After mourning the loss of Nash and the Wells', Barry and Cisco work on a solution to save Iris, Kamilla, and Singh by opening a portal to the Mirrorverse. Meanwhile, in the Mirrorverse, Iris plans a rendezvous with Kamilla and Singh. Barry's returned speed from the Artificial Speed Force gives him speed-thinking, resulting in him being able to predict outcomes, but at the cost of his emotions. In the process, he exposes Eva as a mirror duplicate in the middle of a live television broadcast, forcing her to flee. When Barry decides to prioritize saving Iris while disregarding the others, Cisco, Frost and Allegra team up to stop him, but fail. In the Mirrorverse, Kamilla and Singh start having seizures since they were sent there with the Mirror Gun. Barry opens the portal, forcing Iris to come through and leaves Singh and Kamilla behind, however, after coming through, Iris starts having seizures. After Barry realizes he has endangered his friends and wife by relying on his speed-thinking to stop Eva, he disables the Artificial Speed Force, putting him back to having his speed in danger of depleting. Elsewhere, Eva decides to replace all of Central City with mirror duplicates and starts by replacing CCPD officer Daisy Korber. Flashback to 20 years ago: Eobard Thawne replaces the original Harrison Wells and kills him, placing his body in a grave. How do you determine when it’s the right time to give notice and head into the next chapter of life? When it comes down to it, there’s no right or wrong age to move on from the workforce. In this episode, I’m speaking with Barry Farber, who is a professor of psychology and education at Columbia Teachers College. Not only does Barry maintain a robust private practice today, but he’s also written a wide array of books and research papers in the field of psychology. We’ll hear from his wisdom, experience, and insights as we explore the questions to consider while planning for the next major transition. In this episode, we discuss: - The remarkable reason why Barry continues full-time work in his seventies - Why we must consider how life transitions affect our loved ones - When Barry will feel certain that it’s time to leave his work behind - How to approach difficult conversations about retirement with your partner - Why life after work requires a need for changing our patterns - The four types of therapy that can help people cope with an overwhelming world - How Barry’s background in psychology has made life transitions easier for him
In this episode. We explore America’s ongoing and persistent issues when it comes to race and social justice... in particular how race can be weaponized… sometimes with deadly consequences. Our guest is Barry Thomas, Professional Educator – Community Advocate & Activist in Omaha, Nebraska, who is concerned about issues related to race within the country… and has dedicated his time to addressing these issues. When Barry and I initially talked, it was a few days after the arrest of the two men accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery, the man who was chased down and killed in Georgia while on a jog.Since the recording… our nation now faces other incidents of the weaponizing of race… including a white woman dubbed Central Park Becky threatening to tell police that a black man was threatening her… after he asked her to leash her dog in a sensitive area of the park. The second incident caught on camera this week ended far more tragically. George Floyd lost his life while in police custody, after an officer took him to the ground and held a knee on his neck for several minutes. On mobile phone video… Floyd can be heard saying that he cannot breathe. The officer did not move… and soon Floyd was not moving, either.Though these incidents happened after our interview… they are relevant to our discussion. This episode is Part One of my interview with Barry Thomas… as we explore the role of cell phone video, social media, and media coverage of these incidents.Next week, we’ll delve deeper into the soul of the U.S…. and why these incidents and issues persist.

In this episode of the ISG Smartalks™ podcast, we look back at ISG’s Automation Summit London (11-12 September). Barry Matthews catches up with four leading automation experts at the conference to find out their thoughts on the current state of technology and how they see automation impacting business over the next decade. Barry speaks with Professor Leslie Willcocks of the London School of Economics, who has co-authored 65 books on automation. Willcocks believes we’ll see exponential growth in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic process automation (RPA) businesses, leading to mergers and consolidations in the sector. He dismisses the idea that RPA will merely patch up the old world of business tech and instead sees it as foundational for a new way of doing business, allowing enterprises that focus on technological convergence to separate themselves from their competitors. Next, Barry finds Craig Jones, Partner – Advisor Relations, of Wipro with whom he explores how RPA has become more strategic and transformative. Jones predicts we will see more businesses move to cognitive AI in the next ten years, believing it will lead to huge efficiencies, but only if businesses have the right data and the right structure in place. When Barry sits down with Sajesh Gopinath, General Manager, of UST Global they discuss how businesses are evolving in their relationships with automation – moving from proofs of concept to demanding clear results on what the technology can deliver. Gopinath believes those enterprises that have automated systems to orchestrate processes and information across the enterprise will become market leaders. Finally, Barry tracks down Serkan Ibrahim, Sales Director, of IPSoft who predicts a convergence of capabilities and vendors in the automation market over the next ten years. Despite some disappointment in RPA, Ibrahim still sees it as the best gateway to digital transformation – and believes we’re only just starting to see its true capabilities. Tune in to hear an honest conversation with four of the field’s experts about automation, cryptocurrencies and the power of change in the market today.

Saturday, May 3rd, 1980. Miami County, Kansas. Mark and Barry, ages 17 and 14, decide to go fishing near Bull Creek in Miami County, Kansas, maybe an hour’s drive south of Kansas City. The area is deserted countryside—soon to be underwater when a Marais des Cygnes Reservoir Project is completed. After they tire of fishing, they go off to explore the nearby woods and fields. When Barry sees a fresh mound of dirt near the creek, the two teens walk over to look more closely. Ominously, the mound is 10 inches high, 6 feet long, and 4 feet wide. When they spot a piece of denim and a red shirt sticking out from the dirt, they poke gingerly at the cloth. They recoil at terrible smell and cry out “It’s a body.” Poking some more, they see what looks like it might be a knee. That’s finally enough for our young adventurers. Barry yells “We better go tell my mom” as they race away from the scene. I posted the links to the sources used for this episode below. Inspector of fun, Founder, President, and CEO of KAVU, Barry Barr, learned his business ways early in life on a fishing boat in the Bering Sea. Years as a boat captain prepared Barry to plan ahead with sourcing and production, and how to pick his crew wisely by hiring long and firing fast. When Barry started KAVU, he mostly used his own funds, and didn't take a personal paycheck for two years. We learn the story behind the name KAVU, and the meaning and philosophy behind Klear Above Visibility Unlimited.
Team Flash meet Nora, Barry and Iris' daughter from the future. While Iris seems happy to see her, Barry is concerned that Nora could alter history by interacting with her parents younger selves. The Team encounter a new metahuman named Gridlock, who has the ability to harness kinetic energy. During the encounter, Barry suits up in a variety of his previous costumes. When Barry tries to send Nora home, Wally reveals to them that Nora's blood is saturated with negative tachyons, which react with the Speed Force preventing her from time travelling. Barry asks Nora what happens to him in the future, with Nora revealing he never returned after the crisis and she has lived her entire life with her mom. Gridlock causes the plane he is on to fall out of the sky, so Barry, Nora, Wally and Cisco go to stop it. Before they leave, Nora gives Barry his signature ring that contains a brand new suit. They phase the plane through buildings allowing it to land safely in the river. When Gridlock is being transported to prison, the transport vehicle is attacked and a masked individual enters the truck telling Gridlock that he plans to wipe out all metahumans before approaching him with a blade shaped like the Flash’s insignia.
If you want a thing to happen – get a woman in! Says the Crypto Diva! When Barry met Jillian Godsil, journalist, fintech expert, commentator and champion of Women in Blockchain, he described the meeting as a whirlwind that knocked him off his feet. Jillian is undoubtedly a force of nature – refreshingly upfront about how recently she’s moved into this space, but certainly making her mark ever since through sheer force of personality. This episode is less an interview, more a conversation during which subjects as diverse as the Irish Celtic Tiger, the financial crash that saw the country the butt of blame for problems across Europe, divorce, bankruptcy and suicide, ‘unthinking’ the old ways and starting again, and fixing the education system, all find a place. The driving force behind Jillian’s fascination for blockchain and cryptocurrency? Techy brains doing clever things; the disruptive side, taking on traditional sluggish elements like insurance, accountancy and the banks; and the ‘hippy-dippy’ element, making the world a better place. While reportedly only 4% of jobs across blockchain are filled by women, the capacity to change lives through education cannot be underestimated. As Jillian says, we need more women in this ‘wonderful, transformational, life-changing technological sector’ – who wouldn’t want to change the world for the better? Her sign off message for women to get involved in blockchain and cryptocurrency is simple: Just, have a go, why don’t you?

Sometimes you just have to dive into an idea and get it done. A little over a year ago, many of you will remember that Scott Carney came on the show to talk about his book What Doesn't Kill Us. Toward the end of that conversation, he dropped a little bit of knowledge that made a light go on in my brain. "If you write 500 words a day 5 days a week, in a year you'll have a book." Boom. When Barry was editing the episode, he mentioned how bummed he was that we hadn't gotten to continue that part of the conversation a lot longer. This, my friends, is that moment expanded into a full episode. Scott has recently created a course called The Fine Print, that's much in the same vein. He let me have a sneak peek and we had a long chat about my favorite tips and guidance that he shares. What I loved is that we cover really practical things like how to promote your book whether or not you have a traditional publishing publicity team supporting you, the ins and outs of contracts and going from a magazine article to a book to an ongoing project that can live at the center of a writing business. There's a nice discount code in the episode for anyone who wants to check out the course. In addition, I spoke with Harmon Leon + Ted Rall about their book, Meet the Deplorables, which had Harmon Leon embedding in fringe communities leading up to the Trump election. We spoke about his interest in extremist communities and how he has built his own career around gonzo-style journalism, an interesting case study based on what Scott and I discussed in part one. Ted Rall joins as well to talk about his contribution of political cartoons and how he worked to expand and bring the material to life in his work. This week promises to be an epic listen, especially for those writing nonfiction, so enjoy! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Barry and Ralph train to defeat DeVoe, with Barry becoming annoyed at Ralph's apparent inability to be serious. The team manages to locate another bus meta, Janet Petty. When Barry and Ralph confront her, it is revealed that Petty can manipulate a person's gravitational pull, which she demonstrates on Barry. Fearing once again that Ralph is not taking things seriously, Barry refuses to work with him. Ralph reveals his comedic attitude is due to a difficult childhood where his father abandoned him, causing him to make jokes whenever he is scared or under pressure. Barry relents and they go to stop Janet at a gala event. Janet uses her powers on Barry, causing him to float into the atmosphere. Barry tells the team to trust Ralph to improvise. Ralph detains Janet, then becomes a giant airbag to allow Barry to land safely. DeVoe's wife discovers he has been drugging her, so she will continue to assist him. Breacher comes to Earth-1 to ask Cisco for help as some of his powers have failed. It is revealed that Harry still has access to Thawne's time vault, and he uses it to recharge the thinking cap and to talk to Gideon.

When Barry's speed is transferred from The Flash to his wife the only thing to do is "Run Iris, Run"! Harry is so obsessed with stopping DeVoe that he decides to replicate the accident that gave him his intelligence in the first place, and make himself a thinking cap. Cisco is the only one that thinks this is a horrible idea. And that causes a bit of tension in STAR Labs. It is especially troublesome to Ralph who is really feeling nervous about DeVoe getting closer to checking off the Elongated Man on his death list. The team gets a lucky break when they discover another bus meta, named Matthew Kim. This one transfers powers from metas into others and when confronted, gives Iris the Flash's speed. Now she is the hero and learns what it's like to have that power and responsibility. In the process she discovers where she's truly needed. Once Flash gets his speed back, they explain the situation to Kim who agrees to use their protection and help stop DeVoe. Jay and Josh find metas to say, "Come with me if you want to live!" on this week's episode of Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!

Ralph chooses to stop her, with damage being caused to power lines, landing a little girl in the hospital. Ralph feels remorse for his actions, but is comforted by Barry. Chayton escapes CCPD, going after the last Black Bison necklace held at the museum. Barry and Ralph confront her, with Chayton claiming the jewellery belonged to her family. About the show How much time do you spend in your business creating systems and figuring things out as you go along? So often in business we become reactive and we don’t even realize it. Get a new client, put the on a contact list. Get a lead from an online ad, create something on the contact list to differentiate that a lead from the client. Oftentimes, entrepreneurs don’t think ahead. When Barry and Catherine realized how much time they were spending being reactive and how much time in the day they were losing to getting and servicing clients, they realized they needed to stop, look at their systems and be proactive. Looking at all the services and thinking through what the client will need allows you to become proactive and create systems that make the back-end processes go faster. On this episode we’ll share some examples of how you can spend your time being reactive and how much time you’re wasting in business with that model. Then we’ll touch upon some questions to ask yourself to create systems you can easily work with in your business. Zoom comes to Barry and demands a race to determine who is faster, threatening to kill everyone Barry loves if he refuses. Wells realizes that Zoom stole a magnetar from Mercury Labs that will allow him to destroy every world in the multiverse if he and Barry can create enough energy from their race to power the device. When Barry refuses to back out, the team locks him in a containment cell for his own protection. The team develops their own successful plan to send Zoom back to Earth-2, but Joe is pulled in with him. On Earth-2, Zoom reveals to Joe that the man in the iron mask is the real Jay Garrick. Wally releases Barry to rescue Joe. Barry agrees to race Zoom if he returns Joe unharmed. As Barry and Zoom race, the magna tar begins to charge. However, Barry creates a time remnant of himself, who gives his life to stop the magna tar, while Barry takes out Zoom. Defeated, Zoom is then taken away by the Time Wraiths. The true Jay Garrick is revealed to be Henry's doppelgänger, which distresses Barry. Wells and Jesse return with Jay to Earth-2. Still feeling broken and defeated, Barry travels back in time and stops Reverse-Flash from killing his mother.

Synopsis: Right before the particle accelerator explosion, Joey Monteleone was thrown into a tar pit and left for dead. Sealed away, he is freed two years later with the ability to turn his body into molten tar. He sets out to get revenge on those who attempted to kill him. Meanwhile, Dr. Wells creates a device to syphon Barry’s speed energy and attaches it to his suit. He and Barry also successfully find a way to close the breaches of Earth-2. When Barry goes after Joey, the device works, and permanently steals a portion of Barry’s speed, slowing him down. Wells gives the energy to Zoom, who demands the rest. While going after Joey a second time, Iris is injured when Barry is too slow to save her. Watching Barry wrestle with the guilt of Iris’ injury, Wells confesses. Wells pleads his case, asking to be returned to Earth-2 and have Barry seal the breaches so Zoom cannot re-enter. After stopping Joey with an invention of Wells’, Barry realizes that Wells was only trying to save his daughter, which the rest of them would have done. The team informs Wells that he will return to Earth-2, but that Barry and Cisco will be going with him to save his daughter. Episode Description: Barry scours the city looking for Eddie, but must take a break to stop a robbery at the gold reserve. When Barry confronts the would be thief, they are both disoriented by an unknown psychological attack. Back at the lab, Barry describes the attack to Caitlin and Cisco when Iris walks in, confronting Barry about being the Flash. The thief attacks again, but Barry is able to stop him. The thief turns out to be General Eiling, who was under the mind control of the gorilla, Grodd. With a lead from Iris, Barry, Joe, and Cisco head into the sewers to look for Grodd. The trio realize that Grodd is getting smarter and larger, and during an attack Barry is knocked unconscious while Joe is kidnapped by Grodd. Cisco and Caitlin build Barry a device that will prevent Grodd from attacking him psychically. It works, but Grodd is too powerful and during a fight the device is damaged. Barry is able to fight off Grodd’s psychic attack and trick him into jumping in front of an on-coming train. Elsewhere, Wells works on a device that will allow him to return to his time. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) decides that she and Barry (Grant Gustin) need to move on from Ronnie (guest star Robbie Amell) and Iris (Candice Patton) and find new loves so she takes him for a night out at the local karaoke bar. Caitlin doesn‘t have any luck making a love connection but Barry meets Linda Park (guest star Malese Jow), a sports reporter for the Central City Picture News, and asks her out on a date. When Barry tells Iris he has a date, Iris is surprised by her reaction. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Ramon) considers Hartley‘s (guest star Andy Mientus) dangerous offer and the team searches for Shawna (guest star Britne Oldford), a meta-human with teleportation powers, who just busted her boyfriend Clay (guest star Micah Parker) out of Iron Heights. When Henry (guest star John Wesley Shipps) snoops around in an attempt to help Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Barry solve the crime, he ends up in the infirmary after getting roughed up by inmates.
Dr. Wells returns to his secret room, where it is revealed that he has been documenting Barry's growing abilities, and using his computer to look at events in the future. Barry arrives at a crime scene where the victim was murdered via electrocution, and charred beyond all recognition, suggesting a metahuman was involved. While investigating the victims identity, the team identifies a power drain in the city. When Barry arrives, he is attacked by Farooq Gibran, a man who has the ability to siphon electrical energy. The attack drains Barry of his speed, and when Wells checks his secret computer it reveals that there are no references to Barry or "The Flash" in the future, and thus the timeline is in danger of temporal paradox. Wells believes that Barry's body just needs an electrical jumpstart, and Farooq arrives at the lab while the team is attempting to help Barry.

Wells believes that Barry’s body just needs an electrical jumpstart, and Farooq arrives at the lab while the team is attempting to help Barry. The process does not appear to work, but Wells quickly realizes that Barry’s problem is psychological. When Farooq catches up to the team and Dr. Wells’ life is in danger, Barry overcomes his fear, connects to his speed on a cellular level and stops Farooq. Later, Dr. Wells takes a sample of Farooq’s blood to determine how he was able to absorb Barry’s abilities. Scott Worsley is the co-owner of the Film Buff, one Toronto's premiere movie stores, and gem on the Roncesvalles strip. When Barry heard that the Film Buff East at Queen and Greenwood was shutting down, he had to speak with Scott and pay tribute to an institution that had given so much joy to Hogtown cinephiles. Scott spoke with us about opening his small business all those years ago, curating Toronto's best film collection, and the virtues of art house entertainment. He also talked about championing a more personal retail experience, whether Toronto deserves to call itself a movie town, and why we need a Toronto-Montreal film summit.
