will be addressing a topic that affects all believers. That topic is being an active Christian. We as followers of Jesus Christ need to be active in the world and be a light in our communities, workplaces, and anywhere else that we may be. If we really believe in God and want to do His will, then we need to show the world, Jesus Christ, through our actions. Saying I have faith in God and yet not reaching out to help a neighbor or be a blessing in someone’s life can be contradicting. All we have to do is look at What Jesus Did while He was on the earth to see how we can behave. My prayer is that this message will spark something in you to step up and step out to be a light in our hurting world. God Bless and Love To You All! *BIBLE GIVE AWAY ONCE WE REACH EPISODE 100!! This lesson begins our discussion of the Lord's second three hours on the cross (from noon to 3:00 p.m., or was called the sixth to ninth hours). This time frame began with an eerie, mysterious darkness over the land, and an intense darkness over the Lord Himself as He was separated, for the first and only time ever, from fellowship with the Father. What were God's reasons for the darkness that shrouded the suffering of His Son from human eyes for three hours? If Jesus is Deity (and He is), then why would He ask why God had forsaken Him (His fourth saying from the cross)? Did He not know? Yes, He knew! In fact, His knowledge of that mandatory separation, when He literally became the curse of sin for us, was the whole reason for His agony in Gethsemane! Also, the preincarnate Christ answered His own question in the prophetic preview of His cross-work recorded in Psalm 22. Actually, by asking the question, He fulfilled yet one more Messianic prophecy! One further point of interest: Jesus asked the question so the world would know He paid the FULL wages of death for our sin, which includes not only physical death, but also spiritual deathm (separation from God)! Deep, theological lesson made easy to understand and to deepen faith and appreciation for "What Jesus Did for YOU" . . . and for me. Critical lesson for every believer; convicting lesson to use evangelistically with every non-believer. This lesson in written form (with Homework Questions) is in our "Caldwell Commentary" series, "The Life of Christ Vol. 8 (available through www.scripturetruth.com).
Luke 4:14-44 The post #2 What Jesus Did appeared first on Trinity Church Mount Barker.
We often believe a lie that says "Nobody understands me," but in fact, Jesus does! Because He is physically Mary's son, He is 100% human. Jesus is also legally Joseph's son, and as such, is the Heir of Abraham and David and is King of the Jews. Fundamentally, however, Jesus is God's Son. He is the 100% divine King of Kings. He is the King of the Kingdom of Heaven and the fulfillment of scripture. The name Jesus means "Yahweh is salvation," and the title given to Him, Immanuel, means “God with us." Both His common name and His title given here in Matthew 1 indicate two profound truths: -Jesus specifies what He does--> “God saves”-Immanuel specifies who He is -->“God with us”We can not separate WHO Jesus was and WHAT Jesus Did.We can not walk in salvation without walking in relationship. We pray the same prayer as 13th-century English bishop Saint Richard of Chi-chester:Thanks be to Thee, my Lord Jesus ChristFor all the benefits Thou hast given me,For all the pains and insults Thou hast borne for me.O most merciful Redeemer, friend and brother,May I know Thee more clearly,Love Thee more dearly,Follow Thee more nearly.Support the show (https://heritagefellowship.churchcenter.com/giving)

This week we’ll learn together What Jesus Did at The Resurrection.

Download an MP3 of this message April 6 & 7, 2019 - The Last Supper is one of the most remembered moments in Jesus’ ministry. Jesus and His closest followers shared the Passover Meal. They broke bread together, they sang psalms together and talked through the night. But how many of us know what else happened during that meal? This weekend we learn What Jesus Did, at The Last Supper.
61. What Jesus Did
A better word for Discipleship is Apprenticeship - To Be With Jesus - Become Like Jesus - To do What Jesus Did. These are important aspects to being a disciple of Jesus as we do this Christian walk.
Times of hardship, trial and sorrow don’t have to harden us. They can actually make us softer, wiser, more compassionate. In their midst, we can actually find a joy that is both glorious and unspeakable when we remember who we are in Jesus and what He has done for us.
In Ephesians 2:1-10, Paul continues to discuss the wealth that we as believers have available to us in Christ. We have been given everything we need for life and godliness, because of what Jesus has done. The focus of scripture is what Jesus has done for you, not what you can do or have done for God. as we look at our text we'll see what sin does, what Jesus did, and what God is doing.
