Kierre Bjorn Lindsay and Karen Grant - On Sunday, August 31st our community took some intentional time to pray for the start of the school year.  This is a two-fold community prayer that begins with praying over students of every age and stage as they begin their studies.  It concludes with an intentional prayer over all educators, administrators and other support staff within the education system as they enter into a new year of teaching, leading and supporting. We had the opportunity to welcome back our friend, Kierre Bjorn Lindsay, as he led us this weekend. Kierre is the Central Worship Pastor at Celebration Church and a singer-songwriter who has worked with Common Hymnal, Housefires, Maverick City Music, and more.

But the Apostles had a different message!"It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God."Acts 14:22 (HCSB)“If you find it easy to be a Christian, you probably aren't one.”Matt WalshWe hope you enjoy this weekend's Bible study, “Blessing and Testing”.

Therefore He said: "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, 'Do business till I come.'Luke 19:11-14The genius of Jesus is on full display in this parable, where He (1) corrects false conceptions about the coming of the Kingdom, (2) makes the case that God's economy is capitalist not socialist, and (3) warns of the fearful judgment that will fall upon the lazy and the fearful. And doesn't this all this sound like a much-needed message for the modern American church? We hope you enjoy our study on the “Mysteries of the Kingdom of God” in... “The Parable of the Ten Minas”

But this honest, accurate commentary from 17th century Bible scholar Matthew Henry proves this was not always the case.“This parable plainly sets forth the sin and ruin of the Jewish nation; they and their leaders were the wicked vinedressers; and the judgment spoken against them is a caution to all that enjoy the privileges of the visible church, not to be high-minded, but fear.”Matthew Henry (1662-1714)We hope you enjoy Pastor Ray's provocative message on “The Parable of the Wicked Vinedressers”.

But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?'Matthew 13:24-27Why does God allow evil to continue in the world? How long must we endure this dreadful co-mingling of good and evil, right and wrong, ‘wheat' and ‘tares'? Jesus gave us the answers. We hope you can be with us this weekend as Pastor Ray continues his teaching on “The Kingdom Parables” with a message that reveals the mystery of “The Wheat and the Tares”.
