Send us a textBrinn Langdale was 18 years old, when she was asked a question that changed her life forever. Someone asked if her older brother had ever "done anything to her." The answer was yes. For 12 years she had been molested by him. Growing up she had no clue what was happening and because of all the ways that the trauma was presenting itself, she just thought she was crazy. She describes herself as a poster child for trauma disgusted as a middle class, suburban athletic kid, so everyone just thought she was 'being a teenager'. But at 18, when she admitted to herself, and her family, what had been going on, her life suddenly made sense. The news exploded her family and all of their lives were turned upside down. Shortly after that she left for college where she became a super high achiever, while being addicted to weed and getting black out drunk and living on a constant emotional rollercoaster. At 22, she dove deep into her healing journey and spent her entire 20s healing using various holistic approaches, in addition to traditional therapy. she forgave her abuser by her 30th birthday and became a licensed therapist at 31. This is an incredible story, and we commend Brinn's bravery for coming on the show, and inspiring otherswww.brinnlangdale.comhttps://brinnlangdale.myflodesk.com/travelguideSupport the show

Without the internet, police were unable to track offender behaviour, and heavily relied on the testimony of victim-survivors. These interviews were crucial, and required care and empathy, as one misstep, and evidence could be lost and a victim survivor left unheard. Former detective Andrew Patterson was part of a special task force investigating paedophiles in Perth, and was the one who spoke to hundreds of victim-survivors... One morning, he received information about a sexual predator, and descriptions of an underground chamber with shiny chrome walls. He and his team set about investigating the offender, and finding survivors. Andrew sat down with host Brent Sanders to explain this case, and others from his impressive career. Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Today is day 62 of the war. Knesset correspondent Carrie Keller-Lynn and culture editor Jessica Steinberg join host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's podcast. Late last night, the war cabinet approved an increase in fuel supplies to the Gaza Strip. It's not a decision they made easily and there was more than a little pressure from the Americans. Keller-Lynn tells us more. At least 10 of the Israeli civilians released by Hamas, both men and women, were sexually assaulted or abused while in captivity, according to reports. What are we hearing so far? Israel's political left or far-left has been relatively silent following the October 7 Hamas massacre. In a segment recorded before Labor head Merav Michaeli announced a planned retirement from political life in April, we hear about the crisis of faith in the left-wing. Steinberg describes how some of the returned hostages are adjusting. We first hear about Noam Avigdori, 12, who hasn't wanted to let her father, Hen Avigdori, out of her sight. We then learn of two mothers fighting to get their grown sons home. Finally, we choose moving entries from Those We Are Missing, a series spearheaded by Steinberg. For the latest updates, please look at The Times of Israel's ongoing live blog. A Manhattan federal jury found former President Donald Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation in the E. Jean Carroll case and awarded her $5 million in damages. Trump called the verdict in the civil case a “disgrace.” Carroll alleged Trump raped her in a New York City department store in the mid-1990s then defamed her when he denied it. Jessica Leeds testified during the trial that a young Trump groped her on a flight back in the 1970s. She joins AC360 to discuss the verdict and says she's “very pleased” with the jury's decision. Plus, sources tell CNN that the Department of Justice has filed criminal charges against Republican Rep. George Santos. In just his first year in office, the New York lawmaker has been accused of breaking campaign finance laws, violating federal conflict of interest laws, stealing cash meant for an Iraq War veteran's dying dog, masterminding a credit card fraud scheme and lying about where he went to school and worked. Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Elie Honig tells Anderson Cooper what he thinks the charges against Santos could be.To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy

This is absolutely infuriating. On Sunday, the New York Times released an explosive new report detailing how thousands of children all over the country are being enrolled into the JROTC without their permission. These kids are literally showing up at school, getting their schedules, and finding out that they've been signed up for the military against their wishes. And it's happening almost exclusively in predominantly Black schools. Then, when kids and their families request that their kids be released from the program, they are refused. It's all outrageous. And we are learning this just weeks after the American military admitted that kids all over the country are being molested and sexually assaulted by ROTC leaders. Heads need to roll. People need to go to jail. And here's what I know. They'd never pull this shit at white schools. Or in rich zip codes. Or at private schools. They are doing this where they thing they will be able to get away with it.I have a lot to unpack and explain.
