On this episode we sit down with a well respected and reputable Los Angeles native by the name of Channon Anderson. Channon is a longtime friend of our Co-Host T. Reg, and a entrepreneur, father and business owner here in Los Angeles. Channon owns his own Clothing brand called "FULLY LOADED CLOTHING", as well as a storefront in the heart of the Crenshaw District where he sells his merchandise as well as throws events for people in his community. We start out our conversation with Channon talking about his upbringing and family influenced here in LA. We discuss how he grew up on the infamous 55th street, which is known to be Crip gang territory and recently been glorified by people across the world due to the uprise and fame of the internet sensation, "CRIP MACC'. Channon talks about how growing up on 55th street was a wild experience for him as a child, with having parents who we're heavy drug dealers in the 80s and 90s and siblings and family members who were heavily involved in gang life. Although Channon grew up in a hostile environment, he was a born hustler, as well as an athlete which kept him focused, busy and out of the street life. We later discuss how growing up the way he did gave him the biggest motivation on how he DID NOT want to live his life, as well as how much better of a father he wanted to be to his two young sons. We continue our discussion, by diving into the concept of fatherhood and entrepreneurship as well as some wild stories and circumstances that he faced while growing in South Central Los Angeles on 55th street. They start off the conversation talking about her upbringing and how she grew up in Modesto, California with her mother, step father and five step siblings. Natalia goes on to explain how she practically grew up on a farm and also ended up being a huge fan of country music due to her upbringing. Our Co-host T.Reg then goes to ask her about her ethnic background which she then informs us that she is a Assyrian-Iraqi American. Natalia goes into detail about Assyria, its history and how it is today, the country of Iraq. We then discuss about the family dynamic of being Assyrian and how they are extremely close and caring of each other, even though they tend to have family feuds and fight, but they always love each other. We then transition to how she got involved with going to culinary school and her love for cooking for her friends. She stated that she didn't even know that she was a good cook until she would be having gatherings at her apartment when she moved to LA, and all her friends would love and crave her cooking. She realized that cooking was not only something she was good at, but something that she had a true passion for. We talked about how she took a leap of faith at a wedding and asked the Chef that was catering a celebrity wedding she was at, if she could be his intern. That leap of faith ended up getting her the opportunity to cook for the Detroit Rapper Tee Grizzley, and eventually cooking for Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis. Ebonique is a Singer, Song-Writer, Actress, and Model whose been friends with Tunde for almost 10 years and they both moved out to Los Angeles from the Chicago land area about the same time back in 2013. Unlike most of the guest that's been on the show this season, Ebonique has been one of the first guest that Tun has had on the show more than once, as this is her second interview on DAB. But this time we get a bit more insight about her background, her journey and her experiences while pursuing her career out here in LA. We first start off our conversation with Ebonique discussing how she grew up on the Northside of Chicago in a Northern Suburb called "Evanston". She goes on to talk about how she went to College at University of Illinois, and she originally studied Broadcasting, because she wanted to be a News Anchor, but later when she actually got into the field once she graduated, she realized that wasn't the career path she wanted. She then goes on to tell us how she saved about $10,000 due to being able to stay at her family members house because she had been in communication with her best friend who lived in LA at the time who was avidly telling her that she needed to move to California. Once she made the move she realized how difficult and challenging LA was, but she was determined to succeed. Also she had caught some momentum coming to LA because she ended up being signed by one of the biggest Commercial Agencies in LA named "Daniel Hoff Agency," whom she is still signed with til this day. We continue our conversation talking about the LA lifestyle and how this city has changed drastically over the years, but in the midst of our conversation, Ebonique drops a Exclusive fact about herself which catches Tun and T. Reg by complete surprise. Ebonique out of nowhere reveals that her middle name is "Lebron", hence why the episode is called "The Real Lebron". The conversation first starts off by Tun introducing NABA, but then instantly being inquisitive about the Mongolian culture which NABA was more than happy to give insight and extensive detail about. NABA first explains where geographically the country of Mongolia is located, which is in East Asia. He then goes on to talk about how he as a Mongolian man has to constantly correct people when they think that he is "Chinese", just because people always assuming he is because of how he looks. Later on, one thing that Tun brought up was the fact that in Mongolian culture, respect and honor is a HUGE thing amongst the Mongolian people. NABA then goes on to explain about how things specifically like your "Hat" or "Belt", has to be treated a certain way when presenting it or putting it away, because as Mongolian people they believe those two things have certain level of honor to them. The discussion continues to get more and more interesting as we drive deeper into NABA's upbringing and his experience in Mongolia. To the point were we then discuss his love for basketball, and his infatuation with Hip Hop music and westernize Hip Hop Culture. We first start off by him giving us a little background information on how he grew up as the youngest of 6 children coming up in Los Angeles. Shiesty talks about how he grew up with having his father very active in his life, and how from the beginning his father had a major influence on his life. He goes on to explain how when he was younger he was involved in football heavily and his mother got him into doing small roles in commercials due to his look as a child, and his mother having connections in the Entertainment industry. We later transition to talking about how it was his father who got him into music due to his father being heavily involved in music. Shiesty let us know that because of his Dad he was around Rap legends like Bone- Thugs and Harmony and Wu-Tang's Ol Dirty Bastard. We later discuss how things happen in his life that cause him to be involved in the street life, which he says it became difficult at times to focus on the rapping because so much was going on in his life and in the streets to the point where he ended up going to jail. But we then focus on how he has become a father and how his son changed his life, and gives him the motivation to grind and pursue what it is that he's passionate about, which is the music. On this episode of DAB, Tun sits down with Los Angeles native, who's a Hip Hop Musician, Song Writer, and Entrepreneur who goes by the name "Niko G4". We start our conversation with Niko talking about his upbringing, and how it was growing up in the inner city of LA. We discuss his journey of finding his own style and way to fit into society without conforming to the pressures that come from the influences in his environment. Niko tells us how having a positive role model like his older brother, kept him on a straighten path towards success and figuring out what he wanted to do in life. With Niko attending Fairfax High School, and having a unique set of friends and a reputation in the city for being one of the "Cool Guys", it gave him the momentum he needed to now pursue rapping and making music full time. After Niko graduated from High School, he was blessed with a major opportunity to do his first ever feature on a song with a legendary Los Angeles Hip Hop Artist by the name of Dom Kennedy. That song that he did with Dom Kennedy would later be featured on a classic hip hop album called "The Yellow Album". We first start off our conversation talking about how his musically journey began, and he let us know that he's literally been playing with instruments since he was 2 years old. His first instrument that he ever played was the drums, but later transitioned into playing several other instruments like guitar, Bass, the piano, French horn and more. We talk about how his raw talent got recognized early by his music instructors, and eventually found himself taking instruments more serious because he started doing small paid gigs while he was still in high school. Rob later reveals he was supposed to go to Berkley in California for school, but ended up capitalizing on a opportunity which allowed him to move to LA. Once in LA, he enrolled in a performing arts school, were ironically Quincy Jones just signed an artist and they were looking for someone to play guitar, and when he got the opportunity to perform for Quincy's people, they were blown away! We go on to discuss how he had the once in a lifetime opportunity to audition for Kendrick Lamar the for role of his lead Guitarist, and how is preparation and being ready for the opportunity when it called changed his live forever. So he then asks a more direct question to both men when he asks, "How did Nipsey have a impact on you life?' Things started to get real deep and emotional when they started to reveal the connection and personal inspiration that Nipsey had on their lives. Not only that, but Tun then brings up the question, "How have you grown as a man in the last year?" and things get kind of serious. On this episode Tun sits down with some friends and high school mates from Chicago, who have transitioned into being Self-made Entrepreneurs and Businessmen. Dom Walker and his older brother Jamal Walker sit and discuss how they were able to develop the titles that they have for themselves with include but aren't limited to being a; Entrepreneur, Real Estate Investor, Husband, Father and now Author. In the first half of the show both Dom and Jamal go into detail about how they came into being Self-Made Entrepreneurs. They give insight on the different choices and career paths that they took in earlier stages of their lives which gave them the tools and experience to step out of their own and start their own respective businesses. Jamal goes into detail how his career started in music management for local Chicago Artists and then business consulting and party promoting which later turned into him starting his own company called "Millennium Age". The Company he started went from business consulting, to now cultivating and developing their own events and parties which he decided to bring his brother Dom into the mixed and they eventually moved to LA in 2015 and everything then took off from there. Once they moved out to LA they saw the success they were able to make in the business of throwing their own parties and events, so decided to branch out to other states and expand their audition, to the point they have been able to throw very successful parties and events in almost 40 other cities. After the "Smoke Break" Tun brings up the topic of Real Estate, seeing as Dom wrote a book entitled "Don't Wait, Buy Real Estate". Tun wanted to be able to pick his brain about the ins and outs of Real Estate and why he wrote the book. Dom drops some serious numbers along with his experience and his advice about getting into Real Estate and what inspired him to get into Real Estate in the first place. Along with Dom and Jamal dropping some very insightful information, Tun switches gears a bit and gets more personal with the two brothers, when he asks each of them to tell an embarrassing story about one another, which was quit interesting seeing as neither of the two wanted to embarrass the other. The conversation starts by Tun bringing up how Parris is from Waldrof, Maryland and Chill is from Pittsburg, California, which are two places most people haven't heard of. Both Parris and Chill go on to give details about their environment and what growing up in those environments were like and what motivated them to move to LA. Parris reveals that he lived in New York for 6 years before moving to LA and that kind of gave him a bit more preparation to actually making the transition to LA. After the "Smoke Break" Tun brings up the intriguing topic of "Dating in LA', were he then gets Chill's perspective on the difference between women from "The Bay" and women from "LA". The job was a means to an end for Tun & DP but Jason revealed that he stayed the course working at that dead end job so he could fund and support his true passion which is Acting. Ironically for Jason, his big break that eventually got him out of working that job didn't come from what he came here to do, but from what he naturally loved to do from just his Jamaican roots, which is dancing. He goes into detail how he got signed by one of the biggest agencies for dancers just by consistently going to the clubs and dancing and having fun. Which eventually got him noticed and recommend to be in a music video and the rest was history from there.
