EP 245: If the Bible has ever felt confusing or overwhelming, Zach Windahl is here to help you see it clearly! This week on Revival Town Podcast, we're joined by author, content creator, and faith encourager Zach Windahl, founder of The Brand Sunday and author of the upcoming book The Bible, Simplified (releasing July 1, 2025).Zach's mission is clear—help people grow in their faith and feel less overwhelmed by the Bible. In this conversation, he shares the heart behind his positivity, the journey of launching The Brand Sunday, and why making faith approachable is more important than ever. We dive into practical ways to engage with Scripture, common misconceptions people carry about the Bible, and how doubt has played a surprising role in Zach's spiritual growth.Whether you've struggled to understand the Bible or are looking to deepen your faith, this episode will encourage you to see God's Word in a fresh, accessible way.
Zach Windahl grew up going to church, but it wasn’t until a low point in 2014—when he seriously questioned if Christianity was even for him—that his faith became real. He packed up and moved to Australia for an intensive Bible study, spending 12 hours a day, six days a week in Scripture. Within a week, everything changed. That transformation sparked a calling: help people actually understand the Bible. Zach launched The Brand Sunday, which went on to become one of the fastest-growing brands in the country. Now, with The Bible Simplified, he’s making the storyline of the Bible clear, accessible, and deeply relevant—no fluff, no pressure, just real truth for real life. His mission? To meet people where they are, simplify faith, and show that the Bible isn’t just for scholars—it’s for everyone.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Meet Zach Windahl--a successful entrepreneur, author, husband, friend and a really great guy. Zach's life is an inspiration to everyone he meets. I loved our conversation, his insights, perspective and simple advice for all of us to have a more fulfilling, peaceful, and joy-filled life. I've read his new book twice and bought it for my family members. You can learn more about Zach on his website, ZachWindahl.com. Here are a few highlights of his story, in Zach's own words:Perspective changes everything"My outlook on life wasn't always to “see the good.” Through two defining moments in my life I learned how to experience positivity, joy and live every day to the fullest. The first was when my mom, a 4-stage cancer survivor, was given a 5% chance to live. The second was in 2014 when I hit a low spot in my life and moved to Australia with the mindset of “God, if you're real, prove it.” I dove straight into an intensive program where we studied the Bible. God used those moments to rewire my thinking. This experience led me to growth and the hope of helping others find love and understanding in pursuing God's word.I've also written several books:The Bible StudyThe Bible Study for YouthThe Bible Study for KidsThe Best Season PlannerLaunch with GodSee the GoodIn 2022 our Brand Sunday company received recognition as the:#63 Fastest growing business in America#3 fastest growing business in Minnesota#4 fastest growing consumer product in AmericaEnd of Zach's quote. If someone could have a Christian product as the #4 fastest growing consumer product in America, I think there's hope for the world. Launch Your Business with God Zach Windahl pt 1 Have you ever felt that everything you touched did not turn to gold? But instead, just went from good to bad to worse? Everything. Everything you believed in. Everything you tried to do? My guest today faced that very dilemma. In 2014, Zach Windahl went from bad to worse. He always had a plan, until that time. He was broken. He was lost. He started to contemplate everything he had believed in. He had grown up as a Christian, but things were so bad, he realized he had no idea what that meant. He started to look at religion in a very different light. He stated to look at Christianity in America. He realized that every single religion OUTSIDE of Christianity, took their faith seriously. But in the United States, Christians rarely read their Bibles and the ideals that are labeled as “Christian” can be very skewed from one faith to another. This started Zach on a mission. He decided to read the Bible straight through. Not in in a year, but in 90 days. He wanted to seek the TRUTH. And he understood that God's Word is the Truth. So, he set out seek THE TRUTH. Long story short, he came to some magnificent revelations. The first one occurred in – Genesis Chapter one! Praise God! Zach Windahl has helped thousands of people better understand the Bible and grow closer to God through his company, “The Brand Sunday.” He's the author of several books, including “The Bible Study” and his recent book, https://amzn.to/3ks2tTR (“Launch with God – How to Build a Business That Matters and Live Out Your God-Given Purpose”) When you seen in the Bible that God “creates,” what did that mean for you? Explain how you came to the understanding that God's story continues even to today… How does someone find themselves in God's Story, as you share in your book? How can we, as you put it, “lean into our talents?” One of the things you've discovered older folks, myself included, wish they could've done more of is to have spent more time with their family, and, instead of working at a job for someone else, they wished they would've pursued their dreams. How did that impact you and what you are doing now? Because of time, I want to jump towards the end of your book. Especially about “Building a Team.” Because of my leadership training the military, I have spoken at several business conferences on the topic of “Team Building.” So this section absolutely caught my attention… You state, “In general, if you're great at something in business, stick with it. If you're good at it, do it until you can afford to pay someone else to do it. And if you're bad at it, hire someone to do it now.” I absolutely agree, but I also get asked, when I say this, “But I can't afford to hire anybody, so I have to just try and get it done as best I can right now…” What do you say about that type of comment? How can someone just starting out find help? One chapter in your book, https://amzn.to/3ks2tTR (“Launch with God,”) you share about “Removing Obstacles.” What do you see as the biggest obstacle that faces most of us down? I had to laugh, again, when I read the part about running a business, being an entrepreneur, is not a sprint – it's not even a marathon! You called it an “ultra-marathon!” Can you explain that for our listeners? Who is Justin Zoradi and how did he influence you? When we seek advice about or dream, about our business, whom should we seek advice from and who should be avoid? Zach, we are about out of time. Where can someone get a copy of your book, https://amzn.to/3ks2tTR (“Launch with God”)? Is it on Amazon? If someone wants to get in touch with you, to ask a question or maybe do an interview like this, how can they do that? How can they get in touch with you? Folks, I cannot recommend this book, “Launch with God,” by Zach Windahl more highly. This book is for people who feel their God-given purpose is in entrepreneurship. The first part of your book discusses “Partnering with God.” Many ministries discuss “partner with this ministry” and they are referring to financial support. But that is not what is meant by “Partnering with God.” Correct? In your book that “there is no secular job.” Can you share what you mean by that statement? I had to laugh when you talked about “not everybody is called to be a pastor.” That is what most Bible schools focus on. That is what most people called to ministry believe. “If I'm called to ministry I must be a pastor, open a church, etc. etc.” In fact, I thought the same thing. I figured I'd be an evangelist and travel to various towns and hold meetings. I rented out rooms at hotels and at a few theatres, etc. And the people stayed away by the thousands! At one event, I had a whopping 7 people in a 500 seat auditorium. And it still took me 10 years to discover my true calling – which is what I do now, because of this same misconception. But you say, “If your called to be an entrepreneur, it's not be a secular entrepreneur but it means you have to make entrepreneurship spiritual.” Can you explain that for us? You had a revelation of sorts just in Genesis chapter one. Can you explain what your life was like at that point and then what happened as you read Genesis Chapter One? When you seen in the Bible that God “creates,” what did that mean for you? Explain how you came to the understanding that God's story continues even to today… How does someone find themselves in God's Story, as you share in your book?
