Printing Money is back with Episode 29. Alex Kingsbury (Product Line Manager – AM, nLIGHT) is back. Need we say more to convince you to listen? Either way, we'll say a little more. Episode 29 marks the first recording where Danny and Alex were in the same room. No promises, but maybe we'll add a video element one of these days. Themes from this episode include metal powders transactions, Los Angeles, Hamburg, Australia (not even including Alex's obvious Australian connection), and AM adjacent deals, and a number of follow-on rounds the companies of which we've been tracking on Printing Money for some time now. And yes, we devote some coverage to Nano Dimension! There are, as always, some very memorable lines sprinkled amongst (and very much part of) the fount of knowledge and insight that Danny and Alex offer. Please enjoy Episode 29 and check out our previous episodes too. This episode was recorded May 14, 2025. We are back to REFORGE our opinions on Alloyed (Part I) - the season one finale of The Rings of Power. After over a year away, we made the decision to split the finale in two so it wouldn't be too long...turns out we still had a LOT to say about the Stranger being Sauron, about the Harfoots being awesome, and about shipping a ship on a ship. The evolution of the modular thesis doesn't go without saying Osmosis and the Cosmos ecosystem. Being the hub of liquidity for the modular ecosystem assets (TIA, DYM, OSMO), Osmosis plays an important role for the space. In today's interview with co-founder Sunny Aggarwal, we discuss the recent rise of Celestine Sloths and how features like the Skip API allows for seamless cross-chain transactions, enabling users to mint NFTs on Stargaze by swapping currencies through Osmosis in a single transaction. This is a mega leap forward in interchain fluidity and for all of those who minted Sloths, you understand. We then went onto discuss the Mad Scientists collection which has recently gained traction, (Sunny's PFP) and how the tech behind this collection works. We discussed Backbone Labs and the plan to distribute a significant portion of protocol revenues to holders, and whether or not this "real yield" is bullish. Shortly after, we discussed the proposal from Osmosis about alloyed assets. Osmosis has introduced the concept of alloyed assets, which aggregrate various tokens into a unified asset pool to manage liquidity more effectively. This approach not only mitigates risks associated with individual bridge failures but also streamlines asset management across chains, thus simplifying the user experience significantly. But, is it really the best solution? We asked Sunny about the risks associated, some edge cases, and really dug into some areas where we feel they may have fell short... Sunny stepped up to the plate and addressed our concerns as always. Finally, towards the end of the podcast we talked about the hyperbitcoinization of Cosmos with players like Babylon and others. Sunny is pretty excited about this and we talked in-depth about this new phenomenon of bringing BTC to Cosmos and other ecosystems. We really enjoyed this conversation and hope you will too! Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis of the Prime Video series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. This week on the SciFi TV Rewatch podcast we discuss The Rings of Power season finale which includes the revelations that Halbrand is Sauron and the Stranger is most likely Gandalf. We question whether we'll see the Harfoot next season and why the elves must head to Valinor. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave questions the wisdom of waiting up to two years to present a follow up season for The Rings of Power. Wayne delves into Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands has some interesting thoughts about She Hulk, but gives The Rings of Power an A for the season. Cincinnati Joe is a bit less complimentary, particularly about the writing. We have reached the end of our adventure and discuss the finale of The Lord of The Rings The Rings of Power Episode 8 Alloyed in our spoiler filled podcast. The Rings Of Power Episode 8 Alloyed Synopsis Episode Written by Gennifer Hutchison with John D. Payne and Patrick McKay Episode Directed by Wayne Chi Yip Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien In the East, the white witches known as the Servants of Sauron catch up with The Stranger proclaiming him Lord Sauron, and pledging their service to him so that he may lift the veil of his enemies so he may know himself once again and rule over the lands of Middle-Earth. Nori and the Harfoots also manage to catch up with The Stranger, who has been bound by the Servants of Sauron to keep him from using his powers, which he still has little control over. They manage to free him and help him realise who he really is - he is not Sauron but one of the Istari or wizards. They manage to fend off the Servants of Sauron stealing The Dweller's staff, which the Stranger then uses to banish the trio back to the shadow. Meanwhile, Galadriel and an injured Halbrand arrive in Eregion, much to the surprise of Elrond. The elvish medicine soon has Halbrand on his feet and he seeks out Celebrimbor, the great forger, and in their discussions Halbrand suggests a way of forging the mithril with other metals to enhance its strength. But as Celebrimbor explains what he must do to save the Elves from their diminishing light his choice of words makes Galadriel suspicious of Halbrand's keen interest in the work at the great forge. She checks into the royal lineages of the Southlands. As work progresses in the forge, Galadriel confronts Halbrand with her discovery that he is not from the lineage of the Southland kings, which was broken many years ago. Halbrand reveals himself to be Sauron, and infiltrates her mind to persuade her to become his queen and rule Middle-Earth with him as king, but she refuses. Sauron overpowers Galadriel and flees from Eregion. Keeping what she knows from Elrond and Celebrimbor, she instructs Celebrimbor to forge Three Rings instead of two, so that it brings balance to the holders. Elendil and Míriel arrive back to Númenór to find king Tar-Palantir has died. While back amongst the Harfoots, the Stranger and Nori decide to depart the group and travel east, into Rhûn, to find the “Hermit's Hat” constellation. Unsure which way to go, the Stranger chooses a direction based upon the sweet smell in the air, advising that when in doubt, to "always follow your nose". As their adventure into the East begins, so the journey of Sauron from Eregion finishes as he reaches the Land of Mordor. We are fired up about this episode, similar to the forges of Cerebrimbor's workshop, but, not in the best ways. We are left feeling let down with the season finale. We feel that we have discovered who the stranger is, and, we have the worst reveal of Sauron that we could have imagined? Join us as we dive in and discuss what we felt was a truly lack-luster finale, and what our hopes had been for the story. If you disagree with us, we want to hear from you! It's a race against time as the era of the Elves begins to fade. Answers are revealed, and new questions are raised, as our heroes struggle to craft a means of survival while evil looms. That is the core struggle of THE RINGS OF POWER SEASON 1 FINALE! How do we choose who WE want to be? How does the past define us? How do we let go? What's the difference between a journey and an adventure? And how do we persevere when we've been so brutally deceived? These are just some of the core questions at the heart of this thrilling installment. And yes, we talk about THOSE two characters.
