Tune in as Arthur's pal Anna hops back into their guest seat for a deep dive into Upload, the Prime Video series that follows a technologically advanced near-future in which people have figured out a way to, well, upload their consciousness into a digital afterlife. Running for three seasons since 2020, this show, which feels reminiscent of The Good Place, has been renewed for a fourth and final season. Talking points for today's episode include people's excessive fixation on Claudia Sulewski supposedly resembling Billie Eilish, the Likable Bro charisma that helps a star like Robbie Amell offset his worrisome filmography, Upload's thought-provoking lens on capitalism (albeit a lens that's clearly provided by liberals), and Arthur's vehement defense of the Nathan/Nora chemistry. Created by Greg Daniels, Upload stars Robbie Amell, Andy Allo, Allegra Edwards, Zainab Johnson, Kevin Bigley, Andrea Rosen, Owen Daniels, William B. Davis, Josh Banday, Jessica Tuck, Chris Williams, Elizabeth Bowen, Rhys Slack, Jordan Johnson-Hinds, Paulo Costanzo, Barclay Hope, Mackenzie Cardwell, Peter James Smith, Bassem Youssef, Jeanine Mason, Matt Ward, Chloe Coleman, and Hiro Kanagawa. We return with episode 416 of the Geektown Radio podcast, and Dave is joined by Darryl from Hollywood North News, as they chat TV and film news and reviews!Darryl always brings with him some interesting and eclectic choices when it comes to TV and film reviews and this week's options are beautifully odd. He begins with the genius that is the film 'Robocroc' which you can find on Prime Video in the UK. He also reviews various Netflix films including vampire movie 'V For Vengeance', Millie Bobby Brown film 'Damsel', and 'Code 8 Part II' starring Steven and Robbie Amell. If that wasn't enough, they also discuss Disney+ series 'Death and Other Details'. Meanwhile, Dave has been working through various previews of shows, including Anthony Mackie's series 'Twisted Metal', which lands this week on Paramount+, 'The Cleaning Lady', which started last week on Sky Witness, and the long and torturous wait for the return of 'Invincible' being over on Prime Video.Moving into the news updates, we've got all the latest recent renewals, cancellations, and pickups, including an air date for the return of 'Doctor Who', losing one part of the 'Power' franchise, but gaining another, and a premiere for ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte‘! We also run through the ridiculous cast of Harlan Coben's ‘Missing You' on Netflix, and see David Tennant turn his hand to game show hosting! This business is evolving so fast it's actually hard to keep up...On this special episode we dive into a brand new movie on Netflix that takes us back into a dystopian sci-fi world that was born from some Canadian talent. It's time for 'Code 8, Pt II'.In this sequel to Code 8, Connor (Robbie Amell) is out of prison and working as a janitor at a community center, having cut ties with his former criminal associate Garrett (Stephen Amell). It's our last installment of Free To Be You & Me and we're ending the month with a bang! We are covering The DUFF, starring Mae Whitman as Bianca, a high school girl who proudly walks to the beat of her own drum, until her neighbor Wesley, played by Robbie Amell informs her that she is the DUFF (Designated, Ugly, Fat, Friend) to her two hot besties and mayhem ensues. In this episode we agree to go on an anger apology tour to make amends for our misguided high school fury, argue the merits of giving your crush an edible arrangement and contemplate what anger flavored tastes like. We are channeling our inner Bianca's for this episode but our DUFF stands for delightful, unique fun friends because it's our show and we can do whatever we want.
