This week's guest on the ‘Torq Moto' Podcast Show is yet another former GP and British championship racer, Mark Jones, who joins hosts DocWob and ‘Jeffro' Perrett on the sofas for more candid MX chat and motocross nostalgia.Jonesy's story about his MX career is a good one. In this first episode of two, he explains how and why he started in motocross and quickly became one the UK's top youth racers before the boy from the valleys of South Wales became a young man and a factory Honda HRC rider in only his second year of 250cc Grand Prix racing. He describes what it was like being MXGP teammates with the likes of Stefan Everts, Fred Bolley, Ryan Hughes and Mark Eastwood and the pressures of being a young factory racer for arguably the most renowned and prestigious team in World Championship motocross. It's an interesting insight as he explains what was expected of him and how he was a bit of a rabbit in the headlights, especially with the extensive testing after his first year with the team.Thank you for all the likes and subscribes. This week's Torq Moto Podcast Show driven by Talon welcomes back Honda HRC's senior team advisor Roger Harvey to continue the conversation about his life in motocross. Following on from episode one of the Roger Harvey interview, hosts ‘Doc Wobs' and ‘Jeffro' Perrett fire questions Roger's way regarding his time in the sport post once his racing career came to an end. As always with ‘Harv' it's a great conversation with plenty of interesting insight on the industry and of course, more fascinating and funny stories from a man who has seen pretty much everything there is to see in the sport from both sides of the fence. The trio discuss how and why Roger decided to call it a day on his racing to then start focusing on training schools, to great effect, which then led to managing motocross programs in the U.K. for Yamaha, Kawasaki and ultimately Honda where he still plays a huge part in their success but now more on a global scale. They also discuss the future development of off-road motorcycles, the electric movement and where Roger sees it all going. Not only from his point of view but also from where Honda's future intentions may lie. And of course, Wobs and Jeffro couldn't let him leave without talking about Honda HRC's current stars, Tim Gajser and the Lawrence Brothers. Part two of the Roger Harvey interview on the Torq Moto Podcast Show driven by Talon will air this Thursday evening on Torq Moto's YouTube channel as well as Spotify and Apple.
This week we have Honda HRC's Jo Shimoda to talk about the progression of his outdoor season and the up and coming SMX series. On the Friday before the Spring Creek National in Millville, Minnesota, Jason Weigandt talked to Chance Hymas over at the Honda HRC truck to find out more about his path to the pros. Hymas didn't win all the time when he was younger, but once he got on big bikes he started to roll, and eventually Honda came calling. It wasn't perfect, though, as a rough patch during the 2022 Scouting Moto Combine and the 2022 Monster Energy AMA Amateur National at Loretta Lynn's certainly didn't feel good. But Chance is used to working his way up, and he's done it again as a pro after capturing his first career moto and overall victories this summer. How far can he go now? By the way, we recorded this interview before the Hymas/Haiden Deegan incident in turn one of the Spring Creek National the very next day. Hymas hurt his ankle but hopes to be back for Washougal this weekend. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is hosted by Jason Weigandt and presented by Yoshimura, On Track School and and Racer X Brand.
Presented by Pro Taper Without a doubt the most anticipated MX National of the year is the Red Bud MX National, held on Independence Day weekend each year in Buchanan, Michigan. This year's race lived up to the hype, and the rowdy crowd on hand was treated to a first-time win for "local boy" Chase Sexton and Honda HRC's Chance Hymas' first-career 250 National victory. As always, there was a lot to bench race about, and this week's Pro Taper Kickstart Podcast is a good one!
Billy Laninovich calls in to join Brent and Jeff to talk red bud and what we can expect. Big news as Honda HRC broke the news yesterday that JETT LAWRENCE is OUT for the reminder of the season!
The Torq Moto Podcast Show driven by Talon has another cracker for this week's episode brought to you by Docbright. Hosts ‘DocWobs' and ‘Jeffro' Perrett are joined by one of the industry's biggest players, Honda HRC's senior team adviser, Roger Harvey. Roger has played an integral part in bringing the glory days back to HRC; the trio discusses Roger's career as a British and World Motocross championship racer and how his journey in the motocross world began. As always with ‘Rog', there are some brilliant stories, industry insight and plenty of laughs. As with many riders of his generation, there are golden stories of hustling to work up the ladder in British and World motocross and classic road trip stories in a time when it was harder but in many ways easier to tour the continent. In this episode, Roger talks about how he worked his way up to become a British MX 125cc champion and a front runner in the 125cc World Championship and how life was on the road getting to GP's and continental international meetings, even on his own with no mechanic! He also looks back fondly on some of his long-standing friendships with the likes of David Thorpe, Bob Wright and Alec Wright, to name but a few. More bizarrely, there's even a discussion on the significance of the decor of Roger's toilet! Don't forget to like and subscribe so you don't miss part two, which is coming soon!

We spent the better part of an hour during Friday afternoon's downtime at the RedBud Motocross talking stickers with Matt Davis, co-creator and co-owner of Throttle Jockey. The Indiana print house has made its share of iconic graphic kits since starting in 1992, and for the past twenty years, they've handled everything for Team Honda HRC's motocross operation in America. It's a role that Davis takes pride in, and as you'll hear, his appreciation for motocross stretches back to the family's very first visit to RedBud in the 1970s.

Following the 2021 season, Feld Motorsports did not renew its sanctioning agreement with the FIM in Monster Energy Supercross. For 2022, the Monster Energy Supercross Championship would go back to exclusive sanctioning through the AMA, and the FIM announced it would look for new partners to keep an FIM World Supercross Championship going. The new partners came in the form of a group called SX Global, which included AUS-X Open principals Adam Bailey and Ryan Sanderson, as well as Tony Cochran, a key figure in the growth of Australia's V8 Supercar auto racing series. Plus, they announced the capital investment of an Abu Dhabi–based company. The group is calling the 2022 events a "pilot season," and it appears it will consist of just two races, one in Wales and one in Australia. Jason Weigandt chatted with Adam Bailey on Thursday morning to hear about the challenges and process of getting the first season going, and what the group hopes to accomplish in the future. Note: Ken Roczen will be participating in the two FIM World Supercross Championship races, but his announcement that he is now a free agent and will not be back with Honda HRC in the U.S. in 2023 came after this interview with Bailey took place. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura, Leatt, and AOMC.

Not only did 1983 British 125cc motocross champion Roger Harvey have a great career, he’s also had a big influence in the industry when he hung up his boots. First in the UK and then eventually becoming an integral part of the might Honda HRC programme and their recent success in MXGP. With so many stories to tell Jeffro thought it would be a good idea to catch up with his one time sponsor ‘Harv’ and have a chat on the blower sat in a lay-by on the side of the A35. Here’s what they had to say…..
This story is far too familiar for Hunter Lawrence: he's once again mending from an injury, this time a shoulder dislocation dating back to the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross opener. There's some good news, though, as Hunter and his brother Jett have factory Honda HRC 250 rides for 2021. Hunter feels he has plenty of time to make the gate for the Monster Energy 250SX West opener on February 20 in Glendale, and he's eager to finally put the injuries behind him and rack up some results. Jason Weigandt rings up the funny Australian for the latest on his 2021 deal. The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is presented by Yoshimura.
Even when word got out that the GEICO Honda team might have to close up shop, everyone knew Honda would find a place for Jett Lawrence. The 17-year-old Australian is the hottest prospect in the sport after a rookie pro season that saw him nearly win his third supercross race, then cap the year with a Lucas Oil Pro Motocross overall win at Fox Raceway. Plus, his off-track persona gives him popularity beyond his results. This week, Jett's Honda HRC factory 250F ride was announced as official, as was his new deal with Red Bull, which led to a cool video where he rides a half-width supercross track. Jason Weigandt rang up Jettson for a conversation about his new ride, his 2020 season, and the strange small-world story of training with Ken Roczen's dad back in the day. The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is presented by Yoshimura.
Presented by FLY Racing Chase Sexton has enjoyed a great rookie 450 MX season by all accounts, having finished second overall at the Red Bud One National and being a consistent front runner in qualifying and in most races thus far. With two Eastern Regional 250 Supercross Championships to his credit, the Honda HRC rider also moved out of the 250 class quicker than many, having spent only three and a half years in the division before moving up to a factory ride in the premier class. We caught up with Sexton this morning as he drove to the golf course to enjoy a leisurely round on this off weekend in the abbreviated Lucas Oil MX National Championship Series. Thanks to FLY Racing for making this possible.
Parliamone!
The timing couldn't be better for two riders in Monster Energy Supercross. Monster Energy Kawasaki's Adam Cianciarulo and Honda HRC's Justin Brayton were both scheduled to miss some time in 2020 due to small injuries, but the COVID-19 lockdown gave them time to recover, and now they're dialed in and ready as supercross resumes on May 31. Jason Weigandt chats with both riders to get their thoughts on going racing again, including their practice and training plans while staying in Utah and their perspective on rolling with the changes. The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is presented by Yoshimura.
If you asked riders in the Monster Energy Supercross pits how to manage the back half of a career, you'd unanimously find them pointing to the JB model. At 35 years old, Justin Brayton is a factory Honda HRC rider, he makes good money, and he travels around the world. He's also enjoying racing now more than ever. JB credits a focus on family and a love of logistics for his success. He actually enjoys planning every aspect of his off-season travel and negotiations, from time zones to shipping, from mechanics to bikes, tracks, and more. He feels family time helps clear his head from the 24/7 racing grind. And now that he has all that knowledge, he's trying to pass it on to younger riders. You'd be surprised how many deals Brayton is involved in that don't even have anything to with his own career. Jason Weigandt chats with Brayton about career management in this edition of the Racer X Exhaust podcast. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is brought to you by Yoshimura.
Cole Seely can say he's done one thing on a supercross track no one else has: ridden with a license plate. He might have connections at factory Honda HRC, but he built his dual sport CRF450L himself, and then got a surprise when he saw how capable the bike was when blitzing whoops and scrubbing jumps at the test track. But Seely has always done things his way, and his off-track interests make him much different than most of his peers. In the serious business on the track, though, he's just trying to match himself. After massive, career-threatening injuries in 2018, Cole admits he's not back to his old form, and he's had to adjust his own standards as he continues the rebuilding process. Can he get back to his old racing self? He reveals quite a bit in this interview with Jason Weigandt. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura.
Honda HRC's Cole Seely made his return to Monster Energy Supercross yesterday at Anaheim One after missing most of the 2018 season due to horrific injuries he suffered while running second in last year's championship. Always one of the fun riders to work with, we decided to try something different with this episode of the Swapmoto Live Podcast, presented by Ogio. Starting as soon as Cole arrived at Angel's Stadium, we shadowed him throughout his day to give listeners some insight as to what a factory rider goes through on race day at a Supercross. We were surprised at how much we actually learned about the process, and we're sure you will enjoy this exclusive behind-the-scenes access to Seely's day at Anaheim One. Thanks to the entire Honda HRC staff for allowing us to invade the semi, as well as to the show's sponsors, Ogio, RynoPower, Scott Motorsports, Intense Cycles, and Roy's Cyclery.

Honda HRC’s Cole Seely had an off-night in Arizona after an impressive showing at the first Monster Energy Supercross Triple Crown race of the year at Anaheim 2. Cole was forced to miss some of the critical testing and prep time this off-season after having some hardware removed from his finger, but we fully expect him to be battling up front all year. Cole is truly one of the good guys in the sport and we appreciate him always putting up with us and our nonsense. Monster Energy/Knich/Factory Yamaha’s Cooper Webb suffered an injury in December that kept the hopeful 450SX championship contender less than 100% coming into the season.
