How do you do, fellow kids? We try to appeal to the youth this week and so does Jeopardy!, as their older fans predictably fume about them twisting a very regular wordplay category to make a meme joke. But we love it, and we love this final week of Second Chance as some dynamite players return to the Alex Trebek Stage and we get some truly wonderful gameplay. We also discuss small town Canada hotels, Emily's Christmas gift, and we dive deep (plunge deep?) on the history of epidurals. If you want more of this show, there's never been a better time because Baby Geniuses is BACK, baby! That's right, Emily and Lisa Hanawalt reunite for their first Baby Gs episode in almost two years, and it's ONLY on our Patreon! You can also have a bunch of bonus episodes about Jeopardy! as a treat. Plus, access to our Discord and other fun stuff. Join today at patreon.com/jeopardypodcast. It's 2026…are we really still doing podcast episode descriptions? I mean, come on! It should be AI! Or it should be some guy on the other side of the world that we're just saying is AI. It should be at least that. UGH! Fine. I will write it. But it WON'T be good. On this episode of YKS there's a dog…uh, thing. Honestly this was recorded last month I don't remember what these were, save for one. I really really don't like the guy making the podcast about bringing people together. Well, I guess I should say I don't like the podcast, not that I don't like him. I don't know him. And actually I didn't really listen to the podcast, either, so that hardly seems fair. If I really think about it, what's causing me to have this reaction to him? Resentment…jealousy…just the way I was brought up? Gosh, I've never really thought about it. But now that I have, I have decided to change my mind. I'm now in favor of stupid fucking fake crap you put online for clout. And with that, enjoy this episode of Crap Shit Sucks: The AssCast. Emily is finally feeling well enough to record a pod and so we do a truncated recap of last week's games, which we are calling "Guy Branum's Second Chance, Presented by Guy Branum, featuring Guy Branum". In other news, Guy Branum joins us to discuss his run to the Second Chance Finals, from feeling like his Jeopardy! journey is satisfactorily complete to what the green room vibes were like. We also watch Michelle Tsai play so well people "react" to a FJ response of hers (they don't even fume!), John gets grilled about watching "Heated Rivalry", and we dive deep on the strange and dark origins of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". If you want to have yourself a belated merry little Christmas, why not donate to the show? It's just $5/month at patreon.com/jeopardypodcast to support the show AND get a bunch of bonus episodes. It's almost New Year's, and we're unlocking a New Fear – that of a New Episode of YKS NOT being re-released. But we're also unlocking something else simultaneously, which makes this little linguistic flair quite apropos after all! That's right, it's UNLOCKED EPISODE time! And for this week, we revisit one of the year's best with one of the world's best – Bob's Burgers with Paul F. Tompkins. This time, the video is here for everyone to enjoy, along with about 20 extra minutes of me sounding like a psycho. So sit back, relax, and “toon” in. And out. And in. And out. Oh baby! Emily's constant recommendation of the miniseries "Death by Lightning" pays off as it leads to a get on an FJ, and that's really the headline of this first week of the Second Chance Tournament, where wagering errors and some extremely hard FJs play more of a role in who wins than the actual gameplay. But that's why we play the games, baby! It's high drama and the clue writers get us laughing, J! fans fume over a Ken IG post, and we dive deep on "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Well it's 3 days before Xmas and the boys are taking a little bit of a break. So here's a recent classic YKS Premium – now with 23 minutes of B-B-B-Bonus Content – unlocked and with video, if you haven't seen that shit before. A category about holiday movies gets us in our Christmas bag as we discuss Christmas Vacation, Jingle All the Way, and Emily's early crush on Bernard the Elf. Will Riley jingles all the way to bank this week with cash stuffing his pockets after a very impressive run and a very, very confusing finish to it. Recording in his Dublin Darklands studio, Dan Doherty is one of Ireland's most in demand producers. Before that he was in two well known Irish bands - Ghosts Estates and SICKBOY. He has recently picked up his drumsticks again to play with Galway chaos merchants Slyrydes. Many people might know him for his work on the first three Fontaines DC singles, however his list of credits is incredible, ranging from established artists such as The Jesus and Mary Chain, Hope Sandoval and Denzel Curry to raw, young talent bringing the latest rap, post punk or hip hop. It's a big week for superchamps present and former as Harrison Whitaker's time on J! comes to an end but superchamp Ray LaLonde's (evil?) twin, Ron, makes his debut and sets out to carve a Jeopardy! path of his own. Plus, we get another great 2-day champ in Libby Jones, we get perhaps the horniest clue we have ever read in our time as a podcast, and Ken can't stop thinking about wood. Plus, we dive deep on the humble tomato's history as a fruit and/or vegetable. Speaking of Harrison Whitaker, we loved him so much on the show we brought him on for a full-length bonus episode interview! Are you ready for a risqué musical parody of a podcast episode? Well bud, you're in the wrong RSS feed. There's hardly anything risqué about this episode of “The Poopy Wiener Show”, and barely any songs or jokes. The imperial run of Harrison Whitaker marches on, and though he faces a couple tough challenges throughout the week, he heads into the weekend a 14-day champion. Ken also gets to feel like a champion on this episode as we get a few wonderful Ken's Korner moments, Jeopardy! fans fume about his Simpsons residuals, and we dive deep on Jim Thorpe. It would be funny if we had a guy called Meatball on the show. Hey Meatball…what are you doin? Meatball, how was your weekend? Meatball, what the HELL do you think about that? Oh Meatball. But, we don't have that. And that is why the show sucks. Speaking of which, on today's show, we have two projects about hooters but kind of from the opposite end of the spectrum, and some dumb crap you'd get someone you don't like that much for Christmas. Harrison Whitaker is a joy to watch play Jeopardy!, but he also makes our job very hard this week, as his constant parade of correct answers makes it hard to make fun of anything. That's the type of hard-hitting question we answer on the show this week, as John returns from his one-week layoff to tell tales about visiting Reno, Nevada and Emily buys a hat that prompts said conversation. Emily also narrowly avoids jury duty, we meet a potentially very strong champion in Allegra Kuney, and a Jeopardy! clue has us pondering everything we ever knew about The Flintstones. Last night I was trying to think of something to get mad about and I came up with “sometimes if you have a car that has a push button ignition it's sort of hard to tell if it's all the way on or just in accessory mode.” I know there's a lot of bad stuff happening in the world, but I'm kind of embarrassed that I couldn't come up with a slight inconvenience or weird interaction to ruminate on so intensely that it screwed up my night. Elsewhere, we get a very charming Jeopardy! anecdote, John very much agrees with what the fans are fuming about this week, and we dive deep on Agatha Christie. Donate to the show! TJ Fisher makes it to the Tournament of Champions and we learn about the duality of Jeopardy! headlines as the US Mirror goes wild over his victory (and defeat). We go wild for this great week of games too as Ken gets a Trebek-like slam on a contestant's anecdote, we go heavy on Wager Talk™, we get a "Name of the Year" candidate, and we dive deep on VeggieTales. Speaking of tales, we spin a few in our brand-new bonus episode out this week as 7-game champ Paolo Pasco joins us for an interview and for the first edition of "Paolo's Puzzle Corner", as he runs Emily and John through some of his famous puzzles. It's only available at patreon.com/jeopardypodcast, where $5/month gets you access to all of our bonus episodes, access to our Discord, and lots of other fun stuff. Join today! There should be a way to just have a single ordinary thought and immediately have it translated into a physical manifestation of my misunderstanding of what “Art” is! And it should be RIGHT NOW because I have to go to the CAR DEALERSHIP later! Well, luckily, that seems to be the only problem American Capital is aiming to solve, beyond “make sure no one has jobs anymore”, which is also going VERY WELL! As maddening as that is, I think I'll try to relax. Hand me my towel with a picture of an asshole on it, I'll be in the backyard drinking a particular kind of malt beverage that is marketed to reinforce my particular neuroses. The Ghost of Merv Griffin is here and so is the ghost of John and Emily's 30s, as Emily finally hits the big 4-0 and John is soon to follow. We discuss the feeling of getting older, Emily's big birthday bash that was attended by some high-profile J! contestants, and a suspect gift that was given to Emily by one of those very same contestants. Oh, and a week of Jeopardy! happened in where we get a couple Response of the Weeks from the same player in the same category and the Jeopardy! fans fume and fool Emily over a RARE Final Jeopardy! occurrence. Snoopy and the gang are going for a ride in the new Chrysler Pacifica. And why not! They're ostensibly children, despite being something like 80 years old by this point, so there's simply no doubt they would take full advantage of the best-in-class technology and entertainment on offer in the well-appointed Premium trim or even in the luxurious, top-of-the-line Pinnacle edition. Why, I could see the entire Peanuts crew now, charging up their personal devices in all 3 rows, connecting to the available onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, and even streaming the latest and greatest programming on the optional 11” headrest monitors! Because whether you're on the way to soccer practice, visiting grandma and grandpa at their old lake house, or going airborne after a botched PIT maneuver because a crackhead in a neck gaiter mistook your daughter's My Little Pony blanket for a Pride bumper sticker, every day is an adventure in the 2025 Chrysler Pacifica. We say goodbye to one great champion last week and welcome another this week as Steven Olson has a great run and comes up with a couple Responses of the Week along the way. What if you could build a global audience of over a million people. Without spending a dime on ads, SEO, or boosting posts? That's exactly what Dan Shinder did with Drum Talk TV. Since 2013, he's reached more than 100 million people a year across 130 countries. Dan's done it with nothing more than content. Community, and a refusal to play by conventional marketing rules. In this conversation, Dan breaks down the “secret sauce” behind his success. His storytelling, social energy, and building the right team around the right relationships. We get into how musicians and entrepreneurs alike can harness organic growth. Why “not liking something doesn't mean it sucks.” What it really takes to turn passion into a sustainable business. From breaking industry myths to lighting up about his love of music. Dan's journey is proof that coloring outside the lines isn't just rebellion it's strategy.Where to Find Dan Shinder?
I respect the hell outta y'all for listening to this show. It takes a lot of damn guts to sit down and figure out your bluetooth while you're driving your car. There's some real chutzpah involved in throwing in some HeadBudz and halfway paying attention to 2 jagoffs talking shit while you're washing a dish. I mean it. Hell, I could never do it. But I do want to ask you this. Do you have what it takes? I mean do you really think you got it in ya? Obviously if there is a Final Jeopardy! about Borat, we are going to discuss Borat. The year is 2025. Someone is writing “The World's First” on their little piece of crap they invented and not wondering why someone else didn't get to it first. This will presumably never stop happening. I mean why, would it? When you can cop a mad deece six figgies off a picture frame with a speaker in it, why would you ever iterate on someone else's design? You've got the magic damn touch! Your ideas are divine! Actually, hey, since you're noodling on stuff, I got a problem. I'm wasting like 20 hours a year on…no, not moving carpet around. It's a coffee thing. You know what, lemme call you back. Plus, J! fans are fuming over Ken becoming an empty nester and we dive deep on the Spelling Bee. For our patrons, of course, our show never stopped, as we did bonus episodes all summer long over at patreon.com/jeopardypodcast, and had a blast doing it. Down…set…hut hut…Podcast! It's football season and oh man that's funny I just saw Fireman Ed on TV. I thought he was giving it up because they didn't put him on the Jumbotron enough. Together, you've heard them 14 times on YKS, and on their streams and podcasts, perhaps millions more. But today is not about that. Today is about…pumpy. Actually I forget what that was. So let's say that today is about Kickstarters. Even though it rarely is, of course. And as you can see by the prodigious runtime of this episode, it had very little chance to be the exception proving the rule. But what if it were? Well you'd probably hear about a celebrity's crazy vanity project, a guy's crazy book, and some crazy fake science. And there would be 4-5 of us going crazy thinking and talking about those things. Plus! Some very normal things as well. Just kidding.Watch Demi's new show, SYWWAPP
What if masculinity could be redefined? Well, I don't know. I don't really know what that means. It sounds like something Tom Brady would say on a Sunday morning in a watch commercial while I'm ambling to the kitchen to get more chips. They call it AuGuest…but they should be calling it “Aw yeah! This month is “Au” – the periodic symbol for the element gold, that is. Because the guests, the Kickstarters, the production, and hey even the hosts themselves…they're as good as gold! But unlike gold, you won't find something this glittery – although not everything that glitters is it – in the ground, but rather in the digital files of my very device, which is itself “grounded”, but when I listen I feel as high as a kite! And the kite, of course, my dear friends, is as golden as the podcast itself, and the wonderful friends I've made listening to it – that's right, I'm talking about you.” But that wouldn't fit on a t-shirt, so they don't. Gimme the clicker! I wanna watch YourHometv.com! Ah crap. All they're playing is this stupid podcast. It looks like it's hosted by 2 total morons. Heh. They're ugly as well. And they seem depressed but not in an interesting way? Shit hold on they're gonna discuss Kickstarter…that feels fresh. Let's see what they got. Well it's 45 mins in and they haven't said anything about the Kickstarters. They're mostly talking about doctors appointments and TV remotes. Well I checked the guide and apparently they're gonna eventually get to bible memes, 1000 bad jokes, and a real sicko's attempt to grift a luxury car. I just want to say before anyone listens to this episode…I LOVE true crime! Podcasts, Dateline, asking Chappy Tea to embellish the grisly details of case files I looked up with a hacked PACER account…I can't get enough. So when I imply in this episode that I think the cottage industry exploiting the victims of physical violence for t-shirt sales is horrifically sad and beneath contempt, I was talking about something else. Or I got confused or I was taken over by a brain thing or something. I got all messed up for a sec. It's cool though. Anyway what else?Oh yeah. Farts are funny and I'm a ninja pimp.
