Recorded: June 2nd, 2025 Will Compton & Taylor Lewan are back with NFL vet, Super Bowl champ, and Notre Dame legend Golden Tate. From high school star in Tennessee to Biletnikoff winner to a 10+ year NFL career with the Seahawks, Lions, Eagles, Giants, and Titans, Golden Tate hops on the bus and takes us through a ton of the behind the scenes drama he encountered in the league. The Bussin' Bowl is BACK! Will and Taylor give their takes on the impending Nebraska vs. Michigan game and set their official odds of who they think will win. Summer interns are also in the house! After the intro Will and Taylor dive into the Golden Tate interview. Tate opens up about his path to the league, nearly choosing baseball over football, and what it was like playing with legends like Russell Wilson, Matthew Stafford, and Eli Manning. Things get spicy as he breaks down his infamous beefs with Jalen Ramsey and Percy Harvin—including that locker room fight before the Super Bowl. Golden also shares his thoughts on the current state of the Seahawks with Sam Darnold and Jalen Milroe, playing for four different teams, and what it was like being a part of that dominant Legion of Boom era with teammates like Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and Earl Thomas. The boys dive into old Notre Dame stories, and even his return to baseball years after retiring from the NFL. Big Hugs.. Tiny Kisses! In 2006, Patricia Watkins thought her son was going to play college football for the Florida Gators. She had never even heard of Clemson when CJ Spiller traveled for a visit there that changed his life, and their lives. Last week, Watkins was a part of Spiller's entourage on the field at Death Valley when he was inducted into Clemson's Ring of Honor. It brought tears to her eyes because the first thing she thought of was when CJ tried to join a youth football team as a 6-year-old and was told he was too young (he spent that season as the water boy instead). CJ bawled his eyes out that day when told he couldn't play. He was crying again last Saturday, but they were tears of joy and gratitude. Watkins joins The Dubcast to reflect on the journey since Spiller's recruitment when she first heard the name Dabo Swinney. Swinney, then the receivers coach, was the key figure in convincing Spiller that Clemson was the place for him. And then a year later, Swinney was again the catalyst in convincing Spiller to remain at Clemson after he'd made up his mind he was going back home and transferring to Florida to join Urban Meyer, Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin. The mother of the most important recruit in Clemson football history opens up about her story, and their story.

Jon Wilner from the San Jose Mercury News joins to talk about conference re alignment, UW vs Weber State, and much more. More Questions for Doug Baldwin, what does he think of the Jamal Adams situation? What happened with Percy Harvin and Golden Tate? Life Perspective when someone becomes a parent.
Jason "Puck" Puckett, former KJR host and Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com, start off with Rob celebrating with England playing in the Euro Cup Championship, the news that Jamal Adams will not be a Seahawk, and the history of the Seahawks' trades. They reflect on the disappointment of the Adams trade and the lack of success in utilizing big-name players like Percy Harvin and Jimmy Graham. They also highlight the importance of having a clear plan and defined roles for players acquired through trades. The conversation revolves around the Seattle Seahawks' defense and their potential for improvement under new defensive coordinator Mike McDonald. They discuss the trade for Leonard Williams and express differing views on its value. They also analyze the performance of certain defensive players from the previous season and speculate on their potential for improvement. The conversation then shifts to the overall outlook for the Seahawks' defense, including their run defense and pass rush. They discuss the possibility of overtaking the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West and the pressure on the San Francisco 49ers to perform. One of my students, his name is, Brian has an amazing, amazing, amazing story. One of his biggest things I want to show people is how to take that dream and put action behind that dream. But anything that you want to do you have to work for, it's not going to be just given to you. Some people are outliers where it is, but we don't live in an outlier society where 90% of that is happening. So think about your dream, the purpose behind your dream, know that there's going to be order behind that dream in order for you to really commit to it. Once you commit to it, there's gonna be a lot of white noise around you. But you have to learn how to treat that as surface level things and aim high. If you ever need resources, there are people out here for you, such as Black Boy Heal and other community resources.

Cam Newton continues the fascinating glimpse into his remarkable journey, touching on everything from his iconic 2015 NFL season to the rockiness of his time at the University of Florida. Reflecting on his Super Bowl run and MVP performance, Cam shares candid insights into the mental and emotional toll of the big game, including the infamous fumble that haunted him in his Carolina Panthers' loss to Peyton Manning's Denver Broncos. Then, he delves into his extensive collegiate experiences. Cam talks about his time with the Florida Gators, which did not pan out as Cam expected because Urban Meyer was not as committed to Cam as he was to Tim Tebow. Cam also says the Netflix documentary focusing on Florida did not do a good enough job capturing the toxicity and chaos of a locker room comprised of guys like Aaron Hernandez, the Pouncey Brothers, Joe Haden and Percy Harvin. Cam also addresses the controversies surrounding his recruitment to Auburn and the resilience that propelled him through the adversity and into success, eventually culminating with a National Championship for Auburn. As the conversation ranges from confronting Alabama fans in the Iron Bowl, the recent scuffle he got in at his 7on7 camp, living next door to Michael Jordan, his parenting philosophy, near-death experience and not defining his legacy on whether or not he makes the NFL Hall of Fame, Cam's trademark personality shines through as he navigates numerous topics with depth and sincerity. Cam Newton offers a rare glimpse into the heart and mind of a football icon, providing valuable insights that resonate far beyond the gridiron. #VolumeSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome back to the Week 2 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report. The Vikings falter in their Thursday Night Football matchup in Philadelphia, 34-28. Costly turnovers reared their ugly head for a second straight week and the Vikings couldn't overcome the -3 turnover differential once again. After a wild first half, the Eagles found success running the ball and controlling the time of possession at almost a two-to-one margin. D'Andre Swift ran for 175 yards on the ground and the Eagles outpaced the Vikings 259 to 28. The Vikings fought to get back into the game and hit T.J. Hockenson for a second touchdown with 1:10 left in the game, but it proved to be too little, too late. The Vikings 364-yard aerial attack kept them alive, but it was not enough to secure a victory. Cousins finished the game 31-of-44 passing and threw 4 touchdowns. Rookie Jordan Addison joined Percy Harvin and Sammy White as the only 2 receiving rookies to have consecutive touchdowns in their first two games as a Viking. Justin Jefferson had another record-breaking night with 11 receptions for 159 yards receiving. He joins Lance Alworth as the fastest receivers to cross the 5,000-yard receiving mark, doing so in only 52 games. Defensively, the Vikings put pressure on Jalen Hurts, sacking him four times. OLB Danielle Hunter had a hat trick while Ivan Pace Jr. and Harrison Phillips shared the other. Safety Theo Jackson picked off Hurts in the 2nd Quarter for the lone Vikings interception of the night. The Vikings now shift their attention to the L.A. Chargers at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sept. 24th. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich recap the missteps that led to the loss, the patterns that are starting to emerge, the shifting Offensive Line, and the adjustments needed during the 'mini-bye week.' Plus, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell and Kirk Cousins both spoke to the media at the postgame press conference. All of this and more is in the 2023 Week 2 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hey! What about those New York Giants? To get the front-office perspective on GM Joe Schoen's plan, we bring on co-host Jim Monos. The Bills decided to still tear things down after winning nine games in 2017. Why did Schoen choose a different path? We discuss. We meander. The old Rex Ryan Bills enter the chat with Monos reliving the Percy Harvin signing. Somehow, Janoris Jenkins and Cliff Harris from the 2012 draft are brought up. The crazy Florida Gators days, too. And the Atlanta Falcons sure didn't hesitate to spend. Then again, they're quarterbacked by Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke at the moment. Bold strategy. -A good tweet showed that the highest base salary for any of the leading rushers in the SB over the last 14 years is $2.5 million (Percy Harvin…a WR); and 3 of the last 5 leading rushers in the game made less than $1 million per year-It seems like there's a lot of cyclical things in sports…will the NFL/college game ever shift back to run-heavy or will we see more and more passing?-When you see a 7th round pick like Isaiah Pacheco pan out for the Chiefs, what does that tell you about drafting a RB early in the draft?Show sponsored by GANA TRUCKINGAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden are joined for an exclusive interview with Urban Meyer as they discuss everything from Florida to Ohio State to Jacksonville and more. First, Coach Meyer remembers recruiting our very own Pat P and how that was a done deal to get him to the Gators...until it wasn't. He also recalls calling Coach Saban for a job opportunity way back in 1990, how Percy Harvin was and his big rule as a special teams coordinator. Urban comments on the 2012 undefeated Buckeyes, the national champion 2014 Ohio State team and what it was like to have Joe Burrow in Columbus for the first part of his college career. Next, Meyer details why he took an opportunity in the NFL, his thoughts on Trevor Lawrence and if he'll coach again. Finally, he shares thoughts on Deion Sanders at Colorado and the 2023 college football season. After discussing the pivotal 1997 wild card game, we dive into another mostly forgotten storyline: The MVP case of Percy Harvin. While Adrian Peterson receives the credit for the success of the 2012 team, Harvin's MVP start to the year over the first nine games is mostly forgotten. Join host Tyler Forness and producer Dave tonight at 8 pm central as they delve into what made Harvin an MVP candidate, the drama surrounding him during his time with the Vikings, and what led to his controversial trip to Injured Reserve. In 2012: Harvin was placed on IR on Dec 5, 2012. Harvin injured his ankle during Minnesota's Week 9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, suffering an entire ligament tear in his ankle -- or a Grade 3 sprain. Harvin finished the 2012 season with 62 receptions in nine games, for 677 yards and three touchdowns. Harvin returned 16 kickoffs for 574 yards -- including a 105-yard touchdown run. On 22 carries, Harvin rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown in 2012. Take this trip down memory lane, looking at Percy Harvin playing at a level that could have won him an MVP award.
