On this weeks episode, Leah talks to Dr Lynn Robson, Dean of Regents Park College, Safeguarding Lead, Director of the Visiting Student Programme and Tutorial Fellow in English Literature. Lynns longest day encompassed the COVID pandemic, from its announcement to its conclusion by the end of which she was exhausted and unable to carry on. All her roles during that time were relentless as there was no time off from bearing responsibilities. Although Lynn learned that she had more strength than she thought she had, she realised that there were limits to her strength and that she needed to recognise her own vulnerability. Her salvation came when she was able to say to somebody else, Im finding this hard, and I dont know what to do. Saying this is not a form of weakness but is vital for a leader to take the lead in expressing. As Lynn adds, if we discuss it and we support one another, its likely that we will find a solution. It's been a life-long lesson to value herself and see what others value in her. So, it comes as no surprise that Lynn wants her students as future leaders to learn how to value themselves, see who they are with all their talents and importance without waiting for somebody else to tell them their worth.

Be supported on your donor egg journey with the Community MembershipIn this episode we feature Lynn, sharing her story of battling endometriosis and navigating throughinfertility.Lynn's journey began when she and her husband decided to start a family after getting married in theirmid-30s. They faced challenges with conception and visited a doctor after six months of trying. Lynn's husband, who had survived childhood cancer, went through testing. After several tests, it became clear that the issue did not come from his side. They later found out that it was due to her age, and the doctors recommended seeking more professional support.During one of her doctors appointments, Lynns situation took an unexpected turn when several tests were conducted. The results of these tests revealed that she had a low AMH, blockages in her tubes, and fibroids. As part of the diagnostic process, a fibroid removal surgery uncovered a significant detail: Lynn was also suffering with severe endometriosis. She expressed that discovering her endometriosis was validating. She saw it as an explanation for the pain she had endured for years. Subsequently, she had surgeries to deal with her endometriosis, remove fibroids, and address blockages.Lynn talks about her inner struggle with considering donor eggs. At first, she was hesitant, but she eventually became more receptive after a friend mentioned an organization called Keeping Hope Alive. This organization provides Infertility support grants for local couples and she said:“you know what? Thats not a bad idea. And I put it in the universes hands. And I said, you know what?If we win this grant, then thats our sign. Thats a sign that we need to move forward with this.”After receiving an infertility support grant that assisted with expenses, Lynn found comfort in a group called Resolve, focused on infertility support. She talks about forming strong bonds with other women who openly shared their infertility experiences, emotions, and struggles. This group gave her essential support and a sense of connection. You can follow Lynn on Instagram - @finklaTune in for more stories like this.Support the showI would love you to hit subscribe to find out when my next episode has landed and leave me a review :)✨Follow me on Instagram for all topics Donor Egg IVF - @donoreggmama✨ Check out my website www.donoreggmama.com✨ Find out all about my Community Membership for women on a donor egg pathway ✨To find out about the coaching programs I offer click here✨To join my free donor egg emotions support Facebook group click here✨ To be a guest on my podcast click here✨ Contact me here

John went to work for Precinct 4 in 1987, continuing service begun by his grandfather, Harold (left), who operated heavy equipment for the county from the 1940s until his retirement in 1987, shortly after John went to work in Precinct 4. Harold passed away in 2013. Harold's son and John's father, Bobby (center), worked for the county in Precinct 4 for a number of years, before serving as Precinct 3 county commissioner from January 1997 until his...Article Link

We have often discussed the joy of sitting around the campfire and inviting it is for telling stories. After looking around, we found an article discussing the health benefits of looking in the flames of a fire. In this episode, we meet Dr. Christopher Lynn, professor of anthropology at the University of Alabama, and hear about his research on the benefits of fire gazing. We also discover that the name "Caveman TV" actually has scientific facts to back it up as accurate. Through this discussion about the science of looking at a fire, we find out why we feel the way we do when we sit around a fire and why we are more inclined to tell stories with those gathered around. Sponsor: Kidsweek! Kijk voor de aanbieding op www.kidsweek.nl/ikkeniemanddie. On the evening of Friday, March 16, 1990, thirty four (34) year old Lynn Parker Priestley went out with some friends and a man she was casually dating for dinner and drinks. Lynn and her date broke away from the group for a stint of time, patronizing the Tidewater Grill in the Charleston Town Center. Lynn agreed to meet up with her friends at a popular bar, Spanky's about an hour later, but she would never show up. Despite the conflicting timelines of events, the facts of Lynns case are simple: she was last seen alive around 12:30am by a bailiff outside the Judicial Annex Building downtown. At the time of this encounter, she was said to have been arguing with a man who was presumably her date. Lynn's nude body was discovered five (5) days later by a fisherman on the banks of the Kanawha River between Chesapeake and Cheylan. What sequence of events took place after 12:30am in the early hours of March 17, 1990? How did Lynn Priestley end up dead on the side of a riverbank? Join the Cold Case Crew as they re-tell “The Murder of Lynn Priestley” a Cold Case local to Charleston, WV and the second in our “Crimes of Our Capitol City” series. #LynnPriestley #1990 #ColdCasesOfKanawhaCounty #Charleston #WestVirginia #WV #UnsolvedHomicide #UnsolvedMurder #ColdCasesOfWestVirginia #CrimesOfOurCapitolCity #JusticeForLynn #ColdCaseCrew______________________________________________References: Newspapers:The Charleston GazetteThe Daily Mail Websites:https://wchstv.com/news/cold-case-files/cold-case-files-30-year-old-charleston-murder-case-still-haunts-the-cityhttps://www.wvgazettemail.com/news/legal_affairs/25-years-later-charleston-homicide-remains-unsolved/article_811f6dca-7cb1-59e1-b4f7-a2816a77014f.htmlhttps://www.websleuths.com/forums/threads/wv-lynn-priestly-34-charleston-21-march-1990.199918/Youtube: Mysterious WV- The Unsolved Murder of Lynn Priestley ___________________________________________________Special Thank You's Thank You To Our FamiliesBrand RPMAh-Hale CreationsCandor Creative CompanyCompute OneKevin Beatty Music:abyss by Rexlambo https://soundcloud.com/rexlambo Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://bit.ly/3ksUw0D Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/t_VIgXsAp9I Editing:Whitney Cappellari and Audacity Website:www.coldcasecrewwv.comSupport the show

Lynn started running in 2012 as she wanted to do the GNR before her 60 th birthday. She had a bucket list which included Rock and Roll Las Vegas. Disney Princess run weekend in Florida and a triathlon.Lynn hadn't run, cycled or swam properly since leaving school so quite a fete to accomplish her bucket list but she set off on a mission and managed the first 3 but the triathlon was a bit more difficult. Her run buddies decided to organise a fun triathlon and their transitions include coffee and cakes and lunch . They took all day to finish but Lynn totally loved the challenge and on that she entered the Woodhorn Museum Sprint Tri. The thought of getting into the water was horrific but Lynn had some hypnotherapy, enrolled in the open water swim sessions and found a brilliant instructor to teach her how to swim. It took lynn 40 mins to do the swim in breast stroke , they had a canoe with her all the way but she did it. She Loved the bike ride on her hybrid and Finished 2nd in her Age Group and on the podium. she was totally hooked. Lynn entered a few ‘go tris' including the Leeds World championships and went from strength to strength gaining confidence and a good few cups. She finished 2nd in the British championships, she didn't even know she was part of the race and as she was getting my medal the BTF official asked why wasn't she a member of the age group team.So that was Lynns next mission. She qualified the next year for the World Duathlon at Stockton and the European championships at a very wet, cold and windy race at Bedford. Her attempt to qualify for triathlon was scuppered by blue green algae at Hertford and too many holidays at the same time as the qualifying races. So, she thought she would concentrate on duathlon.Lynn says she was lucky enough to compete at Punta Umbria last March a couple of weeks before lockdown and even managed to come away with a Silver medal 65-69. Lynn states putting her GB Kit on was probably the proudest moment of her life and her family and friends were so proud of her just qualifying never mind getting a medal.Unfortunately the worlds were cancelled last year and Lynn had worked so hard all through lockdown and was at her most fittest ready to compete last September.Lynn has qualified again for next year 70-75 ! However she has suffered with arthritis for a good few years but this year it's got decidedly worse and it's really bad at the moment. Her GP has referred her to the Orthopaedics and she is patiently waiting for a consultation. she has now decided to go,privately as she is unable to run at the moment so need to get it sorted ready for next season . Fingers crossed she can put her GB kit on and perform to the best of her ability again.
JT and Weege join Matthes to recap all that happened at the week that was at the Ranch...warning, lots of Evan Ferry talk.
Lynn Reilly always knew supporting people is what she is meant to do. As the child of a mentally ill mother, she watched dysfunctional thoughts and patterns take over her mothers life and eventually end it. At a very young age, Lynn practiced listening to her mothers woes and helping her make sense of them. This became her foundational learning of psychology and study of behavior, as well as a motivator to support people with understanding their emotions.
