Another week of a music reaction! This time it is an album from the artist Lil Yachty. The album is titled, "Let's Start Here" and it was released on January 27th of this year.Yachty has always been typically known for his rapping, but on this project he explores different genres like alternative rock and psychedelic rock. The first influences I could hear on this project wear Pink Floyd and Tame Impala.Listening all the way through the entirety of this LP is insanely large trip and I don't even take drugs. It is exciting because now we get to anticipate what Yachty will do next and see how his career progresses after an album of this caliber. The sound is pleasant to the ear and I think you all should give it a listen.Until next time,Cole Poots.----- Checklist -----Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pootsiemama/Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/colepootsTik tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pootsiemama

In this weeks episode I talk about Ronnie Radke, Falling in Reverse, and their latest single that was released titled, "Watch the World Burn".Ronnie Radke is a very polarizing figure in the music industry, you either love him or you hate him. The unfortunate thing is that his name has always been surrounded by heavy criticism for things he has done in the past.I for one can see that this man is attempting to turn his life around and it seems like people are trying to hold him hostage to his past decisions. He is extremely talented in music, his work ethic is undeniable, and everything this band puts out immediately garners eyeballs, clicks, and attention.I feel the need to come to Ronnie's aid/defense because what he is doing with his music, message, and unrelenting creativity is massively important for the day and age that we are living in. This man must be protected at all costs.Enjoy the episode, the video version will be up on YouTube here shortly.----- Checklist -----Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pootsiemama/Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/colepootsTik tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pootsiemama

Hello friends, it is officially 2023.This podcast/video actually took some forethought on my part this time.I wanted to encourage people by telling my story of how I got through my toughest experience with anxiety and depression.I think a lot of what plagues our society today is the victimhood mentality.People complain endlessly because it garners attention and sympathy from other people on the internet without ever requiring the complainer to actually get up off of their butt and improve their life.I'm here to tell you that mental health is a real thing and yet I have found ways to make my journey with it much more controllable. You have the power within you to get better. This phase, this season of life isn't going to last forever. What are you doing now that is going to pay dividends for your mental health in the future? If you feel incapable of solving your problems, are you asking for help? Are you making your situation worse by staying in the filth, making excuses for yourself? All valid questions you must ask yourself if you truly want to get out of the bad spot you are in right now.Hope this message helps, enjoy the episode! Play Episode Listen Later Dec 26, 2022 21:15

Hey guys, just a quick little message here.I wanted to put out a video/podcast talking about the New Year's Resolutions that are bound to pop up in the next week or so.We all know those people who say every time New Years rolls around that they are going to make significant, positive changes in their lives and this is going to be the year to do it.Don't fool yourself and please don't be one of these people. You know you're not going to get started and you know you're going to give yourself an out when it comes facing adversity and setbacks along the way.Instead, try a tool I used that actually did help me create a feasible mindset heading into the New Year and kickstarted the actions  I needed to take to get closer to that version of myself that I knew I always had in me.I call it my New Year's intentions and just be reframing those thoughts in my head helped  me come up with a better attack sequence that was going to get me real results.I've been using this tool for the last two years and all of my intentions in that time period have come true. You have to be willing to put in the work though. This isn't some type of manifestation nonsense where you try to speak it into existence without doing a god dang thing. It's more about writing these areas of desired change on paper, reminding yourself of those every single day, and then going out there into the real world and start executing. You are going to make mistakes. You are going to have mishaps. You are going to face adversity. You are going to be challenged a lot.You are going to have setbacks. That is the point.Don't avoid them.Allow them to make you better, to help you forge resiliency, to help guide you towards the light of tomorrow. In one years time you will be amazed at the progress you have made. You will realize the resolutions wouldn't have taken you to this place. It was your intention that brought about this change and it was your endless pursuit in this fight that lead you to never give up.Keep going guys, 2023 is there for the taking.----- Checklist -----Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pootsiemama/Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/colepootsTik tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pootsiemama

This week I had to address the breaking up of the best boyband since One Direction, none other than Brockhampton. It's a sad occasion, it really is."The Family" and "TM" just dropped on November 17th and its begun to really set in that these two projects may very well be their last two albums as a group.Although, "The Family" is mainly highlighted by Kevin Abstract and production from Bearface, the conclusion of the band is summed up on the project. Kevin goes through a series of emotions detailing how he feels at this moment in time. There isn't a whole lot of depth to it and yet I still feel like it comes off as genuine.I don't think these guys owe us any bit of an explanation as to why they split. I'm more so thrilled that we got some music from them.It sucks to see these guys break up the band but at the same time, I'm excited to see where their solo careers lead to.BH 4eva

Welcome back to another episode of Nurture the Mind. This week I talk about leadership and how we all are in a position to lead other people, we just don't know it.Since I started working my new job a few months ago and even last year when I was still at my old job, I started to see that I had an impact on people.I was able to influence people in a way that I had never realized before. It is now at the centerfold in my life and in front of my face every day at work, being that a personal trainer's job is to motivate and hold clients accountable.Along with that, a good leader is someone who never thinks they have all the answers. They encourage other's from a genuine place inside themselves. They ask questions to understand. They lead by example.People take me seriously because they see that I care, I take care of myself, my words and and my suggestions hold weight because I'm not just talking about it, I'm living and embodying it at the same time.We all have tremendous impact and influence on other people, we just need to realize it.This world could change rapidly fast if we knew we were leading other people even when it feels like we're being silent.----- CHECKLIST -----Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/colepootsInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/pootsiemama/Nurture the Mind podcast on Apple podcasts: http://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1020460.rssNurture the Mind podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/episode/2PNC709VVez1gt1n7tWZD7?si=28b291be6fd340d5

In this episode/podcast I talk about a podcast I listened to last week off of the Real AF podcast by Andy Frisella. In that episode Andy had a message for men specifically. The message essentially was....BE BETTER.Stand up for what is right.Choose the path of most resistance.Let your voice be heard.Tell the truth.Be courageous.Don't let this country go down in flames to the tyrants who are making it miserable for everyone else.Improve yourself.Personal excellence is the goal. And I felt that.So much so that I'm relaying that message to anyone who comes across this video or podcast. You can accomplish so much in your life in just one calendar year.It is your duty to lead by example and set the precedence for everyone who is watching you. Stop being mediocre.I pride myself on always committing to improve. To always look for ways to get better. That's what I'm proposing in this video. Do the hard work and the results will come down the pipe. You have to be willing to make sacrifices right now. That's where I'm at and I hope you can come join me and this movement. There has never been a more important time in America to stand up. I want to offer up a different approach to this procrastination mindset that never yields any true, tangible, reliable results.I'm talking about the use of intentions; a way to dive deep into one's self, have an honest conversation about what needs to change in your life, and use the start of the New Year to gain some positive momentum.FULL DISCLAIMER - THIS MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU BUT IT CERTAINLY HAS HELPED ME.SO, why not try it?You've been saying for years on end that this year was going to be different or this was the year you were going to get serious about your goals. What have you got to lose?At least give it a shot and see what happens.Nothing can change without some brutal honesty, a change in perception, and a release of all the things that have made you stay weak for as long as you can remember.Let's change together.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pootsiemama/Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/colepootsNurture the Mind podcast on Apple Podcasts:http://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1020460.rssNurture the Mind podcast on Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/episode/3zYzP7SfOVkmxPaLL3ekLX?si=W8fPMerJSv6UE6AdazQ-iQYouTube channel:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5zCXz3wceuKOdYVMQq_5Zw

He mentioned how the biggest thing that changed for him is just becoming more self-aware. We also talked about our childhood, reminiscing on the days when we would enjoy watching WWE. Jamie Glanz is a Senior at Simpson College. She is a part of the Track and Field team. Originally I was only going to interview her for a story I was writing for the Simpsonian, but we ended up exploring some really interesting topics. She studied abroad last semester in Scotland. She told me how much she took away from that experience as she learned a lot about how much she was actually capable of accomplishing hard moments of struggle. Growing up sheltered, dealing with anxiety and depression, this was a challenge where she finally got out of her own way and dealt with the uncomfortable nature of never having traveled anywhere outside of the Iowa State Fair. I think it's a great lesson for everyone - to get out of the comfort zone. I felt very inspired as we were talking and decided to travel to Utah once I graduate as I have been thinking for a while that I might end up out there one day.

In this episode we unravel our findings for a class project in MultiMedia Editing. For this project we focused on how students have been affected by COVID-19, specifically how has their mental health been impacted? Or, how are college students dating in a climate of social distancing and pandemic precautions? I had a great time exploring these topics and getting to the bottom of our research. I want to thank Suzanne for giving us this opportunity to learn more about how everyone is handling this school year. More importantly, I'd like to thank Olivia and Ethan for helping put in the work for this project.
