POPULARITY
It comes from the root word viśeṣa, which means specific or special. It's a name of Kṛṣṇa, indicating that His creation is unique in every aspect, and that means that there's no one particle that's the same as another. There's no one relationship that Kṛṣṇa has, as Brahmā mentions in his prayers, in the 14th chapter, of the 10th Canto, that it's multifaceted, or unlimitedly faceted, his relationships with living beings—they're all unique. So it means "unique Kṛṣṇa's unique nature and His unique creation." It's also a name of Lord Balarāma, found in the Balarāma-sahasranāma, where it says He is the knower of Vaiśeṣika philosophy. And it's also an atheistic philosophy by Kaṇāda. In that philosophy, the word viśeṣa, or the root word viśeṣa, indicates his philosophy of how the universe works—their unique particles that, as I alluded to before, they have different properties, and when they mix in the combinations and permutations, they form, the different forms in the world appear from that process. And if you consider my name to be Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, and I would serve those who are illusioned by that philosophy by giving them Prabhupāda's books, that's a service that I would like to offer to the Vaiśeṣikas. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
We have to take strength from Lord Balarāma. Part of the spiritual strength is to have the enthusiasm and the remembrance, which perhaps precedes the enthusiasm, to take our beads every day and make a valiant effort against the strong waves of māyā to fully take the names of Kṛṣṇa.And one other point is that it's not insignificant if we give our attention to the chanting. In the story of Balarāma killing Dhenukāsura and Kṛṣṇa killing all the other āsura demons, after this pastime in the Bhāgavatam, Kṛṣṇa, Balarāma, and all their friends and cows are entering back into the Vṛndāvana village. And it's noted there that the gopīs are watching them come into the city. And their eyes are all on Kṛṣṇa like bees going to a flower. But the description there is that Kṛṣṇa accepted their glance as an offering, and they were saying, were the gopīs, when they glanced at him, shyly, albeit very shyly, they glanced at him, that "this is all we have to offer. We don't have anything else in our home, and we can't go anywhere. We're restricted, but what we have is our glance that we can offer you." And so Kṛṣṇa took that as the greatest offering that they wanted. They wanted to look at him, and he reciprocated by giving his glance back. And what's in Kṛṣṇa's glance? Everything. So in japa, we have the same opportunity that the residents of Vṛndāvana had. It's a Vṛndāvana pastime, actually, chanting Kṛṣṇa's names. "Rāma, Rāma, Mahābāho," the cowherd boys chant it. And so when we chant japa, if we give our glance to the holy name, that's the best offering, and Kṛṣṇa will glance back at us. And that's where our spiritual strength comes from. It's when there's a reciprocation as we give ourselves to the holy name, and then Kṛṣṇa again reciprocates with us. And then we'll feel that, yes, now I'm in the flow of the spiritual energy, and we'll know it for ourselves. Nobody has to come in and give us a certificate. The way one resides in Vṛndāvan or in Rādhā-kuṇḍa isn't necessarily just to move in, and I'll stop with this point, but it means that, we should be careful. Caitanya Mahāprabhu said that you should live in Vṛndāvan always; if you can't be there physically, then you should live there within your mind and heart. So if you're living here, you can cultivate that mood. It does help to go to Vṛndāvan during our lifetimes if we could make the pilgrimage to Vṛndāvan, as suggested by Prahlāda Mahārāja in today's verse 'vanaṁ gato yad dharim āśrayeta'. You should try to go there and take shelter. My personal experience is going to the dhāma and spending time there means that you develop a relationship with it because the dhāma is non-different from Kṛṣṇa. If you go there and serve the dhāma and you hear in the dhāma, then you start to develop an affection for the dhāma and you think, "Let me be in the dhāma." And then, you can think of the dhāma, and that was Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu's recommendation or order that 'Live in Vṛndāvan', but it means live there within your heart. Some people move to Vṛndāvan, and they're thinking, "I wish I was in Delhi because I could watch a video right now. I won't do it in Vṛndāvan, but maybe I'll go to Delhi and watch a video and come back." And somebody might be in Delhi, or the middle of France for that matter, and be pining for Vṛndāvan and think, "I wish I was in Vṛndāvan and I'm not qualified," and therefore they're feeling separation for the dhāma. They're more in Vṛndāvan than someone who maybe has moved into Vṛndāvan and then, became entangled in, mundane thoughts and so forth. Therefore, as we'll discuss later from some of Prabhupāda's purports and instructions, when we approach the dhāma, we should be very careful. Prabhupāda once said you can stay there three days or three years. Three days means you go there very carefully and offer obeisances to Kṛṣṇa Balarāma and be in some of the Kirtans and so forth. Three days, so you don't make any offense and then go or three years if you have service. When we go to the dhāma, main point is you should have some service there if you're going to stay a long period of time. Because often times people go to the dhāma and think I'll hear and chant 24 hours a day, and then they get there and khrh..And you find out, yeah, you still got to find out where to eat, right, because you are hungry, right? And then it's like you're in the food line: "Do you have a plate? I don't have a plate. You need a spoon." All the other types of things well up in one's life, and it becomes a situation where one might become a desperado in the dhāma, and that's also not ideal. So we have to cultivate the relationship with the dhāma very carefully, and one can do so from here in France, being in this dhāma but cultivating knowledge of the dhāma through hearing and chanting, but also visiting. In today's sanga, we join Srila Dhanurdhara Swami at a home program in Russia and then he continues with the Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta. Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta Part 1 Chapter 7 Text 67 tato hrīṇa iva jyeṣṭha- mukhaṁ paśyan smitaṁ śritaḥ rāmeṇodvartya tatrābdhau snāpito dhūli-dhūsaraḥ TRANSLATION Kṛṣṇa then looked at His brother's face and smiled as if embarrassed. And since Kṛṣṇa's body was covered with dust, Balarāma wiped Him clean and bathed Him in the sea.
Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta Part 1 Chapter 7 Text 11 sva-sthānaṁ bhejire sarve catur-vaktreṇa bodhitāḥ saṁjñām ivāpto rāmas tu nīyamāno garutmatā TRANSLATION Advised by Brahmā, everyone else went back home. Meanwhile, as Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma were being carried by Garuḍa, Balarāma more or less regained consciousness.

Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta Part 1 Chapter 6 Texts 70-72 tataḥ padmāvatī rājya- dāna-bhītā vimūḍha-dhīḥ mahiṣī yadu-rājasya vṛddhā mātāmahī prabhoḥ apy uktāśravaṇāt pūrvaṁ rāma-mātrāvahelitā sva-bhartū rakṣituṁ rājyaṁ cāturyāt parihāsa-vat vyāhāra-paripāṭyānya- cittatāpādanena tam yadu-vaṁśyaika-śaraṇaṁ vidhātuṁ svastham abravīt TRANSLATION Then, fearing that the kingdom was about to be given away, old Padmāvatī, the Lord's grandmother, the queen of the Yadu king Ugrasena, gathered her muddled wits and cleverly feigned a joking spirit. To protect her husband's domain, she spoke up again, even though Balarāma's mother had snubbed her by ignoring her previous remarks. Invoking eloquence, Padmāvatī tried to change the mood, to bring Kṛṣṇa, the exclusive shelter of the Yadu dynasty, back to normal.

One should take shelter of Kṛṣṇa-Balarāma, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, whose protective power is so great that it cannot be equaled in the material world. However powerful the reactions of one's sins, they will immediately be vanquished if one chants the name of Hari, Kṛṣṇa, Balarāma or Nārāyaṇa.
Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead Chapter 46 – Uddhava Visits Vṛndāvana Nanda Mahārāja returned to Vṛndāvana without Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma. He was accompanied only by the cowherd boys and men. Here, Śrī Jīva takes up the task of reconciling similar conflicting statements found in other Purāṇas. Among such descriptions, the most prominent are those that depict Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma as avatāras of the black and white hairs of Viṣṇu. This notion is found not only in Mahābhārata (Ādi-parva 197.32–33), but also in Viṣṇu Purāṇa (5.1.59), Nṛsiṁha Purāṇa (53.32), and even the Bhāgavata Purāṇa (2.7.26) itself. If, however, one carefully examines the complete narration presented in these Purāṇas, one will recognize that such a conclusion is simply without cogency. The story behind the keśa (hair) avatāra is that when the Earth Goddess felt overburdened by the proliferation of unrighteous kings, she approached the host of devas headed by Brahmā. Hearing her plea, Brahmā advised the devas to accompany him to the Milk Ocean to supplicate Bhagavān Viṣṇu. Being pleased with their prayers, Śrī Viṣṇu appeared to Brahmā. In response to the report of the Earth's plight, He plucked out two hairs from His head and announced that these hairs would descend to the earth and rid her of this burden.

These are some of the reasons why Balarāma is known as Saṅkarṣaṇa, Balarāma or sometimes Rāma. In the mahā-mantra — Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare — people sometimes object when Rāma is accepted as Balarāma. But although devotees of Lord Rāma may object, they should know that there is no difference between Balarāma and Lord Rāma.
Festival con grupos nacionales a go-go (Los Planetas, Love of Lesbian, La Habitación Roja).
