i On our radar this week… © Clay Jones – claytoonz.substack.com In the last week, the list of Donald Trump's broken campaign promises was seemingly endless: beginning with starting a Middle East War and increasing gas prices to go up 60-cents-a-gallon (with the prospect of Four Dollar per gallons looming … maybe even more). The “I will end inflation” guy is now looking at inflation headed in the wrong direction. The man who promised to create manufacturing jobs has given way to the reality of manufacturing job losses. Promises of draining the swamp have taken a multi-billion-dollar detour into the Trump family bank accounts. The long-ago pledge to balance the budget and pay off the national debt have been transformed into record-setting deficits in order to cut taxes for the yachts-and-private-jets crowd. And the promise to release the Epstein Files … well, we all know how that's going. Also this week: We have the tenth special election flip from Republican to Democrat – this time in New Hampshire … as the Trump Train Wreck barrels down the tracks with his polling numbers hitting a new all-time low. His latest political Hail Mary is the SAVE Act which would take away the right to vote from untold hundreds-of-thousands. But his demands are falling on deaf ears on Capitol Hill, with Senate Majority Leader John Thune telling him it ain't gonna happen. The Trump family has, of course, figured out how to make money from the war. Sonny and Fredo, a.k.a. Don Jr. and Eric, are backing a new drone company that is vying to meet fresh demand from the Pentagon and fill a hole left by the administration's ban on new Chinese drones in the U.S. Clay Jones – claytoonz.substack.com Trump says the U.S. won the war in the first hour. But they still managed to spend 11-billion dollars after we supposedly had won…and the bombing continues. It looks like the Gordie Howe Bridge will be putting the Maroun Family into the penalty box. Tolls to cross the not-yet-open bridge will be less than half the fees at the competing Ambassador Bridge for both passenger vehicles and commercial trucks, setting in motion a forthcoming toll war between the two Detroit River crossings. Michigan Democrats are using the Bridge controversy to highlight the financial ties between the Maroun family and GOP Senate candidate Mike Rogers. In Michigan, Republican candidates for Governor are all calling for pretty much closing most of state government by repealing the income tax, property taxes, or both. Apparently they think things like State Police, prisons, public health, public parks, food safety inspections, mental health and our universities can all be funded with the sales tax, sin taxes, unclaimed bottle deposits, the lottery and the tooth fairy. The state Senate has passed bipartisan legislation to help people deal with medical debt. But its fate is uncertain in the House, where Speaker Matt Hall has very different ideas for addressing medical debt through more transparency in pricing. Petitions have been filed with the state to force a vote in November on a deceptive proposal which, on its face, prohibits non-citizens from voting in Michigan … something that is already a part of state law. Left unstated by the backers are the proposal's impact on voting rights. A longtime chronicler of state government has taken a look behind the proposal of “Americans for Citizens Only Voting.” John Lindstrom has covered state government over the last four decades. Since retiring as publisher of the highly regarded Gongwer Michigan report, he's been a columnist for the Detroit Free Press. President Donald Trump returned to Georgia and largely left the 2026 landscape unchanged. Greg Bluestein and Patricia Murphy break down his renewed endorsement of Lt. Gov. Burt Jones in the governor's race, his decision to stay neutral in the GOP Senate primary, and what that means for Mike Collins, Buddy Carter and Derek Dooley. They also unpack a federal judge's ruling that blocks Jones from spending leadership committee funds and how that could reshape the race. After leaving her role performing the duties of the chief information officer for the Department of Defense last month, Katie Arrington has taken a new position as CIO at quantum computing company IonQ. Arrington will step into the role Jan. 19, reporting to the company's COO and CFO Inder Singh, IonQ announced Wednesday. Kirsten Davies was nominated by President Donald Trump in May 2025 to be the Defense Department CIO, and it took most of the remainder of 2025 for the Senate to confirm her into the role. She was sworn in just before the Christmas holiday, at which point Arrington stepped away from her service to the Pentagon. In joining IonQ, Arrington will serve on the company's executive team. As CIO, Arrington will continue to support the U.S. military from a different vantage, leading modernization and security of IonQ's enterprise systems in support of its mission to deliver quantum capabilities to American warfighters. Before rejoining the Pentagon a year ago, then as deputy CIO for cybersecurity, Arrington had a previous stint as CISO in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, where she was largely responsible for the development of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program. Now: President Donald Trump re-nominated Sean Plankey to lead the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency on Tuesday, after Plankey's bid for the position ended last year stuck in the Senate. It's not clear whether or how Plankey's resubmitted nomination will overcome the hurdles that left many observers convinced his chance of becoming CISA director had likely ended, but it does definitively signal that the Trump administration still wants Plankey to have the job. Plankey's nomination was included in a batch sent to the Senate announced on Tuesday. CISA spent all of 2025 under Trump without a permanent director. Trump nominated Plankey, who held a couple cybersecurity roles in the first Trump administration, to lead CISA in March. He got a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing in July, then won approval from that panel that same month. But Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., had placed a hold on Plankey's nomination over a Coast Guard contract that the Homeland Security Department had canceled in part. While he awaited confirmation, Plankey had been serving as a senior adviser to the secretary for the Coast Guard. A spokesperson for Scott did not immediately respond to a request for comment. North Carolina's GOP Senate delegation also had placed holds on DHS nominees related to disaster aid to their state. Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., said last week that the holds would remain until Secretary Kristi Noem appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee. A White House official had denied reports that Plankey's nomination was all but over last year. “President Trump has been clear that he wants all of his nominees confirmed as quickly as possible, including Sean Plankey, who will play a key role in ensuring a strong cyber defense infrastructure,” the official told CyberScoop. Asked Wednesday at the Surface Navy Association national symposium about what he was doing to convince senators to lift their holds, Plankey answered, “The administration, the White House has to say that this is a priority of us.” The Daily Scoop Podcast is available every Monday-Friday afternoon. In this special episode of the Chuck ToddCast, Chuck continues his “What If” series, an exploration of how small decisions and turning points can radically reshape American history. Using the razor-thin 2000 election as a starting point, Chuck explains why counterfactuals are a powerful way to understand how we got here—and how different choices might have altered today’s polarized political landscape. The episode then dives into two alternate histories surrounding the 2020 election, examining the butterfly effects of outcomes that almost happened but didn’t. First, Chuck asks what America might look like if Donald Trump had lost in 2020 and accepted the result—no “stop the steal,” no January 6th, and a very different Biden presidency likely constrained by a Republican Senate and a weaker Democratic coalition. Then he flips the premise and explores a more provocative scenario: what if Trump had actually won in 2020? With stronger institutional guardrails, a less sycophantic cabinet, and immediate lame-duck pressures, Chuck argues the country may have experienced less chaos at home and abroad, even as major global questions—from Afghanistan to Ukraine—would still loom. The episode ultimately shows how January 6th became a hinge point that reshaped both Biden’s presidency and Trump’s second term, leaving open the unsettling possibility that American politics—and even the 2024 race—could look entirely different today. Their disagreement over releasing the Epstein files has triggered new divisions inside the GOP and raised questions about how Greene's recent attempts at moderation are being received by voters in Georgia's 14th District.Ron is joined by Wendy Davis, co-host of The Kudzu Vine podcast and former Democratic candidate in GA-14, who offers local insight into Greene's evolving tone, her increased visibility on national media, and how these changes compare with her long-standing record. Davis explains why many constituents remain skeptical and highlights how Greene's positions on major legislation continue to shape opinions in the district. The conversation also digs into the broader Republican landscape, including the reactions of Georgia's 2026 Senate hopefuls. Potential GOP challengers to Greene—such as Colton Moore and Laura Loomer—are on the radar, raising the prospect of a competitive primary that could reshape the district's political dynamics. The conversation closes with a look at the Democratic field, including Shawn Harris, and the qualities that may resonate with voters amid these shifting dynamics.Even Eric Erickson's conservative insights prove to be somewhat valuable here. Then there's "dirtbag" Congressman Mike Collins, who signaled support for releasing the Epstein files after Trump reversed his own position. Who owns the future of the Democratic Party? That's the question on everyone's mind since last Tuesday night—when the richest city in America elected 34-year-old democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani as its mayor. You can see Mamdani's win as a one-off—a charismatic contender facing a rival mired in controversy. But the other way to see it is as emblematic of something larger: a sign about the state—and future—of the left. Here was a candidate promising to solve the affordability crisis with free childcare, free buses, rent freezes, and even government-run grocery stores. And despite the socialist bent, most establishment Democrats fell in line to support him—from Kathy Hochul and Hakeem Jeffries to Barack Obama, who reportedly called Mamdani to offer himself as a sounding board. If that's true—if Mamdani is the new standard-bearer for Democrats in the way Obama once was—then where does that leave someone like Senator John Fetterman? The Pennsylvania senator didn't just withhold his endorsement—he went so far as to say that socialism is not the future of the Democratic Party. It's an interesting stance, given that just a few years ago, Fetterman ran a progressive Senate campaign focused on reforming criminal justice, legalizing marijuana, and raising the minimum wage. He was backed by AOC and Bernie Sanders. The right even called him a “silver-spoon socialist.” Then came his near-fatal stroke on the day of his Democratic primary—followed by calls from both sides to drop out. Instead, he stayed in the race and won, flipping a GOP Senate seat. Since coming to Congress, Fetterman has stood out—and not just because he's six-foot-eight. He's shown strong support for Israel, a departure from many in his party. He's said Democrats mishandled border security under Biden. He praised the president for his peace deal in Gaza—and even met with him in Mar-a-Lago. He's also publicly blamed Democrats for the government shutdown, saying: “I follow country, then party.” He refused to “play chicken with the food security of 42 million Americans,” and voted 15 times with Republicans to reopen Washington. On Sunday night, the Senate finally voted to reopen the governement—but only after 40 days of missed paychecks, travel chaos, and millions at risk of losing SNAP benefits. It was just the latest litmus test for Democrats, highlighting the divide between the centrists and the progressives—between, for lack of better words, the Fetterman wing and the Mamdani wing. And now, Democrats may have to decide which impulse to run on—in 2026, and in 2028.Today, Bari asks John Fetterman about his decision to speak out against his own party; his recent dinner with Donald Trump—and the backlash that followed; the shutdown and whether he believes the Democratic Party is heading in the right direction; and finally, his new book Unfettered, which chronicles his journey to the Senate, his stroke, his battle with depression, and his time in office. As I record this episode, we are on the edge — maybe already over it, by the time you read this — of a government shutdown. And I want to give you a bit of the behind-the-scenes intel I picked up that helps explain how we got here. According to one of my sources on the Hill (a Republican, for the record), the read is that Chuck Schumer is locked in. He's in a “dark place,” unwilling to budge, and if anything's going to change, it'll come from other Democrats. That's been the drumbeat here: Schumer can't blink. If he does, he opens himself up to a leadership challenge. And that's the one thing a Senate leader absolutely cannot do.The Democrats are trying to pitch the shutdown as a way to stand up for healthcare — that's the messaging. But the problem is that if the government shuts down, there are a lot of healthcare extensions and services that begin to expire immediately. I read off a list of them: community health centers, Medicare adjustments, ambulance payment programs, disaster medical systems — the works. The irony is that the parts Democrats hate the most about the Trump administration don't shut down. ICE doesn't go anywhere. Deportations still happen. Those are essential — and Trump's people decide what counts as essential.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. The fight, according to Democrats, is over Obamacare subsidies and Medicaid cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill. But those cuts don't even kick in until after the midterms. Meanwhile, essential Democratic priorities lose funding the moment the lights go out. And that's the trap. They're betting that Trump wants to make a deal — that he wants to look like a bipartisan dealmaker. Maybe they believe they can spin this into a win. But let's remember what happened the last time Trump tried that in 2018: he got nothing. If they're hoping for Trump to ride in and rescue them, that's a risky game. The GOP Senate and House leaders — Thune and Johnson — are more than happy to let this ride. Hell, there are people in that party who love a shutdown. It's a stress test for them, a chance to see what happens when the government turns off. And the data doesn't look good for Democrats. A New York Times/Siena poll had just 27% of all respondents — and only a slim plurality of Democrats — supporting the idea of a shutdown if demands aren't met. That's a brutal place to be when you're the one pulling the trigger. So here we are: Schumer boxed in, the party divided, and the shutdown clock striking midnight. Maybe there's a backdoor deal. Maybe Trump throws them a rope. But right now? The only guaranteed outcome is pain.Chapters00:00:00 - Intro00:01:41 - Shutdown00:08:42 - Interview with Evan Scrimshaw00:30:33 - Update00:31:21 - Hegseth's Meeting00:34:42 - Schweikert for Gov00:36:09 - NYT Polling on Shutdown00:37:06 - Interview with Evan Scrimshaw (con't)01:15:30 - Wrap-up This is a public episode. Vance for president. Plus, they chat about a new Time magazine profile of Democratic candidate for New York Mayor - Zohran Mamdani, and what changes his leadership might make in a city where rent control and high taxes are already in place. Tara explores two explosive stories showing how both the Left and the Republican establishment are sabotaging border security. In Denver, activists used the “Ice Block” app to help a convicted child rapist wanted by Interpol escape federal agents—highlighting how progressive networks actively obstruct law enforcement. Meanwhile, in Washington, GOP Senate leader John Thune and Lindsey Graham are inserting “poison pills” into Trump's immigration bill to preserve Medicaid for 1.4 million illegals, all while pretending their hands are tied by an unelected parliamentarian. Tara exposes how Bush-era donor influence still drives Republican betrayal, how Elon Musk is vowing to primary every pro-amnesty Republican, and why Trump's own fiscal promises could risk bankrupting America if economic growth falls short. In South Carolina, AG Alan Wilson announces his run for governor, promising to end the state income tax, unleash radical transparency, and deputize all state law enforcement to remove illegal immigrants—following Florida's aggressive deportation model.
It's Tuesday, June 3rd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Indonesian boy killed for his Christian faith An 8-year-old Indonesian boy in the Seberida district was killed for his faith in Jesus on May 19th, reports International Christian Concern. Indonesia is an 87% Muslim country. The boy, publicly named as K.B., was beaten to death by five older Muslim boys. Pastor Piet, of the GPDI Solagracia church where the family worshipped, remembers him as a child who was “diligent in Sunday school, often participating in Bible quizzes, and often winning.” His father said, “He was my first child. My second child is a girl. He was a good and strong child. He dreamed of becoming a soldier. I used to want to become a soldier, but I didn't. That's why I wanted him to become a soldier.” Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Polish voters elect conservative president After a national election over the weekend, Poland will join a growing group of Western nations moving to the right of center -- more nationalistic, more supportive of traditional values, and more opposed to the internationalism of the day. A former boxer and historian, Mr. Karol Nawrocki, won the presidential election by a close vote of 50.9% to 49.1%. Nawrocki had been endorsed by President Donald Trump. Nawrocki quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14, stating that God would “heal the land” if they would “turn away from wicked ways, reports the Associated Press.” The conservative edge in Poland has stood firm against pro-abortion policies and pro-European Union trends over the last five years. That will appear to continue with the Nawrocki administration. Poland will join the United States, Argentina, Hungary, and Italy, as nations that have moved in a conservative direction over the last few election cycles. GOP Senate fiscal hawks balking at price tag of Trump's Bill President Donald Trump's Big Beautiful Federal Spending Bill is heading to the U.S. Senate. But several Republican senators are balking at the price tag, including Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and Josh Hawley of Missouri, reports Liberty Counsel Action. GOP Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin is proposing that at least $838 billion be cut from federal spending to reduce government expenditures from 23.3% to 20.6% of the gross national income. This would reduce government to the relative size of the economy in 2019 before the COVID crisis. In other words, Senator Johnson is simply requesting that government be reduced to pre-pandemic levels. Presently, the Congressional Budget Office is estimating that President Trump's Big Beautifull Bill will add another $22 trillion to the $37 trillion of federal debt — putting the U.S. debt at 134% of the Gross Domestic Product by 2035. Japan and United States have weak bond auctions The leading Keynesian governments in the world are having a hard time getting people to fund their debt. Japan's bond auction yielded the weakest demand since the 2010 recession. The U.S. bond auction last week was extremely weak, resulting in 30-year bond interest to bump up to 5.15% — the highest rate since 2007. Ukrainian drone attack took out one-third Russian's long-range bombers Ukraine dispatched a drone attack deep into Russia, hitting some key military sites over the weekend. The bombings have reportedly taken out more than one-third of Russia's long range bombers, crippling Russia's nuclear capabilities. Homosexual pride marches have lost up to 50% of sponsorship The licentious elements of society are celebrating their pride month in June. Slate.com reports a reduction in corporate sponsorships of the homosexual/transgender pride marches in the U.S. Some have lost 40-50% of the corporate monies they have received in previous years. Plus, companies like Comcast, Anheuser-Busch, and Smirnoff have dropped Pride sponsorships altogether. The firm Booz Allen Hamilton pulled sponsorships, referring to the president's executive orders -- one of which prohibits the U.S. government from contracting with companies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. The World Pride event is taking place in Washington D.C. this year, the first time in the United States since the New York City event in 2019. The larger sponsors of homosexual/transgender Pride events like World Pride include Hilton, Delta Airlines, Amazon, IKEA, Verizon, Corona, Fresca, and Starbucks. Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and Kroger are also supporting homosexual events this year. 1 John 2:16 and 17 speaks of lust and pride. It says, “All that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” Focus on the Family targeted for affirming God's design for sexuality Focus on the Family is being targeted by the Southern Poverty Law Center for its opposition to homosexual behavior and gender transition for youths. The leftist group was particularly outraged with Jim Daly's more recent interviews of Rosaria Butterfield, and an interview of Walt Heyer and Kathy Grace Duncan. These were Christians who have repented of sins of homosexual behavior and transgenderism. The Southern Poverty Law Center has been notorious for conflating Christian groups with Neo-Nazi and racist groups in the United States, and promoting persecution of Christians. Other ministries on their list include Family Research Council, Liberty Council, Coral Ridge Ministries, Alliance Defending Freedom, and Generations. Abortion Kill Pill creator died at 98 A French scientist, responsible for the deaths of 50 million babies, himself died last week at 98 years of age. Étienne-Émile Baulieu was instrumental in the development of the abortion kill pill, RU-486, in 1980. About half of abortions in developed nations have been conducted by the abortion pill since the 2010s. Today, chemical abortion accounts for 63% of all abortions in America. The BBC reports that French President Emmanuel Macron, called Dr Baulieu "a beacon of courage" and "a progressive mind who enabled women to win their freedom." 6 Worldview donors gave $730 And finally, toward this week's $30,875 goal to fund The Worldview newcast by this Friday, June 6th, six listeners stepped up to the plate. Our thanks to Daniel in San Luis Potosí, Mexico who gave $5, Kimberly in Sacramento, California who gave $25, and Deborah in Cosmopolis, Washington who gave $50. We're also grateful to God for Keith and Marsha in Morgan, Colorado who gave $100, Genita in Bardstown, Kentucky who gave $250, and Frances in Beacon, New York who pledged $25/month for 12 months for a gift of $300. Ready for our total? Drum roll please. (Drum roll sound effect) $730 (People clapping sound effect) That means by this Friday, we need to raise $30,145. I received an intriguing text from a friend in Michigan. She suggested that I ask if someone would prayerfully consider underwriting half of our entire budget. That would be $61,750. Or perhaps you could cover the $30,145 that we need to raise this week. But, alas if those big dollar amounts are not remotely possible, every $25 and $50 donation gets us incrementally closer to being fully funded. Just go to TheWorldview.com and click on Give on the top right. I would love to see 20 people make donations on this, our second day. Consider making a monthly pledge by clicking on the recurring donation tab. Let's see what the Lord will do as The Worldview in 5 Minutes proclaims the truth in a world of pagan-biased news. In this explosive two-part segment from The Tara Show, host Tara Servatius dives deep into the lingering questions around the FBI's handling of the Epstein files and assassination attempts on former President Trump. With growing public distrust, even Trump himself seems skeptical of the explanations from FBI Director Kash Patel. Tara dissects the agency's slow-walking of critical information and challenges their narrative with hard-hitting questions. Then, Tara turns to South Carolina's political battlefield, speaking with GOP Senate challenger Mark Lynch, who's taking on longtime incumbent Lindsey Graham. Lynch, backed by millions of his own dollars and strong grassroots momentum, discusses Graham's history of betraying conservatives, Trump's baffling endorsement, and why voters are hungry for real change. This is a no-holds-barred conversation about power, accountability, and the fight to reclaim truth and leadership in Washington.

On Monday's Mark Levin Show, the battle begins Tuesday with the hearings for President-Elect Trump's cabinet posts. Every one of Trump's nominees must be confirmed. These hearings will be a test of the Republican Senate majority. If the GOP Senate majority will not confirm Trump's cabinet nominees, then those who vote no must be primaried and defeated. The GOP owes its majority to Trump and his landslide victory. Sen Chuck Schumer has made clear he wants to use the nomination process to weaken Trump and sabotage his entire agenda. Schumer and his thugs must be put in their place, they must be crushed, and their sickening character assassination tactics must be exposed and defeated. The Senate Democrats will go over the allegations against Pete Hegseth not because they believe them, but because it is what they do -- the Senate Democrats are perversely obsessed with sex as a weapon against GOP nominees. The goal is to smear, humiliate, destroy. Later, the Democrats are now starting – rather than change course and apologize for the wildfires in California, they whine about Trump. Gov Gavin Newsom should worry about his state, not Trump. Also, President Biden is taking credit for the achievements of others like Benjamin Netanyahu and the IDF. Biden undermined Israel every step of the way. If there is a hostage deal it's thanks to Trump and Netanyahu. Afterward, Florida's legislative leaders Daniel Perez and Ben Albritton are typical do-nothing Republicans. They are opposing Gov Ron DeSantis's call for a special session to deal with the deportation of illegal aliens and further hurricane relief. All Floridians should get involved on these two huge issues, call your state reps and state senators, call Perez and Albritton, and insist that they act immediately. Learn more about your ad choices.
