Cincinnati Bengals offense coordinator Brian Callahan returns to In the Trenches with Dave Lapham brought to you by First Star Logistics. Coach Callahan highlights some of the Bengal's offense weapons heading into the 2023 training camp. Today's episode was recorded the day before Joe Burrow went down with a calf strain at practice so Dave and coach Callahan don't talk about Joe and his injury. Coach has said to the media since the injury that they aren't worried about Joe missing any game time but are disappointed that Joe had another setback during training camp. The Bengals signed QB Reid Sinnett to fill in the third QB spot for camp. It will be interesting to see the timeline on Joe Burrow's injury and if the Bengals go after a more experienced QB if Joe does have to miss some of the regular season. We finish our conversation with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan as the Bengals have finished OTAs and minicamp with the start of the 2023 season just weeks away as Joe Burrow will look to lead the Bengals to another AFC North Championship and a deep run in the playoffs with a Super Bowl win the ultimate goal. Callahan knows success starts and ends with Joe Burrow but is confident the Bengals roster has a mastery of the coaches system on both sides of the ball. Bengals Offensive Coordinator Brian Callahan joins In the Trenches with Dave Lapham on today's episode brought to you by First Star Logistics. Coach Callahan talks about the Bengals recent free agents signings and how they will put this Bengals offense over the top in 2023. Orlando Brown Jr is obviously the biggest addition to this Bengals offense literally and figuratively. The 4x pro bowler should bolster this offensive line to heights in 2023, finally getting Joe Burrow his elite blindside pass-blocker. Now the only question on the offensive line is the right tackle position which Lapham and Coach Callahan address in their interview today. Another important piece to this offense is the tight end position. Last year Hayden Hurst was a huge surprise and quickly made a major impact in the passing game last season for the Bengals. Hurst played so well that he banked in on a 3-year deal in Carolina so Bengals reloaded again on a free-agent tight end in Irv Smith Jr. Smith was a high draft pick for the Vikings but never really found his footing in Minnesota and dealt with multiple injuries. He has a lot of the same upside Hurst did last season so the Bengals will look to replicate that same production and add to it by looking for a tight end in the NFL Draft.

Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan has been a frequent guest all season long on In The Trenches with Dave Lapham presented by First Star Logistics. In this episode, Coach Callahan talks about the Bengals successful season that led them to an AFC Championship and Super Bowl LVI, along with going from a team hunting down the tough competition in the AFC North to becoming the hunted in the division and the conference. Also discussed during our conversation, the team's young offensive star power, keeping the offensive coaching staff together and the upcoming free-agent period, and the NFL Draft.
With QB1 Joe Burrow at the helm of the Cincinnati Bengals offense, offensive coordinator Brian Callahan knows there is a good chance the Bengals offense will be in a position to make the plays needed to stay within striking distance of winning. Coming off a major road win over the Denver Broncos has the Bengals sitting at the top of the AFC North race with the always tough Baltimore Ravens heading to Paul Brown Stadium creating another major challenge for the Bengals to achieve their goal of winning the division and making the playoffs. The first time the Ravens and Bengals battled this season the offense saw Burrow throw for 416-yards and three touchdowns while Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine combined for 111-yards and two touchdowns. But it was the breakout performance from rookie Ja'Marr Chase who posted eight receptions for 201-yards and a score to go with standout performances from C.J. Uzomah and Tee Higgins. Callahan returns to In The Trenches with Dave Lapham presented by First Star Logistics to take a quick look back at the win over the Broncos and the first look at the second-round with the Ravens.
