Bob Starkman began his professional journey in corrections, a challenging role where he guarded inmates and maintained order in courtrooms. Working in corrections is not for the faint-hearted, long hours, high stress, and potential danger are all part of the job. But Starkman thrived in this environment, gaining skills in discipline, communication, and crisis management. Look for supporting stories about this in platforms like Medium, Newsbreak and Blogspot. He later transitioned to a role as a U.S. Customs Officer, landing in Miami during the infamous "Cocaine Cowboys" era. This period, marked by violent turf wars and the rise of drug lords like Willy Falcon and Sal Magluta, saw Miami transform into the "Drug Capital of the World." Starkman’s law enforcement career brought him face-to-face with the high-stakes and violence filled world of narcotics trafficking, honing his instincts and teaching him the value of teamwork and strategy. The "Cocaine Cowboys" era was a turbulent time in Miami's history. From 1979's shootout at Dadeland Mall to the rise of drug empires importing billions of dollars' worth of cocaine, Miami became the epicenter of the U.S. drug trade. Starkman’s work during this time put him in the heart of the action, as he played a role in combating the chaos and bringing order to a city overwhelmed by crime. It is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. While working in law enforcement, Starkman began coaching basketball, a sport he had always loved. His dual careers might seem worlds apart, but Starkman found surprising overlaps. The discipline and leadership he developed in law enforcement translated seamlessly to coaching. In 1997, he joined Broward College as the assistant women’s basketball coach. By 2001, he had taken over as the men’s basketball head coach, leading his teams to remarkable success. Under his leadership, the team won multiple conference championships and made five state tournament appearances. In 2015, Starkman’s contributions to the sport were formally recognized when he was inducted into the Florida Community College Activities Association (FCCAA) Hall of Fame. This honor celebrated not only his on-court achievements but also his ability to mentor and inspire young athletes, many of whom credit him for their personal and professional growth. FREEDOM!We are, America is, the home, the land of the:BRAVE AND THE FREE.We are lovers of freedom. It is, you could say, in our genes. We inherited that love of freedom from those who founded our great country, fought against the oppressors more than two centuries ago and built the foundation for the FREEDOMS we now enjoy today. Give us, we say with that great statesman and our forefather Patrick Henry, give us that LIBERTY or if that is taken away, give us death for there is no real life without freedom. For us, America is in fact exceptional no matter the indifferent attitude of Barack Hussein Obama who thinks that America is no more exceptional than any other country! But all of America and we the people are exceptional in so many ways, including our way of life and our lifestyle. Everything is okay down to the last sentence and raise and champion our great flag, and wear the American flag pin proudly, especially in the world of academia which thinks the American flag is a symbol for racism and xenophobia rather than exceptionalism. And now, we should take quality time to honor the founding documents which make us great, namely our Constitution, our Bill of Rights and our Declaration of Independence. We should honor these incredible documents by reading them, studying their content, understanding the values therein and resolving as the authors of these documents did, and honor our forefathers who provided them for us recommitting to them and the world at large that we the people will protect and preserve the freedoms contained therein, even to the laying down of our lives. In this day, there are so many who would CHANGE what we have, or even more radically so, eliminate it. There seems to be an ever-growing number of those in our very own country with little or no respect for our great founding documents, our freedoms, the principles by which we have lived and built THE GREAT SOCIETY, and especially what America has been, our glorious history. They the un-Americans wish to eliminate or erode so many of our freedoms and move this great country toward socialism. THEY are the enemy inside and they must be stopped. We the people, true Constitutional Americans energized and emboldened by our founding documents and founding fathers must make certain we do what is right for our great country, and as true patriots, protect and defend our freedoms as never before. We should do everything humanly possible to prevent socialism of any kind in thought or deed.We should remember the words of that great statesman, a founding father himself, Benjamin Franklin, who said, when asked, that he and his fellow revolutionaries have given us, Americans then and now, a Republic. Not a Democracy, but a Republic. Franklin went on to warn us then and now that this Republic was FRAGILE, and needed at all times to be protected with vigilance, vigor and valor. That this Republic of the combined United States could never be taken for granted. Nor could any citizen assume it would go on, and on. For freedom, for Franklin and the fathers, was a precious right that could only be sustained by watchful, involved and proactive citizens. We who would live in this free country and enjoy its immense freedoms must at all times be:WATCHMEN AND WOMEN ON THE WALLSNot talk, debate or discussion, but action, actively working to protect our freedoms and our way of life, willing to die in the fray if necessary. Would you be willing to die, to lay all on the altar in the cause of freedom? What would you do if ISIS or jihadists attacked America and threatened harm to your family and you? What would you do? Our forefathers never gave the matter a second thought. They, in Second Amendment fashion, took up arms to defend their country, their freedoms and their family. Would you?In fact, we AMERICANS should be so proud of our country, and our freedoms, that we as a nation are ready at all times to help others in the cause of freedom. We gave the lives of millions of young American men and women to others in the cause of freedom. Witness World War II. One Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman 83 years young arrived in Paris by airplane. At French customs, it took him several minutes to locate his passport. The Customs Officer with sarcasm and disdain asked Mr. Whiting:“You have been to France before, Monsieur?”Mr. Whiting answered, yes he had and the smart aleck French official replied pompously:“Then you should know enough to have your passport ready!”Mr. Whiting then stared this official in the eye and said the following:“The last time I was here I didn't have to show my passport.”To which the French Customs Official replied:“Impossible! Americans always have to show passports on arrival in France!”Mr. Whiting gave this arrogant Frenchman a long hard look and he proudly stated:“Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchman to show a passport to!”You could have heard a pin drop. God bless America and God bless Mr. Whiting. And yet another instance of a proud American at work. When in England at a fairly large conference, Secretary of State Colin Powell was asked by the Arch Bishop of Canterbury if America's plans for Iraq were simply a rationalization for empire building or land-grabbing by George Bush as American soldiers went to war. Powell simply answered by saying:“Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those who did not return.”All attending that conference were deadly silent. Well said, Mr. Powell, well said as a proud American. There was once a conference in France when a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. One of the French engineers said the following:“Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?”Those in attendance snickered and jeered. That is, until an engineer from the Boeing company in America stood up and proudly stated:“Our aircraft carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people. They are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities. They have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day. They can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day. They carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and the injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such aircraft carriers. How many does France have?”You could have heard a pin drop. And again, a U.S. Naval Admiral was attending a naval conference that included admirals from the united states, England, Canada, Australia and France. Every one in attendance was conversing in English. Suddenly a French Admiral complained the Europeans learn many languages but Americans learn only English. This French Admiral arrogantly and pompously said:“Why is that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?”The American United States Naval Admiral stood up proudly and replied:“Maybe it is because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so that you would not have to speak German!”The room was deadly silent. So, whether here at home or anywhere abroad, anywhere in the world, it is our privilege, our duty, our passion to protect FREEDOM at every turn. That freedom means for us and all in the world the fundamental rights, the God-given rights to:LIFELIBERTYTHE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESSIt is our right to live life free, with maximum freedom. It is our right to live and champion liberty everywhere. And, it is our right to pursue happiness as we define that, as free individuals, to pursue life legally and lovingly as we choose. May it always be so, but it only can be if we are willing to do anything possible to protect those freedoms. ANYTHING! Are you?So now, this Independence week, culminating in the great day July 4, Independence Day, we should honor America, this great country in which we are privileged to live. We should honor all things American and we should honor our flag as a symbol of who we are and what we believe. There are those who would desecrate or cause to be irrelevant the great stars and stripes. There was the action of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) which banned the wearing of the American flag as a lapel pin or otherwise in clothing because the flag in their view was controversial and represented the causes of certain conservatives. How tragic, how ridiculous, how un-American the actions of the American Broadcasting Company. There are times when our President, our Congress, our leading citizens simply do not wear or honor the flag or any other symbol of all great things American. We the people should find all such conduct unacceptable and we should protest. The greatest form of protest is to protect, preserve and defend our freedoms and the symbol of those freedoms, the great American flag, the perfect symbol of our independence and the finest possible expression of freedom on the great day July 4, Independence Day. Do just that loudly and proudly my fellow citizens.Think carefully, my fellow Americans, about the precious freedoms granted by your Constitution and your Bill of Rights. Remember that you are guaranteed the right to freedom of religion, to worship and practice religion as you please. You are guaranteed the right to free speech, to speak as you wish at anytime, anywhere, with any words. You are guaranteed the right to freely assemble, to petition, to print in press or on the Internet. YOU ARE GUARANTEED THOSE RIGHTS! You are guaranteed the right to bear arms, to purchase, own and use them for pleasure or in self-defense. You are guaranteed the right against governmental illegal search and seizure. You are guaranteed the right a trial by a jury of your peers rather than to be summarily convicted by any governmental agency. You are guaranteed the right to counsel if you can not afford one when charged with a crime. You are guaranteed the right to vote. You are guaranteed to pursue life, liberty and happiness as you wish! You are guaranteed by your Constitution and Bill of Rights the highest and best form of living and lifestyle the world has ever known! You should give thanks for America, for all that it was, is and can be in the future if YOU as Benjamin Franklin so well said standup and do everything possible to KEEP IT that is the great experiment in freedom which our founding fathers intended. Please join with me this Independence Week, this Freedom Week and especially on the set-aside day for freedom celebration, namely July 4 in pledging once again our allegiance to this great country. Please join me in these great words which honor America:I pledge allegianceto the Flagof the United States of Americaand to the Republic for which it standsone nationindivisiblewith liberty and justicefor all!I ask humbly and lovingly that GOD BLESS AMERICA.And I ask humbly as well that GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!There is only one America. FREEDOM! We are, America is, the home, the land of the: BRAVE AND THE FREE. We are lovers of freedom. We should do everything humanly possible to prevent socialism of any kind in thought or deed. We should remember the words of that great statesman, a founding father himself, Benjamin Franklin, who said, when asked, that he and his fellow revolutionaries have given us, Americans then and now, a Republic. We who would live in this free country and enjoy its immense freedoms must at all times be: WATCHMEN AND WOMEN ON THE WALLS Not talk, debate or discussion, but action, actively working to protect our freedoms and our way of life, willing to die in the fray if necessary. Would you?  In fact, we AMERICANS should be so proud of our country, and our freedoms, that we as a nation are ready at all times to help others in the cause of freedom. Whiting: “You have been to France before, Monsieur?” Mr. Whiting answered, yes he had and the smart aleck French official replied pompously: “Then you should know enough to have your passport ready!” Mr. Whiting then stared this official in the eye and said the following: “The last time I was here I didn't have to show my passport.” To which the French Customs Official replied: “Impossible!  Americans always have to show passports on arrival in France!” Mr. Whiting gave this arrogant Frenchman a long hard look and he proudly stated: “Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchman to show a passport to!” You could have heard a pin drop. Powell simply answered by saying: “Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders.  The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those who did not return.” All attending that conference were deadly silent.  Well said, Mr. Powell, well said as a proud American. There was once a conference in France when a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American.  One of the French engineers said the following: “Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done?  He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. Chris Hipkins: Public Service Minister on the three year pay freeze for civil servants

Public sector workers earning more than $60,000 can only expect pay increases in "exceptional circumstances" while those on more than $100,000 won't get a cent more over the next three years, the Government says.Last year the public sector was asked to have nil or minimal pay increases until next month. The Government says the extended pay freeze is to reduce debt from the Covid-19 response, but the Public Service Association (PSA) says it punishes workers "after a year of sacrifice, hard work and success protecting New Zealanders from Covid-19".The Government's Workforce Policy Statement, issued today, sets out its expectations for pay and employment relations in the public sector.New Zealand had an "exceptionally successful health and economic response to Covid-19", Finance Minister Grant Robertson said, supported by the Government taking on debt for polices like the wage subsidy."As the recovery gets under way, we are keeping a close watch on the debt taken on during Covid-19 to support the economy," Robertson said."Just as businesses are making decisions as they plan for the recovery, our responsible economic approach means the Government is faced with choices about where new spending is targeted."Public Service Minister Chris Hipkins said any increases would be targeted to lower-paid public servants, largely those earning below $60,000, who account for about 25 per cent of the public sector. Those earning between that and $100,000 could expect increases only in "exceptional circumstances"."We want to see those on lower wages be the focus of any increases in pay."This is about prioritising spending. The policy will also help protect jobs by taking financial pressure off the public wage bill."The PSA, which represents almost 80,000 workers, said they felt "betrayed"."In our hospitals, in testing labs and on our borders, PSA members did the hard work required to push Covid-19 out of this country," national secretary Kerry Davies said."It is unacceptable that after 12 months of pay restriction these workers are told to swallow it for another two years."The median salary for a PSA member is $59,000 a year, and 80 per cent earn below $75,000 annually, Davies said.Border and MIQ personnel have spent the past year under tremendous pressure, working above and beyond normal expectations. The median salary for a Customs Officer is $59,000 a year. Biosecurity officers earn $63,000, quarantine officers $70,000 and immigration officers $53,000.Government pay restrictions will be a tough pill to swallow for the border workers, and the many public servants who supported business owners and workers through lockdowns and their flow on effects."The Government can tell employers not to offer pay increases, but it doesn't seem able to limit increases in the cost of living," Davies said."Public servants are more likely to rent than most New Zealanders, and rents and house prices continue to skyrocket."Hipkins said the measures would not affect work within the Public Service to close gender and ethnic pay gaps."The guidance is consistent with the decision last year by the Remuneration Authority that Ministers and MPs would not be getting pay rises for three years because of the Covid-19 economic environment," Hipkins said."The Public Service Commissioner, who sets the pay of Public Service chief executives, will also not be increasing their pay."Asked what impact the freeze could have on higher-paid staff and potentially moving to the private sector, Hipkins the private sector too was experiencing pay freezes.Public sector wages over the past few years had also outpaced the private sector, and this would allow it to "catch up", he said. The Government was also "cracking down" on the use of what Hipkins called a "public consultant culture", he said."Where people are being brought in to do work where the public service should have capability to do internally it is unjustified. We are dialling that back."Asked if hav...

Today's Under the Radar topic is ‘the professions'—with a twist. It's about professionals with whom we come in contact regularly, but professionals we really don't know much about. I can't think of a job that has been more in the spotlight since 9/11 than U.S. Customs. My guest, Pat Burns, demystifies what's involved in being a Customs Officer, including talking about the many challenges associated with the job.

And, I don't know if you know but that means … basically taking control or monitoring our borders and checking what comes in and out of the country.Ray: Well that sounds pretty interesting.Shirley: Yeah, it had its moments.Ray: Like for exampleShirley: Well, Australia has very strict quarantine regulations so we'd often get people trying to smuggle in prohibited food or seeds or plants and I remember one time there was a man who had an entire sapling, a small tree strapped to his body. He had the roots kind of in his shoe and it was strapped to his leg all the way up his body and along his arm and of course his clothes on top so that we couldn't see them.Ray: Well that's a, are now you sure he was a person and not an “ent”?Shirley: I don't know. He was doing a good disguise if he was in fact a walking “ent”.Ray: That's true, so what'd you do to this poor guy?Shirley: We didn't do so much to the poor guy, I think he probablyRay: so what did you do to his poor tree then I guess.Shirley: Well his tree was confiscated and would be destroyed. Probably he was fined and went to court and would have to pay a fine.Ray: What other things do people smuggle?Shirley: All sorts of strange things. Sometimes they smuggle things that they don't even realize are prohibited. So for example, canned foods like pate or canned meats are also completely prohibitedRay: Oh boyShirley: Yeah, I mean a lot of those things they can hold, for example, foot and mouth disease, I think, is resistant to very high temperatures and it'll last for about seven or eight years. So those things are also prohibited. Birds, which is pretty sad because when people bring in something like birds or small animals the death rate for the animals is extremely high soRay: Goodness, yes.Shirley: Usually only about ten percent (10%) survive and if they get caught, then they can't have them anyway.Ray: Can't imagine how, if you were trying to smuggle a bird I have visions of somebody anesthetizing[麻醉,麻痹] the poor thing and, stuffing it into their backpack or something of that sort andShirley: YeahRay: that can't be goodShirley: there's lots of imaginative ways to do that but all in all, none of them are very good for the birds.Ray: Any reptiles?Shirley: Yeah well, people do smuggle them in, although actually in the case of Australia I think we have a bigger problem with them going out because Australia has, I think, the highest number of venomous reptiles in the world and also different types of reptiles so people taking them out illegally is a big problem. I personally never saw any, fortunately. I actually quite like snakes but I have a healthy respect for them so I don't really want to be, you know, engaging with them on a one-to-one personal level.

Also, WHY God gives you ideas to facilitate MIRACLES in the earth. ___________________________________________   MIRACLE IDEAS FROM GOD MESSIAH'S MEDIA I want to talk to you today about ideas from God ... and HOW to be a good steward of them. Some of the ideas that God gives you MAY seem very foolish to others -- AND they may even seem foolish to you -- BUT you must be a good steward of what God gives you. So if God gives you an idea, then develop that idea. Also, sometimes ideas are not for you; they may be for someone else. God may give them to you to share with others. You must be a good steward of the ideas that God gives you. I remember I had an idea one time about making outdoor posters, weatherproof posters for the LORD, and I wanted to run that idea by another person for confirmation. So I chose a person that I thought was the "farthest out" person in the world. His name was Yacov (or Jacob) Grim and he was from Canada. I ran the idea by him and he replied, "This is too far out for me!" When I received his reply, I knew the idea was from God. You see my friend, God wants to do some things through your life that are so far out that nobody can receive the credit for its success except God -- not even YOU -- God gets the credit. When the idea came to me about the weatherproof outdoor posters, I had envisioned this in different languages, so I planned to do them in bilingual Hebrew-English. I also did them in French, in Portuguese, in Spanish, in German and also in English. And so I selected three different basic sizes. One was a small size, a 3 by 4 inch. The other one a middle size 6 by 10 inch, and a large one 30 by 40 inches. So I rented facilities across the street from where I lived and we did our own silk screening. After we would silkscreen these in multicolors, we would also put a chemical coating over them to protect them from the weather. The material (he base stock) that we did the silk screening on was weatherproof and tear proof. These signs became quite successful. We got pictures of them from different countries and they went all over the world with different Gospel messages on them. One had "Appearing Here Soon -- Messiah Jesus" with the background of the world on it. We had lots of different messages on the signs. The one in Hebrew had a Star of David on it. It was in bilingual Hebrew-English and said "MESSIAH YESHUA DIED FOR US ... WAS BURIED ... IS ALIVE." So on my next trip to Israel, I took in about 4,000 of these signs. While I was at the airport in Boston waiting to go overseas, I was paged on the loudspeaker to come to the Customs Office. A Customs Officer met me in the Customs Office and said to me, "What are these?" And he had all 4,000 of the signs there in the office. God spoke to me.and said, "Do not lie to this man." So I knew I had to be honest. And I said, "They are advertising samples." The Customs Officer said, "That's okay," and gave the approval for the signs to be on board the flight with me. When I arrived in Israel, at Lod Airport, I stayed all night the first night in either Tel Aviv or Haifa and then I rented a a small sharut, (small car) and drove down to Jerusalem. And after that I booked in to where I wanted to stay for a few days and then I rented a car for seven weeks and took the "Vis Tab" signs all over Israel. I spoke to several groups and I was a guest in a Yeshiva in the old city. During my time in Jerusalem and Bethlehem I met several Israeli Arabs who loved Messiah Jesus and who loved Israel and the Jews. One of the Arabs was named Ramsey Hazeen. He was a Palestinian Arab, but he was a Christian. He was a believer in Messiah Yeshua. He loved the signs that I had, especially the small 3 by 4 inch ones with permanent adhesive. I think I may have given him some of the 30 by 40 inch ones, also. :) Mr Hazeen gave lots of the small signs to another Arab Christian who -- I don't know why -- was wearing a fatigue jacket, an IDF (Israeli defense Forces) Army fatigue jacket. But this young man was not in the military. He simply had a fatigue jacket on. So they arrested him in downtown Jerusalem, and when they arrested him, they found all these signs in the pockets of his fatigue jacket that said "MESSIAH DIED FOR US ... WAS BURIED ... IS ALIVE" with the Star of David on them. So they took him to the police station. (The IDF soldiers actually arrested him but they took him to the police station and asked him what these signs were about. So he started preaching to them about Jesus, the Messiah of Israel. And they liked it ... and they liked the signs. And the Israeli policemen liked it, so they put the signs up on the wall of the Police Station. REMEMBER: these signs had PERMANENT adhesive on the back. There was no way to get them down unless you chiseled them away ... OR blew up the wall. :) Then the soldiers, the IDF Army soldiers, put the signs on the stocks of their weapons, on their rifles. REMEMBER: these signs had PERMANENT adhesive on the back. So these signs were all over Israel. Now in a subsequent session, I will tell you another thing that happened where the Lord led me to a group of government meters (water flow measuring instruments) in the Sinai Peninsula, and how God used them for MIRACLES. Just a simple story today about an IDEA God gave me ... and HOW he will use the ideas He gives YOU ... IF you ACT on them. Also, in another subsequent session I will share with you how God reached multiplied millions of people through the "Vis-Tab" signs. So be a good steward of what God gives you, my friend. Keep your mind open to the IDEAS that the Ruach Elohim -- the Spirit of God -- gives you, because God wants to reach people with his love … and the message of salvation … more than you do. Think about it, how did you receive the message of salvation? Somebody shared it with you ... OR you heard it or read it in the Scriptures. God wants to reach people with His message of FORGIVENESS and a NEW START. We are living in the last days. So listen to the IDEAS that the Holy Spirit gives YOU and then implement them ... or at least share them with others so that they may implement them. God will do miraculous works through you. I hope this has helped you, my friend, and I pray that God will use this message to reach multitudes in nations all over the world for the Messiah. “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols. See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.” (Isaiah 42:8-9)     ~  ~  ~ “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:18-19) Baruch haba b'Shem Adonai.
