NanoViricides CEO Dr Anil Diwan joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share exciting updates on their antiviral drug candidate, NV 387, in a recent interview. The drug, developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrated exceptional safety in clinical trials, even at the highest dose levels, with no adverse events reported. The unique mechanism of action involves mimicking a cell membrane, encapsulating and blocking the virus. The clinical trials involved both oral tablets and oral gummies, catering to various age groups, including pediatrics. NV 387 exhibited broad-spectrum activity against multiple strains of coronaviruses, showcasing effectiveness 10 times greater than remdesivir in preclinical studies. Beyond COVID-19, the drug also displayed promising results against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), offering a potential solution for infants and seniors where existing treatments like ribavirin may be contraindicated due to side effects. Dr. Diwan highlighted the drug's versatility, suggesting applications against other respiratory viruses and even biodefense-related infections like smallpox. The ongoing clinical trial progress and positive results position NanoViricides at the forefront of antiviral drug development, marking a significant milestone in their journey from preclinical research since 2005 to clinical trials. #proactiveinvestors #nanoviricidesinc #nyseamerican #nnvc #biotec#invest #investing #investment #investor #AntiviralDrug #ClinicalTrials #COVID19 #InnovationInHealthcare #MedicalBreakthrough #VirusProtection #HealthTech #Pharmaceuticals #Biotech #RSVTreatment #DrugDevelopment #BioDefense #SmallpoxTherapy #MedicalResearch #PublicHealth #ScienceAdvancements #ViralInfections #HealthcareRevolution #PandemicResponse #ResearchandDevelopment #DrugSafety #HealthScience #FutureMedicine #MedicalDiscovery #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

The COVID-19 crisis effects on work-life culture has been vast, from the ways we interact with one another to the hybrid work environment that has become synonymous with the pandemic. For feds, hybrid is the new normal, which has had a major impact on businesses. In D.C., the federal government accounts for a quarter of pre-pandemic jobs and owns or leases one-third of D.C's office space, which doesn't just affect public servants, but also downtown businesses. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser recently called on the Biden administration to get feds back into offices or change its relationship with property in downtown D.C. On Wednesday's podcast, GovExec Daily's Adam Butler and Ross Gianfortune analyzed the telework situation in D.C. for public servants, businesses and everyone else. *** Follow GovExec on Twitter! https://twitter.com/govexec

COVID-19 vaccines have been effective in saving lives but as winter approaches and yet another coronavirus surge is expected, public health leaders face growing skepticism and apathy toward the vaccines. Worse yet, it seems that the politicized backlash against COVID-19 vaccinations is fostering skepticism about routine vaccinations -- in general -- from childhood immunizations to flu shots. More than 80 anti-vaccine bills have been introduced in state legislatures. While vaccine skepticism remains a minority position in the U.S., the general consensus on vaccine importance and value is not quite as strong as it once was. Among the highlights in this episode: 0:57: Listener comment 1:33: While flu activity remains low overall, there are increases in certain parts of the country, specifically the Southeast and South-central regions according to the CDC's first FluView report of the season 2:39: The FDA announced on October 12 that children as young as five are now eligible to receive the bivalent booster 2:59: October 20 marks World Osteoporosis Day, a reminder it's a good time to advocate for yourself and to be proactive about your health and your family's health, so bring up bone health with your doctor 3:18: Zoe Rothblatt, Associate Director of Community Outreach at GHLF, lists fast facts about osteoporosis 4:22: “Anti-vaccine sentiment is higher now than it was even before the pandemic began. There's some irony in that. We dealt with a global pandemic, and it was vaccines and scientific development generally that are helping get us out of this pandemic and moving into a safer phase. And yet vaccine skepticism is higher than it's ever been,” says Steven Newmark, Director of Policy at GHLF 4:45: Why did vaccine skepticism increase and how can we counter this trend? 6:06: 80 anti-vaccine bills have been introduced in state legislatures around the country 7:01: Childhood vaccination rates fell during the 2020-2021 school year, equating to 35,000 kids not being up to date on their shots 7:37: “Fewer Americans said this year… that they'll get their flu shot, compared to the few years before,” says Zoe Rothblatt 9:42: A culture of distrust in government has developed over the last three decades and some social media platforms and media outlets thrive on constantly criticizing information coming from government sources, including from neutral sources like the CDC 10:55: “I saw some data that showed if 80 percent of eligible Americans got [the] latest COVID boosters, as many as 90,000 lives could be saved,” says Zoe Rothblatt 12:30: What our hosts learned from this episode Contact Our Hosts Steven Newmark, Director of Policy at GHLF: snewmark@ghlf.org Zoe Rothblatt, Associate Director, Community Outreach at GHLF: zrothblatt@ghlf.org We want to hear what you think. As we have been saying for 3 months, COVID-19 is running out of steam and the narrative continues to collapse day by day. Even the most ardent supporters of restrictions, mandates, and suppression of freedom are beginning to pivot. While there will be plenty of mental health damage as this comes to an end, don't look at this win of a battle as winning the war on our culture, our faith, our children, and our freedom. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bob-biermann/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bob-biermann/support
Think back to when this all started, March of 2020 when the world basically shut down. We were told we all had to stay home to both flatten the curve and save lives. Well, new analysis from Johns Hopkins University found that all those lockdowns had very little impact on saving lives in both the U-S and Europe. With the worst of omicron seemingly behind us as cases continue to drop, many doctors are now saying it's time to start easing COVID restrictions--and that includes taking off our masks. Roland and his siblings lost their Mom to Covid 19 in early 2020. Unable to be with her at the hospital or to even understand what she was going through, they had to navigate their grief amidst a global pandemic when all they could do was sit at home. A short 5 months later their Dad passed away unexpectedly from a heart issue. Over a year later, they have still not been able to bury their Mom because she passed away in the Philippines and they have not been able to travel there. New to psychic mediumship and someone who doesn't consider himself a spiritual person, Roland came into the reading with an open mind and curious heart.

In this episode of the McKinsey Global Institute's Forward Thinking podcast, co-host Janet Bush speaks with distinguished economist Michael Spence. He is professor of economics and dean emeritus at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford, senior professor at SDA Bocconi, and Nobel laureate in Economic Sciences, 2001. Spence reflects on some of the major shifts and challenges ahead, from rolling out vaccine programs in lower-income economies to tackling climate change. He answers questions like: ● Is the current fragility in supply chains a sign that something more fundamental is happening that could affect the course of globalization? ● Will new ways of working that emerged during the pandemic persist and, if so, what are the broader economic implications? ● Are you even more worried about rising inequality now than before the pandemic? ● Are you optimistic or pessimistic about COP26, the UN Climate Change Conference? ● Can you see a silver lining to this pandemic? This conversation was recorded in September 2021.
