The Floresville Lions Club initiated its 80th anniversary year with an annual awards and installation banquet June 27 at Jack's Café in Floresville. Lions International Past District Governor Sam Pantusa was the guest speaker for the evening. During his remarks before inducting new members, Lion Pantusa reminisced on what 80 years looked like to the club and the community served. Honoring Lion Vernor Bippert for his 60 years of service was a highlight of the evening.
