'Commit to a rhythm of time outs' is both a core value of the Culture Is Everything Club and an important lesson I've learned in becoming a leader. A daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual rhythm of time outs is an important system that I think all leaders need to understand and commit to. A rhythm of time outs helps manage our energy, emotions, health and ultimately the sustainability of our careers. In this short episode, I explain the background and importance of that system and invite you to join me on Youtube, Facebook or Twitter for a 12-minute daily time out to help manage yourself. The episode includes an interview of me discussing the rhythm of TIME OUT live daily huddles with Trevor Young on his Ticker TV program, Brand Builders. It also includes the audio from an actual TIME OUT live daily huddle from Tuesday, June 30, 2020. Enjoy the episode and consider joining me at 1.03pm AEST weekdays either once, every now and again or maybe every day. I'll be there when you're ready to be supported, re-energised and/or need a short break in the middle of a busy day. Enjoy :) ___ Join me at TIME OUT! You may know Glen Richards better as a shark on Channel 10's Shark Tank Australia.  Returning for his second interview on the Think Big, Act Small podcast, we get further into Glen's back story, including how he transitioned from a practising vet to the managing director of Greencross Vets. David is COO of Bodycare Workplace Solutions, where he helps lead a team of 140 people.  He's a qualified Exercise Physiologist and Physiotherapist, and a lifelong learner. This episode explores David's transition from customer-facing technician to people-focused leader.  Including the ups, the downs, the wins and the learnings. This is the first interview in a series that get to know and learn from emerging leaders who are in the trenches of building themselves and their teams.   Finding the time and space to coach and grow your team - as well as develop your leadership skills - is something most leaders will grapple with along their journey of becoming the best leader they can.  The series will explore the important transition that nearly every emerging leader has to grapple with: from being a team leader that is also a technical team member working with clients to being an inspiring people-focussed leader that has the time and space to coach and support their growing team without the added demand of trying to directly serve clients as well.
