Let's get you to where you want to be!As we start wrapping up 2022, we begin focusing more on 2023. Have you started setting goals for the next year? If you have or haven't, here is a short list some of our favorite clips of things to inspire you to think a little bit deeper and set bigger goals.1: Think about increasing your prices. Do your research! Ask your team of experts what is possible for you!2: Be honest about who you are, what you can do, and what you aspire to be. 3. Treat your people well and focus more on the work culture you're building in your business. You can train people to do what you need them to do, but you can't change their personality. 4. Know your purpose and know your limiting beliefs. Identify what matters the most and as much of that as possible!5. When it comes to marketing, put the focus on the things that YOU own: your website, your email list, and your brand. Social media is fantastic for getting your name out there, but it is ultimately not something that you have any control over.We hope this small list gives you some frame of reference for what you can do to grow in 2023. Stoke that fire! The veterinary industry is anticipated to grow rapidly in the next ten years. As many young DVMs enter into their careers, it's good for them to weigh their options. What sets you apart? To a layperson, marketing seems to be akin to fishing with a cast net: chuck the net out and see what gets pulled back. That kind of thinking is an oversimplification of both. Just as cast net fishing requires smooth motions and a targeted area to aim for, so too does marketing. You might be asking, “What's all this about fishing? And how do I know where to aim my marketing??” First, it's a fun analogy and we're all about having fun around here. To answer your second question, you create a target for yourself by deciding what problems you're good at solving. Finding your niche helps you zero-in on those pain points that you enjoy resolving AND it helps you find the right kind of clients for your business. Today's episode is filled with snippets of excellent advice on niching down and figuring out what sets you apart from the crowd.Thank you for listening! Please like and subscribe here and on your podcast app of choice. Ace Chat, a leader in live chat operations for business websites, has been connecting prospects on the precipice of buying and real, live humans to help them make the decision to buy. Beth Bogan, the owner, is just like many business owners - she is systematically working through different processes to find what works, and then refining it to what works the best. We all have heard the most often repeated argument against online shopping: "I like to go into the store and get that in-person experience." Beth and her team have been focused on creating that experience by allowing your potential and current customers to chat with a live human from the comfort of their own home. They don't even need to get dressed! I can dress this up with funny analogies and metaphors all day long, but here is the bottom line: live chat works! Studies show that 38% of people say that after having a live chat with a brand, they made a purchase; on top of that that, 42% of people say prefer Live Chat while ONLY 16% say they want these conversations to take place on social media. Beth is a real business leader, elevating her team and clients over any silly ego nonsense, and today, I am proud to have her as a guest on the Abundant Beans Podcast!Thank you for listening! Please like and subscribe here and on your podcast app of choice. Where does your money go?In the last year, we've all had to quickly adapt to the chaos and uncertainty that came along with COVID-19. As the pandemic begins to subside (knock on wood!), we're all re-examining the changes we've made and considering what will continue to be important to us. Do we still need all of these apps we've signed up for in the last year? Have our telecommunication needs changed? How can we find the line between goods and services that are “worth every penny” and those that are “money vampires” for our businesses? Our guest this week is Jim Kiernan, a Strategic Partner at Schooley Mitchell. Schooley Mitchell is a cost reduction consulting business that helps reduce expenses in the areas of telecommunications, shipping, credit card processing, waste collection and e-Signature services. He looks for cost savings opportunities to make sure that when you bring money into your business, you're not sending it straight out the back door to pay for things you don't actually need.
