Justin and Painter break down the historically rough shooting, the incredibly impressive defense and the highly controversial ending in Auburn basketball's low-scoring close loss at a top-five Tennessee team. They look at all the aspects of what went down in Knoxville, from the offensive execution to the final no-call, before looking ahead to the Tigers' trip to face Texas A&M on Tuesday. The guys also talk about Auburn's red-hot week of recruiting both in football and basketball with the commitments of Walker White, Jayden Lewis, Malik Autry, Tahaad Pettiford and Labaron Philon. They discuss how Auburn's new football staff is trying to set the tone in a cutthroat SEC landscape and how the 2024 class is shaping up to be exactly what the basketball program needs for the future. The episode ends with a loving tribute to Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim. There is a reason that transformative change is so rare. It's hard, it's risky, and most people prefer what they know. And most institutions exert considerable effort in preserving the status quo. Yet, transformative change is exactly the kind of change most needed in today's dynamic environment. In our December Leading Edge Thinking in Higher Education webinar, you will be introduced to real-world examples of how to implement and survive transformative change efforts. Hear about the experiences of leaders who have successfully navigated significant change efforts and their insights about what it takes and how to get started. In this mini IngenioUs episode, co-presenter Wallace Pond joins us to share highlights from the upcoming webinar. Register here for the webinar. December 14, 2022, 12:00 PM (ET). “Manage your mind in the moments of each day.” ~Julie Ciardi Parenting and raising kids is not easy and it can be a lot of work. In today's episode, we get an up close and personal look into Sara's life as she shares about a challenging parenting “scene” she had with one of her 6 year old twin boys. Our quote is “ Manage your mind in the moments of each day,” by Julie Ciardi, and you will be encouraged to know that we are not perfect at this, and we too are in process, but learning to manage our minds in the moment continues to be a huge benefit in our relationships, especially with our kids. As moms, we want our kids to behave and grow up to be respectful, responsible adults, but the journey of growth is often messy. Sara shares this fact: The only person we can really control or manage is ourselves. Learning to respond and not react is something we can practice and get better at, but Lisa encourages us to realize we are not going to be perfect at this and to give yourself compassion in the journey. Kelly shares the importance of having a follow up conversation with our kids, when emotions have dissipated, so our kids can process and learn through these life experiences. Remember, journaling can be a powerful way for you as a mom to process your feelings, but can also serve as a reminder of your progress in managing your mind in the moments! Be encouraged! We are here for you and we would love to connect with you! You can connect with us at @wakeupanddreampodcast or reach out to us personally using the contact info below! Were you encouraged by this podcast? Know of a mom that needs this “shot of encouragement?” Be sure to share it with them. Leave us a review, LIKE and SHARE it on your social media. Few artists have committed to the ethic of apocalyptic – even gothic – Americana as completely as Colorado's David Eugene Edwards. From his early work with The Denver Gentlemen and 16 Horsepower to the last two decades of material he has offered via Wovenhand, Edwards practically haunts every stage, and album, with spirits that are simultaneously spectral and Biblical. On this episode of the True Tunes Podcast, John J. Thompson sits down with Edwards in front of a live audience at the Audiofeed Festival in Champaign, Illinois to talk about his origins, his musical concepts, and his mystical perspectives on everything from the nature of art and humanity to the essence of spirituality and redemption. Then we crank up the jukebox to hear some other seminal apocalyptic music – and consider the value and purpose of provocative art in general. What is it that is being hidden, revealed, discovered, or avoided, when we drop the needle these days? The latest episode of T&V is all about "Songs That Aren't for the Faint of Heart." This theme almost immediately became one of our favorites, but what does it mean to you? And what would you add to a community playlist that isn't for the faint of heart? Maybe your pick would be the sort of angsty number that comes with a parental warning. Then again, it could be something that seems innocuous, until you consider its dramatic backstory. Of course, it might also be a song that's notoriously difficult — or better yet, apparently impossible to perform. For this episode, Carter and Mahea were joined by our good friend, the immensely talented songwriter and guitarist, Christina Apostolopoulos.
