Rhaja Rose grew up in Arizona — raised by his mom and stepfather without his father in the picture. Despite a passion for football that could have taken him somewhere, he dropped out of high school and joined the Crips. A home invasion led to a murder charge that sent him to Arizona's prison system for 12 years. In this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick, Rhaja opens up about surviving some of Arizona's most violent prisons — the gangs the politics and the daily violence that defines life behind bars. But halfway through his sentence something shifted. He dialed in, earned a college degree from inside his cell, turned his life completely around and came home with a new purpose — becoming a tattoo artist and building a life nobody saw coming. _____________________________________________ #gang #TrueCrime #prison _____________________________________________ Thank You To CASH APP For Sponsoring This Episode: Download Cash App Today: https://click.cash.app/ui6m/6pao71et #CashAppPod Cash App is a financial services platform, not a bank. It's a cop corruption thriller that's also a vampire movie focusing on four characters. Colors came out in 1988 and was the first film to put the Bloods and Crips on screen by name. It feels cheesy now. It would have felt raw as hell then. Richard Lewis, MonteCristo, and Thorin open the Robert Duvall arc with the movie that crawled so Training Day, The Wire, and End of Watch could run. Sara Wylie got her filmmaking start in her late twenties, dipping her toe into documentary through her work as a political organizer after making anti-Stephen Harper comedy videos. Soon, her passion for storytelling developed into a heightened curiosity about how she processes her own life and experiences as someone experiencing complex chronic illness. In this personal inquisition, Wylie fell upon the concept of Crip Time, contemplating how able-bodied versus disabled bodies relate to time. In a capitalist society, we are forced to bend to our clocks to keep up with the rapid pace of life. Crip time offers a new, radical approach worth considering: time should bend to disabled bodies and minds instead.Shot on Super 8 and primarily eco-processed with plant materials by hand, in this episode of the VIFF Podcast, we talk with Wylie about her journey creating her short, Resistance Meditation. She describes it as "a weird little movie" — but Resistance Meditation is a lot more than that. It emphasizes the urgent need to resist capitalism, the demands on our precious time, and how folks with disabled bodies hold the keys to what a meaningful alternative could look like. This podcast is brought to you by the Vancouver International Film Festival.Presented on the traditional and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.

In this episode of Roompact's ResEdChat, join our host Noah Montague and guest, Emily Abrams, Assistant Director of Dow STEM Scholars at Michigan State University, as they talk about crip theory and its implications for Residence Life Staff and for the halls themselves. Student Development Theories give us language through which to understand and implement our work and crip theory is no different, especially for Residence Life Staff. What does it mean for students and staff to be working in inaccessible residence halls? What does it look like for staff to put this theory into practice? In this episode, Emily and Noah explore these questions and examine the impact of ableism on the college student experience while telling stories and providing practical advice for Residence Life Staff navigating these very systems and structures.
We're back in your feeds for another mini series. This time, we'll be featuring three other disability podcasts that are must-listens. First up is Crip Crap. Crip Crap was established in late 2021 as a container for producing and advancing disability media. It was created by Kennedy Healy, a white, fat, queer crip Writer and media maker, and Justin Cooper, a Black visual artist and disability advocate who became an ancestor in July 2024. Together, Justin and Kennedy have created a rich repository of conversations about representations of disability in media and in media making. We're thrilled to share one of them in our feed today. It's entitled “Access and Acting” with actress Terri Lynne Hudson. Kennedy, Justin, and Terri talk about access and representation, and the state of the entertainment and theater industries for disabled talent in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you enjoy, and be sure to subscribe to Crip Crap on your favorite podcast app.Check out the original episode page for transcripts and more information about the show.--Let us know what you think with a comment or review!Visit our website for transcripts.Subscribe to Qudsiya's Substack, Getting Down To ItSupport the team behind the podcast with a donation
“God is pursuing his people, even today. He is working to capture your attention.” Jesus declared that his disciples would be his witnesses “to the ends of the earth.” Early Christians lived out this proclamation in powerful and palpable ways. Today we struggle to witness to those close to us, let alone to those at the ends of the earth. This series offers a glimpse into ways early Christians witnessed. Impacted? With all the reboots and remakes going around, you figured Hollywood was going to have to get to Bloodsport eventually. But how do you cast it? And is a mid-major company known for horror and artsy-fartsy fare the way to go? We also have more complaints about the latest take on It and lament about what it means for Stephen King. We love vampire stories. As Sinners recently proved, you can tell a great one with strong acting and a top notch story. It seems like Night Patrol is going to go this route. The acting is spot on, with fantastic performances from Justin Long, Jermaine Fowler, and CM Punk, just to name a few. Everyone is completely locked in. The story about the LAPD's dark secret is also interesting. But when you add in demons, lizard men, African mysticism, and lots of blood, things get a little hard to follow. And this is on top of themes of colonizers, race relations, police brutality, and escaping your past. It never stops being fun, but it is a whole lot to take in.

Crip Mac Rushed To Hospital After Adam22's Brutal Attack Over His Wife
On today's episode meet Michael Soenen, creator and lead- producer of a raw, incredibly impactful documentary entitled, “Nothing to See Here: What Happens When Bloods, Crips, Police and Victims of Violence Make a Film.” It is a fascinating discussion about how this unique project, against many odds, got launched and took shape and how the film is making a difference in Watts, one of the most danger-filled neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Art has the power to affect us and can often bring about change. That is certainly the case with this powerful documentary.

Police, They Said It Could Not Be Done, Undercover With the Crips in Texas. For years, many in law enforcement believed it was impossible. Crossing racial, cultural, and gang boundaries at the deepest level of a violent criminal organization was something most said simply could not be done. But one Texas police officer proved them all wrong. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. Tegan Broadwater, a veteran of the Fort Worth Police Department, spent nearly two years embedded in one of the most dangerous Crips gangs operating in Fort Worth, Texas. What began as skepticism, and even laughter from colleagues, turned into one of the most successful undercover investigations the department had ever seen. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. “They told me flat out that it wouldn't work,” Broadwater later said. “That I wouldn't blend in, wouldn't be accepted, and wouldn't survive long enough to make a case. I took that personally.” Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . A Mission Few Would Attempt Undercover work, also known as a covert or clandestine operation, requires an officer to assume a false identity, gain trust, and quietly gather intelligence without ever revealing who they truly are. Unlike plainclothes policing, undercover operations demand total immersion, deception, and constant vigilance. Broadwater's assignment went even further. “There's undercover, and then there's deep cover,” he explained. “Deep cover means you live a separate life. You don't visit it, you become it.” Police, They Said It Could Not Be Done, Undercover With the Crips in Texas. Look for The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. His experience existed somewhere between traditional undercover work and deep cover. Pretending to be a high-end cocaine dealer, Broadwater infiltrated a violent Crips set responsible for drug trafficking, prostitution, and brutal violence that terrorized innocent residents. The risk was absolute. “If you're discovered, there's no arrest,” he said. “There's no backup. There's just consequences.” Two Years Inside the Fishbowl What followed was a high-stakes, real-life cat-and-mouse game between Broadwater and M.D., a calculated drug lord with a street-level MBA and sharp instincts. Broadwater earned trust, navigated betrayal, and lived daily with the psychological strain of maintaining his cover. “The stress doesn't turn off,” he said. “You're always acting, always watching, always measuring your words. Eventually, that pressure catches up to you.” Police, They Said It Could Not Be Done, Undercover With the Crips in Texas. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other podcast platforms. Over the course of the operation, Broadwater helped dismantle a major Crips network, leading to the arrest of 51 gang members. But the cost was high. The emotional toll of living among violent criminals, forming complex relationships, and witnessing generational cycles of crime ultimately led him to retire early from the Fort Worth Police Department. “I didn't leave because I was weak,” Broadwater said. “I left because the work changes you. And I knew it was time to choose my family, my health, and my future.” From the Streets to the Page Broadwater documented his experience in his book, Life in the Fishbowl – The Harrowing True Story of One Cop Who Took Down 51 of the Nation's Most Notorious Crips. The book is both an action-packed account of undercover policing and a deeply reflective examination of America's War on Drugs, gang culture, and more. Coulson described Broadwater as “the insider's insider.” More information about his work can be found at his website, see below, and his content is available on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other major platforms Beyond the Badge Today, Tegan Broadwater continues to share his story through the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, their Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Apple, Spotify, Podcasts, and News platforms, offering rare insight into undercover policing, stress, identity, and survival.
