  Hey everyone, it's Tony again with Friends for Life. One of the most challenging aspects of being deeply immersed in our field is the feeling of never truly being "off." Even during personal time with friends and family, it can feel like you're stuck in work mode, which can be mentally exhausting. To help combat this, I have a few activities that I enjoy and that might be beneficial for you too. First, I love taking long walks. If I have the time, I'll go for a two-mile walk to enjoy nature. I wasn't always a believer in the benefits of walking, but now I find it incredibly refreshing and grounding. Secondly, I enjoy reading, especially audiobooks since I'm often on the road. Listening to something unrelated to work can be a great mental break. Spending quality family time is crucial. We often say we'll have family time, but it ends up being more about us than them. Truly engaging in activities your family enjoys can be rejuvenating. Swimming is another favorite of mine. The connection with water is incredibly relaxing and soothing for the soul. Exercise is also a great way to recharge. It doesn't have to be intense—just a 15-20 minute session of simple exercises like squats, push-ups, or a short run can boost your mood through endorphins. Lastly, if you're looking for something less active, try a 10-minute meditation. There are plenty of guided breathing exercises available online that can leave you feeling decompressed and stress-free. These are a few methods I use to reset and recharge, and I hope they can help you too.
