We are entering the fourth and final act of 2022, so now is the time to reflect on the silliness so far and look ahead to what we have coming up in the next few months that will inevitably put us into the throes of obsession. Dave and Ryan discuss shows renewing this fall they are excited to see.
Lots of stuff in today's #TheShowKC - this was supposed to be the day it actually turned into fall, but that hasn't happened yet. We debate the finer points of coffee. And you know what that coffee does to you... sends you to the bathroom a lot, just like Jen discusses in the Impossible Question. Who got voted off of Dancing with the Stars last night? (Spoiler alert!) What does it take to be basic? Truta wants to know what it means to be "basic." The crew and listeners reveal which TV shows they are most excited to see return. Truta remembers what it was like to record (and re-record) your outgoing answering machine message. Shaylee has a problem...she saw a guy once and didn't feel a connection. Now she's trying to figure out how to get herself out of the situation. Listeners chime in from all directions. Ahh, the power of the text line! See you Wednesday!
Fall is here! We usher in the season with suggestions of shows to pick up to watch with your significant others, with friends, or just by yourself.
Keith & Benjamin discuss the Fall 2017 television lineup of sci-fi & fantasy shows.
There was so much news out of the 2017 San Diego Comic Con we had a second show to focus on the TV trailers. Sarah, Will and recurring co-host Patricia are back to give our hot takes on some of the trailers out of the Comic Con. But first Sarah gives us another film school lesson with her review of Dunkirk, Will passes the Mr. Robot pop quiz that Sarah drops on him and Patricia is surprised by Atomic Blond in our hiatus updates. We then get to our trailer reactions, Will boldly goes where no Star Trek fan has gone before and tries to win over Sarah and Patricia on Star Trek: Discovery, we take a trip to the 80's with Stranger Things 2, view hits and misses of the Marvel TV universe and wait for it: Arrow, Flash, Supergirl and even LOT gets their due on our Arrowverse block. Plus Will and Patricia go on a crossover tangent. After all it is Scene N Nerd!! Jokes about hipsters are funny (2 Broke Girls). Whitney = Lucy (Whitney). And Chris Delia is a god! (Just a truth. Accept it.)Sis and Squirt finally get around to the new Fall TV shows that they love. When Suburgatory let go of the voice-overs, we let go of our reservations and fully embraced the show. (Even if Awkward is better.)The Count of Monte Cristo and Dynasty got together and created Revenge, which is awesome! Pan-Am's Karine Vanasse breaks our hearts. But we forgive her anyway. Hart of Dixie has Josh Schwartz and Rachel Bilson and uses the Gilmore Girls set. Of course we were going to love it. On The Sing-Off, Sis wants Sara Bareilles to give her constructive criticism on her life. And Squirt has decided that she is Ben Folds. Whatever that means.Subscribe here.
A Hot Steaming Cup of...Fall TV Shows That We Are Bored WithThe Secret Circle teens are cute, but stupid, even if we loved them in other shows. Apparently, Sis gave up right before both Terra Nova and the Ringer got good. But there is no love lost from Squirt over Up All Night. And don't ask Sis about The New Girl; she's still conflicted.Subscribe here.
A Hot Steaming Cup of...Agree or Disagree on Cancelled Fall TV Shows It's our post-mortem of some of the shows that got the early network hammer. We didn't want to "Rush to Judgement" on any of the new Fall TV Shows (that one was for you, Monkeysee), so we used the 3 episode rule before commenting on any of the new shows.Unfortunately some of them didn't even make it that far.Subscribe here.
The new fall television season is upon us! And from Daniel B. in Boston comes the suggestion to take a day-by-day look at what’s coming up on the tube. Today we run through the Fall 2011 TV programming grid and make snap judgments about brand new shows on the major networks. Next week we’ll start to cover returning shows and share our first impressions on some new stuff. But we really want to talk about the shows you want to talk about, so be sure to let us know what you’re watching this fall!
