Dale Earnhardt Jr. sets out to learn more about the world of motorcycle racing as he sits down with championship rider Aaron Plessinger. He recounts his worst injuries, biggest struggles and greatest accomplishments in the Dirty Mo Media Studio. Regarded as a fan favorite on the AMA Supercross and Motocross circuits, Aaron grew up around the sport thanks to his father Scott, who was a champion off-road motorcyclist himself. Aaron explains that he followed in his father's footsteps into the off-road world in the Grand National Cross Country Series, but ended up giving motocross a serious try and found a knack for it. He would get noticed during an event at Loretta Lynn's Ranch and sign a deal with a factory Yamaha team, Star Racing.Dale and Aaron discuss the different forms of motorcycle racing and how prevalent injuries are in the sport. Aaron explains that racers rarely complete the entire season due to the likelihood of getting hurt, and he shares stories of some of the attrition he's faced over the years. The guys also chat about the training motocross racers go through and how bike setup and crew chiefs make a difference in the sport. Dale asks Aaron about the difference between good and great riders, to which he explains that confidence and mental toughness plays a major role in racing success. They relate over the pressure that professional racers face and methods they've used to overcome nervousness while competing. Finally, the guys chat about Aaron's move to the Red Bull KTM team, his admiration of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and navigating fatherhood. Dirty Mo Media is launching a new e-commerce merch line! The 2024 Dakar Rally "48-Hour Chrono" stage kicked off today and dished out more challenges for the Dakar Rally competitors. Top Rally GP competitors lead out the day into Saudi Arabia's Empty Quarter to remote bivouacs that are spread out along the course. A sea of endless dunes met the racers head-on and some bowed out after technical issues. Today's race was the first part of a two-day single stage. And HRC Monster Energy Honda's Adrien Van Beveren leads at today's rest stops with impressive sand speed over more than 500km of racing. AVB's Honda teammate Ricky Brabec came in to the bivouac hot on his heels to sit in second (Virtually) and Red Bull KTM's Toby Price is right behind him in third. Honda's Skyler Howes left the race today after only ~40KM due to a techincal issue with his bike and yesterday's stage winner Pablo Quintanilla - poised to make up big time today after a reversed starting order - ran out of fuel 10km before the first refueling of the day, an error that dashes his hopes of overall victory. Check in with Malle Moto competitors with us today, as well as a chat with Women's class leader and enduro champion Jane Daniels on the Fantic machine. Cheers! Anaheim 1 will open the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross Championship on Saturday evening at Angel Stadium, signalling the start of one of the most anticipated seasons in history. From Chase Sexton defending now at Red Bull KTM to Eli Tomac's return and the Lawrence brothers' 450SX debut – plus a bunch more storylines – there is a lot to get amped about, all of which Nic Still and Aaron Durant detail in MotoNow.
The Pro Motocross Championship is about to close out at the 2023 Ironman Motocross, an action-packed weekend that will kick off with the announcement of Team USA for the Motocross of Nations. Although the Americans are the defending champions of the Chamberlain Cup and will run numbers one, two, and three when they go to France in October, putting the team together has been a challenge. Yes, interest in the race is at an all-time high after last year's victory on home soil at RedBud, and multiple OEMs have pledged their time and resources, but sending the exact same lineup as last year is not possible due to Eli Tomac's ongoing recovery from an Achilles injury, Justin Cooper's long-planned wedding which lands on the same weekend, and Chase Sexton's upcoming switch from Honda to KTM. And that's why AMA Director of Racing Mike Pelletier had to push the team's lineup declaration from its usual date at Unadilla, to the finale at Ironman. He and managing partner Roger DeCoster have spent the better part of the summer working out scenarios for Ernee, a complicated matter considering the time some candidates were missing with injuries, the extended season for SuperMotocross, and the numerous rider-team changes that will happen in October. Here's what we do know ahead of the official announcement. Aaron Plessinger is a lock. At third place, the Red Bull KTM rider is the highest-ranking American in the 450 Class championship standings, and he has not finished outside the top ten once this summer. Eager for redemption after the RedBud mud in 2018, expect AP to be the Open Class pick. Chase Sexton, the only available rider from last year's lineup, is down to go, and could use the race as his debut on the Red Bull KTM. Team Honda HRC has offered support to Sexton through the race, as they'll be backing the Lawrence brothers for Team Australia, but we've been told that Sexton would like to get on the orange bike as soon as possible. Sexton's involvement was said to motivate and determine Haiden Deegan's participation. The Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider has been impressive as a rookie, and making the MXON his first race overseas would be a big draw for both the team and the event, but we've learned that the teenager and the group around him may opt-out after a long year that started in the Supercross Futures class. The MX2 rider is often crucial to a team's overall score, and this year, it sounds like the group favors dropping a willing and experienced 450 Class rider down to the small-bore bike, rather than picking among the other Americans in the 250 Class. Justin Barcia is the most likely candidate. The Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing rider has been on Team USA a few times already, including 2015 in Ernee. Cooper Webb is another possibility, but it sounds like his current focus is getting up to speed on the YZ450F ahead of the SMX rounds. An added benefit of these two is that if Chase Sexton decides not to go after all, either Barcia or Webb could step up to the MXGP spot and run the number one plate. Here's my interview with Mike Pelletier from last Friday at Budds Creek, where he explained some of the obstacles faced this summer and the importance of unifying Team USA.

Presented by Pro Taper The Nashville Supercross was, for all intents and purposes, the end of the excitement that has built up around the 450 Championship championship battle between Eli Tomac and Cooper Webb. Treacherous track conditions and hard racing took several riders out for the remainder of the series and sadly, one of them was Red Bull KTM's Cooper Webb. We recap the carnage, the rumors, and the results in this week's Kickstart Podcast presented by Pro Taper. Enjoy!
Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha's Levi Kitchen calls in to tell us about racing in the mud at East Rutherford, how he feels about his second season, and more. We close out with GasGas Elite's Mark Fineis on his 4th in SX Futures, growing up racing Go-Karts, and the possibility of racing some outdoors. The MotoXpod Show is presented by Boyesen and Race Tech.
Presented by Yoshimura If you're an eagle-eyed race fan, you've already spotted the Loma Linda University Health logos on the side panels of the Red Bull KTM factory race bikes. A hospital sponsoring a dirt bike race team? Well, that's a first! We were fortunate to have Loma Linda Health's CEO Trevor Wright and Director of Business Development John Level in our office for this installment of the Yoshimura Midweek Podcast, and we found out exactly why a hospital would want to sponsor a race team, and lots more!
MX Vice Editor Ed Stratmann catches up with Red Bull KTM's Andrea Adamo.
Aaron Plessinger found another gear in Houston this weekend and looked to be on top of his form. We have the likable Red Bull KTM rider on to talk about his comfort level and what he thinks his ceiling is for 2023. The GOAT, Ricky Carmichael is on to talk LCQ shenanigans, his heyday of racing, broadcasting and more. Love having RC on the show. Chris Blose took his first factory motorcycle of his career to a 10th place finish at the East coast kickoff and the Zombie is NOT happy with that finish. He is aiming for the podium and we believe he can do it; after all he did it in the 450 class! Sean from DeCal Works stops by and Kris Keefer is in studio handling all the comedy!
Join the SMX Insiders as Jason and Daniel dive into great on track action from A1, including an interview with Red Bull KTM's team manager Ian Harrison. Daniel Blair talks to Dave Prater and gets the latest update on the events that led to re-scheduling the Oakland round and Clinton Fowler joins the boys to discuss the statistical trends he is watching after the first night of racing.
The 2023 Anaheim 1 Supercross is almost here and we caught up with Red Bull KTM's Cooper Webb during press day to ask him the hard hitting questions. Cooper didn't hold back, explaining that he was very hard on his team in the off season, making sure they did everything possible to make him comfortable on the 2023 KTM 450SXF this season. Cooper also talks about riding stock bikes, FELD positioning him in the second row at the press conference (instead of the front row with Tomac and Sexton) and he shared about his mindset on the Baker's Factory in Florida to ride and train with Aldon Baker.
Today was one of those days at Dakar that really shakes things up. For all but 43 motorcycle riders, the race stage was cut short due to a massive rain/hail storm wiping through the Saudi desert. The images are insane and reports are nasty. For most of the moto contenders, the day ahead of that storm was fantastic. Unfortunately, American Ricky Brabec has withdrew from the race after a hard crash during the stage. His injuries aren't fully known yet but we do know he was stable with mobility en-route to scans at the hospital. Reports are of neck and shoulder pain at this time. Red Bull GasGas rider Daniel Sanders grabbed a commanding stage win by blitzing through a long, tough, stage after a strategic finishing position yesterday put him in a prime place to win. His speed is what did the deed, though, as he led from every checkpoint all day and managed to put some serious time into his rivals in the top-ten general standing for the race.American Husqvarna Factory pilot Skyler Howes finished the stage in second today after starting in the usually unfavorable spot of third on the day. Howes was able to carry big speed all day despite being up front and, as you'll hear in today's show, he really enjoyed himself. Fellow American Mason Klein led the entire 400+ KM of timed special stage after his win yesterday to finish an amazing third today and put his stamp of competency and contention on the 2023 Dakar and the Rally GP class. The 21-year-old American lost minimal time to stage winner Sanders and benefitted from the new stage-leading bonus rules from the organization to limit his losses even more. In the end, he only gave up around six minutes the insanely fast Australian. The only way this happens is if Mason Klein rides like an absolute boss leading the world's best riders. And he did just that. As always, we start with Formula 1, where it appears Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner seems to constantly being interviewed by Sky Sports F1! This week's F1 race in Singapore was an action packed one, with lots of crashes and really wet weather! Even from qualifying, the thunder storms caused wet weather, and Championship favourite, Max Verstappen received a grid penalty for running out of fuel. The main race was then delayed because of the severe weather. After a number of safety cars and virtual safety cars, Sergio Perez brought his Red Bull car home to win, with Ferrari's Charles LeClerc in 2nd and his team mate, Carlos Sainz in 3rd. Verstappen wasn't able to clench the Championship in Singapore, finishing in 7th place. In the W Series, Jamie Chadwick missed out on a championship win after crashing out in Singapore. With rumours of W Series running out of money, will the championship continue? New Zealand saw the latest stint from the World Rally Championship. Finnish driver, Kalle Rovanperä became the youngest driver to ever win a World Rally Championship, at the age of just 22. The Moto GP riders were in Thailand in what could've been the wettest Moto GP ever, with bikes power sliding everywhere on the wet track. The win of round 17 went to Miguel Oliveira on his Red Bull KTM. Across in the USA, NASCAR was at the Talledega Speedway in Alabama. Chase Elliot took the win ahead of the next race at Charlotte to determine the final 8 drivers for the Championship. The British Superbikes are also in their play off stage. Tarran MacKenzie is still recovering from his broken leg so wasn't racing at Donington Park. Jason O'Halloran was racing well, with 2nd place in the sprint race, but was unfortunately involved in an accident and taken away in an ambulance. We hope for a speedy recovery. Tom Sykes was taken out by this crash, having won both the sprint race and the 2nd race. Whilst the 3rd race win went to Bradley Ray, who is on his way to a championship win. Next weekend, we have BTCC at Brands Hatch and F1 in Japan. Will Max Verstappen win the Championship this time? We have the NASCAR oval at Charlotte, with 4 drivers being cut. Looking forward to next weekend!

Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey talks to us about his exciting comeback for the 2022 Summer! What he learned, how much he enjoyed it and he answers the big question on if he'll continue racing...
In today's show we go deep into what many competitors are calling the toughest day of racing in the 2022 edition of the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia. Massive miles and challenging terrain, mixed with navigation complications right out of the gate, had front runners scrambling to limit time loss, while those who set off in a favorable starting position further back reaped maximum benefits.Starting the day in the overall lead for the rally, Monster Energy Yamaha's Adrian Van Beveren had a tough task starting towards the front of the race with rival teams surrounding him. It didn't take long for it to get worse as major time was lost in the first miles. We speak with Van Beveren's Yamaha teammate Andrew Short about the stage and what happened as time bled from Van Beveren's lead. We also hear from Pablo Quintanilla on the Monster Energy Honda team, as he kept his podium position intact after a tough day. Matthias Walkner on the Red Bull KTM is right there with him. Both of these riders needed to make more time today for overall victory considerations, but they're certainly not out of anything yet as anything can happen!Overall leader, once again, is GasGas' Sam Sunderland who had a great day, finishing only four seconds back from winning the stage to set himself up for a nice ride to the win in tomorrow's final, short, special stage. Red Bull KTM's Kevin Benavides re-entered the race after a mechanical DNF yesterday to take the overall win today from a deep 30's starting position. He will be a big asset to Sunderland's championship ride home tomorrow.More in today's episode you won't want to miss!
Today is the day at the 2022 Dakar Rally where the teams align and set their best riders up to win the big show. We get an update from Husqvarna's Skyler Howes who is back home after a horrific crashRed Bull KTM's Toby Price won the stage, creeping up in the general rankings but still considerably out of contention for a podium overall position . Monster Energy Honda led the stage from the get-go today, but dropped time mid-stage and that immediately put Red Bull KTM's Matthias Walkner on the front of the stage to fend for himself. Walkner led well for most of the stage, but dropped considerable time at the final km's, finishing deep in the pack. The other half of the Honda team, Pablo Quintanilla and Joan Barreda rode well and finished strategically to set up a great result on the final big day tomorrow.Consistent 2022 race leader Sam Sunderland lost time today on his GasGas but still is in strong contention for an overall victory. We get into all the strategy scenarios in today's show with quotes from Adrian Van Beveren, Sam Sunderland, Matthias Walkner, and Joan Barreda
In today's show we hear from stage winner and overall leader Sam Sunderland, Kevin Benavides and Mason Klein. Plus, we dig in to the final days of the race and how we see the results shaking out. The 2022 Dakar Rally has blitzed through eight days and nearly 30 hours of timed racing for the front runners and Sam Sunderland took the stage win as we head into the final four days of racing.Through it all, GasGas' Sam Sunderland has led after six of these grueling days - the leading performance at the front of the general classification standings, for sure. After a rough day losing time out front yesterday, Sunderland and Red Bull KTM's Matthias Walkner to get to where we are today. Tune in and enjoy!
The 2022 Dakar Rally entered stage 7 after the "day without a race" rest day, and it didn't take long for the drama to unfold.Daniel "Chucky" Sanders crashed violently seven kilometers from the start of the morning's liason, injuring his elbow severely and ending his Dakar hopes for 2022. The forceful Australian was confidently charging into the front of the race day after day, but a very harsh accident today ended it all. We talk with Jordi Villadoms from the KTM Group effort about the crash.Monster Energy Honda's Nacho Cornejo was the big winner today taking his first stage win of the year, and bringing a bright spot to the Honda camp as the rally enters the second week. Likewise, Joan Barreda came out firing today, ignoring a painful injured shoulder to finish high in the standings. Ricky Brabec and Pablo Quintanilla raced to the front of the pack, and navigated well together today to finish the stage out front, physically, finishing seventh and 11th, respectively on the day.We hear from Ricky Brabec about the day. Other racers lost significant time today on the stage, and we have a new overall leader as Monster Energy Yamaha's Adrien Van Beveren took the reigns at the front of the general classification after a successful day. previous days' leader Sam Sunderland (GasGas) and Red Bull KTM's Matthias Walkner lost big time today in the stage, but still sit comfortably in the top five of the overall. Don't miss today's show as we get back to racing at the 2022 Dakar Rally!
Red Bull KTM's Toby Price is a rare racing breed. He's constantly chasing another checkered flag. And in 2021 his schedule was massively hectic despite suffering a serious shoulder injury in the final days of the 2021 Dakar Rally. From race trucks in Baja to testing and developing the new KTM 450 Rally bike, Price is always on the gas.In our pre-race chat heading to the start of the 2022 Dakar Rally, Price opens up about being away from home for so long, testing the new KTM bike, the aggressive start stages for the 2022 Dakar, upcoming speed restrictions in rally racing, and how important it is to go fast, everyday, on every stage to stay in contention.Join us as we have a great time talking to the man with the mullet, Toby Price.
In this interview we talk with Red Bull KTM's Max Vohland. Max talks about what it was like leading at the Fox Raceway #2 National last season. He also talks about how he didn't test a lot on the KTM last season because he was just a rookie and was new to the 250 four stroke model and the team just wanted him to get comfortable. Max also talks about the new factory addition KTM 250SXF. We talked to him when it was about a month away from Anaheim 1 and he had only a few days on the bike so not a lot of experience on this new model yet for him but he was very optimistic about it.
If you've been following along this offseason, then you've heard about the moves made by riders and mechanics in the pit area. We cannot remember a time for mechanics as hectic as this one because, in addition to the usual moves from one rig to the next, a handful of guys have decided to leave their positions entirely.Matt Winters is one of the few that decided to call time on his wrenching career. Paired with Colt Nichols at Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha in 2021, the duo scored three Main Events wins, finished on the podium in every race, and claimed the 250 East Coast Region title, a career-first championship for both the racer and mechanic. It was a massive moment for Winters, a Maryland native who had worked for three high-profile teams. During our call, Winters went over almost everything that happened during the past decade, like his early aspirations shadowing local tuner Shane Sneft, how he became Cooper Webb's legal guardian, what it was like to build a bike from scratch at Red Bull KTM, the chassis changes he and Shane McElrath made to a Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM, and how he returned to Star Racing for a second stint. So, given all that success, what would make a guy want to stop? Matt was very forthcoming in his reasons and said that finally accomplishing a lifelong dream was one of the things that made him reconsider his priorities. Fortunately, fellow former mechanic Kristian Ortiz helped Winters get lined up with a new gig at SpaceX, with a position at the aerospace group's Florida facility.
Matthes and Weege break down the move of Plessinger to KTM and going to the Baker Factory
With inside knowledge from the KTM team combined with Cooper Webb's post-race press comments from the Ironman National, Jason Weigandt breaks down the latest news. Webb has convinced the Red Bull KTM team to let him make major bike changes, and he has also left Aldon Baker's training program. Sometimes the right thing to do is let the rider go his own way and trust him—but sometimes it isn't. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura, On-X Maps, and Cardo Systems.
Charlamos con el piloto de la escudería Red Bull KTM de Moto 2, sobre su trayectoria y su posible ascenso a MotoGP. "Mi objetivo ahora mismo no es pensar en el Mundial, tengo que centrarme en el día a día", asegura.
Brian Deegan joined us via the US Studio last week and before we got started we thought it would be a great chance to have a chat with Haiden Deegan and best mate/training partner Daxton Bennick. Both boys go against tradition in the upper levels of amateur racing by maintain a friendship, while also racing against each other. Daxton has just signed a deal with the Red Bull KTM team to turn pro & Danger Boy is quickly approaching his bike-bike debut.SPONSORS:DriTimes: http://www.dritimes.comhttp://www.rivalinkdesignco.com - CODE: GYPSYGANG 15%http://www.mxstore.com.auhttp://www.crickstweed.com.auhttp://www.fisthandwear.com - CODE: GYPSYGANG 15%http://www.dixxonquality.com.au - CODE: GYPSYGANG 15%http://www.boost.com.auWear Gypsy Tales Merch ► https://gypsy-tales.com/SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST ►https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsBGR5UR7UCyLvNbHSxisFQADD GYPSY TALES ON INSTAGRAM ►https://www.instagram.com/gypsytalespodcast/?hl=enLISTEN ON:ITUNES:https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/chapter-136-ft-luke-kidgell/id1335551721?i=1000508051454SPOTIFY: https://open.spotify.com/episode/3WaBKQaxua1BBiy3TDVdLm?si=GgZ3KFlcRk6e60AgSpELXAADD ME ON:INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/jasemacalpine/?hl=enTWITTER: https://twitter.com/jasemacalpine?lang=en
Jason Weigandt chats with Shayna Texter-Bauman after her double wins to start the 2021 Progressive American Flat Track Singles campaign. After a tough 2020, the narrative goes back to Shayna winning races instead of just getting attention for her Red Bull KTM ride, or being the female racer who battles with the guys. She's back to being a race winner! Shayna also tells the story of humble beginnings of sleeping in the race van, and how she met her husband, Briar Bauman, the current AFT SuperTwins Champion. Yeah, they met on the podium after she beat him for a race win! The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura and MXTech Suspension.
During Episode 9 of the Motorcyclist Podcast we talk with Red Bull KTM flat track racer, Max Whale as he gets ready to race the 2021 American Flat Track racing season.
Harrison is a mechanic for Tom Vialle the winner of the MX2 Motocross World Championship in 2020, and he has had quite the rise to go from small town South Australia all the way to working for Red Bull KTM race team and winning a World Title with his rider there, we go through how it all went down and the stories along the way.
The 2021 Dakar Rally penultimate stage did not disappoint race fans with plenty of drama and a shuffling of the top three contenders. With the unexpected and somewhat unexplained departure of a main contender, today's race stage had all the makings of Dakar drama at its finest. We call in to the American Rally Oracle, Jimmy Lewis and get his take on the race up to this point and what we can expect in tomorrows sprint to the finish. It's an entertaining and insightful chat you won't want to miss.Tune-in to today's episode to see if Monster Energy Honda kept their hold on the overall podium, how Red Bull KTM reacted with time to be gained and if the top five players made it through unscathed. One more race day to go and then the 2021 Dakar Rally will be decided. And it's not getting any easier out there!Enjoy!
Today's Stage Nine of the 2021 Dakar Rally was held on the anniversary of Paulo Congalves' tragic accident in 2020's edition. The likable legend lost his life last year on the same date and the entire traveling family of Dakar racers paid tribute to him today with commemorative symbols on their bodies, bikes and in their hearts.Red Bull KTM's Toby Price was the first racer on the scene of the accident last year. Today, exactly one year later, two-time Dakar Champion Price is forced to abandon his race effort with injuries sustained in a crash. Thankfully, the Australian champion's injuries don't seem to be life threatening, but the elimination of one of the strongest competitors in a brutally tough stage is surely taking its toll on the field mentally as the race drains them physically.Atrophy in the race has ramped up, consequences are extremely high, time is running out to make up time. This is the Dakar Rally at its most dangerous and unpredictable stages. In today's episode, we hear from Ricky Brabec who was first on the scene of Price's crash, and get on the phone with Johnny Campbell to ask how the racers and bikes are holding up in the Monster Energy Honda camp.
The second day of the marathon stretch at the 2021 Dakar Rally has finished with the top competitors rising to the occasion. In what seemed to be a catastrophic case of bad luck, Red Bull KTM's Toby Price started the day with a massive tire cut held together by zip ties and duct tape. But, somehow, the champion from Australia held it together to finish on the damaged tire, and claim second overall for the stage! Grabbing his first stage win, "Nacho" Cornejo on the Monster Energy HRC Honda team chased his teammate and defending Dakar champion Ricky Brabec into the desert, swapping the physical lead and maintaining a blistering pace. The performance was good enough to put him over a minute in front of Price for the overall classification. We cover the stage's events, hear from the contenders in the pits, and analyze the stages coming next. We also chat fueling and other strategies on the course as we've been receiving some questions about that.Enjoy this episode and tune in for Stage nine's results tomorrow!
In episode #016 of My Two Wheel Life I was able to dive into the very up and down career of Ryan Morais. Ryan faced more diversity in his 10+ year career as a full time professional Supercross and Motocross that would make the strongest athlete want to give up. In 2012 Ryan faced not only a career ending crash it nearly ended his life. Ryan didn't just bounce back from that he came back as a race winning team manager. In 2021 Ryan is the Red Bull KTM race team coordinator and test rider, and also assists in production testing. This is a must listen for those who are facing diversity or want to better there career when facing hard times.
This all started when Broc Tickle was fired from the Red Bull KTM team for a positive drug test. Unfortunately, Jason Anderson re-ignited the issue in a post-race interview. I was surprised by Aldon Baker and his implications about James Stewart, but you can make up your own mind about all this drama. Here is the original article:https://www.motoxaddicts.com/2018/05/17/cookseys-hard-truth-the-broc-tickle-screw-job/Here is the Jason Anderson interview that re-ignited the situation: https://youtu.be/vbQXz-KpoZc
Presented by FLY Racing Unless you've been living on a deserted island for the past several years, you have undoubtedly seen (and heard) the small electric stability cycles known as STACYC. Equipped with small electric motors and throttles, the little bikes have allowed countless youngsters to develop their two-wheeled motor skills sooner. What does this mean to the motorcycle industry? Future growth, of course, as the STACYC bikes make the transition onto a mini bike a practically seamless affair. Yesterday, KTM and Husqvarna debuted a line of officially licensed STACYC bikes at Fox Raceway, and we were able to sit down with STACYC CEO and inventor, Ryan Ragland, and his wife, Brandy. The story is interesting and inspirational, as Ragland is a friend of ours from his early days as a mechanic for the Red Bull KTM race team! Even if you don't have a youngster who rides a STACYC, this is a great listen. Enjoy!
Presented by FLY Racing It's been nearly one year since Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin lined up behind a starting gate aboard his Frankie Latham-tuned 450 SX-F, and the likable Frenchman is anxious and excited to get back to action next weekend at the inaugural Loretta Lynn's Pro MX National. The damage Musquin's knee sustained last winter was serious enough to keep him off the bike until only a few weeks ago, but he reports that his fitness and speed are good and he is ready to race.

While many riders are sweating the uncertainty of the locked-down racing calendar, Cooper Webb isn't worried all that much. He's ready to race whenever, wherever, and he's made it clear he wants to get back on the track as soon as possible. In this podcast with Jason Weigandt, the Red Bull KTM rider talks about his mentality during the week (much more relaxed than most riders, and totally different than what you see on race day) and the reasons he thinks supercross should return as quickly as possible. He also takes some bizarre questions from fans! The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is presented by Yoshimura.
Jason Weigandt provides a check-in on the American Flat Track success story. In 2017, a sport that was on the verge of withering to nothing found another gear, with some radical changes ushering in steady growth. Now factory rides are here, as well as some new young stars battling the established champions. Heck, they're even training with Aldon Baker these days! The best part, though? While the sport has grown more professional and sophisticated, the riders are still new to this process, so they're pretty open and honest in interviews. So Weigandt hit up defending Super Twins Champion Briar Bauman, Singles Class sensation Shayna Texter (the Red Bull KTM "girl who can beat the guys" who is also Bauman's fiancée), and 2019 Singles Class Champion Dalton Gauthier, who is moving to the big class for 2020. The new season starts this Saturday night at the Daytona TT. Here's the bench-racing ammo you need if you watch the race, which will air on NBCSN after Monster Energy Supercross from Indianapolis. Presented by 6D Helmets Did you forget that Cooper Webb won the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross Series championship? May feels like a lifetime ago and Friday's press intro for KTM's factory-backed teams served as a reminder to all about which rider will rep the number one plate through the 2020 season. A leg injury at the Unadilla Motocross put Webb on the sidelines and out of mind since August, but he's back aboard the 450 SX-F and the title defense will be his motivation through the upcoming offseason. We spent about twenty-minutes with Webb between practice sessions at KTM's private practice track on Friday and discussed some of what's gone in the past few months, his outlook for 2020, he desire to remain with Red Bull KTM for the remainder of his career, and what draws him back to the starting line every Saturday.
Three years ago, Briar Bauman wasn't on the list of would-be champions in American Flat Track—in fact, he was just trying to scrape together purse money to make it to the races. That's all Bauman needed, because his first love is simply being at the track and hanging with his flat track family (including girlfriend Shayna Texter, a Red Bull KTM contender in the Singles class). Then Briar started to put results on the board. He picked up a factory Indian ride this year and skyrocketed right to the top of the charts. With two races remaining in 2019, he holds a big points lead in the Twins division. That should add a lot of pressure, but he's stayed true to his old model: having fun with his friends at the racetrack is priority number one, and the rest comes easy. In this podcast, Jason Weigandt chats with Bauman about handling the points lead, the stumbles on his march to the top, and his relationship with current AFT Champion Jared Mees, who has gone from friend and mentor to title rival. Oh, and those special nights when he and his brother Bronson battle for the win in the Twins class while Shayna fights for the victory in the Singles class! It's all coming at Briar quite fast, but you'll enjoy learning how he keeps it in perspective. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura.
If you were going to pick the most successful motocross trainer of the last 20 years or so, it'd be pretty much impossible to not to select Aldon Baker. From individual riders like Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, and Ryan Dungey, to nearly the whole current Red Bull KTM and Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna rosters, he's been helping build winners for a long time.In here he talks about how he got started, the difference between training an individual rider versus a whole stable full of talent, the struggles of starting his own facility, and a whole lot more.
Red Bull KTM’s Cooper Webb has that 450SX title in his back pocket and good rides through the first two nationals as well. Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Garret Marchbanks did well at Pala in coming through the pack to get a couple of top tens not to mention his pole position last week at Hangtown. We’ll have Garrett on tonight to talk about his first four motos of the nationals. Kris Keefer is in to talk about his two attempts at racing nationals, Travis Preston is always great and MCR wrench Aaron Mrozek joins in as well

We will get his thoughts on the incredible racing so far and more tonight. Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s Jordon Smith made some unforced errors in Dallas that cost him several crucial points and gave Austin Forkner even more momentum going into Detroit this weekend. Easily one of the friendliest, funniest, and most well-spoken veterans of the pits, Ian Harrison has been through a lot in his 25-plus years working with factory racing teams. Teamed up as mechanic for Greg Albertyn, the duo went through South Africa and Europe before landing in the U.S., just as Roger DeCoster was taking the reins of Team Suzuki. Through tireless efforts, Ian and Roger (and Albee) got Suzuki back into the championship business, and wins kept coming through Pastrana, Carmichael, Reed, and Dungey. Then, just like that, it stopped. DeCoster had an offer to go to KTM, but The Man would only do it if Harrison went with him. For 2019, DeCoster has been promoted to KTM/Husqvarna U.S. motorsports director, and Harrison will take over as the team manager of Red Bull KTM. Harrison's journey from humble racer in South Africa to running a top team here is fascinating—especially when explained through Harrison's colorful personality. When Broc Tickle was provisionally suspended by the FIM for a failed anti-doping test under the WADA code, it rekindled all the complex conversations about drug testing in this sport. Fallout and finger-pointing came quickly, and even though many fans and industry sponsors pledged support for Tickle, he's still suspended for an indefinite matter of time, and he still lost his ride with Red Bull KTM. (Aldon Baker was Tickle's trainer at the time of the failed test, so his name often gets pulled into the fracas as well.) In June, we phoned Tickle to get his side of the story while researching a feature on the topic for the latest issue of Racer X Illustrated. That story—"Lights Out"—can be read in our September issue, out now. For this episode of the Racer X Exhaust podcast, we present the full interview with Tickle. The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is presented by Yoshimura.
Musquin is heading into this weekend’s pro national at Spring Creek with the red number plate. He took over the points lead at the last round held at Red Bud. Marvin has been battling with Eli Tomac the entire season (as well as others) but its his consistency that has given him the edge. Marvin […]
McElrath is running in 9th overall in the Lucas Oil Outdoor Motocross series in the 250 class. At High Point he went 9 – 6 for sixth overall for the day. He races for the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull KTM team. He finished third overall in the 2018 Monster Energy 250SX West series.
Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin goes into the final round of the championship in Vegas with a fighting chance after Anderson bled away points in Salt Lake City. We got his thoughts on the back-to-back wins and finally putting the Tomac controversy in the rearview mirror. David Pingree gave us his take on the sport, WADA, “The Pass” and teases a new Racer X piece coming on an epic motorcycle excursion in Costa Rica. We gave Red Bull KTM’s Roger DeCoster a call to get the latest on Broc Tickle’s provisional suspension and obvious questions about the team’s response and immediate plans while this arduous process plays out. We’ll also get his thoughts on the season, Triple Crown and anything else “The Man” wants to get off his hairy chest.
Download Episode! Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin continued his off-season winning streak with a dominating performance at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm after collecting a cool million at the Monster Energy Cup. We're pretty sure he would have won the Rockstar Energy race if they had one. We have a ton to catch up on tonight with one of our favorite Frenchmen of all time. Team Honda HRC is always trying to shave weight off of their equipment and Cole Seely was carrying around some extra hardware in his finger that had to go. He was forced to sit out the MEC after surgery but will be ready for battle when Anaheim rolls around. Cole is always a pleasure to have on the show and we look forward to hearing him talk and stuff. One of our loyal listeners in England pointed out that it has been far too long since we've had Wil Hahn on the show. Sir John Edwards can no longer proclaim such madness. There are few guests we look forward to having on more than Red Bull KTM's Roger DeCoster. Our listeners thoroughly enjoy his honest and forthright interviews and we have a lot to cover tonight with the recent supercross rule/format changes and a recap of KTM's year. Racer X's David Pingree will give us his thoughts on the new SX changes for 2018 and all the other headlines in the sport and around the world. Coastal Racing/Husqvarna's Ryan Sipes recently won his first-career GNCC overall victory and celebrated by showing up and representing at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm last weekend. He may not have raced on a supercross track in quite some time, but the Kentucky Kid didn't show any signs of rust on the unique and challenging track. We'll get his thoughts on his busy and exciting year tonight. Ronnie Mac is the most polarizing and controversial athlete in sports since OJ Simpson, and we're pretty sure that dude killed some people. His unapologetic rise to fame has left a bitter trail of tears and empty Pabst Blue Ribbon cans along the way. We can't wait to hear his take on the recent Red Bull Straight Rhythm race where he defiantly called out some of the best riders our sport has ever seen.
