Speaking with Ken Peel on Wake Up Tri-Counties, Williams said his involvement in local CO₂ project discussions helped shape his decision, emphasizing the need for residents to stay informed and heard. Williams says his campaign will focus on transparency, community engagement, and preserving Galva's small-town character. Williams plans to connect with residents through Facebook, at his automotive shop in Galva (Williams Collision and Restoration, 215 SE 8th Avenue), and eventually through a dedicated campaign page. He pointed to his involvement in local discussions surrounding the CO₂ project as part of what motivated him to seek office. Williams says residents deserve clear information, including data on air quality and the potential impact of carbon sequestration tied to ethanol production. Police Commissioner Richard Chambers says he only learned of Rakesh Naidoo's candidacy on Sunday afternoon, and his position is now untenable. Labour claims Naidoo took all the appropriate steps.
