Today on the Podcast, I'm interviewing a special client and friend, Kent Echols. Kent's spent his life learning lessons the hard way in his struggle to overcome the death of his mother at a young age, alcohol addiction that led to jail time, and divorce, but he has gained so much compassion, grit, grace, resilience, and faith in his journey! His motto is “Serve to love and love to serve.” He is one of my favorite people; you will see why in this interview! Kent has used his life experience as an overcomer to mentor and coach others to turn to the Lord to get through hard times. His role involves guiding his clients in ways that will show them the possibilities in life. He applies his motto, “Serve to love and love to serve,” as he listens with love and compassion while walking through his clients' journey with them. Many people carry the weight of their past, which affects their ability to connect with themselves and others. This can impact relationships, self-worth, and purpose. He helps his clients confront and heal past wounds to thrive in all areas of their lives. What happens when those closest to alleged criminals turn a blind eye—or worse, actively help keep their secrets hidden? In this episode, Tony Brueski and Defense Attorney Bob Motta take a closer look at a complex web of potential deals, compromises, and accusations as the Feds gather everyone they can in an effort to take down a central figure. The discussion unearths the tangled loyalties and convenient “willful ignorance” that seem to have allowed certain powerful individuals to operate in the shadows for far too long. Is it possible that those around the alleged kingpin didn't know anything, or were they just too comfortable to care? And what does justice look like for those who knowingly or unknowingly contributed to the chaos? #TrueCrime #LegalDrama #FederalCases #HiddenKillers #DarkSecrets #CrimeFamilies #JusticeSystem Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
This week hosts Tiffany Cross, Angela Rye, and Andrew Gillum cut through the media fog around Brett Favre's testimony to Congress. No, he was not summoned to Congress to testify about his Parkinson's diagnosis, as the headlines might have you believe (we wish him the best). In fact, he was there to explain his alleged misuse of welfare funds. While Mississippi failed to provide TANF benefits (AKA welfare) to its poorest residents, Favre managed to receive funding for speeches, volleyball stadium, and a startup from the same pool of funding. While he has yet to be punished, the woman who broke the story is facing JAIL TIME! In even more somber news, the hosts reflect on the state-sponsored lynching of inmate Marcellus Williams. In the lead up to his execution, the victim's family members, the non-profit group The Innocence Project, and even local prosecutors pleaded for a stay of execution, but the state of Missouri killed him anyway. This is America y'all, our hearts go out to the families. Check out The Innocence Project at innocenceproject.org and help them in their mission to prevent wrongful convictions. And we close the show with a heated discussion sparked by Whoopi Goldberg's defense of Janet Jackson, after she made false comments about Kamala Harris's ethnicity. Should celebrities be commenting on current events, and how do they do so responsibly? Our hosts offer differing opinions. And of course we'll hear from you, our #NLPFam listeners.
