Coach Robb Beams and I talked about the week that was. I tested a 1986 KX 250, Damon Bradshaw took a big one and we discussed Aaron Plessinger's future. As we grow, reviews and feedback are extremely important. Any reviews would be greatly appreciated.

Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s Jordon Smith made some unforced errors in Dallas that cost him several crucial points and gave Austin Forkner even more momentum going into Detroit this weekend. NBC Sports’ Ricky Carmichael has been settling into his new gig nicely calling the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross from the booth this year. We will get his off-camera perspective on the awesome racing and the quickly approaching 10th Annual Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross at the Daytona International Speedway. Hard to believe it has been 10 years already, but we’re stoked to have been a part of this awesome event since its inception. Check out www.RaceDaytona.com for more information and we hope to see you there! Monster Energy Pro Circuit’s Austin Forkner had a far too exciting day leading up to the 250SX East opener in Minneapolis last weekend but won convincingly with the holeshot and leading every lap. Austin is always an entertaining interview and we look forward to his take on the racing and everything else in his crazy world. Jeff “6-Time” Stanton has been surviving the Michigan winter as only the “Rocky” of motocross would by keeping his regular fitness and farm schedule regardless of the insanely cold conditions. We hope he thaws out a little when he heads to Daytona while racing multiple classes in the newly added Daytona Vintage Supercross at Ricky’s race this year. There are few guests that bring as much joy on the show as Monster Energy/Star Racing/ Yamaha’s Wil Hahn. He’s truly one of the raddest, big-hearted people in our sport. We always enjoy catching up and he has lots to say about their early Yamaha success in the 250SX so far this season. Will Posey is just over a year removed from his motocross injury that resulted in spinal damage and paralysis. That makes his 2nd place to the legend Doug Henry at the X-Games Para Snow BikeCross last week even that more impressive. Will has deep roots in the sport behind the camera with our Wes Williams, too. We will hear about his inspirational story and his next challenge tonight. We’ve known Steve for almost two decades and he was very supportive in getting DMXS off the ground when we launched this thing back in the day. DMXS has been fortunate enough to announce Red Bull’s Straight Rhythm every year and thoroughly enjoyed the two-stroke-only revolution last weekend. We just had to get Dream Traxx’s Jason Baker on to hear about his amazing track creation that perfectly tested both classes and made for the best racing we’ve seen in quite some time. He’s basically the Elon Musk of track building and one of the most genuine guys you’ll ever meet. We look forward to catching up and bench racing tonight. We’ve known Red Bull’s Jeremy Malott for what seems like our entire lives. He’s a great friend and his Straight Rhythm concept is but one example of his creative desire to push our sport forward and out of its comfort zone. We’ll get his thoughts on his two-stroke masterpiece and where we need to go from here. Cole Seely is officially back on a damn dirt bike! That was not a given after some serious consideration and soul-searching after his latest severe injury. We’re pumped for our friend and are glad to welcome him back on under better circumstances. Austin Forkner didn’t have the outdoor season he wanted after a rollercoaster summer, but we know he is full of fire and will learn from it and come out swinging. We dig his personality on and off the track and always enjoy catching up. Racer X’s Wheels will be on to discuss The Smagical Benefit Ride Day coming up next weekend at Sweeney’s MX Playground. Jimmy “The Rippaa” Decotis has been battling back into racing shape after a Lyme disease diagnosis has been hampering his results for some time now. We will get the latest on his recovery and comeback from the Peabody, Mass native himself. We always enjoy when David Pingree has some time to enlighten the world on everything Ping. Buckle up and check your feelings at the door. Wes Williams recently moved back to Georgia and we’re stoked he will be joining us in the studio when he’s not traveling the world shooting video. Grant Langston has a front row seat to all the action this summer and we’ll get his thoughts as the outdoors are winding down and ready to crown two new champions. Ryan Sipes can truly can anything on a dirt bike, including showing up and winning a TT race! We’re very proud to have Ryan representing DMXS at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm’s Media Challenge and will discuss of that and more tonight. We’ve known Jason Weigandt for almost twenty years but didn’t know the extent of his uselessness around the house with DIY projects until Kevin came across this nugget of info at Loretta Lynn’s last week. Jason will try to explain how he’s gotten so far in life without these critical manly skills. Wes Williams is living back in Georgia and we are stoked to have him hang with us in the studio whenever he’s not traveling. It was so cool to see Wes back filming at Loretta’s and brought back some great memories to the DMXS/VURB days when the world was truly the best. Team Honda HRC’s Ken Roczen silenced all the doubters after his latest injury seemed like even too much for the iron-willed German to overcome, but Kenny is back with a vengeance and has been battling up front since his return. We’ll hear all about that journey back tonight. Monster Energy Yamaha’s Cooper Webb made his long-awaited return at Southwick after a gnarly leg injury had him sidelined since supercross. We always enjoy having our southern neighbor on the show and look forward to catching up tonight. GEICO Honda’s RJ Hampshire has recorded some solid moto results this summer but is still looking for the consistency for that overall that shows all the hard work they’re putting in during the week. It’s been too long since we last had RJ on the show and have a ton to cover to make up for that. Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha’s Aaron Plessingeris a breath of fresh air in the sport and won the 250SX West Region Championship his way. His lighthearted personality and permanent smile have certainly resonated with the fans. We always enjoy catching up and have a lot to cover tonight. Travis Pastranahas set the bar so many times it should just be called, “Setting the Pastrana.” He has once again captured the interest of the world with his latest plans to recreate three of Evel Knievel’s iconic jumps this summer, including the legendary Caesars Palace Fountain leap. We always enjoy when Reedy has some time to catch up and will cover the season and whatever the hell else he wants to talk about tonight! We were fortunate to be around for every professional lap of Davi Millsap’s career and always considered the South Georgia neighbor as part of our family on the show. It was a sentimental moment watching him take his final curtain call at Atlanta while riding during the opening ceremonies with his son, but as fans, we certainly understood the reasons he had to step away. We’ll get his thoughts on the victory and season heading into the always entertaining Daytona race. We’ve known Brett Smith since the beginning of our time on DMXS and have always enjoyed his journalistic eye in whatever project he decided to tackle. We’re pumped to hear he’s launching www.WeWentFast.com as another conduit to his ever-increasing moto audience. Please do yourself a favor and bookmark this site and support his efforts moving forward. Our sport is lucky to have his perspective and we look forward to his new endeavor. DMXS Radio thanks, DUNLOP, Coach Robb Beams, MyLucasOil.com, Moto Dynasty, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers for their continued support. The Dallas supercross has not always been kind to Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac, but he put all of that bad history in the rearview mirror with an absolutely dominating performance on Saturday. Eli’s season has been a chorus of highs and lows and we’ll get his thoughts on the entire season and beyond tonight. It’s never easy for the 250SX West riders to endure such a long break mid-season, but it’s always easier to take when you go into it with some momentum. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo has shown impressive speed all year and earned a season-best 2nd at San Diego before the long hiatus. It’s always a pleasure getting AC’s perspective and look forward to a little bench racing on all three series, and anything else he wants to weigh in on. Racer X’s David Pingree is on the show tonight. Put your kids to bed early and park your feelings at the door. Ping always slings it sideways on any topic we bring up and we have plenty to go over tonight. DMXS Radio thanks DUNLOP, Coach Robb Beams, MyLucasOil.com, Moto Dynasty, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers for their continued support. AutoTrader.com/Yoshimura Suzuki’s Justin Hill made his first podium of the year in Oakland and has seemed to find the groove we all expected the defending 250SX West Region champ to have at the beginning of the season. Justin has owned the early struggles and is never one to make excuses so we look forward to hearing about the turnaround from the man himself. GEICO Honda’s Chase Sexton has been holding his own against a stacked field of veteran 250 riders, including an impressive podium in Houston. We’re glad the fans finally get to see some of his potential after an unfortunate string of injuries delayed this amateur superstar from making the jump to the pros. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Bobby Hewitt is one of the most powerful men in the pits but prefers to stay out of the spotlight of his very successful team. He doesn’t give interviews very often so were pumped he decided to give us some time tonight to discuss the team, sport and how much the Dallas Cowboys suck. It would be easy to miss the Blake “Prince” Wharton coming out of retirement news with the Super Bowl and Space X rocket launch and stuff, but this is pretty exciting news for us. Blake will be contesting the Monster Energy 250SX East Region Championship aboard a Munn Racing Husqvarna and we couldn’t be happier for him. It’s always a pleasure to have the multitalented Texas native on and we can’t wait to hear how all this came about. DMXS Radio thanks DUNLOP, Coach Robb Beams, MyLucasOil.com, Fast House, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers and Moto Dynasty for their continued support. DMXS Radio has been making Bad Billy proud since 2001! www.dmxsradio.com Tonight at 8-10pm EST
Honda HRC’s Cole Seely had an off-night in Arizona after an impressive showing at the first Monster Energy Supercross Triple Crown race of the year at Anaheim 2. Cole was forced to miss some of the critical testing and prep time this off-season after having some hardware removed from his finger, but we fully expect him to be battling up front all year. Cole is truly one of the good guys in the sport and we appreciate him always putting up with us and our nonsense. Monster Energy/Knich/Factory Yamaha’s Cooper Webb suffered an injury in December that kept the hopeful 450SX championship contender less than 100% coming into the season. He put in his best ride last week in Glendale and we’ll get his thoughts on the season, doubters and anything else he wants to get off his chest tonight. The 9th Annual Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross (RCSX) returns to the Daytona International Speedway for the biggest two-day amateur supercross event in the world in just a few short weeks from now. It’s always a pleasure to get MX Sports’ Tim Cotteron the show and we’ll get all the details and new additions to the race this year. Check out www.RaceDaytona.com for signup and event information. We look forward to seeing you there! Those that have listened to our show over the years have enjoyed the always entertaining Wes Kain stories from every corner of the country. Wes is one of our best friends in the real world and we wanted our listeners to hear directly from the legend himself tonight. DMXS Radio thanks DUNLOP, Coach Robb Beams, MyLucasOil.com, Moto Dynasty, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers for their continued support. It seems every year there's a great underdog comeback storyline that fans can embrace and Monster Energy/Knich/Yamaha Factory Racing's Justin Barcia is certainly due for some positive mojo to come his way. An impressive night at Anaheim reminded the doubters that he is far from done and we'll hear directly from “Bam Bam” tonight. Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing's Weston Peick continues to make the most of every opportunity that he's earned over the last few years. He climbed his way from a struggling privateer to a solid factory effort and put up a top 5 in the incredibly deep 450 class on Saturday. Weston is always a great and honest interview and we look forward to catching up with “The Viking” tonight. Coach Robb Beams is part of the DMXS family around here and our listeners appreciate his perspective and advice when it comes to everything fitness, wellness, and training. He launched his newly updated website www.CompleteRacingSolutions.com and will get us caught up on the changes and do a little bench racing, too. Mammoth Mountain's Mike Colburt is in charge of a little piece of motocross heaven in the picturesque mountains of California. Mike will fill us in on the recently announced 2018 Road to Mammoth series and all the other stuff they do up there when dirt bikes aren't ripping around the mountain. Thankfully, our good friends at www.MyLucasOil.com supply Mammoth Mountain year round regardless of the season or event. DMXS Radio thanks DUNLOP, Coach Robb Beams, MyLucasOil.com, Moto Dynasty, SCOTT, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers for their continued support. We always enjoy having Ricky Carmichael on the show leading up to the Monster Energy Supercross season with his unique perspective as a five-time champion and on-track reporter again this year. We'll get his thoughts on the field, new rule and venue changes and whatever else the GOAT wants to throw into the mix. We'll also get the latest on the Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross (RCSX) which returns to the Daytona International Speedway this March for the biggest two-day amateur supercross event in the world. Racer X's Davey Coombs is already in Anaheim and will give his final thoughts before we drop the gate on the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross season this Saturday night! David Pingree has been heroically fighting the historic California fires beside his brave fellow firefighters for many weeks in between his other moto duties. We're glad things have finally been contained out west and we look forward to catching up with Ping tonight. Barrett Sallee is a college football writer/analyst for CBS, ESPN and an actual Heisman voter, but also loves Supercross and our show for some reason. We have a ton to cover tonight with the College Football Playoff National Championship and Anaheim 1 going down within two days of each other. Make sure you sign up with MotoDynasty for your fantasy supercross racing this year. They have an incredible new site and fantasy options for every level and style of player. We've seen all kinds of New Year's celebrations where they drop all kinds of things to mark the milestone tick of the clock, but only at the Ryan Villopoto Amateur Motocross Cup at Pala Raceway will they be dropping gates throughout the event to properly welcome in 2018. We'll get RV's thoughts on his signature event and a little bench racing on the upcoming Monster Energy Supercross season, too. Monster Energy Supercross on FOX analyst and Hall-of-Fame rider Jeff Emig will be joining us to give his thoughts on the upcoming season and endless storylines that will start to play out in just ten days. We always enjoy catching up with our friend, but especially with the anticipation of Anaheim 1 on the horizon. Fans around the world tune in every Saturday to the Monster Energy Supercross Race Day Live show for live practice, qualifying and insider interviews you won't see anywhere else. It has been a game-changer for our sport and ushered in a new ritual for fans like us that just can't get enough on race day. We've had the pleasure to cover Trey Canard throughout his entire professional career after getting to know him and his wonderful family through amateur racing. We're not at all surprised that Trey is already giving back with his safety-driven initiative in trying to reduce injuries in our sport. We'll discuss his vision going forward on that topic, and also take a walk down memory lane over his impressive career tonight. DMXS Radio thanks Coach Robb Beams, MyLucasOil.com, Moto Dynasty, SCOTT, Shades of Gray, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers for their continued support. Chad Reed has made a career of betting on himself and is going all-in again next year with his solo effort on a Husqvarna. Would you expect anything less from this maverick? Simply, Reed is a hunter and the new hunting season opens at Angel Stadium on January 6th. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Zach Osborne had one helluva 2017 after winning both the 250MX and 250SX East titles in dominant fashion. Unfortunately, that celebration is long over as his focus turns to defending the supercross title that begins in a few short weeks before making the jump to a 450 outdoors. We have a lot to cover tonight with our southern neighbor. Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha's Aaron Plessinger is back on the bike after a recent surgery during the off-season to get an ongoing foot problem fixed. AP looks to build on a solid 2017 and eliminate those unforced errors that cost him a shot a championship. We love having this dude on with his awesome personality and smile so big you can see it even on the radio. DMXS Radio thanks Coach Robb Beams, MyLucasOil.com, Moto Dynasty, SCOTT, Shades of Gray, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers for their continued support. Download Episode! Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin continued his off-season winning streak with a dominating performance at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm after collecting a cool million at the Monster Energy Cup. We're pretty sure he would have won the Rockstar Energy race if they had one. We have a ton to catch up on tonight with one of our favorite Frenchmen of all time. Team Honda HRC is always trying to shave weight off of their equipment and Cole Seely was carrying around some extra hardware in his finger that had to go. He was forced to sit out the MEC after surgery but will be ready for battle when Anaheim rolls around. Cole is always a pleasure to have on the show and we look forward to hearing him talk and stuff. One of our loyal listeners in England pointed out that it has been far too long since we've had Wil Hahn on the show. Sir John Edwards can no longer proclaim such madness. Wil is back with a vengeance tonight. There are few guests we look forward to having on more than Red Bull KTM's Roger DeCoster. Our listeners thoroughly enjoy his honest and forthright interviews and we have a lot to cover tonight with the recent supercross rule/format changes and a recap of KTM's year. Racer X's David Pingree will give us his thoughts on the new SX changes for 2018 and all the other headlines in the sport and around the world. Coastal Racing/Husqvarna's Ryan Sipes recently won his first-career GNCC overall victory and celebrated by showing up and representing at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm last weekend. He may not have raced on a supercross track in quite some time, but the Kentucky Kid didn't show any signs of rust on the unique and challenging track. We'll get his thoughts on his busy and exciting year tonight. Ronnie Mac is the most polarizing and controversial athlete in sports since OJ Simpson, and we're pretty sure that dude killed some people. His unapologetic rise to fame has left a bitter trail of tears and empty Pabst Blue Ribbon cans along the way. We can't wait to hear his take on the recent Red Bull Straight Rhythm race where he defiantly called out some of the best riders our sport has ever seen.
