"Entrepreneurship is the craziest, scariest roller coaster ever." What happens when selling RVs leads to buying dental scrap, melting it down for precious metals, and then launching a startup with a mission to bless lives? In this episode, I talk with Brandon Sherwood about entrepreneurship, family, and why it's just not that serious. This episode is sponsored by my new book BRANDJITSU, helping you find, shape, and share your story with the world. In This Episode In this episode, Michael Dargie chats with Brandon Sherwood, an entrepreneur from Heber City, Utah, whose path has been anything but ordinary. Brandon runs a business that buys dental scrap—old crowns and bridges—and refines them into precious metals like gold and palladium. It's a niche market with a 10-to-15 year runway, but for Brandon, the real story is how it led him to launch Gladly Network, a startup built on a mission statement as simple as it is powerful: bless lives . Gladly is designed to connect small, impact-driven businesses with people in meaningful ways, starting with dental offices as a kind of employee perk system. For Brandon, it's about more than business—it's about making sure his company continues to add value long after the dental scrap dries up. He explains the challenges and joys of building something new, calling entrepreneurship "the craziest, scariest roller coaster ever" . The conversation stretches back to Brandon's roots: growing up in Arkansas, working in his dad's RV dealership, and discovering that while cubicle life wasn't for him, sales and relationships were. He tells the story of how a cousin pulled him into the strange world of dental scrap on his day off from selling RVs—and how eight months later, he made the leap into a whole new career . Beyond work, Brandon opens up about raising four teenage boys, how experiences like concerts, sports, and camping trips matter more than things, and why his favourite recharge involves disappearing into the Utah mountains to sit under an aspen tree and remember that life's problems aren't that serious . From street tacos in Cozumel to family Halloween costumes, Brandon's story is one of humour, humility, and hope. His advice to rebels in waiting: you've got to love it, believe in it, and remember that failure is just part of the process—so keep throwing the ball in the right direction. Quoteable Quotes "It's just not that serious. Take a breath. Everything's going to be okay." — Brandon Sherwood "Entrepreneurship is the craziest, scariest roller coaster ever." — Brandon Sherwood "You've got to love it and believe in it—otherwise it's not worth doing." — Brandon Sherwood "Mistakes are only mistakes if you don't learn from them." — Brandon Sherwood "Experiences are the most important part of this whole thing." — Michael Dargie Episode Highlights The Dental Scrap Business | Turning crowns and bridges into precious metals. We start by examining Celebrity Cruises' decision to cancel all stops at Labadee, Haiti, across 2025 and 2026 itineraries. We explore how the Level Four travel advisory issued by the U.S. Department of State—citing security concerns like violent crime and kidnappings—prompted this widespread industry shift. Learn about the popular replacement destinations taking Labadee's spot, including Turks and Caicos, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, Mexico.Next, we look at the rising tensions between cruise lines and their loyal patrons. We detail the policy revisions by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) that are drawing passenger backlash. Understand the new operational changes, such as the $5 fee for ordering more than one entrée in the Main Dining Room and the newly introduced item limits on room service deliveries. We also discuss how NCL's beverage packages will no longer be honored at its private island, Great Stirrup Cay, starting in 2026.Finally, we highlight luxury growth and demand with MSC Cruises' expansion in the robust Alaska market. The MSC Poesia is set to return to Seattle for its second consecutive summer season in 2027, following an extensive refurbishment. Discover the details of the ship's upgrade, including the highly anticipated debut of the exclusive MSC Yacht Club.

Send us a textThe gangway drops, the music hits, and we kick off a cruise-driven, faith-forward journey from Port Canaveral with one goal: make your time at sea effortless, joyful, and unforgettable. We introduce our duo—Captain Jesse and the Cruise Coach—and dive right into how to choose the best Florida homeport, from Miami's buzz to Tampa Bay's Skyway views, and why that first decision shapes your itinerary, budget, and onboard rhythm. We unpack the big Caribbean question—East, West, or South—and explain what each route delivers, from Cozumel tacos and Cayman reefs to longer Southern escapes like Aruba. Then we zoom in on the ships themselves: Utopia, Icon, and Star of the Seas redefine “floating city” with aqua theaters, two-tier promenades, solariums, and spa sanctuaries that rival land resorts. You'll hear smart, actionable tips: Boardwalk and Central Park balcony hacks on Oasis-class ships, the best ways to catch the AquaTheater (including from your own balcony), and complimentary breakfast windows that most guests miss.Competition is reshaping the industry for the better. We talk MSC's rise, why dry docks matter, and how more than fifty new ships on order will push design, dining, and entertainment forward. Private islands are leveling up too—think Perfect Day at CocoCay and Carnival's Celebration Key—making short sailings feel like full-on resort getaways. If you're a first-timer, we demystify gratuities, inclusions, and what “turn off your brain” truly means once you step aboard. Most of all, we're building community. Join our hosted group cruises to get concierge-style planning: curated excursions, dining guidance, show reservations, and flexible tracks for families, foodies, and adventurers. Link two ports in one vacation with Brightline rail, or bookend your sailing with Cocoa Beach sunsets and Orlando theme parks. We keep it service-first and faith-centered, closing with a prayer for safe voyages and lighter hearts.Subscribe, share with your cruise-curious friends, and tell us where you want to sail next.
The Need-to-Know Morning Show on Monday covers a range of intense topics, starting with the immediate effects of the ongoing government shutdown, which is now the second longest in U.S. history. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy details the stress on air traffic controllers and warns of increasing flight delays and cancellations as a direct result of the standoff. The core issue, Duffy states, is the Democrats' alleged push for $1.5 trillion for healthcare for illegal aliens. The show turns to devastating weather news as Hurricane Melissa, now a Category 5, tracks for a catastrophic, slow-moving hit on Jamaica. The island is expected to see up to 40 inches of rain and a 9 to 13-foot storm surge. Politics, Crime, and Survival In a deep dive into politics and crime, the show features a segment with investigative journalist Miranda Devine on the "Cocaine at 1600" Fox Nation special. Devine discusses the suspicious destruction of evidence within 11 days related to the bag of cocaine found in the White House. She reports that Secret Service sources indicate a partial match to someone in the White House was found through DNA analysis. This has led to the FBI and Kash Patel reopening the case. Transportation Secretary Duffy also weighs in on a key legal battle, threatening to strip California of its ability to issue commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) because the state unlawfully issued over 60,000 licenses to foreigners. The host and his co-hosts also have a segment on the general state of the Democratic Party, asking, "What are they for?" and pointing out that their efforts, such as the fight for illegal immigrants to have Obamacare subsidies, are "loser leverage". Personal Preparedness Health and wellness expert Mariah Prussia stops in to discuss her recent intense "mountain readiness" survival training in North Carolina. She recounts learning tactical preparedness, including how to pick handcuffs, night vision driving, and recognizing that preparedness is essential because it's not a question of "if" but "when" a serious situation will arise. Travel agent Cindy also checks in, giving an update on the travel chaos due to the shutdown and offering a great all-inclusive deal to Cozumel. Timestamps for Standout Moments 0:08:44 - Dean Wysocki details the catastrophic forecast for Hurricane Melissa hitting Jamaica. 0:17:15 - Sean Duffy, Transportation Secretary, warns of severe air travel disruptions due to the government shutdown. 0:22:56 - Duffy…

"The wind changed direction, and I was caught in this massive fire. I screamed out to God to save me. My face was on fire, and somehow I was suddenly lifted, and floating." ---------- Jamie's life has been miraculously spared more than once. At just fifteen he was caught in a raging fire — but instead of dying, he was mysteriously floated to safety, though badly burned. Years later, in a violent South American prison, a man stood before Jamie ready to kill him. Once again, God intervened. And during what became Hurricane Earl, off the coast of Cozumel, Jamie and six others found themselves scattered in the sea with no way out. Yet all survived. As Psalm 31:15 declares, “My times are in Your hands.” Jamie's story is a gripping reminder that until God's purpose for us is complete, nothing can cut our lives short. Episode 508: 9 Coach-Approved Strategies to Finish Your Season StrongIt's the last weekend of September, and while the calendar says fall, the racing season is still going strong! Whether you're heading to Kona, IRONMAN California, 70.3 Worlds, Cozumel, Florida, or another big race, this is your moment to lean into the grit and finish the season with purpose. In this episode, Rich shares 9 coach-approved strategies to help you stay mentally and physically sharp for your late-season push. From mindset shifts to training tweaks, these tips are designed to help you show up strong and finish proud. What's inside this week:
This week's episode covers everything from Metallica rumors to vehicular combat nostalgia, with some Star Trek overload and a short story about ants the size of Buicks. Real Life First off: is Metallica doing a farewell tour? Nope. Despite the headlines , it's not the end. Devon's floating the idea of a Metallica Vegas residency though—because nothing says “hard rock” like the Strip buffet scene. Speaking of trips, Devon cruised back to Cozumel and reported in with the most lukewarm Superman review ever: “It was okay.” Much more enthusiasm went to Twisted Metal, which Devon swears is actually good TV. Ben's week was a mash-up of retro and weird: revisiting the vehicular combat classic Vigilante 8 (alternate 1975, naturally) and driving headlong into Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom—a game best described as Super Mario 64 colliding with Crazy Taxi in an alleyway. Steven had a great run in Shatterpoint, squaring off against Greg. Steven fielded Lord Maul and Count Dooku, Greg ran the entire Rogue One crew, and fun was had by all. Also, Ben dog-sat and chicken-sat for Steven. His payment? Eggs. A true barter economy. Future or Now Ben wasn't going to let us off the hook without some Star Trek chatter. Two new official Trek series just dropped—including Star Trek: Scouts, a preschooler show that Ben insists counts. He's also tossing out theories about Jack Ransom connections and reminding us that Khan is on the way too. That's… a lot of Trek. Maybe too much Trek. Steven meanwhile is hyped because Star Trek LEGO, is now officially a thing. The USS Enterprise and a Type-15 Shuttlepod in brick form? Yes, please. Devon had nothing this week. (Hey, he's allowed a bye week.) Book Club This week we dug into Edward Bryant's 1979 short story giANTS, which dives into what happens when you ignore the square-cube law. Quick refresher: double the size of an insect, and its mass increases faster than its strength or breathing ability. Meaning giant ants would basically suffocate under their own bulk. Science ruins everything, but at least it makes for great fiction. Next week we're jumping back to 1971 with Robert Silverberg's Good News from the Vatican (found in Universe 1). Grab it here, if you want to read along.
#AlohaKalle #Triathlon #Ironman #IronmanWM #Nizza #Cozumel #Regeneration #Erholung #TriathlonTraining #Langdistanz #Triathlet #TriathlonPodcast #TriathlonLiebe #Swimbikerun #EnduranceSports #TriLife #TriathlonCommunity #TriathlonDeutschland **ALOHA KALLE Website Coaching** https://aloha-kalle.de **Steady:** http://steadyhq.com/aloha-kalle **ALOHA KALLE Strava-Club:** https://www.strava.com/clubs/aloha-kalle **ALOHA KALLE Instagram:** https://www.instagram.com/aloha_kalle/ **Marcus Herbst Instagram** https://www.instagram.com/marcus.herbst/

My new Youtube channel: Spanish with Dennishttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQVuRUMQGwtzBIp1YAImQFQMy new Discord server and chat and you can already join and write to me there:https://discord.gg/HWGrnmTmyCMy new Telegram channel and you can already join and write to me or comment there:https://t.me/SpanishwithDennisJoin my Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/spanishwithdennisSupport me by joining my podcasts supporter club on Spreaker:https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/slow-spanish-language--5613080/supportDonate with Boosty:https://boosty.to/spanishwithdennis/donateDonate with Donation Alerts:https://www.donationalerts.com/r/dennisespinosaDonate with Crypto currency:Bitcoin (BTC)1DioiGPAQ6yYbEgcxEFRxWm5hZJcfLG9V6USDT (ERC20)0xeb8f678c0b8d37b639579662bf653be762e60855USDT (TRC20)TXoQwsaiTGBpWVkyeigApLT8xC82rQwRCNEthereum (ETH)0xeb8f678c0b8d37b639579662bf653be762e60855If you have any other suggestions or recommendations on what other platform you can support me and my podcasts, please let me know. From structured heat training protocols to the role of sweat rate and core temperature, this episode is filled with golden nuggets that could make or break your race day. If you've ever wondered how to train smart for sweltering conditions or how to adapt your approach when the mercury rises, this is one episode you won't want to miss. Also in this episode. Mark Livesey tackles a tough but timely question: How do young professional triathletes make a living in today's sport? With insights from former pro triathlete Caroline Livesey, the discussion gets straight to the point, breaking down the real economics behind going pro. Mark and Caroline explore the key income streams available to up-and-coming triathletes, including sponsorships, race winnings, appearance fees, coaching, content creation, and more. They don't shy away from the realities—it's a hustle, and financial success often depends on more than just performance. From navigating sponsorship deals to building a personal brand and balancing side gigs, this is an eye-opening look into the business side of professional triathlon.Enjoy!
