You have to respect people who pour their heart and soul into planning the events we all enjoy attending. Lee Sipes is one of those folks. His passion for choppers, bobbers and all other types of motorcycles has energized him to plan the first annual Bad Livin' Roadshow for July 19 to 21 2024 in Durham, Ontario.Lee believes the community needs a Canadian event that isn't just a one day ride in then ride out event. His vision is for an event with camping, activities, and vendors where people can settle in for a few days of partying and socializing. The time and effort required to pull together an event like this is far beyond what most of us are willing to do ... especially when trying to work full time. Thank goodness Lee doesn't know better than to give this a shot.Karen and I will be making the trip to Durham with the Sportster in tow. I hate to be a pussy and trailer my bike, but vacation time is limited and we need to make the trip to Ontario several times in 2024. We're looking forward to making lots of new friends in Ontario this summer.Join us as Lee and I sit down for a conversation about who Lee Sipes is, why he has taken on the Bad Livin' Roadshow and what he expects the event to be.SMK Helmets is the largest manufacturer of quality motorcycle helmets in the world with capacity to produce more than 14 million helmets a year. Morton and John interview friend Russ Sipes, who, in light of contemporary events, tells us about an early military experience in which he was loading supplies to support the Yom Kippur war. Then Russ provides a compelling history of asbestos and the relevent litigation in which he has been involved. Civil justice (access to courts) and protection of workers also have been prominent in his career.

When Ah-in-nist Sipes decided to really find out if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true, he came with three questions. First, what is the real doctrine--if any--about the color of skin? Second, how does being a believing Cheyenne work with the teachings of the Church? Third, who really is Jesus Christ? Ah-in-nist describes how he found the answers to each of these questions. I love his journey. And he calls it that: a journey. He didn't just happen to stumble on the answers all in one day. He sought them out carefully, prayerfully, and diligently. Now he knows that being Cheyenne is exactly who he's supposed to be, who our Creator intended him to be, and who can do good in the world because he is. I love the way he talks about his parents, his siblings, his grandparents, his tribe, and his ancestors with great love and respect. This conversation is amazing. "Ted Lasso is the most harmful cultural product of the last decade." In the SERIES finale, host Murphy Kenefick takes the guest spot for the third and final time to argue that the personification of nicecore in Ted Lasso is not just bad, but harmful to the American cultural psyche. First-ever guest and friend of the show Patrick Fretwell takes the hosting position and faces off against Murphy and his advocate (another friend of the show) Parker Sipes. Later, Murphy unloads all of his remaining pet peeves and smaller hot takes to varying degrees of acceptance. The three of them bicker and laugh in the longest episode of the podcast ever and say goodbye to the show. Thank you for three great years of Objection: Argumentative!
In this week's episode, Annmarie has the privelege of speaking to an inspirational lady who is on a mightly weightloss journey. "Streaming is more responsible for the death of movies than anything else." Film camp alumni Marco Zucchini comes on to argue that the streaming method is basically irredeemable and has lead to the ultimate death of movies. Parker Sipes is also there. Murphy tries to argue for their worth.
Stan is a poster child for an enterprise leader of Business Development. He has worked in global manufacturing, the printing industry, enterprise services, healthcare technology and services, started a glass breaking software company and grew an organization for about $60m to over $300m almost overnight. During that time Stan has always focused on building a "Revenue Culture" in every organization he has been part of which is part of the reason for his success.
"No one's family actually wants the best for them." Chapman alumni Marissa Rimes comes on (with the help of appointed representative Parker Sipes) to argue that nobody's family truly wants the best for them, without some selfish reason. Murphy gets hung up on the absolutism of it all.
Julie Marie Sipes is a small-town girl that moved to Mesa, AZ around the age of 24 to become a pharmacy technician. Unfortunately, she experienced a major life setback when life became overwhelming, and had to enter a long-term care facility in her thirties at 650 lbs, where she ended up spending almost 8 years of her life. In that time, she successfully lost 100 lbs. and was able to walk out of that long-term facility. Julie was received into A Paradise For Parents, which is the incredible assisted home system owned by Hal Cranmer, who we interviewed in episode 415 of Boundless Body Radio. Julie, Hal, and her trainer Daniel Magyar, who we also interviewed in episode 425, all worked together, and in total today Julie has lost 174 pounds in just a few months, by leveraging the carnivore diet, intermittent fasting, and X3 exercise program. Ryan Sipes is a long time motorcycle racer. If you look at his official results in The RacerX Vault, 2004 is his first documented race. We're almost 20 years past that and he's still throwing a leg over a bike as a professional racer. His current situation does have him off the bike, which we talk a lot about. He injured himself back in January of 2021 while riding in Florida and he's had a lot of setbacks that he has had to overcome. The mental strength he's showcased while working through his recovery is a subject I wanted to dive into. We have other fun conversations about offroad techniques that helped him in motocross, leveraging the front brake, and how Hard Enduro is his quality pleasure. It sounds like Sipes is on the road to recovery and he'll be riding again soo. We can't wait to see him back on the bike, showcasing his depth of skill from flat track to deep woods racing. Fingers crossed there's also another ISDE in his future! If you want to hear more from Ryan Sipes on mental fitness, listen to his latest Power of the Mind Podcast with Phil Smage.Latest YT Video: https://youtu.be/UxpN60YSGCoDouble Blip Poster: https://shop.seattime.co/products/the-double-blip-hard-enduro-posterSupport Seat TimeBuy a Coffee: https://bit.ly/2WCKuBoShop: http://bit.ly/SeatTimeShopYoutube: https://bit.ly/3DBmyiKInstagram: https://bit.ly/seattimeInstagramEnjoy #GettingSeattime during 2023, Stay STOKED, and tag @seattime in your adventures.Support the show
Complete show notes at PatreonRate and review the show at Apple PodcastsBrowse my newsletter, original art, prints, merchandise, etc.✨ About This Episode:This week we dig down as what W.J.T. Mitchell called “paleontologists of the present” to explore the ramifications of A.I. on the creative economy as lensed through two notorious William Gibson quotes: “The future is already here, it's just unevenly distributed” and “The street finds its own uses for things.” Joining me on the call are artists Evo Heyning, Micah Daigle, James Curcio, Topher Sipes, and Julian Picaza — all of whom I hold in high esteem and all of whom are doing fascinating things both with A.I. tools and without them.I recommend this profound discussion for some refreshing sobriety in what has so far proven to be a totally crazy pants public discourse dominated by people who either submit unthinkingly to new technologies or run from them screaming without anchoring their perspectives in any kind of historical perspective whatsoever…Be sure to give this episode's extensive show notes your careful attention, as I've collected here a whole semester's worth of reading and listening materials on this and adjacent subjects with the goal of having a single master compendium to drop into public threads on these subjects whenever possible. (I of course encourage you to do the same!)This conversation continues with lively and respectful interaction every single day in the members-only Future Fossils Facebook Group. Join us!Lastly, a note about the audio: Once again I had horrible technical issues with my recording platform and had to spend time piecing this conversation back together instead of giving it a proper edit and mix treatment. My apologies for not managing to match the style to the substance…but this conversation is so timely and urgent I didn't want to waste another two weeks polishing it before getting it to you.Enjoy, and thanks for listening!✨ Other Ways To Support The Show:• MichaelGarfield.substack.com for digest emails• MichaelGarfieldArt.com for art prints and original paintings• MichaelGarfield.Bandcamp.com for over 100 hours of original music• linktr.ee/michaelgarfield for a trove of creations and numerous options for tipping Get bonus content on PatreonSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/futurefossils. Welcome to The Best 5 Minute Wine Podcast. I'm your host Forrest Kelly from the seed to the glass. Wine has a past. Our aim at The Best 5 Minute Wine Podcast is to look for adventure at wineries around the globe. After all grape minds think alike, let's start the adventure. Let's start the adventure. Our featured winery is; in today's episode. We head to the land of hockey, maple syrup, brutally cold winters. Butter Tarts, Duncker Roos, of course. Drake, Tim Hortons. Canada's most visited and largest organic winery, Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Stephen Cipes with a PH and the proprietor and founder of Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna, British Columbia. Ok, enough of the kidding around. Let's get down to the wonderful story of Summerhill Pyramid Winery. Stephen, your accomplishments would fill a New York City phone book. But let's start back at the beginning. Where did all of this being in connection with the Earth of the land and begin? It goes back to my childhood. I love growing things and being in the soil and being outdoors and climbing trees a little. As a little boy, I've always been an outdoor kid and I, you know, got involved in real estate development in a way that would save the wetlands and the and the steep slopes and very involved in early in the 60s, 60s hippie, if you will, out there protesting the way people built things. I was one of the founders of why environmental rules are so strict today, why they can't just fill in wetlands and stuff like that was my original push in New York, which was a big suburb of Manhattan. Feel like I am part of the Earth, and I wanted to get closer and brought my little family of four little boys and my wife Wendy at the time. And we came up here and bought a little vineyard, and Kelowna had to take out almost all of the vines. There were grapevines that weren't really good for making wine. They were for table grapes and for hybrid grapes and things like that. And I went to France, bought some clones there that were making the finest sparkling wine in the world because I got an inspiration here that we had the ideal climate to make sparkling wine very exciting. You know, sparkling wine is made all over the world. But it's most famous, of course, in Champagne. Sparkling wine is the same thing as Champagne. It's just. Yeah, if it's not from Champagne, it can't be called Champagne. That's correct. Especially if you make it in the traditional way, which is to use the three grapes that you must use in Champagne in order for it to be called Champagne, which is Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, in any given amount, you can even have a two percent Monet doesn't matter as long as you have all three here. We don't call it Champagne because we're not allowed to in a strictly enforce that. But we actually won the most prestigious award in the world in France, the best sparkling wine in the world. They couldn't believe it from a little place in an unknown wine region like Kelowna, British Columbia. Who would have thunk it? Those are the vines that you when you went to France. Yes. One of the biggest reasons is that if you have intensely flavored grapes, they will hold their flavor through the second fermentation in the bottle. And we here in the Okanagan have a very dry climate. It's called a semi-desert. And this low rainfall as we growers keep the irrigation down off really, and we get these intensely flavored grapes that make the best wine that will hold the flavor through the second fermentation in the bottle. And that's just been winning awards all over the world. In fact, when we first introduced our Sipes brewed in New York, where I'm from, I got rave reviews in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal. And oh gosh, it was a hit, and it was all sold out here at home because we got such great notoriety in New York. And the awards just keep coming. I understand you are home to the most awarded wine in Canada. Yes, we also have an abundance of Riesling, and the reasoning here...
