Have you ever watched your husband and wondered if they have the same quality of relationship with the Lord as you? Have you wondered exactly when, where, and how they spend time with Jesus? Have you compared what you see in their walk with what you may view as a truly solid relationship with God?The reality is that there is no one way to commune with our Heavenly Father. God made us each different with different temperaments and personalities, so it makes sense that there are numerous ways to have a healthy relationship with Jesus. If God created us each with the ability to make choices instead of making robots, then He appreciates the variety in which His people walk with Him.Listen in today as Tiffany Jo Baker shares the concept of the book Sacred Pathways: 9 Ways to Connect to God by Gary Thomas. She will name and explain 9 ways that you or your loved ones might connect with God. This could clear up many lingering questions you might have on the topic.Listen in for:•Ways we might compare our walk with the Lord with our husbands•Why we cannot compare our relationship with God with others•What some of the different relationship styles are•How we might finally understand our own relationship styleFavorite Quotes:"My way is not always the best way, it may be for me because that's how I'm wired, and how God made me." - Tiffany Jo Baker"Not one way of worship is better or more right than the other way." - Tiffany Jo BakerVerse:"My heart says of you, 'Seek his face!' Sarah and Miranda dive into the chaos and comedy of back-to-school season, teen babysitter economics, toy gun ethics, and of course, the emotional calculus of modern parenting (and Miranda accidentally makes Sarah cry). We unpack whether Stepbrothers is misogyny at its most insidious, why we are selling kids pink AK-47s, our crone fantasies, and the weird beauty of watching your kids become people. Not relevant to the episode at all, but relevant generally: Links* Tilt by Emma Pattee* The Family Fang by Kevin Wilson* Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld* Four Mothers by Abilgail Leonard* Elena Ferrante* Miranda 's gun toys pieceIf you love the work we do on Mother Of It All, please consider becoming a paid subscriber, which you can do at motherofitall.substack.com. Summer Island by Kristin Hannah: Kristin Hannah is the author of several extremely popular books, including The Nightingale and The Women. They're historical fiction, but this one is contemporary - about a broken mother and daughter relationship. Nora Bridge is a nationally syndicated talk show host who dispenses moral and spiritual advice to her legion of listeners, and whose daughter Ruby is a wannabe stand up comedienne, using her mother as the butt of a lot of her jokes. When Nora is publicly shamed and the two of them are thrown together, family secrets emerge which bring about a reconciliation, and a show of courage that neither knew they had. The Surrogate Mother by Freida McFadden: Abby is desperate for a baby but has been unable to conceive, so when Monica, her new work assistant, offers to act as a surrogate she and her husband are thrilled. Things, though, don't go quite as they'd planned - Abby becomes increasingly sure that Monica's up to no good, but who can she tell and who will listen? We have all had days when anger, frustration, or even fear attacks out of nowhere. Have you ever been quick to assume that it is due to a lack of sleep, being hangry, or any other physical reason? Have you found yourself excusing the emotion because it just couldn't be helped?Did you know that there can be demonic, non-physically related reasons that you feel emotions that throw off your day? It's true, there are many physical reasons that we encounter a plethora of emotions in a day, but it is not the only reason. Satan would like nothing more than to stir the atmosphere of your home, your job, etc., to pull your focus and attention elsewhere. God has a plan for each of our lives, and even our days, so if satan can throw us off our game, he will. Our Father God has made provisions for us to stand against the attacks of the enemy. He has given us His Holy Word, Holy Spirit to guide us, and a direct line to Him through prayer. Listen in today as Tiffany Jo Baker discusses four ways that we can recognize the demonic attack, and the shift in the atmosphere, in addition to how to deal with it!Listen in for:•How to discern when a demonic attack has caused a shift in the atmosphere•When unhealthy emotions are NOT physical•Why satan attacks the atmosphere around us•What we can do to fight satan and free ourselves from attacksFavorite Quotes:"As Christians, we can discredit what satan is trying to do, or live on the other end where everything is demonic." - Tiffany Jo Baker"We need to be better about asking Jesus first of all, is this physical or spiritual?" - Tiffany Jo Baker"There are so many ways that we can sense, hear, and receive from the Lord." - Tiffany Jo BakerFavorite Scriptures:For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. How many of you can distinctly remember a soul-stabbing comment made about you by someone you cared about or wish cared about you? Do you still feel the pain of that many years later? What if YOU are the one saying hateful things about yourself, like, "I am so stupid! I am so fat!"The Bible has a lot to say about our words, because they matter more than we realize. We have the opportunity each new day to speak life, health, and prosperity over ourselves, our families, and our situations. In the same way, we have opportunities each day to speak death, destruction, and lack. We can come into agreement with Jesus and what He says about us, or come into agreement with satan, who only wants to steal, kill, and destroy us. Listen in as Tiffany Jo Baker discusses the power of creating confessions and daily declaring God's truth over ourselves every single day.Listen in for:Why what we speak over ourselves can make a differenceWhat God says about our words in the BibleHow we can use Scripture to create daily life-giving confessionsFavorite Quotes:"You, too, can create daily declarations. If there's a subject or a thing going on in your life, find what the Word says and speak it out daily." - Tiffany Jo Baker"The old nursery rhyme, 'Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me!' is a lie from the pit of hell!" - Tiffany Jo BakerFavorite Scripture:"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." - Proverbs 18:21*If you're looking for perfectly polished people or podcast, this isn't for you. Meet Keri Croft, an infertility, child loss and surrogacy advocate who went through 16 years of infertility. On today's ep, Keri tells Ali all about her family building journey, which includes having her son, and also the devastating loss of her first girl, Angel, who was missing part of her cerebellum. "It was a horrible, horrible decision to have to make, and I wouldn't wish it on anybody," Keri says of undergoing a TFMR (Termination for Medical Reasons). Keri talks about how a balanced translocation affected their fertility journey, and also how she navigated IUI and IVF. "I tried everything. And of course that takes a toll on your marriage. It was an absolute clusterfuck," she says. Keri also shares how she lost two other girls, Hope and Jade, how she and her husband decided to pursue surrogacy, and launching her workshop, Find Your Dream Surrogate. "After years of fertility treatments, loss, and heartbreak, I eventually had my daughter via a surrogate — a journey I navigated completely independently, without an agency," Keri says. "It was beautiful and brutal and eye-opening in ways I never expected. When it was all said and done, I kept thinking: Why the hell isn't there a better roadmap for this? So I built one."For more, go to www.kericroft.comFollow on IG: @thekericroftshowTOPICS COVERED IN THIS EPISODE: Pregnancy; TFMR; trying to conceive; pregnancy loss; baby loss; IVF; IUI; balanced translocation; surrogacy; ART; EPISODE SPONSORS: BEAUTIFUL BIRD AND WORK OF ARTAli's Children's Book Series about IVF, IUI and Family Building Through Assisted Reproductive Technology https://www.infertileafgroup.com/booksThe latest book in the Work of ART series, “Beautiful Bird” tells the story of three parents, one incredible boy and a family built with love—and a little bit of science.Pre-orders are available now! Today, I'm so honored to have Kristin McQuaid joining me to talk about a very touching and powerful topic: support for surrogate mothers and intended parents through infant loss. Kristin and her husband, Steve, started a non-profit organization in honor of their daughter, London Quinn, who was born still at 39 weeks in July, 2021. They named the organization "London is the Reason," and the non-profit focuses on supporting surrogates and their intended parents through infant loss. I feel quite privileged to have Kristin share her story, and the story of her daughter London with us. I know you will be moved by what she shares. We will be talking about her diagnosis of stage four endometriosis, how she learned about surrogacy, and how she, her husband and their gestational carrier navigated through the loss of London last year. She will also share additional resources for anyone experiencing loss as a surrogate and intended parent. And, you can learn more about “London is the Reason,” and how to get involved. You may know Kristin McQuaid is a choreographer, dancer, designer, creative director, director, and producer. Her work has gone viral on "You Think You Can Dance," and "Dance Moms." She now stars in her own reality show, "Kickin' it with Kristin," which launched on YouTube in Fall of 2021. Thank you for joining me, Kristin! Joseph Torigian's The Party's Interest Comes First: The Life of Xi Zhongxun, Father of Xi Jinping is a monumental scholarly achievement — easily a contender for one of the best China books of the decade. Joseph's goal, in his own words, was to “shine as much light into the darkness of the past as possible” to understand the nature of authoritarian politics, and he succeeds beyond my wildest expectations. This biography gives me a feel for Chinese politics that I honestly thought I'd never have. It does an incredible job of digging deep to shed light on some of the most consequential moments in CCP history, as well as conveying what it was like to live as a senior official under Mao and Deng. Reading it was a powerful experience at both an intellectual and human level. We get memorable vignettes, like 15-year-old Xi Zhongxun attempting to assassinate a teacher, or General Peng Dehuai using his shoe to silence Xi Zhongxun's snoring in their shared bunk. In this interview, we discuss: What we can learn about authoritarianism, the CCP, and China's future from studying Xi's father, Torigian's methodology for uncovering hidden Party history, How the Party became an existential source of meaning, and how it weaponized suffering to paradoxically deepen political loyalty, The arc of Xi Zhongxun's life — from a young revolutionary to key advocate of reform — and his role during Tiananmen, The interplay of family, love, and career under the all-encompassing shadow of the Party, The role of “Surrogate fathers” and patronage in navigating political ascent, How literature shaped China's early revolutionaries, and even impacted the Party as we know it today. Are you a born-again believer who happens to struggle with nightmares? Are you suddenly dealing with pervasive thoughts and nightmares that seemingly appeared out of nowhere? We all deal with thoughts, emotions, reactions, and yes, even nightmares, even though we have given our hearts to Jesus Christ. Many people are victims of SRA (satanic ritual abuse) and may or may not even know it or remember it. Others have at some point linked themselves to someone else with physical intimacy, and now carry remnants of that other person both emotionally and spiritually. AI will fundamentally transform science. It will supercharge the research process, making it faster and more efficient and broader in scope. It will make scientists themselves vastly more productive, more objective, maybe more creative. It will make many human participants—and probably some human scientists—obsolete… Or at least these are some of the claims we are hearing these days. There is no question that various AI tools could radically reshape how science is done, and how much science is done. What we stand to gain in all this is pretty clear. What we stand to lose is less obvious, but no less important. My guest today is Dr. Molly Crockett. Molly is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University. In a recent widely-discussed article, Molly and the anthropologist Dr. Lisa Messeri presented a framework for thinking about the different roles that are being imagined for AI in science. And they argue that, when we adopt AI in these ways, we become vulnerable to certain illusions. Here, Molly and I talk about four visions of AI in science that are currently circulating: AI as an Oracle, as a Surrogate, as a Quant, and as an Arbiter. We talk about the very real problems in the scientific process that AI promises to help us solve. We consider the ethics and challenges of using Large Language Models as experimental subjects. We talk about three illusions of understanding the crop up when we uncritically adopt AI into the research pipeline—an illusion that we understand more than we actually do; an illusion that we're covering a larger swath of a research space than we actually are; and the illusion that AI makes our work more objective. We also talk about how ideas from Science and Technology Studies (or STS) can help us make sense of this AI-driven transformation that, like it or no, is already upon us. Along the way Molly and I touch on: AI therapists and AI tutors, anthropomorphism, the culture and ideology of Silicon Valley, Amazon's Mechanical Turk, fMRI, objectivity, quantification, Molly's mid-career crisis, monocultures, and the squishy parts of human experience. Without further ado, on to my conversation with Dr. Molly Crockett. Enjoy! A transcript of this episode will be posted soon. Without a doubt, we all have wounds and scars from living in this world. However, some have endured trauma that causes their lives to be full of pain and heartache. It could easily look as if life is destined to be riddled with pain from our past or even our present. God never designed us to carry the weight of trauma throughout our lives. He has made a way through the power of the Holy Spirit and His Word to break free from pain. More often than not, emotional and spiritual deliverance is a process, and not always overnight. Fortunately, there are ways provided by our Heavenly Father to take us from sorrow and trauma to freedom in Him! Join in today as Tiffany Jo Baker speaks with Micaiah Gray as she opens up about her healing and deliverance story that includes being married and a mom at 18 and moving into a home where there is demonic activity.Favorite Quotes:"I started reading scripture more consistently, and I started moving forward." - Micaiah Gray"The Scripture is where the power is." - Micaiah Gray"Some of us just stop when we see the big gap between where we are and where we want or know we should be." -Tiffany Jo BakerFavorite Scripture:"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective, emphasizing the importance of a heart aligned with God's will for effective prayer." - James 5:16To learn more about Micaiah Gray and all the things she is up to, go here .*If you're looking for perfectly polished people or podcast, this isn't for you. I'm currently soaking up every moment of maternity leave, but I couldn't wait any longer to share the story of how our sweet Lila Madeline Lehman came into the world. And who better to join me than the incredible woman who carried her—our gestational carrier (and my sister-in-law!), Maddy. In this episode, Maddy and I relive Lila's birth story—from the days leading up to delivery after Trav and I arrived in the U.S., to the surprise of her being eight days overdue (!), to how labor and delivery unfolded, and everything that followed. It's an emotional, full-circle conversation now that we're on the other side and Lila is finally here. This episode gives me all the feels, and I'm so excited for you to listen… and selfishly, to have this as a keepsake that we'll treasure forever.----Instagram: @surrotalesEmail: surrotales@gmail.com
Do you ever find yourself battling anxiety in your everyday life? Does worry and anxiety cause you to move your focus off Jesus and onto your problems? We live in a world that is inundated with fear and stress. If we are not careful, we can forget what the Bible says about casting our cares on the Lord and end up fixated on the problems! One of the biggest traps of the enemy is to keep us locked up in our minds, scared, worried, and anxious, to keep us from fulfilling all that God has for us. Listen in as Tiffany Jo Baker speaks with Rachel Jobe about how she has learned to face anxiety biblically and walk in the freedom the Lord has provided.Listen in for:How focusing on problems will lead to anxietyWhen it is time to turn your thoughts towards JesusWhy walking in freedom can lead to helping othersWhere to go in the Bible for help with anxietyFavorite Quotes:"You can tell what your heart is making much of by paying attention to where your thoughts dwell." - Rachel Jobe" Worry is misplaced worship." - Rachel Jobe" Life without unnecessary anxiety is an abundant life." - Tiffany Jo BakerFavorite Scriptures:"Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me." - John 14:1"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7Find out more about Rachel Job's new book "One Thing I Ask" and all the things she is doing here: https://jimandrachel.org/If you're looking for perfectly polished people or podcast, this isn't for you. On today's episode, Ali talks to Whitney, a surrogate, and her husband, Geremi, about working with ConceiveAbilities, a leading egg donor and surrogacy agency. When people think about surrogacy, they often focus on the surrogate herself—but what about her partner? The truth is, a strong, supportive partner can make all the difference. Emotional strength, physical support, shared sacrifice—surrogacy is a team effort in every sense. Today, we're getting a behind-the-scenes look at what that partnership really looks like. Whitney, an experienced surrogate with ConceiveAbilities who delivered for her intended parents about a year and a half ago—and her husband, Geremi, who serves in the U.S. Air Force, talk about Whitney's decision to become a surrogate; building their own family (including a devastating miscarriage); what happened when they met the intended parents; surrogacy and military life; and much more. They also talk about how the experience transformed not just Whitney's life, but Geremi's too.Find out more about ConceiveAbilities on IG: https://www.instagram.com/conceiveabilities/For more information on surrogacy or becoming a surrogate click on this link:https://share.conceiveabilities.com/apratorafTOPICS COVERED IN THIS EPISODE: TTC; miscarriage; surrogacy; IVF; egg retrieval; surrogacy success; military lifeEPISODE SPONSORS: WORK OF ARTAli's Children's Book about IVF and Assisted Reproductive Technologyhttps://www.infertileafgroup.com/booksDo not miss Ali's children's book about IVF! In this episode, hosts Dr. Carrie Bedient from the Fertility Center of Las Vegas, Dr. Abby Eblen from Nashville Fertility Center, and Dr. Susan Hudson from Texas Fertility Center discuss the process of using a gestational carrier. They break down who might need a gestational carrier, the medical and legal aspects to consider, and how to navigate the journey from start to finish. The discussion also covers the difference between a traditional surrogate and a gestational carrier, explaining why modern surrogacy almost always involves a gestational carrier—someone who carries a pregnancy without a genetic connection to the baby. The docs also address common questions about choosing a carrier, working with an agency, and the emotional and financial aspects of the process. Whether you're considering surrogacy due to medical conditions, infertility, or other personal reasons, this episode provides valuable insights into how a gestational carrier can help individuals and couples grow their families.

The More Sibyl Podcast Presents: 서로를 품다| The MVPs of Suurugate Journeys: The One with a Surrogate | Episode 17 (2025)When most people think of pregnancy, they think baby names, nursery colors, and tiny clothes. For Ms. Idowu Grace Abosede, pregnancy was about giving someone else the chance to experience all of that.In this gripping episode, we unpack her deeply personal journey through surrogacy—one she had to navigate the hard way, using her own body as the lesson. That journey became the catalyst for founding Boblu'nd Gray Surrogacy Agency, where she now advocates for safe, ethical, and compassionate surrogacy in Nigeria.Ms. Idowu shares the emotional and physical toll of being a surrogate and exposes the wide gap in protections for surrogates in Nigeria. From financial mistreatment—being offered as little as ₦30,000/month for food (in this T-Pain economy?!)—to unnecessary, non-consensual C-sections, she names the exploitative practices of individuals and institutions alike. Her message is clear: Surrogacy is not a transaction. It's a relationship. One that requires empathy, informed consent, and long-term support.Whether you're a prospective surrogate, an intended parent, or a healthcare provider, this episode will challenge you to rethink everything you thought you knew about surrogacy. Listen now and be part of the conversation that centers care, dignity, and justice.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- On Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced “Liberation Day”—explaining that for decades the United States economy has been punished by onerous tariffs placed on American-made goods being exported internationally. Trump signed an executive order placing “reciprocal tariffs” on imported goods. The policy will take effect at midnight on April 5th. The reciprocal tariffs will be half of what trading partners are currently charging the U.S. A 10% universal baseline tariff will be applied to all countries considered to be acting in bad faith. Will the Trump Administration remove tariffs on countries that remove tariffs on American-made goods? Trump stated: “To all foreign presidents, prime ministers, kings, queens, ambassadors, and everyone else who will soon be calling to ask for exemptions to these tariffs, I say—terminate your own tariffs, drop your barriers, don't manipulate your currencies…and start buying tens of billions of dollars of American goods.” 3:15pm- In response to the Trump Administration's reciprocal tariff announcement, the S&P 500 fell 4.6%—with American companies Nvidia and Apple shedding a combined $470 billion in market value. However, the Trump Administration remains optimistic—with General Motors, for example, announcing an increase in domestic manufacturing. 3:30pm- David Gelman—Criminal Defense Attorney, Former Prosecutor, & a Surrogate for Donald Trump's Legal Team—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest editorial for The Hill, “Judges, stay in your lane and stay out of politics.” You can read the full article here: https://thehill.com/opinion/judiciary/5220817-federal-judges-political-influence/. 3:50pm- While appearing on Fox News, in response to the Trump Administration's tariffs to protect American manufacturing, Ford Chief Policy Officer Steve Croley announced that the automotive company will extend “employee pricing” to all customers through June 2nd. Weekday afternoons on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Rich Zeoli gives the expert analysis and humorous take that we need in this crazy political climate. Along with Executive Producer Matt DeSantis and Justin Otero, the Zeoli show is the next generation of talk radio and you can be a part of it weekday afternoons 3-7pm.

Rich thinks the comparison to Hamilton is a bit far-reaching—however, people claiming tariffs will lead to a modern “Great Depression” are also mistaken. Don't expect these tariffs to be around long enough to create economic devastation—they're a negotiating tactic. 4:30pm- Amie Parnes—Senior Political Correspondent at The Hill & New York Times Best Selling Author—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss her newly released book, “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House.” In the book, Parnes documents how aides to Kamala Harris were plotting behind the scenes to replace Joe Biden as the 2024 Democrat candidate even before he withdrew. Parnes notes that people close to Biden knew he had lost a step, but they didn't believe his disastrous June debate with Donald Trump would go as poorly as it ultimately did. Plus, Parnes reports Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi were advocating for a strategy to bypass Harris as the nominee—while Harris's proponents half-jokingly suggested, “at least she has a pulse.” Harris's team even had judges ready to swear her into office in the event President Biden died or resigned. And how did Harris ultimately decide to select Tim Walz as her running mate over Josh Shapiro? 5:00pm- Speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One, President Donald Trump downplayed fears of potential economic repercussions for his “reciprocal tariffs” on foreign nations. He noted that there are no tariffs on companies who choose to build their products in the United States. President Trump also discussed potentially extending TikTok's reprieve from a nationwide ban—and whether China may allow for the sale of the social media application in exchange for tariff relief. 5:40pm- Paula Scanlan—Former Swimmer for the University of Pennsylvania & Advocate for Women's Sports— ...
