Sisterhood in Action The Sistas recorded this episode with the amazing Linda Park right after the 2024 U.S. elections. It's a continuation of a deeper, more emotional sister talk we had before the show. We dive into our love for Hoshi Sato, what it was like growing up as an immigrant, and our unforgettable experiences on the Star Trek Cruise. Huge thanks to Linda for sharing her heart with us. Cal & Liam take a brief detour with this bonus episode while continuing the Justice League Unlimited reviews for the month of January, wrapping up with a review of issue 38 of the tie-in comic which serves as a bit of a follow-up to last week's review. The hosts discuss a comedic love-triangle between Giganta, Flash and Linda Park written by Matt Wayne who also wrote "Flash and Substance." The hosts talk some of the homages to Archie and Betty & Veronica as well as whether or not the episode could have worked as an animated episode. Additionally, the hosts talk about the interior art, the cover and take our first supporter question on the pod. All of this and more plus a preview of next week's exciting Meta-Brawl matchup all await on this week's bonus episode of the DCAU Review! When Hoshi and Trip take their very first transporter ride, Commander Tucker goes first and Hoshi feels shaken up when she rematerializes on the ship. But when no one is listening and she starts to actually disappear, her extremely anxious dream logic reveals what she thinks about her colleagues. What special skill does Linda Park have on the back of her headshot? How much hot water is available on the NX-01? Which is the most dangerous prop ever seen on Star Trek? It's the episode that makes residue info a very sad word.Support the production of The Greatest GenerationGet a thing at podshop.biz!Sign up for our mailing list!Follow The Game of Buttholes: The Will of the Riker - Quantum LeapThe Greatest Generation is produced by Wynde PriddySocial media is managed by Rob Adler and Bill TilleyMusic by Adam Ragusea & Dark MateriaFriends of DeSoto for: Labor | Democracy | JusticeDiscuss the show using the hashtag #GreatestGen and find us on social media:YouTube | Facebook | X | Instagram | TikTok | Mastodon | Bluesky | ThreadsAnd check out these online communities run by FODs: Reddit | USS Hood Discord | Facebook group | Wikia | FriendsOfDeSoto.social
Conspicuous by their absence throughout most of this run, the villains of the Rogues Gallery return to menace the Flash. But Mark Waid (and newly credited co-writer Brian Augustyn) put the main focus back on the dynamic between Wally West and Linda Park, as they argue about how much information to reveal to the public about an impending global disaster, negotiate the Flash's exile from Keystone City to his new home turf of Santa Marta, California, and find their commitment to each other put to the ultimate test when the devil Neron comes looking to make a deal. We'll also examine some side projects looking at Wally's relationship with some of his superhero peers: Dick (Nightwing) Grayson and Kyle (Green Lantern) Rayner.TRIGGER WARNING: Discussion of fictional presidential election. Discussed in this episode: The Flash #119-129, plus Flash/Green Lantern: Faster Friends #1-2, Flash Plus Nightwing (1997), and other stories.Support us on Patreon at patreon.com/ironageofcomics
In this episode, we get two epic storylines back to back. First, in “Dead Heat,” the Lightning Brigade faces the evil Savitar, who treats superspeed like a religion and has an army of ninjas to back him up. Next, “Race Against Time” finds Wally West lost in the future while a new Flash protects Keystone City (and makes time with Linda Park). But we're less enthused about these stories than earlier highlights like “The Return of Barry Allen” and “Terminal Velocity.” Was writer Mark Waid starting to be stretched a little too thin as he ascended to the ranks of industry superstar, or are your humble hosts just running out of gas? Or maybe there's just something funny about this Savitar guy… There's a Fifth Week Bonus episode coming in October! Sign up now at patreon.com/ironageofcomics so you won't miss it!
It's another big everything-changes-forever epic as Mark Waid hits “Terminal Velocity.” The discovery of the Speed Force as the source of superspeed in the DC Universe is transforming Wally West emotionally and physically, and his future with Linda Park is at stake. True love conquers all (sorry for the spoiler), but they won't necessarily live happily ever as they have to pick up the pieces after the fairytale ending. We'll discuss Wally's often-frustrating tendency to keep his loved ones in the dark and debate whether it matters that the villain of the piece is a bit generic. Because comic fans need to rank things, we'll also weigh in on whether “Terminal Velocity” or “The Return of Barry Allen” is the highlight of the run. All this plus Mirror Master and some kind of Lovecraftian monster, too! Discussed in this episode: Flash #0 and 95-105, plus Flash Annual #8 (1996). Professor Zoom has been defeated, Wally West has regained his top speed and put aside his insecurities about living up to Barry Allen's legacy, and Mark Waid's Flash is now a comic book to watch as 1993 turns into 1994. As rookie penciler Mike Wieringo comes aboard as new regular artist, Waid teams Wally up with Nightwing and Starfire (and his ex-girlfriend), puts the Flash on trial, and hints at the secret source of superspeed. We also meet breakout character Bart Allen, soon to be known as Impulse! We'll guide you through a chunk of issues that may not contain any six-issue epics, but it puts Wally on the path to maturity and makes his relationship with Linda Park into the focus of the series. Discussed in this episode: Flash #80-94 You can support this podcast at patreon.com/ironageofcomics
Aren't you glad we didn't make you wait all summer for this cliffhanger? Seems there's no universe in which Anthony Montgomery gets actual lines to do. At least Linda Park gets to do something. I guess? She does quite a lot of... something. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intro and outro music by Iván D. We arrive at what are likely the most famous and best regarded Enterprise episodes as we at last review "In A Mirror, Darkly"! We have our good pal Ian bust out a whole know theme song for the occasion as we hit all the highlights. For no particular reason we get the awesome nasty versions of our heroes, Jolene's abs getting their moment in the sun, bad haircuts all around, Mayweather as Simon Phoenix, Linda Park spending most of the episode without clothes on, and the deepest Trek continuity cuts you can imagine. This rules, so get in here!
In 1977, Linda Park's son and Dana - Sue Crews' younger brother Luke was diagnosed with Histiocytosis X when he was 18 months old, was told that he would not survive, and that the end would be quick and tragic. On today's podcast Linda and Dana-Sue will talk about Luke and how he recovered from his blood cancer diagnosis which is now known as Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis and is thriving at the age of 47. They will also talk about the book that Linda wrote called BRAVE COURAGEOUS BOLD , LUKE AND HIS BIG BATTLE and the work that Dana- Sue has done for the cause of Pediatric Cancer which was inspired by Luke's fight, including starting the Bell Asteri Publishing company which publishes books concerning individual Pediatric Cancer stories.
Denise and JD welcome actor, writer, producer Scott Lowell (Queer As Folk, Bones, CSI, Castle) to discuss his YouTube series "Adoptable" starring himself, Linda Park, Noah Wylie, Sharon Gless, Julie Duffy and Gale Harold. Scott explains how it was loosely based on his own experience looking for his birth parents. Later, Denise arranges for Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey, Queer As Folk, Nip/Tuck, Burn Notice) to the show to surprise Scott and talk about doing her part in Adoptable, her book, her Audible "Audie" nomination for Best narration of a memoir and working with Peter Paige in the season opener of "Station 19". Have you ever felt true freedom on stage? Or, even felt like a completely different person in the Hollywood spotlight? If so, you'll want to hear from California-based actress Linda Park. Linda Park recently joined us at the Imagine Talks annual symposium where she spoke about the value of our stories. Linda Park was born in Seoul, South Korea. Immediately after graduating Boston University's BFA Acting program, she booked her first movie role in Jurassic Park III alongside Laura Dern and then landed her first series regular role on Star Trek Enterprise shortly after. She continued on to series regular roles on Raines, Women's Murder Club and Starz' Crash. She is currently recurring on Amazon's Bosch and Apple TV's For All Mankind.

In this episode, John Billingsley roams about the Enterprise checking on her systems and tending to her crew, but for this Denobulan, solitude might be the worst thing he could have ever asked. Join in on the fun as we review Star Trek: Enterprise 'Doctor's Orders', kicking off our "Best of the Doctors" series!

The daughter of legendary martial artist Dan Inosanto and the goddaughter of Bruce Lee, she has dozens of credits as a stunt performer, fight coordinator and choreographer. She talks about kicking Vulcan ass, embracing martial arts as her heritage, and learning "Uncle Bruce" was famous.

Ugyanezen a napon ünnepli születésnapját Linda Park, aki a Föderáció előtti Enterprise kommunikációs beosztottját, Hoshi Sato-t alakította. A diplomáciáról, a facepalmről és a megfelelő ütemben kiadott "Indulás!" parancsról ismerhető Picard kapitány megformálója, Patrick Stewart pedig július 13-án lett egy évvel idősebb. Hosszú és eredményes életet nekik! - A Star Trek: Discovery két kategóriában is harcba száll az Emmy-ért. Az egyik esetben a "kiemelkedő maszkok" (Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup) díjáért fog megküzdeni a többi sorozattal, másik esetben pedig a ’kiemelkedő hangkeverés komédiában vagy drámasorozatban’ című kategóriában kell helyt állnia. - A San Diego Comic Con közeledtével fellendül a Star Trekhez kapcsolódó merchandising-lavina, ennek megfelelően napi szinten találkozunk valamilyen exkluzív relikviával az interneten. Nem tartozik szorosan ide, de William Shatner country albumát is megemlítjük. - Majdnem készen van Deep Space Nine-ról szóló dokumentumfilm, a What We Left Behind, Ira Steven Behr szerint idén már meg is jelenhet. A bejelentés kapcsán menthetetlenül a DS9 és Voyager HD remastereken kezdünk gondolkodni. A kibeszélő tartalmából: - Habár a talosiak a Star Trek pilotját vetítik a tárgyaláson, Pike első küldetését még senki sem látta a hatvanas években, ezért az akkori nézőknek a beágyazott történet is újdonság volt. Ennek megfelelően a készítők egyetlen epizód leforgatásával kettőt nyertek. - Spock precízen és kíméletlenül hajtja végre a titkos tervét, motivációi ennek ellenére mélyen emberiek, hiszen mindent egykori kapitánya jólétéért tesz kockára.

As the team works to find a way to stop Zoom, Doctor Light escapes from her containment cell after Barry was hoping that she would help them stop Zoom. Instead, her Earth-1 counterpart, Linda Park, agrees to help the team by impersonating Doctor Light. Dr. Wells creates a speed dampening serum and the team stages a fight at one of the breaches in order to trick Zoom through. The attempt fails as Zoom knew what they were attempting. Instead, he goes after Linda before fighting Barry. Zoom is much faster and easily bests Barry, showing his defeated, unconscious body to the local news and the police station, before ultimately returning to S.T.A.R. Labs. Zoom stabs Barry with his hand, but Cisco shoots him with the serum, which hurts Zoom but still leaves him with enough speed to escape. Later, Wells reveals that Zoom has his daughter Jesse and he came to Earth-1 to stop Zoom. Barry wakes from his injuries and discovers that he can no longer feel his legs.
Exit all sense of safety, and "Enter Zoom"! Barry believes he can lure Zoom onto his Earth by using Linda Park, dressed as Dr. Light (even if she is really horrible at shooting cardboard cutouts.) Nothing's ever easy, so of course, they fail. Cisco is trying his best to "vibe" Dr. Wells in an effort to find out what's really going on, and discovers that Harry has a daughter, and she's being held by Zoom. But just when their guard has been let down, Zoom arrives and easily wreaks havoc on any hope they may have had. Barry is down for the count and our jaws are on the floor. Jay and Josh look vigilantly for the escaped Dr. Light on this week's Scarlet Velocity: A Flash Podcast!

The team meets the Earth-2 Harrison Wells, who is responsible for the creation of the metahumans and Zoom of his Earth. Despite his attitude, Wells plans to help Barry's team stop Zoom and his metahumans. At the same time, a thief from Earth-2 named Doctor Light arrives and starts robbing banks. Jay tells Barry that she can be reasoned with, and it works until Barry recognizes her as the Earth-2 version of Linda Park. Later, Light attempts to kill Linda and take over her life, but accidentally kills Linda's boss and is foiled by Barry's team in the process. After locking Light up, they plan to use her to lure Zoom and defeat him for good. Jay, who does not trust Wells, thinks it is too dangerous and leaves the team. Back on Earth-2, it is revealed that Zoom has Wells' daughter captive.
