This truly was "Best Trick"! Only 1 jump for each rider, make it stick. And whoever wins takes home $40,000. Maybe that's why Monster Energy didn't bring this competition back again after the first year in 2011. It was too expensive for 1 jump! This could be one of the best FMX competitions, but it only happened once! With Mark Monea landing the 'Carry On', Jacko Strong front flipping, Cam Sinclair Double Flipping, Kyle Loza going for the Bike Flip and Todd Potter throwing Backflip Combos like noone's business. Find out who won this competition and can you work out why we never saw another FMX Best Trick again from Monster Energy? We think it's a hell of a shame and would love to see it happen again somehow! Most of you know who Evan Ferry is by now. The Florida teenager has made a name for himself through wins on the amateur motocross circuit, a booming presence on social media, and well-deserved factory support. But as much as we've seen "Little Red Dog" rip, we've only had a few one-on-one conversations with him, and always during busy times like Loretta's or the Monster Energy Cup. It's been an eventful year for Ferry. A few weeks back, he and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing mutually agreed to end their contract, a surprise development that made the rider a free agent during the qualifying process for Loretta's. In the weeks that followed, Ferry bought a YZ250F, lined up for a few local races, did a tryout with Star Racing, and then signed with the NSA Yamaha Factory AM Team. The changes provoked plenty of discussions, with conflicting reports online from "those in the know" about what happened and why. With that, we linked with Evan to talk about everything, from his earliest MX memories to the path he's currently on. To say that he is a student of the game would be an understatement. Life at the track has allowed him to watch the sport's best, study their techniques, learn the motorcycle, and see what it takes to reach the top. During the talk, Evan pointed out that the family has tried to maintain a balance of fun and work, but the feeling that comes from winning is still what drives him most.

Presented by OGIO Powersports In just a few weeks, Adam Cianciarulo will make his proper, long-awaited debut in the 450 class at the 2020 Anaheim One Supercross. That's not to discredit the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider's big win at the 2019 Monster Energy Cup, but as you'll hear in this chat, he knows the October race is much different than what he'll face over the course of seventeen weeks. For how popular and acclaimed AC is, he's done a very good job staying under the radar this offseason. The majority of his time was spent in Southern California, which allowed him to test parts and setup on the KX450 alongside the team, and he continued his work with riding coach Nick Wey. This will be a big year for Cianciarulo, as he is widely expected to be in the mix for good finishes in every Main Event, with hopes for a win should things go his way. Impressive results will be key, as he has signed just a one-year contract with Monster Energy Kawasaki and sees the season as his chance to prove to the sport why he's worthy of a long-time spot from 2021.

Do you like technology? Of course you do! You are listening to a podcast. These pretty much didn't exist until technology allowed us to take books and such on the go, with iPods and iPhones etc. At one point there was no way to do such a thing with a wire or two to tether you to these grandchildren of Walkman we now use. Now, when you helmet up for a ride - you probably expect to easily access calls and play whatever music of podcast (like this one) that you are in the mood for. Enter bluetooth helmet communicators... They have come a long way since the early 2000's when I heard of but knew nothing about them, except that some old dudes on touring bikes wanted help installing them into their helmets and couldn't be more than a few bikes away from each other to use them! Check out the episode as MUCH has changed - and will continue to do so. Cardo Systems states this on their website: "Our passion is to make your ride exceptional We believe that riding a motorcycle shouldn’t mean you can’t enjoy the company of your friends. That's why we invented the Bluetooth motorcycle communications market back in 2004. We have been reinventing the market ever since. If you have the love for riding, we have the passion to make it truly exceptional!" Jamie Cheek is the VP of Sales for Cardo Systems, based in Texas. He is a legit moto and street riding dude and knows the tech side of things too. If you didn't already know about Cardo getting the tip of the hat to put their system on riders and team at the Monster Energy Cup this year, go to their website and check out the story there. That sort of thing gets me pumped to be witnessing moto history be rewritten. Goosebump stuff! Interesting to see what comes next on that. One of the pleasant surprises at this year's Monster Energy Cup was Jeremy Martin's return to racing. If you recall, Jeremy suffered a seriously broken back at Muddy Creek during the summer of 2018 after tangling with another rider in mid-air. Even worse, he later suffered a series of infections, as well as complications from the unsuccessful initial surgery. This was obviously a major hiccup in not only his career plans, but life in general. We caught up with him before he lined up at the Paris Supercross to talk about the time off, how he's been doing since getting cleared to ride, and a whole lot more.

Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including: WPIAL Playoffs Week 2 is going strong. Big games are Seneca at NA and Lebo at Richland. Penguins' Coach Sully has changed a few things. Penguins starting DeSmith against the Caps. Some of the lines were switched up and especially in the 3rd. Malkin took a 10 min major. The Pens fought real well and had more shorthanded shots than the Caps on the power play. TJ Oshie with the game winner late in the third and the Pens are on a 5-game slide. Jim Rutherford is not happy with the team and says changes will come if things don’t happen. NCAA hoops started night with some pretty big matchups. Duke handled Kentucky. Kansas won by 5 against Michigan State. Pitt Basketball had their first win of the season (69-53) with Coach Jeff Capel at the helm. We are going to have to learn some names this season. Pitt has their first 5 games at home this season with only one ranked opponent before conference play. Top 25 Basketball. PGA Tour is in Mexico. Keep an eye on the tournaments - especially who is and isn’t playing in them. Of course no majors until April, but lots of great golf to be watched. These smaller tournaments are where some stars can emerge. NASCAR has 3 races left in the season. There are 8 drivers left in the hunt for the Monster Energy Cup . NCAA Football saw Pitt coming off a big win in Charlottesville and at the top of the Coastal Division in the ACC. Coach Narduzzi had his mid season proclamation of ACC Champs. PSU got shellacked by the Wolverines (42-7) putting them at 3-3 in conference play and 6-3 overall. WVU squeaked on out a last-minute win over the Longhorns with a 2-point conversion that had some fun coaching calls. Notre Dame had a 10-point win over NW on the road. Notre Dame looked kinda shaky to get started and seems to play down to the teams they should be beating bigger. FSU is not that good this season, but don’t overlook anyone. TOP 25 Football Steelers had a scare last week with Ben on his roll out and having the wind knocked out of him. The Steelers seems to be gelling. Steelers secondary, other than Joe Hayden, is still suspect. Lev Bell sighting. Thursday Night game: What do we think? These are conversations we should have more often, and they take place at AIMExpo. In this week's Racer X Exhaust Podcast, Jason Weigandt dials up Larry Little, who runs the Expo as the MIC's vice president & general manager of events. The conversation is about all things motorcycling, including tackling today's challenges as well as successful strategies that have worked in the past. The round of 12 gets underway Sunday in the Monster Energy Cup playoffs. FOX's Matt Napolitano has more: It's down to a dozen in the quest for the Cup as the top circuit returns to Charlotte for the Bank of America 500 Sunday. Kyle Busch entering this race weekend in quest of his third straight win, but says momentum doesn't mean anything in the playoffs: (Busch) "There's a lot of racing to go. You know, I think week to week you can probably change your favorite." Busch trailing the leader Martin Truex Jr. by 18 points in the playoff standings. This as one of the final 12 speaks out on pay for drivers. Denny Hamlin sounding off during the week that salary should be on the level of athletes in leagues like the NBA and the NFL: (Denny Hamlin) "They're risking their life each and every weekend, and they're on the road just, you know, just like everyone else is each and every weekend." Hamlin speaking with Sirius XM NASCAR Radio there, calling for more revenue from NASCAR's TV deal to be shared with teams. This as NASCAR unveiled rule changes for 2018 to cars that will see the addition of radiators and common flat splitters for all races, and efforts to increase down-force and horsepower for competitors. Previous champions and young guns in the pack with some taking part in a NASCAR media luncheon in New York City Thursday. With 10 races between them and the Monster Energy Cup, drivers like Kyle Busch, third in the point standings, are looking to keep consistent: (Busch) "I think the biggest thing is just to stick with what you know. Keep doing what you've done to get you this far and to get you to this point. We've had a good regular season. We've had fast cars. We've been up front and led a lot." While up and comers like Ryan Blaney are taking their first playoff run one race at a time starting at the tri-oval in Illinois: (Blaney) "We've already run pretty good at Chicago. We actually had a shot at winning this race last year and ended up fourth, I think so. I think I'm very optimistic about it. Mile-and-a-half tracks seem to be very good for us."
