I have sat here, in my office, staring at my computer screen for what feels like hours. I have no idea what to title this, how to write it- and so I’ll do what I have learned to do while “Doing Life Together” here at Pickett Street, I will begin. It’s time for me to leap. LEAP: to pass abruptly from one state or topic to another. My word for 2020.Right now, I’d like to start with a thank you. Thank you to my forever friends at Pickett Street. Every member that has passed through the door has very literally changed my life. I entered the doors at Keller Williams Bothell at 31 years old, dressed in a simple black dress with no idea what I was walking into- and how drastically my life would change in 8 years. Every time I step into the gray area, wander around and find my way- I come out a better human. There is discomfort in the in-between, and it is in that discomfort that I have found my comfort :) I have Pickett Street as a company, Jesse D. Moore, Keller Williams, and every member of Pickett Street Properties to thank for helping me find my way to the loveliest, grayest area of life- where I can say with total passion and excitement- THIS, THIS is where I find my joy. I have no idea what I’m going to do- and I have never been more excited for the journey. There will be more to come from me on this topic. But for today, I would just like to sit with this news for a moment. If you don’t mind. I never imagined I would be in a place where I would be sitting here, at my computer, writing to a community of people that have watched me grow in such a vulnerable, authentic and real manner. Thank you for all the love, support, compassion and empathy.I see you. Thank you for seeing me.xo,MOYou can find Finely Clicked on all major platforms:

MARGARET SMITH and KEVIN KAUFFMAN Margaret Smith is a phenom in the world of Real Estate Team Operations where she is employed by Pickett Street Properties in the Seattle WA area. She is an experienced operations guru with a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington. She has taken her background in social work and art degree and applied it the real estate industry over the last 7 years. Margaret's focus is on recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, public relations, client events, team culture, and social media. She partners up with Jesse D. Moore on a regular podcast called Finely Clicked. Margaret and Jesse discuss business, leadership, and personal development. Margaret's biggest learning curve coming into the real estate world was learning to communicate with agent-minded people in general and bridging the gap between agents and admin. She has learned the importance of developing the relationship between Rain Maker Agents and support staff and teaches a class on this called “Make it Rain Together”. Having been brought up with the knowledge of embracing both human and social capital as a path to success, she knew immediately how valuable it is in navigating the real estate business and began networking from the start. She surrounds herself with successful people because the more perspectives you have, the better to serve yourself and your team. The number one issue most agents have when starting a team is the relative lack of business or people experience which is a lack of leadership. The beauty of the real estate business is the constant flow of self-development to gain the leadership needed to form a strong team with little to no turnover. Personal self-development uncovers passion, talent, and skills; it's shocking how little people spend on personal development. Agents who want to form a team should interview at least 5 candidates and train them well in both business and personal development. Margaret hosts an annual retreat for Directors of Operations where she invites operational gurus to speak. It is held annually in April. For more information on this retreat, go to her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pnwoperationsretreat/ To listen in on the best ideas for business, leadership, and personal development. Today we're dropping Episode 5 of "Finely Clicked" with a phenomenal first guest- someone who is not only making waves in the art world, but in the business world as well. One of our favorite quotes or ideas from this episode: The obstacle IS the advantage. Iris Scott has been featured in Forbes, Barron's, Business Insider, USA Today, NowThis, CBS New York, and American Art Collector Magazine. Several galleries carry Iris's originals, her collectors have included Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Children’s Hospital, and Swedish Medical Centers. In contrast to much of the contemporary art scene scarcity model, Iris’ prints are intentionally accessible because she believes withholding affordable prints is not aligned with the collective conscious of art history’s future. Iris Scott- an Artist that paints with her FINGERS, from a small farm near Seattle, WA. Themes from this week's episode: 1. Set limitations and work within them. 2. Follow the script, then deviate. 3. Enjoy it, have an audience, FOCUS on that. 4. The obstacle is the ADVANTAGE. 5. Iris talks to herself everyday- affirmations. 6.
