Wassail Wassail Wassail! Christmas is almost upon us, and we've got a gift of a guest for you this week: Barry Jenkins, AKA Mr. Moonlight. He chats to Simon about ‘Mufasa', the origin story for Simba's father and the long-awaited prequel to 2016's live action animation Lion King. When a flood washes the cub-Mufasa away from his homeland and parents, he finds himself an outsider in an altogether new territory—where he stumbles across young lion Taka and begins a life-changing new journey to becoming the King of the Pride Lands we all know and love. Simon asks the Oscar winning indie director how he ended up helming this huge Disney musical, and what he's learned from the four-year journey to its release. We'll hear Mark's take on ‘Mufasa' too, along with reviews of two more animation releases this week. We've got ‘Sonic 3', where the speedy blue hedgehog and friends face new adversary Shadow—and Aardman's Christmas gift to us all, the new Wallace & Gromit adventure ‘Vengeance Most Fowl'. The nation's favourite plasticine pair are up against their old glove-headed adversary Feathers McGraw in this noirish stop-motion treat. You can hear Mark and Simon in conversation with co-directors Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham in last week's episode, recorded live at our Christmas Spectacular. Plus one more review of ‘Alien Onstage'—a gloriously oddball documentary about a group of Dorset bus drivers creating a theatrical version of the 1979 sci-fi film classic. We absolutely promise this is the wholesome if slightly madcap holiday viewing you didn't know you needed—but you really, really do. Matt Misci – aka – Mr. Pinky Ring Comedy – aka The Bald Barber is our guest this week. We JUST met Matt for first face to face last week where he was one of the hosts (and a judge … I think) at CPF Productions (Wicket Funny / Chris Flahive) comedy contest … In which Jacques, Wayne Russel and somehow Anthony Eugenio from Open Mic Pain Podcast, have all advanced to the finals Oct 18, 2024) And YES, Matt was wearing (his dad's) Pinky Ring when we met him and boy did he live up to the hype we had heard about him. A comic. A host / MC. And a booker. He might have gotten a late start into comedy but you'd sure think he's one of those 40-year vets we chat about most episodes. A barber IS a lot like a (hopefully) sober bartender. You really get to know your clients and about a year into sobriety Matt went to his first mic and knew this was for him. Yes, he does test out material on friends in his chair … they can't get up and he's holding scissors … can't ask for a more attentive audience! Matt chats the overwhelming special support he has gotten from day one from all areas of the hierarchy of New England comedy. Be it working material out with him, giving him shows he didn't expect to be getting for a while … even picking him up in the rain when he had car trouble on his way to a show. Now, yes, Jacques did (very unsuccessfully) tried to start a beef with Matt and Mike Koutrobis … but Matt wouldn't bite … so Jacques just gonna have to try harder next time to make stuff up! What's past is prologueI (and the rest of your EPM Conversations hosts) first knew Gabby from his time in Essbase product management, a role he has long left. Celvin and I (50% of your host population) have been out of the Oracle space since 2017 so it's difficult to remind ourselves that nothing stands still, and certainly not a dynamic personality like Gabby. Forgive us two if some of our questions dwell overmuch on the past, where Natalie's and Tim's are focused on today. However, Gabby's past story is one worth exploring as it informs the present – from the military to multiple startups to Big Red. Throughout it, he's his inimitable self, bringing humor (yeah, this is the plug for the first episode, but wait till the second episode – it's…incredible, and it doesn't make sense unless this episode is heard first) and a playful wit to the performance management space.Just some of the highlightsHyperRoll and its first home in Oracle Express, ASO, the lawsuit, HyperRoll's purchase by Oracle. just what exactly is Hybrid Essbase (the number of hours we've debated just what is happening under the covers), Essbase's place today and tomorrow, working at small and large firms alike, helping out idiots who write multiple books on Essbase, and philosophy. That's an awful lot to cover in an hour, hence this episode as part one of two.Join us, won't you?

In this week's episode the guys chat with a long time listener, and returning guest, Flatbed Mike; AKA: Mr. "Toot Toot"! Mike originally was a voicemail line call-in guest several times before joining us on episode 94: Around The World and Back, to share how he got into trucking. At that time Mike was just beginning his journey into the wild world of trucking. Now, a few years later, he still enjoys hitting the road to travel across the country, albeit at the expense of his sanity at times! This was a laugh-out-loud episode, as they tend to be with Mike, full of crazy stories, and even crazier comments. We couldn't have enjoyed our time more! So sit back, relax and enjoy the show! After last week Daddy had to go lay down, but never fear, our good friend James aka Mr Sunday Movies is here to fill in that Zammit-shaped hole to talk all things Krang! Well really one thing Krang: why'd they put him there? He's so exposed to one swift punch to the bread-basket! Krang can't look anyone in the eyes and is the perfect height for crop dusting. Surely there's a better place to put Krang in a robot body? Either way we can all agree that Krang looks so fun to punt, throw off a cliff or cook like a haggis. We don't know much but we do know we want to wreck Krang's day.You can find James on the Weekly Planet Podcast or on his YouTube channel Mr Sunday Movies. If you're in the UK and want to see these three beautiful boys live and in the flesh, head on over to https://www.sanspantsradio.com/events/category/live-shows/ and grab your tickets today to see them in London, Edinburgh and/or Manchester.
