Today we are so very blessed to Raymond Woodward back on the podcast. He is the Superintendent of the UPC Canada and Teaching Pastor of CCC in Fredricton, NB. In this conversation, we discuss the significance of teaching from the Old Testament in the context of modern ministry. We explore how the Old Testament provides foundational knowledge for understanding the New Testament and the teachings of Jesus. Woodward emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balance between Old and New Testament teachings, arguing that the Old Testament is not only relevant but essential for a comprehensive understanding of scripture. --------- Takeaways Teaching from the Old Testament is essential for understanding the New Testament. The apostles used the Old Testament as their primary scripture. Jesus and the apostles did not shy away from the Old Testament. The Old Testament provides cultural and historical context for the New Testament. Many major doctrines are introduced in the Old Testament. The Old Testament is rich in typology and symbolism that points to Jesus. A balanced approach to teaching includes both Old and New Testament. New converts are hungry for the Word of God, including the Old Testament. The Old Testament encourages us with stories of God's mercy and grace. Studying the Old Testament can deepen our understanding of God's plan. -------- Previous Episode with Raymond Woodward - https://open.spotify.com/episode/5rybvI2XQDpspFDLT7OSgn?si=-xQNBPdxReCodaLJsnSeVA -------- The Dr Vani Marshall Podcast - https://open.spotify.com/show/7vFNnL2HlmZS3qAiKPRLXa?si=6bf92a66afc74964 ------- Order Hacka Merch - https://the-hacka-podcast.myspreadshop.com/ ------------ Watch every episode - https://www.youtube.com/c/TheHackaPodcast Follow us on social: Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/thehackapod/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/hackaorg TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@thehackapod
Hello to you listening in Fredricton, New Brunswick, Canada!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Question: Are origin and brand stories one and the same? Not at all. While origin stories and brand stories share similarities, they serve distinct purposes in the realm of storytelling and branding.Origin Story: An origin story typically focuses on how your work began, your journey, and the foundational moments that define professional or organizational identity. You've heard me talk about the "archeological dig" to get to your origin story. It's your Who. It precedes your Why. Origin stories often highlight the challenges you've overcome, your values, and the mission or purpose that drives your work. This is the most consequential story you'll ever create because it tells how you got from there to here, bringing your particular vision into existence.Brand Story: On the other hand, a brand story encompasses a broader narrative that builds on the foundational origin story. Its role is to show the ongoing evolution, present-day identity, and how the values, mission, and personality of the brand are incorporated in the process. It's your Why. This overall narrative shapes how the brand is perceived and how it connects with your audience.Question: Now that you know the difference between the stories that are key to building your identity and connecting with your audience, what motivates you to create and tell them? What's your project? How can I help? You're always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out What I Offer,✓ Arrange your free Story Start-up Session,✓ Opt In to my monthly NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on LinkedIn.Stories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer's Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Hello to you listening in Fredricton, New Brunswick Province, Canada! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. There is a gift in hindsight! Believe it or not hindsight can show us when a breakdown became a breakthrough, a spiritual crisis became a spiritual awakening, a trial of tears became the trail of gratitude. It has to be hindsight because when swamped by difficult situations we feel scared, uncertain, anxious or worse. Then time passes. Finally, we are ready, willing and able to take a look at what we perceived was our complete and utter failure at creating our life, speaking our voice, succeeding at business, and so on. What we perceived as failure has the potential of possibility, possibility we would not have been able to appreciate when we were feeling swamped. What if we could imagine that Life is a grand experiment. The beauty of an experiment is that when it doesn't work out the way you intended that's the moment you learned. Learning is the price of success. Story Prompt: Think about a time when it looked like you had lost everything; but in time you chose a do-over with what you had learned. What happened then? Write that story!Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something. All that matters is you have a story. You're invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, follow, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time! In today's episode, I'm introducing a new series that you will be see throughout Season 2 where I share inspirational women and their lessons in life. So, to kick off this series, I bring on a friend Cassandra Blackmore, who is running for City Council in Fredericton, NB. However, I first met her when she wanted to start her own Wardrobe Consulting business. Cassandra worked in wardrobe consulting for awhile, but followed her passion to become the Executive Director of Fredricton's Community Kitchens (making and giving food to people who need it). PLUS taking her undergrad in Political Science. All at the age of 27!! She's got a lot on her plate and has a lot to share about lessons she's learned on her way to this point... I wanted to bring on Cassandra because she is a POWERHOUSE and part of the next generation that is going to make big changes in the world and I needed her voice to be heard. In today's episode: Cassandra shares about how working a lot of solo careers, she got more in touch with what she REALLY desired to do. Her desire led her to volunteer with the Fredericton Community Kitchens where she, rather quickly, became the Executive Director. She describes her lessons learned when she had to figure out how to continue delivering food to people who need it during the pandemic shortly after obtaining her directorial position. She shares the many life lessons that shaped how she maintained a successful leadership position. She also shares the positive and negatives of being completely homeschooled in her youth...
